Small line outside on a Saturday morning, but it moved fast. Once inside, there's a small case of breads, and a small case of cakes. I opted for the pandan cinnamon roll and a ube malasada. The malasada felt like there's a creme brulee crust on the outside where it was a harder exterior and a soft interior. It was also chewier like it was made of rice flour. Can someone confirm if it's made of rice flour? The pandan cinnamon roll was delish and had a soft center. Tasty, but not sure if I can taste pandan. I learned about this thru my aunt and sis and they convinced me to go there and get some goodies since it's only 6 mins from my house. I got there at 8:30 and I was #3 in line. When it was my turn to order , they were already out of Spanish bread. I was left with the bibingka , and coconut , black sesame and pandas swisher buns. Overall they're just MEH!! I don't understand what's the hype about? The goodies were al dry and not fluffy. I have had better baked goods that were home made and more flavorful. I don't think I will be back. This review has actually been long overdue. I've been ordering from S&W even before they opened their brick and mortar. Their bread and pastries are always good quality and very nostalgic. Even though I'm not a Filipino, the flavor of their goodies are very similar to where I'm from. I think I might have tried (almost) all stuff they have in store. Some of my favorites are bibingkas (never go wrong with this), any weekend special donuts (ube or cream "cheese" filled donuts), ube cheez pandesal and cakes. I also like their pop tarts but they usually get sold out pretty fast. Their staff are always nice and personable. Check their instagram for any special items or any other updates (such as if they're sold out fast, or if there's any discount or if there's a long line). I'd suggest to eat their bread items on the day of. The other non-bread stuff are still good even after a few days. I've been following and ordering from Sans and Wolves since their pop up days and finally got to check out their brick and mortar shop. The shop is smaller than expected with no seating inside. I came on a Friday morning around 8:30 so there was still a good selection of baked goods. Staff was friendly and patient as I decided which item to get. I decided to go with the ube ensaymada and it paired well with my coffee from next door. I recommend coming earlier in the day as they may run out of certain items sooner than later. read more

The store itself didn't have seating but there are benches outside to snack on whatever you ate. Ended up picking up an ube roll. We love our local small businesses. I'd been hearing about San and Wolves from my non-Filipino friends and told my husband who immediately wanted to try it. Well, it took us a while to get out here and we did on their 1-year anniversary. We got an assortment of items including a strawberry babinka, some cookies, bitsu-bitsu, ube malasada, chili Orange custard donut, sylvana and a coffee. To me, the babinka was the winner. My partner liked the malasada. The other items ranged from good to too sweet but they were all well made and good. And what's too sweet to is may be perfect for others (younger). I didn't love the items that I tried but I heard that they're known for the ensaymadas and original pandesal which ran out by the time I got there around 11:30am on a Saturday. I would be interested in coming back to try those items but would prob need to go early Ube cream cheez pandesal: 3/5 the bread was more doughy than I expected (not sure if this is typical since I've never had pandesal before) but they also didn't heat it up or anything so it was kind of cold. I went to San & Wolves at 8am and found parking very close to the front of the store. I believe I was the first one there. As I walked in, there was already a line starting behind me, so, I felt rushed to make my order. I love that this Filipino bakery is so popular! I ended up ordering a Fig and Honey Bibinka, an Ube Cinnamon Roll and coffee. My kiddo who has a gluten allergy really enjoyed the Bibinka. At first I thought it was pretty pricey for its size, but, she loved it so much that I'm thinking of going back to get it back for her. I'm not sure if it was a little undercooked because the cornbread stuck to my fingers and felt pasty. I unfortunately did not taste the ube in the roll, but, it was a very generous size. This is a vegan Filipino bakeshop quite unlike any other vegan bakery I've ever visited. I do not strictly follow a vegan diet, so I can say without a doubt, one would never know vegan pastry can be so mouthwatering delicious! Ordered two chickpea egg pandesal sliders, ( yes ate them as soon as we got to the car), pandan cinny buns, crinkle cookies, a figgy Honee bibingka and a cornbread bibingka. Anybody who knows a Pinoy, knows we rep the culture hard. A vegan Filipino bakery?? Kind of a crazy concept, especially since veganism isn't super common among Filipinos. But honestly, as much as I love my eggs and dairy, I don't miss them at all in these baked goods. I've been buying from S+W since they were still a pop up at Teofilo, and I'm super happy to see their success as a storefront. The fact that by 1 pm on the weekends their bakery case is almost clear, makes me the consumer a little bummed ngl, but as a supporter --super happy, super heart full. The existence of this place makes me so proud to live in Long Beach, and so happy to see our culture beloved and celebrated. If you're not familiar with Filipino flavors, I'd recommend starting off with the ube macapuno cake slice, then branching off to the other ube flavors and pastries. I'm very particular to the ube ensaymada or the pan de coco. All of the ube/sesame/pandan buns also seem to be popular, but they always get sold out first, so I haven't tried them in a while :p. My favorite item though is the SILVANAS! Please bring them back!! I should've ordered twenty and froze them!!! Didn't realize they were a seasonal item :(. We went to check out the hype as per socmed. There wasnt a heavy line and also they let people in one at a time. However when we tasted the pastries, it wasnt good considering they looked enticing on appearance. Among the ones we bought, the Bitsu bitsu was good but soooo pricey. It was good to taste it once... but there are better bakeries in Cerritos, Artesia and Santa Ana worth visiting. We ordered a small assortment consisting of ube coffee cake, turon, pumpkin maple brioche donut, calamasi loaf, and blueberry cornbread. The ube coffee cake blew my mind. The crumble was perfectly balanced with salty and sweet. The brioche donut brought so much nostalgia for us because it was slightly reminiscent of a zeppoli because of how light and fluffy it was. Friend loved a cake that the business posted on 2/17/26 and I placed an order the next day for the same "whimsical" cake through their order form and adding the phrase WHIMSICAL CAKE *as noted on the post*. I opened the cake box and was disappointed in what I saw. I see why this little bake shop is such a hit! Oh my goodness, the ube cinnamon roll was perfection. It's huge, and had the perfect ratio of cinnamon and sugar. The texture is like biting into a doughy cloud. It's easily the best texture I've ever experienced with a cinnamon roll. The ube sweet roll is fantastic as well. There is great spring to the bread itself, and the ube coconut filling is an ube-lovers dream. Also, the employees are so nice! It's always wonderful to support a local business that really embraces everyone. It's a takeaway bake shop for sure, it's a small little corner shop so there isn't a place to sit in the shop, you gotta enjoy these goods at home. All I have to say is, I wish San & Wolves were closer to me! This bakery is so cute, and you won't find anything like it anywhere in LA county. It's 100% worth the drive for Filipino vegan pastries. I tried the Black Sesame Bun, Bibingka Cornbread, and the Figgy Honee Bibingka. All three were so delicious, not at all too sweet, and had great textures. My favorite was the Figgy Honee Bibingka, which was a unique twist on the traditional dessert. Front of the house was incredibly kind and helpful.
