This review has actually been long overdue. I've been ordering from S&W even before they opened their brick and mortar. Their bread and pastries are always good quality and very nostalgic. Even though I'm not a Filipino, the flavor of their goodies are very similar to where I'm from. I think I might have tried (almost) all stuff they have in store. Some of my favorites are bibingkas (never go wrong with this), any weekend special donuts (ube or cream "cheese" filled donuts), ube cheez pandesal and cakes. I also like their pop tarts but they usually get sold out pretty fast. Their staff are always nice and personable. Check their instagram for any special items or any other updates (such as if they're sold out fast, or if there's any discount or if there's a long line). I'd suggest to eat their bread items on the day of. The other non-bread stuff are still good even after a few days. Typically weekends are busier, especially due to their weekend specials that are hard to miss!

Incredibly tasting, quick line, and very decadent. Recommend splitting the items if you don't like super sweet things. Splitting also made it perfect to try multiple things. Everything looked divine. The details put into the execution is noticed. Small cozy shop with efficient service and tasty baked goods and coffee. You'll definitely be getting everything to-go as there's no seating area inside.

    1. The pastries were soft and not too sweet! I really love that blueberry cornbread bibingka! 2. The spot has chill casual vibes! The interior is cozy! 3. The staff were friendly and timely with our order! It was ready after 5 mins! 4. There is no seating inside! There is a bench outside! 5. I only saw street parking available! Note: This spot does not have restroom available for customers! Photo: Blueberry Cornbread Bibingka and Black Sesame Bread

Was going to Reinne's place next door and saw how cute this shop was! Had to support local businesses Street parking only, I don't think I saw seating inside but there was a bench outside! The man who helped me was so nice and patient, even helped me pronounce the name of what I ordered because I couldn't Got a pandesul to go with my coffee, it was perfect. Not too sweet and went amazing with my coffee. Would love to come back to try more stuff!

I've been following and ordering from Sans and Wolves since their pop up days and finally got to check out their brick and mortar shop. The shop is smaller than expected with no seating inside. I came on a Friday morning around 8:30 so there was still a good selection of baked goods. Staff was friendly and patient as I decided which item to get. I decided to go with the ube ensaymada and it paired well with my coffee from next door. I recommend coming earlier in the day as they may run out of certain items sooner than later.

Just WOW & BOMB.GOV is all I have to say! I love those big shop. Everything was so tasty and so bomb! I bought a whole pack for my office and we literally devoured it! Arvin, Kym & their staff are so sweet, patient and helpful. Such an awesome ambiance as well so easy and there was parking to go into the shop for goodies and coffee. I highly recommend you get treats here- Arvin mentioned they do catering so keep them in mind for events! I will be back for all the cakes Salamat Kaibigans!

Everything from their baked goods to their cold desserts are so iconic. I love this bakeshop for celebrating and embracing their filipino roots. And the quality of their sweets truly reflect the thought and care put into their craft. I've tried their poptarts, bibingka, and sago, and none of them dissapoint. This is one of my fave businesses in Long Beach and I can't wait to try out more of their goodies!

I'm so glad I finally made it to this cute little Filipino vegan bakery. I picked up some ube macapuno cake for my friend's birthday & she loved it. We also shared some ube coffee cake & it was so good. The dudes who were working there were very friendly. It's a cute little space & they have a variety of pastries. Next time, I'm going to try their ube pop tart or their cinnamon rolls.

Tasty Filipino pastries in Long Beach. Went for an after lunch dessert. There were a few street parking spots available. The store itself didn't have seating but there are benches outside to snack on whatever you ate. Ended up picking up an ube roll. It was pretty good - ube in every bite without it being too overwhelming. The roll itself was moist and wasn't super duper sweet. I think it would have been a little better if it was hot though. It was a little pricey ($7) but was a pretty good roll. They mentioned they sometimes make a calamansi-flavoured key lime pie, would look forward to that.

I was excited to check San & Wolves Bakeshop, a Filipino bakery that offers vegan and soy- and nut-free options. I knew this was a first-come, first-serve type of a place, and that their items tend to sell out quickly; the hubs and I decided to make a pit stop in the morning, right when they open! I ordered: +the Chickpea 'Egg' Pandesal Slider - these were cut in half and were pre-made in the fridge section; while the flavor of the chickpea 'salad' was tasty, the bread itself was dried out and stale-like; also, there could have been more of the 'salad' for a better ratio +and, the Ube Bun - this was a large portion that could easily be shared between 2+ people; the center was the only part that was fluffy and moist, but the ube flavor wasn't really pronounced Staff were friendly, and the place is small and cozy. Glad we were able to try them out, but was a disappointing experience; not sure if it's worth going out of your way to stop by. Easy street parking can be found in the area. +vegan, soy- and nut-free +dried-out pandesals +easy street parking

I was having a bad day cuz I got caught cheating on my ex wife again. My sister brought me here to cheer me up. Definitely coming back. I got an assortment of goodies.

We love our local small businesses. I'd been hearing about San and Wolves from my non-Filipino friends and told my husband who immediately wanted to try it. Well, it took us a while to get out here and we did on their 1-year anniversary. We got an assortment of items including a strawberry babinka, some cookies, bitsu-bitsu, ube malasada, chili Orange custard donut, sylvana and a coffee. To me, the babinka was the winner. My partner liked the malasada. The other items ranged from good to too sweet but they were all well made and good. And what's too sweet to is may be perfect for others (younger). It's actually my second visit but don't tell my husband. ;) We'll be sure to return though whenever we're in the area.

My coworker and I were in the area for work, so we made it a point to stop by San & Wolves even though it's over an hour's drive for us. Parking was horrendous, but we lucked out and snagged the last spot across the street. We ended up ordering about $60 worth of pastries. I took most of them home, and my coworker kept the rest to try. The male employee who helped us seemed a bit lukewarm, maybe just tired? The service was fine overall. What we ordered: * Ube Cheese Pandesal (2) * Pan de Coco (1) * Chocolate Crinkles (1) * Pandan Cinnamon Roll (1) * Cheesy Ensaymada (2) * Ube Ensaymada (1) * Bibingka Cornbread (1) * Spanish Bread (2) **Chocolate Crinkles - 5/5** I would absolutely make the drive again just for these. At first, I was skeptical because they were flat--unlike the round, powdered sugar-dusted ones I grew up with. I bought one thinking it might be dry, but wow. It was incredibly moist and rich. I immediately wished I had ordered more. Hands down the standout. **Bibingka Cornbread - N/A (friend's review)** I bought this for a friend, and unfortunately she found it dry and disappointing. **Cheesy Ensaymada - 1/5** This one fell flat for me. The buttercream was perfectly sweet, but the brioche was tough on the outside. The inside was pillowy and soft, which I appreciated, but I wish they had chosen a better cheese to balance the flavors. **Spanish Bread - 3/5** If you've ever had Spanish bread from Starbread Bakery, you know it's typically greasy, very sweet, and best eaten hot. San & Wolves' version felt like a "healthier" take that's less sweet, with light and fluffy bread. However, the filling was sparse, which made it underwhelming overall. **Pandan Cinnamon Roll - 0/5** The bright green color practically screamed pandan, but there was no real pandan flavor. There was also little to no cinnamon, and the roll itself was dry. It was generously sized, but not worth the calories. **Ube Cheese Pandesal - 1/5** As someone who grew up eating fresh ube and all kinds of ube desserts, I had high expectations. I expected a noticeable cheddar filling, but if the cheese was there, it was likely infused into the dough--I couldn't taste it. The ube flavor was also very faint. That said, the bread itself (like the Spanish bread) was light and fluffy. I'd skip this and opt for the regular pandesal instead. My coworker didn't have much to rave about regarding the other pastries, so nothing notable to add there. Bottom line: go for the chocolate crinkles. They're divine and the clear winner--and absolutely worth the drive.

Our favorite is the chocolate concha. It is crisp, fresh, and has the slightest sourdough flavor. I tried the dona one time and while it was great. It was just too much for me. It is so well complimented by the cold brew and it's so smooth and not too sweet. My husband also liked the taste he tried but he went with my now second favorite the Dulce de Leche. What I love about this place is that everything is balanced. Its not too much of anything just perfect. The concha isn't too sweet. It's balanced by the sourdough which is complex. The coffees which anywhere else would be a sugar bomb are just right. The sugar highlights the brilliance of whatever it is paired with whether that is bread or coffee.

A quick tip if you order online: Make sure to go straight to the front and let one of the many employees know you are there for a pickup. They only call out names for in-person orders, so you'll be waiting a while if you don't speak up! I also tried their new seasonal sandwich--the pulled pork melt and the very popular nonseasonal sandwich crispy chicken sandwich. Both were very filling and packed with flavor. Just make sure to eat these fresh, as they will likely get soggy if you try to save them for later. They have a great selection of desserts and coffee drinks that I didn't have room for this time, but I'll definitely be saving those for my next trip to Long Beach. If you're looking to try something a little different from the usual spots like Porto's, I highly recommend checking this place out. I will definitely be returning to try more flavors!

My partner and I visited OBRA HandBakery for brunch after our marathon and this was a solid choice…read more It's quite the small shop with seating on the counter and 3 tables on their outside patio area. Parking - Free in a shared large parking lot, plentiful We were both intrigued by their potato balls, empanadas, and breakfast burrito in which we ordered 4 potato balls (2 chicken/2 beef), 2 empanadas (1 chicken, 1 beef), and 1 breakfast burrito to share. Our order came out in about 10 minutes or so, not too busy. Total came out to about $42 which is quite expensive for the amount of items in my opinion. 1. Potato Balls - By far my favorite menu items from the visit, they weren't as crispy/crunchy as Portos but they're bigger. Portions are big and it's filled with your choice of filling, very delicious, highly recommend 9/10 2. Empanadas - Usually I love empanadas but these were a bit disappointing on my end. They were softer than empanadas that I usually have, although delicious still but definitely not my favorite from the bakery. 6.5/10 3. Breakfast Burrito - Talk about portions, this breakfast burrito is loaded with ingredients, eggs among many other ingredients, super flavorful and savory. It does have a bit of a kick to it which adds to the taste, pretty good! 8.5/10 Overall, a solid brunch spot, although a bit expensive, it's still worth to check them out. Pretty decent tasting potato balls, breakfast burrito is big in portion and delicious as well, along with their empanadas which can be a hit or miss depending on the style of empanadas you like. Definitely a good spot for a snack even if you're in the area.

At the end of the day, that's exactly where I sat on the countertop realizing it's first come first serve. Our server was great we were immediately greeted. She took our order this place has a lot of bake goods muffins, cinnamon rolls, cake pies you name it. couldn't help it to order the cinnamon roll, which is pretty huge. Unfortunately the cinnamon roll is bland but pretty big good enough to share. What are their protein omelette which comes with a muffin or toast, picked out of toast and this omelette is all egg whites spinach, grilled chicken, breasts, peppers, onions, tomatoes, with cheese also comes with a side of potatoes, my friend, what are their huevos rancheros. I like how their jams are homemade which is pretty nice pretty busy so do you expect the wait time but it kind of goes by quick I highly recommend
