Everything from their baked goods to their cold desserts are so iconic. I love this bakeshop for celebrating and embracing their filipino roots. And the quality of their sweets truly reflect the thought and care put into their craft. I've tried their poptarts, bibingka, and sago, and none of them dissapoint. This is one of my fave businesses in Long Beach and I can't wait to try out more of their goodies!
Just WOW & BOMB.GOV is all I have to say! I love those big shop. Everything was so tasty and so bomb! I bought a whole pack for my office and we literally devoured it! Arvin, Kym & their staff are so sweet, patient and helpful. Such an awesome ambiance as well so easy and there was parking to go into the shop for goodies and coffee. I highly recommend you get treats here- Arvin mentioned they do catering so keep them in mind for events! I will be back for all the cakes Salamat Kaibigans!
I'm so glad I finally made it to this cute little Filipino vegan bakery. I picked up some ube macapuno cake for my friend's birthday & she loved it. We also shared some ube coffee cake & it was so good. The dudes who were working there were very friendly. It's a cute little space & they have a variety of pastries. Next time, I'm going to try their ube pop tart or their cinnamon rolls.
Tasty Filipino pastries in Long Beach. Went for an after lunch dessert. There were a few street parking spots available. The store itself didn't have seating but there are benches outside to snack on whatever you ate. Ended up picking up an ube roll. It was pretty good - ube in every bite without it being too overwhelming. The roll itself was moist and wasn't super duper sweet. I think it would have been a little better if it was hot though. It was a little pricey ($7) but was a pretty good roll. They mentioned they sometimes make a calamansi-flavoured key lime pie, would look forward to that.
I was excited to check San & Wolves Bakeshop, a Filipino bakery that offers vegan and soy- and nut-free options. I knew this was a first-come, first-serve type of a place, and that their items tend to sell out quickly; the hubs and I decided to make a pit stop in the morning, right when they open! I ordered: +the Chickpea 'Egg' Pandesal Slider - these were cut in half and were pre-made in the fridge section; while the flavor of the chickpea 'salad' was tasty, the bread itself was dried out and stale-like; also, there could have been more of the 'salad' for a better ratio +and, the Ube Bun - this was a large portion that could easily be shared between 2+ people; the center was the only part that was fluffy and moist, but the ube flavor wasn't really pronounced Staff were friendly, and the place is small and cozy. Glad we were able to try them out, but was a disappointing experience; not sure if it's worth going out of your way to stop by. We love our local small businesses. I'd been hearing about San and Wolves from my non-Filipino friends and told my husband who immediately wanted to try it. Well, it took us a while to get out here and we did on their 1-year anniversary. We got an assortment of items including a strawberry babinka, some cookies, bitsu-bitsu, ube malasada, chili Orange custard donut, sylvana and a coffee. To me, the babinka was the winner. My partner liked the malasada. The other items ranged from good to too sweet but they were all well made and good. And what's too sweet to is may be perfect for others (younger). It's actually my second visit but don't tell my husband. ;) We'll be sure to return though whenever we're in the area.
My coworker and I were in the area for work, so we made it a point to stop by San & Wolves even though it's over an hour's drive for us. Parking was horrendous, but we lucked out and snagged the last spot across the street. We ended up ordering about $60 worth of pastries. I took most of them home, and my coworker kept the rest to try. The male employee who helped us seemed a bit lukewarm, maybe just tired? The service was fine overall. What we ordered: * Ube Cheese Pandesal (2) * Pan de Coco (1) * Chocolate Crinkles (1) * Pandan Cinnamon Roll (1) * Cheesy Ensaymada (2) * Ube Ensaymada (1) * Bibingka Cornbread (1) * Spanish Bread (2) **Chocolate Crinkles - 5/5** I would absolutely make the drive again just for these. At first, I was skeptical because they were flat--unlike the round, powdered sugar-dusted ones I grew up with. I bought one thinking it might be dry, but wow. It was incredibly moist and rich. I immediately wished I had ordered more. Hands down the standout. **Bibingka Cornbread - N/A (friend's review)** I bought this for a friend, and unfortunately she found it dry and disappointing. **Cheesy Ensaymada - 1/5** This one fell flat for me. The buttercream was perfectly sweet, but the brioche was tough on the outside. The inside was pillowy and soft, which I appreciated, but I wish they had chosen a better cheese to balance the flavors. **Spanish Bread - 3/5** If you've ever had Spanish bread from Starbread Bakery, you know it's typically greasy, very sweet, and best eaten hot. San & Wolves' version felt like a "healthier" take that's less sweet, with light and fluffy bread. However, the filling was sparse, which made it underwhelming overall. **Pandan Cinnamon Roll - 0/5** The bright green color practically screamed pandan, but there was no real pandan flavor. There was also little to no cinnamon, and the roll itself was dry. It was generously sized, but not worth the calories. **Ube Cheese Pandesal - 1/5** As someone who grew up eating fresh ube and all kinds of ube desserts, I had high expectations. I expected a noticeable cheddar filling, but if the cheese was there, it was likely infused into the dough--I couldn't taste it. The ube flavor was also very faint. That said, the bread itself (like the Spanish bread) was light and fluffy. I'd skip this and opt for the regular pandesal instead. My coworker didn't have much to rave about regarding the other pastries, so nothing notable to add there. Bottom line: go for the chocolate crinkles. They're divine and the clear winner--and absolutely worth the drive.
i love san & wolves x3, it's a cute vegan filipino bakery- AMAZING pastries! Although there's not much room to sit or stand around, there's definitely a great spot to sit somewhere near by (PSA, you may be greeted by the friendliest cat ever in the neighborhood nearby.. don't fear.. just give pets and head to pastry heaven ) The service is always great, the staff never miss a beat to answer any and all questions. Also, they have a clothing rack with one of a kind pieces made by great clothing curators :) (grab them while they last!.. that goes for the clothes and pastries)
Very small bakery with no seating inside but a couple benches outside to sit. There's street parking right in front or you can park in the nearby neighborhood. I didn't love the items that I tried but I heard that they're known for the ensaymadas and original pandesal which ran out by the time I got there around 11:30am on a Saturday. I would be interested in coming back to try those items but would prob need to go early Ube cream cheez pandesal: 3/5 the bread was more doughy than I expected (not sure if this is typical since I've never had pandesal before) but they also didn't heat it up or anything so it was kind of cold. There also wasn't much cream cheese inside Pandan cinnamon roll: 4/5 I liked this but didn't taste pandan at all. This prob also would've been better warmed up
So delighted to have this vegan bakery right HERE! I love that it's popular too--I had to wait for a few minutes to be served, which is positive--glad people are buying here. We had a pumpkin chia pie which was excellent and the pastry was perfect. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is because of the 2 week lag for ordering a birthday cake. I probably won't ever have that much notice when I need a cake, so I would like them to get their operation sorted to allow more spontaneity!
Where have you been all my Filipino life?! As soon as I walked into this space, I felt the positive energy and warm welcome, and my ability to order delicious vegan baked goods in my native language is so special! I brought my sister from Seattle to taste what she's been missing! We ordered the cheezy ensaymada, ube with cheese pan de sal, ube coffee cake, pandan bun, and bibingka. The ensaymada was soft, moist, not sweet, and yummy; you must try this one! I prefer this ensaymada than the ones I grew up eating! The ube coffee cake was also moist and not sweet. The ube pan de sal with cheese was just like the pan de sal I ate every morning as a child! The bibingka had a different texture and subtle flavor, so this was decent. Lastly, the pandan cinnamon roll was favorable, moist, and soft!! Wow!

Was going to Reinne's place next door and saw how cute this shop was! Had to support local businesses Street parking only, I don't think I saw seating inside but there was a bench outside! The man who helped me was so nice and patient, even helped me pronounce the name of what I ordered because I couldn't Got a pandesul to go with my coffee, it was perfect. Not too sweet and went amazing with my coffee. Would love to come back to try more stuff! read more

I went to San & Wolves at 8am and found parking very close to the front of the store. I believe I was the first one there. As I walked in, there was already a line starting behind me, so, I felt rushed to make my order. I love that this Filipino bakery is so popular! I ended up ordering a Fig and Honey Bibinka, an Ube Cinnamon Roll and coffee. My kiddo who has a gluten allergy really enjoyed the Bibinka. At first I thought it was pretty pricey for its size, but, she loved it so much that I'm thinking of going back to get it back for her. I'm not sure if it was a little undercooked because the cornbread stuck to my fingers and felt pasty. I unfortunately did not taste the ube in the roll, but, it was a very generous size. The bread was nice and fluffy, and the icing wasn't too sweet. I also enjoyed the quality of their coffee. There are no chairs so you must take your orders to-go. read more

The service at this bakeshop is fantastic. I initially called to inquire about several items and both times, the folks on the other end of the line were warm and welcoming. This is a vegan Filipino bakeshop quite unlike any other vegan bakery I've ever visited. I do not strictly follow a vegan diet, so I can say without a doubt, one would never know vegan pastry can be so mouthwatering delicious! Ordered two chickpea egg pandesal sliders, ( yes ate them as soon as we got to the car), pandan cinny buns, crinkle cookies, a figgy Honee bibingka and a cornbread bibingka. We froze the cinny buns overnight . In the morning the buns were so tasty, lots of cinnamon and deliciousness! It's easy to see a lot of effort has gone into this lovely place. Get there early or call ahead to place your order, as they do sell out, Parking is a ton the street or in the neighborhood. So glad to have found this gem, will be back! read more

I've been wanting to come here for forever and finally was able to stop in during the week when it was less busy!! So happy I was finally able to try and everything I got was delicious and 10/10! Their Ube Pandesal and Bibingka's were my favs and now I wish I could eat them everyday!! Definitely just a stop in and take to-go since there is no seating inside but can still sit outside to enjoy! read more
Filipino inspired baked goods! Super yummy. The baked goods are not too sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed the everything bagel donut. It's slightly sweet and savory. The cornbread bibingka is also a must try. The bitsu-bitsu is spot on, crunchy on the outside and chewy inside. They have the weekend special buns. Tried one ube and one buko pandan, and the ube coffee cake. Everything was delicious. It's a bit heavy on my wallet but got to treat yourself once in a while. I was excited to try this Filipino bakery but it just fell short for me. I got the salted chocolate chip cookie, Spanish bread, and pandan cinnamon roll. The Spanish bread and cookie were both very dry. The taste and texture just missed the mark for me. The pandan cinnamon roll was definitely the best item. It was moist and wasn't super sweet, although I wish the pandan flavor came through more. read more

saw this all over tiktok for a while and decided to stop by since i was in the area! i got lucky with parking so that was already a plus. the store front is pretty small, so theres no seating or tables available anywhere. i thought most of the pastries were pretty plain, but id def go back for the buns as they weren't too sweet and light in flavor! i didn't taste much of a difference between the spanish bread and pandesal unfortunately * spanish bread * pandan cinny bun * black sesame bun * pandesal * calamansi chocolate marble loaf read more

I finally made it to this adorable shop! I've been cheering them on since their pop-up days in Long Beach, so getting to visit their spot in person felt like a full-circle foodie moment. Of course, I couldn't resist trying just one ! We orders the Everything Doughnut, Blueberry Cornbread Bibingka, Pandesal, and the Pinipig Chocolate Chip Cookie. Every bite was happiness in pastry form! The Everything Doughnut totally stole my heart -- just the right mix of sweet and savory. And that Blueberry Cornbread Bibingka - So good! It tastes like cornbread and bibingka had a cozy little love story. If you're ever near Long Beach, stop by! It's one of those spots that just makes your tastebuds happy. read more

The first word that comes to mind is, wow. Honestly, truly blown away. We ordered a small assortment consisting of ube coffee cake, turon, pumpkin maple brioche donut, calamasi loaf, and blueberry cornbread. The ube coffee cake blew my mind. The crumble was perfectly balanced with salty and sweet. The brioche donut brought so much nostalgia for us because it was slightly reminiscent of a zeppoli because of how light and fluffy it was. The calamasi loaf was light, but still citrusy. Nothing was overly sweet or heavy. Such incredible craftsmanship and care went into these pastries and you can tell with every bite. I see why this little bake shop is such a hit! Oh my goodness, the ube cinnamon roll was perfection. It's huge, and had the perfect ratio of cinnamon and sugar. The texture is like biting into a doughy cloud. It's easily the best texture I've ever experienced with a cinnamon roll. The ube sweet roll is fantastic as well. There is great spring to the bread itself, and the ube coconut filling is an ube-lovers dream. Also, the employees are so nice! It's always wonderful to support a local business that really embraces everyone. It's a takeaway bake shop for sure, it's a small little corner shop so there isn't a place to sit in the shop, you gotta enjoy these goods at home. Parking can be a little tough since they're right on the corner on 4th street, but it's worth it. Usually you can find a little opening somewhere. read more
All I have to say is, I wish San & Wolves were closer to me! This bakery is so cute, and you won't find anything like it anywhere in LA county. It's 100% worth the drive for Filipino vegan pastries. I tried the Black Sesame Bun, Bibingka Cornbread, and the Figgy Honee Bibingka. All three were so delicious, not at all too sweet, and had great textures. My favorite was the Figgy Honee Bibingka, which was a unique twist on the traditional dessert. Front of the house was incredibly kind and helpful. Everything was well organized and they even had a sale section, which was nice to see as nothing goes to waste. I loved that they were playing some pop punk - I will ALWAYS support our Emo Filipinos ~ I'm excited to come back and try more of their menu. Actually, they do pop-ups too so keep an eye out! First had San & Wolves at craft markets, and they would always sell out, so I had to check out the brick and mortar! I love that they change the menu and these pastries brought me back to my childhood. I especially liked the bibingka and ube pandesal. Although some items I got were hit or miss, I would still come back to try more! FYI - no seating inside, but a couple benches outside. Mostly a grab and go place. read more

A beautiful Filipino-owned bakery! The valentines cake was absolutely stunning and a super cute addition to our galentines party. It was a light ube cake that was not super sweet which was great for me :) Very helpful and friendly staff with plenty of street parking. read more

Heard great things about this place so I decided to stop by. The place itself is small and cozy. I was greeted immediately by the staff. He told me to take my time. I was doing just that. Wanted to make sure I got something I knew I would absolutely love. Im a coconut fanatic so I had to get the buka pop tart. I also got a pandan cinny bun. Im also a pandan fanatic so I was very excited to see this. Two of my absolute fave things. I also spied some pandan Sago and egg sliders, this place had everything! I tried the buka pop tart first, oh em gee the coconut filling was stand out! The frosting was a little overbearing, but the tart breading itself was surprisingly soft! Just enjoyed a lovely bread & baked goods run and was delighted by my selection of goodies. I got a number of familiar and unfamiliar items. Starting with the stuff I'm already a fan of: - Ube Cheese Pan De Sal - Soft, fluffy, & gooey sweet and savory filling. - Cornbread Bibingka - Sweet and familiar, perfect on its own or would be great paired with a savory meal. Stuff I'm now a fan of- yum!: Kalamansi Bar - Kalamansi is a Filipino citrus. If you like lemon bars, you'd love this. Its sweet and tart. Ube Donut - Sweet & chewy. Delicious! Kalamansi Marble Loaf - Personally I taste more marble chocolate than kalamansi but still yummy & soft. Coconut Mango Bibingka - Very tropical and summery, fantastic. Mango Royale - Sweet and perfect for a hot summer day. Lastly, service was friendly and welcoming as always! Highly recommend if you have yet to check out this Filipino vegan bakery. read more
