Country Home Learning Center has been an incredible part of our lives and has always taken such great care of my daughter. Their communication is excellent, and they are always responsive and attentive to any questions or concerns I have as a parent. My daughter has attended since she was 2 years old and is now almost 7, which speaks volumes about the trust and confidence we have in their program. We started our oldest daughter at this Country Home in 2009 when she was just 9 months old and she attended right up until beginning kindergarten. Since starting school she has spent each major holiday (including summer) at their camps. My youngest daughter started in 2011 and has attended much the same. We attribute a lot of their skills, manners, and success in the classroom to the time they spent at Country Home. Many of the teachers they had when they first started are still teaching there and great my girls with a smile every time they come. Many are on a first name basis with us and are in tune with our milestones and specific needs. To have that kind of retention (10 years) at a daycare is rare. We've watched some employees graduate from teaching positions to management positions and seen some graduate on to other locations. We've seen employees attend college and graduate, and have been invested in their future. It's reassuring to see a company that promotes from within and values the personal relationships that are built with the children and treats that as an asset. My children like to joke that they will just apply for jobs at Country Home when they are too old to attend, and I kind of hope that they do, if only for the excuse to go back. Summer camp activities are diverse and include things like Adventure Quest, Roller Skating, Bricks and Figs Lego store, Games 2 U, Kona Ice, Swimming classes, and much more. They have 2 outdoor playgrounds and 1 indoor playground. They also have a small splash pool that I'm told is pretty great. Lollipop day (Friday) is a treat for kids that behave. We thought this day care would be great for autistic son. They were able to take him in on a short notice. We filled in the paperwork they gave us on a Friday. He started Monday. By the afternoon, they called saying he needed to be picked up because he was running away from them. Our son has never run away scared from anyone. After trying to talk with the director. and I say try because she was rude and constantly interrupting. finally I told her she was being rude and unprofessional by not letting me answer her questions. She didn't like that and said our son was dismissed from their center. I demanded that they refund our money because of how she was acting. I would not recommend this center until they get a new director. It took our son two months to start acting his normal self from the one day at this center. We also found 2 bruises on him, one on his face and one on his leg. It looked like someone grab him very hard, so hard that it left bruises on him. read more

They regularly go over ratio with staff, do very little training, leave the areas filthy, one staff member struck a child and told her parents that she fell, and many other things. Nevermind how they treat the staff. Don't bring your children here. read more

Country home in general is a really nice daycare with a lot of options available to the kids as far as activities and etc so for that it's good, has a curriculum and an educational plan. But compared to other $1000 a month daycares this one does not come even close. First off they will find any way possible to charge you more money. I pay $250 ish over what CCS pays already for my child to be here. On top of which I have to pay an additional $1 / day (22 monthly) for my kid to have breakfast from 7a-8am and the cutoff is extremely enforced. Next the teachers. We had an amazing teacher Kylie and the other teachers are lackluster. They won't make eye contact when you speak to them, my kid is another number and a burdensome one because they don't have any backup or help and are buried in duties. Some care about the kids some care more about keeping the room clean and most just care about their phone. We are following our favorite teacher to a daycare just around the corner which charges no additional fees serves all three meals PLUS snacks, and won't threaten to kick a 2 year old out for biting repeatedly. After having family highlight country home as one of the best I've left sorely disappointed in the ownership and managements treatment of their employees and the staffs general love of their phones over our kids. read more

I've had my toddler daughter at country home on fredericksburg (medical center area) for almost two years. She stated when she was 1 years old. I've been happy with the daycare staff and leadership. Initially I was concerned that with such a large center, my daughter would be just another number, but they've happily proven me wrong. Anytime I've had a concern, I've spoken with either Directors - Veronica or Shahjala, and they have promptly addressed it. I started my 6 month old son (turns 6 months on 12/20) at the same daycare, he was 4 months old when he started. The best daycare/ school I've been to...I toured 7 schools in San Antonio and have used 3 other daycares in the past (I have 4 kids ages 18-5 months) and this is by far the best in education/curriculum, cleanliness, parent engagement, student to teacher engagement...the list goes on and on. They are Texas Rising Star Certified with a 4 rating, meaning they have the highest rating you can receive and because they are part of TRS, the school is continuously monitored with site visits from representatives ensuring the school is training teachers year round and exceeding the Child Care Regulations Standards. You will receive private school teaching for a fraction of the price. My son immediately started talking, singing, using his imagination more and became very independent the first month he was here. We saw a huge difference in his behavior and knowledge right away. He was excited to go see his friends and teachers, when we had not seen this behavior in the past. The directors have a camera system set up that is closed circuit to be able to watch and keep an extra eye on the classrooms or look for teaching opportunities. The last two daycares I have used did not let me drop my children off after 9 AM, even if they had a doctor's appt, so i thought this was the norm at all daycares but this one has an open door policy and is so accommodating. Their front office staff always knows my children's names and interacts with us every single time we walk in or out of the building. It truly feels like an environment that makes the kids AND parents feel at "home." While talking to different teachers and staff I have realized that a lot of them have been serving at Country Home for 10, 20, or 30 years...which says a lot about the owners/corporate when a company has such a low turn over rate. My daughter has only been going to country home for two months and she has learned so much. I had been trying to potty train her for about 7 months and she just wasn't getting it. In less than three weeks of her attending country home she was completely potty trained. My daughter is also an only child so she was not very social and I was worried about her not speaking as well as she should be. I am blown away at the progress she has made in such a short amount of time.She speaks in full sentences, follows directions, and interacts with everyone around her. On complaint is, like I said, it is expensive and they charge you extra for field trips. So keep that in mind. Unfortunately in the short span of 6 weeks my daughter has been sick THREE times. She is not a sickly child, and while new environments bring new germs, that is only my primary complaint. My daughter came down with a raging ear infection (illness #2). She asked them to call me/go home, however I was not contacted for over an hour. When I complained about how this was handled the owner was apologetic but still scripted in her interactions, justifying the reasons for the delay in getting her to me (and then straight to urgent care). I understand kids complain a lot but there is no reason for a crying child who is not eating to have to wait 90 minutes for her mother. As for the day to day, older kids (8-9 range) spend most of their time indoors, crammed into what is called a "theater" room (which is small 3 sided room with no furniture), an eating area , and an indoor climbing room which must be overgrown with germs; ALL of this in ONE building. It is chaotic and loud. There is a very shaded and nice playground outside however it is not utilized very much from my experience, I rarely saw groups outside and my daughter indicated they did not play much outside (30 mins?) I see a need for stronger enforcement of policies on sick children along with an improvement in cleanliness, itinerary, and communication. Please don't take your kids there. They like to go around the bush when they know they did wrong. They don't admit their mistakes and you catch their bs. They will try to make false statements about how you take care of your kids. The director has no experience with kids. When they call to tell u that ur kid got hurt. U ask them what happened and all. They say i don't know, I didn't see, the teacher is not available, or hold on let me ask permission before I give u information. When my son got hurt. I told them he saw the doctor and show them the paper work. On the state report. They didn't file the report correctly. They didn't put the doc name nor the diagnosis of what happened. My boys went here now my granddaughter attends. I have always loved the care and personal touch shown to us at all times. This place was amazing in 1999 but it just keeps getting better and better every year. We love all the different resource areas as well as the curriculum. They have several special amenities for children within their own facility that include indoor and outdoor playgrounds, a theater room, a resource room, heck they even have IPADS and a smartboard. My daughter has attended this daycare for a couple years now. They have a very friendly staff and have may programs to keep her engaged and learning. They also provide access to ABC Mouse which they use in school during scheduled times and can be accessed from home. They take the kids out on quite a few field trips to the library, the Magic Theater, and the park, just to name a few. I would recommend this daycare to anyone who is looking for a place where your child can develop and grow. read more

My daughter attends this daycare and she loves this place. She has been going for almost a year and loves her caregiver Ms. Mary. She has really developed her language skills increasing her vocabulary. I noted she has also become more outgoing and social since she started attending. The staff is courteous and sweet. They organize little events to get the parents involved and overall they do an amazing job. The place has a nice atmosphere and they have lots of things to keep the kids busy and engaged. My daughters have been enrolled at this location for nearly two years, and we have truly loved it. My oldest attended another (not so good) daycare when she was younger, so I really appreciate the organization, and structure of Country Home's model. The staff is understanding, and caring toward my girls- and I appreciate that I have seen little change in the staff of teachers (compared to our first daycare). No daycare will be perfect, or do everything the way you would, but Country Home on Fredericksburg has been a blessing to my family!! read more

Literally the worst daycare. I wish I could give zero stars. My son is enrolled in after school care here at this daycare they penny pinch you for money and try to take every time you have. I received a phone call on a Thursday telling me that I needed to pay $110 (for all of summers activity fees) within two days for my sons slot for summer. I had not given them a two weeks notice that they require for my son to end care. I called trying to figure out why I had less than 48 hours to hold a slot when I had not given a notice. They stated, "I could wait and pay...but he may not have a spot. However, there were only 6-7 spots left for the summer position and they are going fast". I thought this was absurd. I go to the facility to speak with them and ask them if he is gone in July will he have a spot when he returns? They stated, "Yes he will just need to pay half of the activity fee again". Why when I already paid the full summer? Also half is $55 of $110, right? No they said that they wanted $60. I called and complained to a director and she told me that I can "take my business elsewhere if I don't like how they run things". With that being said we found a new daycare for the summer. I go today to pay the last 2 weeks and brought them cash because they charge a fee if you pay with a card. Brought them $160 total was $159. I requested my dollar back. They stated that they don't have change. I said okay I can wait until my tomorrow and get a dollar then. Yes, it's only a dollar...but they try and get every bit of money that you have. The girl upfront, got an attitude and mocked me saying "she wants her dollar" and laughed to another employee and laughed because I was requesting my money that was mine. Seriously who runs a business like this? They want your money and don't care about anything else. There are cheaper, nicer, and better ran Daycare's in the area!! read more

Absolute worst place to take your child. Don't get used to any teacher because they change just about everyday. Oh and don't get used to their classroom either because you child will be in a different one every afternoon. Zero curriculum, inexperienced, and very rude staff...and I'm not only taking about one location...I've had friends pull they're kids out because it was such a horrible experience. My child has been going to Country Home Learning Center for 3 years. At first I really did like the daycare. The quality of the education and the warm feeling. However, over the last year the daycare has changed dramatically. Hiring unprofessional staff. The directors at the daycare needless to say only care about maintaining their pay check and making an illusion of what its suppose to be. My son belongings were recently stolen and the director of the daycare basically blew me off telling me that its nothing that can be done and they don't reimburse for stolen items. This is not the first time my sons things have been stolen. The teachers their stole his belongings to take home for their child(ren). Once again this school blew me off and said well I'm sorry. Sorry is not good enough. Stop hiring criminals because you are desperate for teachers. Maybe if you showed respect to your staff they we stay with you guys. I pay nearly $800 a month in daycare and you would think they would show empathy and at least reimburse me for the things that were stolen. Long story cut short. She told me not to buy expensive things for my child. First of all I can buy what I want for my child. Second it was not expensive BUT it was his and I bought it. If your staff or other parents can't afford to buy their child(ren) things it's not my problem. I am not sure about how the other Country Home Learning Centers operate but this one has went down big time in quality and professionalism. Seek another daycare center for your child(ren). We have attended CHLC since 2010 and while it may not be the absolutely best school, it is way better than most daycares in the city. My oldest son, he attended from 4 months until he left for PreK (currently an honor student in elementary). My daughter is currently attending now (6 months to 3.5 years old). Is it pricey? YES. But do I feel confident my child is well cared for while we are at work? YES! My biggest gripe is the teacher turnover. We get attached to a great teacher and then they leave! But then again, the profession doesn't pay well either, considering their level of responsibility. My biggest loves are the different playgrounds/play areas, creative play, socialization, an age sensitive curriculum, personalized care and attention. They have cool field trips, ABC Mouse access and daily reports. My kids both were/are happy when I dropped them off and when I picked them up. You can visit other centers in the area to see for yourself, but this is one of the best in the area. read more

Words can't explain how amazing this learning center is. Each and every employee is invested in the children. The curriculum is designed for each kid to improve on their skills. Before enrolling my nephew into this school he would only speak with one or two words. Within 2 months of being enrolled he was communicating with sentences. After taking him to numerous doctors and having various hearing test done; with each one coming back fine, the only explanation can be enrolling him here. I could go on and on about how much of a blessing this center has been for my family, but all I can say is check it out for yourself. You can't find a better place that offers education for this cost in SA. read more
