    Club sandwich

Very classic deli with an old school rustic country feel up in Valley Center. Tasty fresh vegetables, meat, and bread from friendly people.

Accessibility: pretty accessible place! They have disabled parking, the parking lot is paved and flat ground, and all flat ground to enter the building. The door to enter is a single pull door. There is seating inside but it is all high tables (not made for wheelchairs). There are a few tables outside, under a covered patio, with moveable chairs and wheelchair accessible tables. Experience: the food here is pretty good! I really enjoy the turkey sandwich and grilled cheese sandwiches. The kids like the hot chocolate! Masks: masks are currently mandated in California, and all the employees were wearing masks, but none of the customers coming in and eating inside had masks.

Yummy! This is a great spot. Delicious burgers, fries, and super tasty shakes. Really nice owner and service staff. Food takes a little long to prepare, but that's just because they are short staffed due to COVID. Order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. Dog friendly outside on large patio. I'm a regular here and love it!

I've always liked this place. Admittedly for breakfast, coffee or the occasional pastrami sandwich. But today's visit has left me reconsidering my eatery options. The attendant behind the counter was barely interested in helping me. And when I expressed have trouble hearing him, it seemed he deliberately spoke softer. Then after I tried to sign the bill with a dead pen he spent 60 or more seconds taking it apart instead of offering me my drink so I could wait for my food. At least this elicited an apology as he realized he forgot I was standing there. This place is not managed, it's scooted along because of few other choices. That will hopefully change with all the new homes being built. Pity.

Visiting Country Junction is like your car breaking down in some small town like Grady South Carolina and then walking into the local sandwich shop. Valley Center is about as country as you're going to get in this area and the Country Junction is one of the few places to eat outside of the Casinos. You'll figure out right away that this place is basically run by high schoolers which means you will get one of two experiences. You'll either get the energetic happy teen oozing with country hospitality, or you'll get the kid that hates their job and is daydreaming about the hundred other placed they'd rather be. We got both over two orders. Fortunately our first impression was with Ashley H who really did a great job making sure we were taken care of. After we finished our sandwiches we ordered a banana split. It seemed like not everyone was trained on how to ticket the order or how to make it. It was a 30 minute ordeal of them not making it, making it incorrectly, taking it to the back room for some reason, then calling us up front to pick it up.. I guess things are a little slower in the county... As for the food, nothing is gourmet here but they do an excellent job for what it is. The Italian sub was full of Mortadella, Cotto salami, Genoa salami, and Provolone cheese. A large size was enough for two people and they also included a pickle spear and a few pepperoncinis. The burger was on a toasted bun and it was also very good. Country Junction promotes itself as an "ice cream counter" but many of their thrifty ice cream gallons were empty. Even so, when we actually did get our banana split it was pretty darn good. Tips - The Spaghetti is a favorite - Be patient

But when I want the good stuff without all the prep & cleanup, Wynston's is where I'm going. The quality is top notch & the creatve flavors they come up with are amazing. Service is always friendly. My favorite way to enjoy Wynston's is the ice cream flight with 4 small scoops of different flavors. While parking right in front of the place is often taken, there's a free garage nearby they validate for. So, if you love you some ice cream, head on over to Wynston's. You can take it from someone who makes their own frozen sweet creamy confections, Wynston's is the really good stuff.

They turned a classic cake into delicious ice cream. The other 3 flavors... Obrigaderia Brazilian Truffle Lemon & the Blueberry Swirls Parmesan Apricot We couldn't pick a favorite flavor this time. All of them stood out in their own way. Such a cute little storefront...two tables inside, but plenty of seating outside. We do however have our preferred or favorite servers, food runners and hosts. We prefer and LOVE Monica. Her energy, intelligence, and smile are top notch. Andres a food runner has been there a long time who also has a great personality, and one of the few runners who actually remembers to bring you a requested item. These individuals we've known a long time, and believe they would be better suited as trainers, supervisors or even management. I'd include Tomas in our Patties favorites, but he was moved to Black and Blue Steak House. Another favorite restaurant at Valley View. We're also fans of Michael, and a few others I can't remember their names at the moment, especially an extremely likable, smaller statured food runner who was made a server a few months ago. Having been in management in the plumbing industry I know how important training in one's daily tasks and people skills is to a quality business like Valley View Casino, the only casino we frequent. Unfortunately, bad experiences happen even in the best of establishments. Last night at Patties we had a new server who seemed so serious, barely a smile. Which is fine. I don't mind that so much. Definitely not enduring or memorable though. She did her job well, and even checked to make sure our food tastes good, and if we had all we needed. My main issue came when we got our bill, and I asked her to adjust the tip. I realize how cheap that sounds, but let me continue. When we first were ordering we mentioned we had a lot of food we wanted to take home. It was the end of the month, and we had over a hundred dollars worth of food vouchers we needed to use up. We normally don't have any left over. She excitedly, almost smiling encouraged us to order our takeout right away with her, "otherwise we would have a long wait, if we didn't put our order in right away." We spent just under $60.00 for our sit down meal. Our normal 20% would've been $12.00 on the $60.00. Our to go order was just under $100.00, which I felt definitely deserved a tip, but not the 20% suggested gratuity that the bill included. Maybe we were being cheap. I don't know. The obvious anger on her face when I asked her to adjust the tip was palpable. I asked her to adjust the $32.00, "Suggested Gratuity," to $20.00, which I would've been grateful for the years of being a food server in college. She got 20% for our dining in, and about 10% for our to go order. Not so cheap after all. When she returned with the revised bill, she was so mad she could barely talk. Poor thing. Felt kind of bad for her. She muttered a couple of times I could barely hear her, but kept asking what she said. The third time she said clearer that we shouldn't order to go food with her, that we should go to the to go window next time. She should've been happy for the 20% on the meal, and 10% on the to go order. It all adds up over the shift. We definitely will avoid her at all costs. Next time we'll request our favorites.

3 stars (or whatever fits your vibe--solid but not standout)…read more Honestly, I probably wouldn't drive all the way out here just to eat at Patties & Pints. It's tucked inside Valley View Casino, about 45 minutes north of central San Diego, so unless you're already gambling, staying overnight, or in the area, it's not a destination spot. There are plenty of better standalone burger joints or pubs closer to home. That said, the food is good--nothing mind-blowing or worth raving about, but reliably solid for casino pub fare. We went with burgers from their signature all-beef blend, and they hit the spot without any major complaints. The deep-dish pizzas, wings, fries, and other apps seem consistent based on what I've seen around. Portions are decent, and it's satisfying if you're craving something hearty with a beer. Our server, Marcus, was decent too--just did his job without going above and beyond. Attentive enough, no issues, but nothing exceptional either. One thing that really bugged me: they automatically add a tip (auto-gratuity) even for a two-person table. That's ridiculous in my book. It feels like it removes any incentive for better service and just assumes mediocrity is fine. For small parties in a casual spot like this, it comes off as greedy. The place itself is clean and well-organized, which is a nice change from some casino spots. But it's pretty small for a casino restaurant, so it can feel cramped. Seating/waiting is poorly managed--wait times drag on, and the system for calling names or seating people isn't smooth at all. Bottom line: If you're already at Valley View Casino, hungry, and don't feel like dealing with the buffet line (or want something quicker and more casual with beers and TVs for games), Patties & Pints is a fine option. It's convenient in that context. Otherwise, skip the drive--it's just average casino eats. Good luck, and hope the slots are kinder than the auto-tip policy!
