Flavors and textures were a perfect blend of toast and crisp, and the veggies were still crunchy and not soggy. I tried their cookie for dessert and wow, so soft and not too sweet. This was a group order with friends who had been here before. They are not kidding by saying Tina's Deli is a hidden gem. All the sandwiches are fully customizable as to choice of bread and accoutrements, so keep that in mind. The garlic chili oil, chipotle ranch, and chipotle mayo spreads are all house made. I had the Turkey BLT with Avocado with "The Works", on a house made roll that they make daily. "The Works" includes mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, and chopped red onions. With the one inch thick stack of fresh, thinly sliced turkey and all those other delicious ingredients, this sandwich girl's heart was in heaven. I can't even describe how fresh every single ingredient was on this sandwich. Let's just say everything had a clean taste to it and not one ingredient overpowered the other ingredients. Oh! And I got a delicious house made chocolate chip cookie with the sandwich. There are daily specials. On Fridays, they supposedly have the best London Broil roast beef French Dip sandwich, with house made Au jus that is allegedly out of this world. Might have to make two trips to Tina's this week! My husband has been hyping up Tina's breakfast burritos and he wanted me to try them. We went on a Saturday morning at around 10:30 am, which is near the end of them serving breakfast at 11 am. We both ordered breakfast burritos which comes eith two meats, but I asked if we can sub the meats for avocado, and my wish my granted. They make it with eggs, a hashbrown patty, cheese, and your choice of 2 meats (ham, bacon, sausage, or turkey). They also offer a spicy delicious red salsa. I enjoyed it - it's smaller than your typical taco shop burrito, but it's still filling. Yes, I'm talking to you America! The only thing, for me, is the eggs needed salt. My husband had meat in his, so he describes that the saltiness from the bacon/ham complements the other components of the burrito. So, I say this, but still everything else was perfect. The eggs were fluffy, the tortilla was chewy and heated perfectly, the cheese choice was great, and they gave me a satisfactory serving of avocado. The store itself is located on a busy street and is easily missed if you weren't looking for it. Service is quick and friendly, the menu is quite extensive with lots of options to choose from. I'm doing some training nearby and asked about this place, was told it was great. I'll be very honest from the outside I wasn't sure what to expect. Once you step inside it's always hustlin and bustlin and the deli is super clean and organized. There was a very nice woman at the register with a ball cap, she greeted me right away and was super friendly, even the staff in the back preparing food give off such a positive energy. I ordered the toasted club and the sandwich was sooo good. Now I did have lunch here a couple more times, having the blt and chicken club. Both sandwiches were too delicious that I forgot to take pictures and the most amazing thing? That same friendly woman knew my name after only a couple visits.....and they're busy often so that really just blew my mind. If possible I would give Tina's 10 stars.....the food is delicious and the only thing better than the food is the welcoming customer service. I go to st Augustine nearby and rarely go out to lunch, but when I do, Tina's is the ultimate choice. Their sandwiches are so fresh with amazing ingredients and so much love goes into every order. They have a good variety of sandwiches and it was crowded when I went there at lunchtime. There are a few tables but this strikes me as more of a to-go location. Plenty of parking. It's not near anything else and seems to serve some of the businesses around it. I'd like to come back and try other sandwiches but it'll be awhile as I'm just not willing to pay these prices on a routine basis. The price on the chips is just price gouging. I've long been on the hunt for San Diego County's best Italian sub and I think I found it at Tina's. I just finished one of their spicy Italian subs and it is hands down my favorite. Lots of meat, delicious toppings, and the spicy giardiniera takes it over the top. As many people can probably relate: as soon as you find something you like, it either disappears from the menu or it gets worse the next time you have it. So the question is: will this item stay on the menu? and will it be as good on the 2nd, 10th, or 50th time I have it? Time will tell... but for now: 5 stars. Wow! We had heard about this place for years but did not know where it was located. Finally we located it and went in 15 minutes before closing. They were so nice and friendly. She also brought out our food to us. My husband and I both ordered Rueben's. He asked for extra kraut on his. After the first bite, I realized I should have requested extra kraut on mine. It was too little. You need the tang of the kraut. Otherwise the Rueben's were fresh and delicious. He got the macaroni salad and I got the potato salad. Both salads were excellent. They are made on the premisses and were delicious. It is truly delightful that the staff were so cheerful and accommodating. A lot of places sorta give off an air of annoyance.
