Ever find that place you want to go to almost every week or multiple times a week to get the same 2 dishes? This is that spot for locals and travelers alike. Right off of 101, it is a no fuss joint, full of wonderful speedy staff, who take pride in bringing you that breakfast or lunch that meets your expectations. Try their chocolate pancakes with a side of peanut butter - it'll give you that food hug you were longing for.

Simple but delish, I tried the biscuits and gravy. Their green salsa was amazing(not pictured).

Just a little restaurant off the 101 in Prunedale. Inexpensive but doable. I would recommend trying. Dogs are allowed to sit at or on the counter, so there's that. But nice family and friendly place. Wait staff is very friendly and personable. The inside looks like a barn and to me it's Kool cause that's where I grew up. They even have a hen roosting in the rafters! And a real barn door in the back! Kool place..

We finally got the chance to check it out. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The Prunedale Market is located along side the highway 101 freeway in the small town of Prunedale. It just takes a few long right turns to get there. Parking is easy and accessible out in the front parking lot. From the front, the market does not look like a popular BBQ spot. It looks like a simple small market store to grab quick snacks and drinks. Once inside there is a BBQ and deli section to your right. A small dining area is to your left. The decor is old fashioned and quaint. The 2 gentlemen greet you with friendly hospitality. We ordered the Tri tip sandwich, half slab of ribs which includes 2 potatoes and a cup of corn chowder. The pit master/owner Martin, who use to work for Original Joe's, was kind enough to also include a quarter chicken leg, a sausage, and extra ribs. It was so much food for our party of 3. Everything was delicious and hearty. The Tri tip sandwich was scrumptious with the flaming Fritos adding a nice crunchy texture and kick with every bite. The ribs were juicy and smokey. Potatoes complemented very well with the rest of the meat and chicken. Corn chowder was so tasty and creamy. I did not know corn chowder was that good. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the Prunedale Market. The staff were super nice and accommodating. They even offered for our son to grab some free ice cream to go. We politely declined. The prices were very reasonable. All that food fed us for the next 2 days. Lol. We hope to be back when we are in the area with other friends and family.

They always have different soups of the day, and lately I've really been enjoying their vegetarian chili bean soup. The brownie muffin is hands down my favorite treat to finish off my meal. My only complaint is that there isn't a customer restroom. I often come here with my 81-year-old grandmother, and it can be inconvenient not having a restroom available, especially when you'd like to wash your hands before eating. Other than that, this is one of my favorite lunch spots and I'll definitely keep coming back.

The staff was welcoming and didn't mind when initially I asked to look around at the selection, then left to look for other restaurants and ultimately we came back after finding Whitey's burger truck for the kiddo. Ha! We are discerning - had to walk both shopping centers to figure out food. When we returned I asked and they said it was ok to bring her burger in. It's a casual spot, hand sanitize, then grab a plate or pie tin and fill up. They had signs that they have farmer relationships and no local issue of cyclospora. Yes..we took the risk. They have salad basics - greens, kale, spinach, arugula. Plus they have a few mayo based salads like pasta and potato salad. Plus randomly there was curtido (cabbage slaw) and I think nopales! The only bummer is Salad Shoppe doesn't have a bathroom - they suggested wingstop next door.

And I luv pastries and baked goods especially if they're authentically fresh made from local bakeries not franchises. So even though we were on a time schedule, I made time to check out this place. So glad I did. Delicious baked items at reasonable prices. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by a young woman that had the best smile and attitude. She was super helpful. I chatted her up a bit and found out they opened in 2021 and it's a family business. The recipes are family recipes. Luv that! Also I had to ask about the prices, there are no prices marked for the baked goods. The case had cookies, cream pies (whole and slices), croissants, muffins, scones, cream puffs, eclairs, mini fruit tarts, cheesecake (whole and slices), and danishes. They all were just so gorgeous. Sitting so pretty in the case. We bought a carrot cake muffin, slice of banana cream pie, a Grandpa David's peanut butter cookie, and a chocolate chip cookie. The cashier packaged everything carefully and provided napkins and forks. The muffins were big, fat and hefty sized. The carrot cake muffin was moist but not so much that it fell apart. So darn good. The frosting was heavenly, not too sweet and just the prefect consistency. I devoured that right away in the car. While I was inhaling the muffin, Hubs scarfed down the banana cream pie slice. The cookies were nice "biggish" size. These cookies were moist, which I prefer over crisp crunchy ones. Grandma Dave's PB was one of the best PB cookies I've ever had. They are also have breakfast menu and lunch menu (burgers, sandwiches, and salads). The place is very small with few two person tables. It's more of takeout place.

I chose this restaurant because i have a love of sandwiches , primarily in my area of Salinas... some other places that have been around for a very long time so read my review with that in mind please... As much as i enjoy giving 5 stars reviews to promote new and older businesses local! i must be very honest. I ordered a turkey sandwich with garlic pesto sauce, added extra meat and it came with cheese and lettuce tomatoes. i love sourdough a lot... my bread was very difficult to even bite into literally. I have to say the meat was minimal a thin slice of cheese and i could barely see the added avacado we added. i was hungry the size of sandwich as or looked big 8 inch. i as handed my sandwich and hubby says i hope you enjoy as it was $25 for the sandwich so i knew before i unwrapped it! I'm sorry, but i probably would have to give a 2 for the sauce taste of a hint of garlic pesto sauce is green usually and overall this sandwich was just A lot of "bread" not worth $25 i feel it could of been better ! for the extras we added and barely saw any of it period. In my opinion people making sandwiches either didn't weigh the amount of meats out in sandwiches and don't understand the extra and how much it costed. The presentation of sandwich was very professional. but not worth $25 at all. I hope management sees this review because i was hoping this would have been my new place for a good sandwich. the menu has so many selections. but unfortunately i can't see chancing spending $50 for two sandwich meals also side note: i didn't order full meal either no chips of drink. please give quality and quantity new time to avoid un happy customers. thanks anyways, i hope this place improves for future customers and maybe one day i'll try again?! just a lot of $$ for very little food and mostly bread and way to hard to eat... regards, Corina

My wife is vegan, and I love vegan food, so we decided to take a Sunday drive and check out the brunch offerings! Upon arriving, we quickly came to realize that space is super limited inside. There's really just one spot right inside the door. There were two tables out in front, however it was raining and that wasn't going to work for us. We did eye one other table inside, and they quickly cleared it off and were super willing to accommodate us, especially since we mentioned we had come down from San Jose in the rain, and had been looking forward to the experience. After looking at photos online, it's possible there might be a patio in the back, but again, my guess is it would be weather permitting. Just a heads up to plan accordingly when coming here, as space is limited. Rafael operates the Cali Caffeine part of the business, and right away he made me a very tasty vanilla americano, and my wife had a specialty latte made with oatmilk. Super good and paired wonderfully with our food. Maria operates Cultiva, and is the chef and prepares the food. She was so warm and welcoming, and she made us some of the best vegan dishes we've had outside of our own home. We ordered three items and shared: Waffle - Banana Brulee, Cinnamon, Maple Syrup Chilaquiles - House Red Sauce, Corn Chips, Crema, Onion, Queso Fresco Milanesas with Famous Mom's Macaroni Salad - rice & mushroom medley "steak" milanesas paired with creamy, flavorful macaroni salad In addition to the above, we also got to try a side of spicy garlic potatoes, with chipotle sauce, spring onions, and arugula. The food was incredible and the flavors were delectable! Everything was made with thought and care, and it truly came through in every bite. We are so glad we took the drive out and met these wonderful people, ate some delicious food, and had an amazing experience. Can't wait to come back again. Thank you so much Maria and Rafael!

To-go bag came fully loaded with chips salsa and avocado dressing which I appreciated. Everyone seemed cool there and they were playing music in the back and having fun which was good to see they have a positive work culture here. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and would rate them a 6/10. Raw red onions on top seemed out of place and it was covered in way too much cheese that wasn't melted so I removed that.
