We stopped in at this restaurant today and really enjoyed it- what a treat! The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting. The staff members were so friendly! I didn't catch our server's name, but she was very kind and attentive to our needs. More accurately, it seemed she actually anticipated our needs! The food was good with practically no wait time! This business runs like a well-oiled machine! They definitely know how to cook an egg well! This place reminds me of those small country towns in movies that you wish you could visit! It was a treat to actually visit a place like that! The staff and customers alike just had that "good people" vibe about them. Great Service! Hard to choose what to order as the menu is very complete. Extremely fair prices and fast service. I like the handle on the interior sliding barn door to the restrooms. Ima, the manager is such a gracious host and her exceptional service could not be any finer. She even made a special sauce for me to try with my crispy chicken salad and it was "Delish!" Great Food, Even Better Service ! My spouse and I stop and eat here whenever we head North towards the Bay area. We stopped by at 9:30 am on the Saturday (the day before Easter) and the lot was full, the restaurant was packed. We were seated immediately, we ordered our favorites, and as always we received our food quickly from the great staff of this restaurant. Even though the place was packed, the service stayed at the high level we are used to. The difference in this restaurant is that customers are served not just by the server, but by the entire staff comes by to see if you need anything. What can I say about this amazing spot? I happened upon it in what I would deem a "happy accident". My car broke down around the corner. I was able to safely get it into the parking lot after some panicking. I came in for coffee and a bite, while waiting for help to arrive. The service was out of this world and the food is phenomenal. I ordered the 101 special burger (with added jalapeños and pepper Jack) and it was so fresh, and seriously fantastic! They were incredibly sweet and empathetic to my situation and I will absolutely be back whenever I am down this way. They greeted almost everyone who came in the door by name. I finally stumbled across this gem this year which is unfortunate it took me so long to. I always drove by and saw how busy it was but never thought it was a delicious as it is. The servers were knowledgeable, coordinated, and friendly. We sat at the counter with a full view of the kitchen. It was organized chaos in the best way possible. The servers only spoke/understood English, but the cooks and kitchen staff only spoke/understood Spanish. Yet all ran smoothly. The food was delicious. Especially the biscuits and gravy. Brenda made us our own extra strong pop of coffee when we told her we had a long drive back to LA. This is my 1st time here. They do have outside sitting. It's a lovely patio setting with picnic tables that are arranged 6 feet apart. It is covered by a canopy. It was very clean. Inside was also very clean and well organized. The staff was wearing face masks. My waiter was very welcoming and friendly. I asked her for her recommendation and it payed off. I got the breakfasts burrito with ham, sausage, country potatoes and a waffle. Let's just say everything was delicious and prepared in a timely manner. I also got a little container of their salsa. Let's just say WOW!! is a game changer. It's refreshing and it has a mild kick to it. It paired well with my burrito and potatoes. The waffle is a good size had a good crust on the outside and it was soft and delicious on the inside. The waffle comes with butter and syrup. We come here often. They redid their back dining area like a while ago. The food is good with nice portions. Killer biscuits & gravy. Wait staff is friendly and if you go more than once a year they will probably remember you. Weekends are busy, it's right on 101, so sometimes you get to watch a group of bikers roll in. First off, I have never heard of the city of Prunedale.  With that being said, my husband and I stopped in for lunch in the middle of a long road trip.  This place was as quaint and delightful as you would expect a diner to be in a small town. Service is still outdoors only in this county, but there was plenty of picnic benches with umbrellas set up.  Luckily, the weather was perfect.  The staff was absolutely friendly.  We arrived in a truck and trailer, and there was plenty of room for us to park.  We split the tuna melt and the grilled chicken salad.  Both were delicious options.  We subbed the shredded cheese on the salad for blue cheese crumbles.  The tuna melt was very flavorful and the potato salad was fantastic.  I even got to enjoy some white zinfandel.  If we ever for some reason need to pass through Prunedale again, we will definitely stop in for another yummy meal and friendly experience. read more

It's like Denny's but better. I kept seeing French toast passing by my head and I wanted it so bad!!! The ambiance is casual, staff is super friendly. Alright so went for breakfast as we usually do. You can seat yourself and they will bring you a menu. There is a front seating area and back. Staff is friendly. I've gotten the country fried steak, not bad. Nice gravy. Just recently got the waffle with a side of bacon. Tasty. The staff checked with me about the slightly more toasted waffle. It wasn't golden but a bit more darker. I was totally okay with that, but they said if I didn't like the taste they would re make it. Add the butter, syrup and a piece of bacon and you're set. I enjoyed it. It was a bit more dense than I was expecting but still tasty. Last time I came I got the burger. I probably would not get that again. The patty was so thin, it was overcooked and dry. I just wasn't happy with that, no amount of bbq sauce could have fixed that. I think I will stick to breakfast. Oh and they are on top of it unlike other restaurants. If they are running low or out of something, they talk to the customers and rush to the closest market to replenish. Satisfaction. read more

Woke up on Sunday not feeling too good. Stayed home from church but really wanted pancakes. I wanted to try a new place and friend on Facebook recommended Country Kitchen. First when you walk in, you feel like you for sure in a country kitchen. It is the place that everyone seems to know each other and the staff new many of their customers by name. Our servers were so amazing..never wanted for anything. My coffee cup was never less than half way. Yummy: -Country fried steak and eggs. It was all so good. The outside of the chicken fried steak was crispy and the inside was tender and juicy. Super smart how the steak was served over the gravy so the outside stayed crisp. I asked for the hashbrowns to be crispy and they were perfect. -Biscuits and gravy- The biscuits were so buttery, soft and fresh topped with the sausage gravy. Lots of chunks of sausage and they don't skimp on the serving. -Pancake- This is what we came to try. SO good. Taste like homemade. The best part is the syrup is served warm I want to go back and try the blueberry. -Hamburger steak with eggs, hashbrowns and gravy, So good!! My hubby ate it all up. The burger was super tender and again they did not skimp on the gravy. My hubby, being Hawaiian, was only missing steamed rice to make it a loco moco. LOL So happy to have found a new breakfast place. We tried going tonight for dinner but was sad they were not open. That is OK though...we will for sure be back for more. read more

My husband and I were going on a road trip and looked up breakfast places in the area. We came upon this cute little diner and loved it! The decor was perfect for the name. Very quaint country like setting with a sliding barn type door with a shovel for a handle. The comfort food breakfast was very very good. Our waitress,Deblyn, was very attentive and made wonderful suggestions. I ordered the linguiça and eggs over medium and the eggs are cooked to perfection. I asked what their specialty was and Deblyn told us about the biscuits with a three meat gravy. It was so so good. You know food is good when you are full but you don't want to stop eating.
