I live in Austin, but my husband recently moved to Rosenberg (long story), so we've been exploring the restaurants in the area when I visit him there. I have to admit I was skeptical of getting decent pho in Rosenberg having become spoiled by the great stuff available in Austin. Thanks to the Yelp reviews, we figured we'd give it a shot. Our cautious optimism was replaced by sheer amazement. We ordered a variety of things: pork fried rice, spring rolls, coconut shrimp and bun with shrimp & pork, plus we got some bubble tea to go. Two weeks later, we are still talking about how good everyone was, especially the coconut shrimp which is the best I ever had. This place is an absolute treasure. We were dismayed by the lack of customers during what should have been a dinner rush. Support this restaurant. It would be a shame to lose it. read more

Good pho, great service. Good sizzling beef plate. I'm Vietnamese and I do not recommend the sweet and sour fish/shrimp soup (canh chua) nor the wonton soup. The vermicelli plates were decent. Egg rolls were good. Do not order the tapioc drinks, the balls are mushy, slimy, and disintegrate in your mouth...not chewy at all. My husband and I tried this place since it was the closest pho around, and loved it. We have tried each type of pho so far, really like the combination fried rice, and the sandwiches, especially the Vietnamese ham sandwich our waiter suggested. Been wanting to try this place out for years lol. Funny how it took so long to actually go since I live like 10 minutes away. Living out in Rosenberg/Richmond area limits my access to good Vietnamese food. I hate the long commute to Bellaire area! I'm glad my husband and I finally got to try this place. Will definitely save us the trip when we are craving for some rice plates and or pho. I had the Korean short ribs w rice while my husband had the shaking beef plate. Both were pretty good. Spring rolls were nice and fresh. Peanut sauce was yum. Had their Thai tea which was really good in my opinion plus tapioca which I will say was a little too soft for me. I like my tapioca chewy. Will have to try their pho next time. I'll update my review once we get around to trying that. Their menu had more of a selection than Steven's Pho down the street. Walk in and be seated! Went around 7pm on a Tuesday night, wasn't crowded but other people were dining in and others taking out. I ordered the summer roll and B13 pho soup. I've never had Vietnamese food before so I was anxious to try it. My summer rolls came out quick and were very fresh. The peanut sauce they serve with it is to die for! As for the pho, it was exceptional as well. Came out prompt and warm but not burning hot. There is a credit/debit card minimum of $10, so be mindful. I will definitely be back soon. read more

I was so excited to find Country Pho on Yelp when visiting my family in Rosenberg, TX. My elderly parents don't dine out often, much less Vietnamese cuisine, so they were under the impression Rosenberg had little to offer except fast food. Thanks to Yelp we were off and running quickly straight to Country Pho. The first visit was for lunch and we were NOT disappointed. EXCELLENT food, large dining area, nice decor, extremely clean and tidy, comfortable seating plus everyone made us feel so welcome. This was my sister's first experience with Vietnamese food and now she is hooked. The servers were phemononal answering her questions and so attentive but not smothering. I enjoy soft lighting so this may be a personal problem but the fluorescent lighting was a little bright and harsh even at lunch. During our second visit the lighting did come in handy for my parents who have poor vision so I can deal with it since others seem to need the brightness. The Pho and soft spring rolls were delicious. Chicken and Pork Curry Vermicelli Noodles was as good as Saigion in Indianapolis and suddenly I felt at home. My sister feel in love with her meal and the fact it came with a fried egg made it even better. My parents were a hoot being introduced to a new ethic food. The soft spring rolls were a hit with everyone but the surprise of the evening was my father's passion for peanut sauce. He ordered safe with chicken fried rice but he asked for another bowl of peanut sauce which he devoured on his rice. Funny how he said later he doesn't care for fried rice but his plate was spotless and he's a tiny eater. I knew watching how much he enjoyed his meal as well as my Mother with her Shrimp Curry that it was a positive experience for them. I was in total bliss plus my sister was extremely pleased trying another cuisine from her norm. I have to express my gratitude to the family and staff on their patience and kindness shown to my parents. They were very nervous and unsure what they were getting into. After only a few minutes they were relaxed, smiling and comfortable enough to ask questions and reorder more of that "tasty peanut sauce." I'll be here everytime I visit Rosenberg or Houston. We were running some errands in nearby Richmond so we thought we'd give this place a try. We were pleasantly surprised at how good this restaurant was considering it's in a small town. I ordered the Bo Luc Lac and it tasted better than most Vietnamese restaurants in the Houston area. The beef was also very tender and was not chewy like some other places at all. The owner was very nice and friendly. When we said that we found them on Yelp, he mentioned that recently someone left them a negative review (now I see it's "Xio G.") and he was embarrassed and wanted to explain his side to us just in case we saw it, which we didn't at the time. He mentioned that there is a homeless man who comes in every once in a while and asks for food and water and they would always give him some. However, they have never asked him to go outside, the homeless man would do so by himself. The owner seemed quite honest and I doubt this "Xio G." had any ill intentions, so I'd just chalk it up to a misunderstanding. In any case, if you are ever in the Rosenburg area and crave Vietnamese food, definitely give them a try. read more

We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Our kiddos couldn't be pursuaded to order bowls of pho and each got the chicken nugget kids meals. They were good sized baskets and the kiddos were well fed. The hubby got a small (giant) bowl of pho and a bahn mi sandwich and I got a large bowl of pho and a couple of spring rolls. Aside from being harder to find than it probably should have been, this place ticked all my boxes! My friend KA and I have decided to try every Vietnamese place we can find :D or, well, pretty much any eatery we can find, we're not hugely picky! 1. Friendly staff that are attentive, but not in your face. They let us indulge in some cupcakes we brought in from another place without batting an eye lid. They let us take-away part of our meal, we ordered extra bits during the meal. They took it all in their step! 2. Large restaurant, plenty of space (we often do large-group lunches, so this is important for a repeat-visit). 3. Easy to read, understand, not too huge or novel-like menu with a variety of choices. 4. GREAT food! We started with the summer rolls and spring rolls, our littlest Pho-fiend enjoyed a bowl of soup (that we of course quality-tested and thought was delicious!!) It's not the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to but it's awfully formidable. The summer rolls are a must. It makes me feel really bad for the folks with nut allergies, as the peanut dipping sauce is so delicious I could eat it with a spoon. Love this place! Pho is great and the drinks are amazing. However, in the past 6 months i noticed the staff has gotten slower - not in delivering the food to the table but addressing the table at all. A year ago we would be greeted at the door and given water before sitting down. Now, in the past 3 visits it has taken longer than 10 minutes to be acknowledged at the table - rather it be packed or completely empty. This review is for takeout. I know nothing about Vietnamese food, so I have no idea if I ate things the way I was supposed to.....! Sandwiches were delicious and adequate in the meat department considering the price. We tried beef, chicken, and pork. Sugar cane shrimp was interesting - I really enjoyed chewing the sugar cane, as I haven't had any since I was a child. I had no idea what I was supposed to do with the (VERY fresh and tasty) greens that came with it, so I ate them as a salad and used one of the sauces as a dressing. ( I had no idea what to do with the various sauces that came with my order, so I faked it, and everything tasted good.) The chicken soup was very fresh tasting, and I thought it was cool that they packaged the broth and the chicken/vegetables/noodles separately, I'm assuming so things wouldn't get mushy. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. We're planning on trying it again dine-in, so we can be told the proper way to eat things and what to eat with what. As others have said, I am so happy to have discovered something *different* (in a good way) here. I would have loved to give this 6 stars, but see later. Firstly this place is really "a diamond in the rough" and quite easy to miss. Initial impression is a very clean and spacious environment with very friendly staff. My wife and I ordered iced tea and egg rolls to start, both of which were excellent. I ordered the pork and shrimp pho which was huge, wonderfully flavored and all around A+. My wife ordered the lemongrass beef which was a very meager portion, tough with gristle, dry, and overcooked. Since the first month of their opening, I have been bringing my girls here. The owner waits the tables, as do his kids. His wife cooks in the kitchen. These are truly nice people that make fantastic foods that we come back for over and over again. Since some years were spent in Thailand when I was young and 3 Vietnamese girls stayed with us for a while, I can say that this is the place for authentic flavors. I ordered a chicken Vietnamese sandwich and spring rolls to go, but I could see that other customers' orders definitely looked the real, authentic style seen in most inner-loop places. The food was delicious and pretty similar to many of the places in Houston's midtown. My only complaint on the food was the shrimp in one of the spring rolls was a little overcooked. Hands down, neither of the other two restaurants can compete with their flavor of broth, quality of meat, consistancy of noodles, and price. The broth there is one of the best I've had. I came here today for the first time as my friend introduce me about this place, but ...totally disappointed about everything. I ordered steak soup and soft spring roll, with a drink. The broth wasn't that special compare to the other places I have tried in Bellaire. Spring rolls were my appetizer but they were TOO BIG because of the overstuffed vermicelli. The peanut sauce was oily. My smoothie was TOO SWEET. The thing that made me disappointed the most is the service. Really bad. Oh my gosh we have found a treasure of a restaurant in our area. And in Rosenberg of all places! We read the reviews first and saw a few negatives about the coconut shrimp so of course we had to try. It was awesome. Prepared perfect. The spring rolls were great thought about ordering another order! Daughter was craving chicken and rice noodles. It was really the best I've tasted. I had typical combo fried rice. They made it Thai style with some sliced Japalenos and it was amazing. Will be coming back here probably tomorrow! So much to choose from. Oh! My husband and I are moving from China town on Bellaire to Rosenberg. This has sparked the quest for good Asian food. I stumbled upon this place so we tried it. My husband loved his pho. He got his usual with the round eye beef. I got the seafood (shrimp and fish ball) pho. My only complaint is that they left the tail on the shrimp, which is just kind of a pain when it's in a soup. Their boba menu is also tricky. They have slushies and teas. I ordered a lychee tea and got a slushie. I dont drink frozen drinks, but my husband drank it so it was alright, but it's just not what I thought I was gettng. The place was super clean, too!
