    Big Papa breakfast.
    R C.

Always trying out local food spots when on a trip. This was during a South TX Royal Rangers leadership conference where I taught a Bible-based card game. The restaurant was near my hotel. Waitress was hospitable and professional. I ordered Big Papa from a suggested best-selling breakfast section in their menu. Well, breakfast was alright but not bad at all. Just an ordinary good old country-style breakfast. Their grits were great. 5 stars mainly due to ambience and amazing service. The restaurant is homey and clean. The ambience was great.

Nice breakfast place. Not really busy on a weekday morning. Very clean with country and faith based decor. Staff were friendly. Banana Nut pancakes taste exactly like banana nut bread and were delicious. Solid cup of coffee.

I had a great time here and the service was pleasant. The parking lot is a huge lot shared with other stores in the strip center. The restaurant is pretty large and the tables are not cramped. The menu is extensive. I got the pork chop which comes with 2 pork chops, sliced potatoes, two eggs (made the way you want), and choice of pancakes or French toast. I chose the French toast. All the items were excellent and tasted fresh. Potatoes were a bit salty for me, but I understand everyone has their own preference. Will return

Cute little home town breakfast spot with great service. Our server, Alex was extremely attentive, never leaving our drinks empty. Asked if we would like any sides or condiments, checked on us frequently and even gave us drinks to go! What a sweetheart The food had very little wait time and was made exactly how we ordered it. Definitely a place you'd like to bring the family on a Saturday morning, or anytime. Friendly staff, very clean and a good home cooked feel. Thanks for your hospitality Alex!!

I don't normally eat breakfast at a restaurant. When I do it's typically Denny's or IHOP. My wife and I decided to try something different today so we went to the country scramble café. The place was was large spacious and clean. Unlike mornings on the weekends that were very few people there at the time. The menu obviously focused on various breakfast dishes with a heavy emphasis on eggs. (They also serve brunch and lunch.) If you want to get a sense of how well they prepare various breakfast foods try the Big Papi combo breakfast. For $8.99 you get: 3 eggs, 2 slices of Bacon, 2 pieces of ham and 2 sausage patties in addition to French toast or pancakes and fried potatoes! Everything was done well. However I did prefer the nice hickory smoked and crispy bacon over the other meats. The French toast was also very flavorful. Good choice if you're in the neighborhood.

Back then, I believe we used to have a flyer/menu from them that some employees ordered from. I visited on a cold day where most of the customers were taking their orders to-go. The setup is a little confusing at first, but you just go down the serving line and stop when someone asks you for your order. You can get a tray, or not, depending on how many plates or dishes you ordered. The ready area (for dine-in customers) is weirdly placed in the middle of the line and the spot for to-go orders is at the end of the line next to the last register. Once your order has been places, you grab the ticket and take it to a register. This setup reminds me of a little local deli I used to visit regular in Stafford. I will say that their selection of hot sandwiches and specialty sandwiches is limited. Most are 1 protein only which is probably how they can keep their prices so low. I asked the order taker if you could customize or make a hot roast beef sandwich or toast it and first she didn't understand me, then she just repeated the two hot sandwich options from the menu. I again asked can you make the sandwich toasted, then she said yes. The sandwich, by default, comes on French bread. I wasn't familiar enough with the menu to pick another bread so I just stuck with French. I chose provolone cheese. It comes out after a few mins and it's nicely toasted and ended up being a nice size sandwich with an adequate meat to bun ratio. The sandwich also comes with a pickle spear. I also added a cup of homemade chili which is pretty decent. The meat is finely ground and I prefer it to be more coarse, but the flavor was good. All of their entrees and side dishes have low prices. One of the best deals is the "classic" sandwich which comes with prosciutto. An even better deal may be their baked potatoes with 4 toppings for only $2.09 weekdays!

When it was time we got a call to come back and was seated and hosted by , she was sweet. Ordered off the main menu and got a peach tea, which was delicious by itself but I like my teas a little sweet so we got some sugar and honey as sweeteners. We also got the fairy water for the baby girl. (She loves it) The grilled cheese and soup is so tasty and comes out hot which is also good for a soup. The portions (Caprese sandwich and mushroom sandwich) were so filling but we ate it all, even the accompanying salads. We chatted and laughed and had a great afternoon tea in this quaint little restaurant.

I feel they put thought into the blends you could pick from. though it was not clear from the website that afternoon tea only includes hot tea and if you wanted the iced tea it would cost extra. it would be nice for that to be mentioned somewhere because i feel they spent a lot of time outlining all the other details on the website. the service that day was slow, i think there may have been just one server for everyone inside the shop and it was pretty busy. so i think that influenced that side of it. but things happen. overall my experience was great and would love to come back.

Have been craving for fries lately and when I saw Common Bond, was very excited but they didn't carry the thick truffle fries which I was so fond of in the other Common Bond. Still, it was good fries and the staff was very friendly.... many high schoolers doing a summer job so they are super nice. They have a rewards program running - once registered, $spent is $earned in points which can be redeemed later. Staff was friendly and seemed like some of them were high schoolers or sort of, doing summer jobs so they were extra courteous and cautious - it was very much appreciated The fresh pastries were inviting and they had a big menu of other eats too. For me Common Bond and their specialty small dessert cakes went hand in hand. And this bakery did keep up that reputation- they had some sumptuous looking mini cakes. Definitely worth a visit.
