The Country Skillit was one of those nice surprises you find on a road trip. We wanted a place that wasn't too far off the highway so we wouldn't lose time, as we were anxious to reach our next stop. Went here on a Sunday around 1 pm not knowing they closed around 2 pm on Sundays for the time being. However, our waitress was wonderful and efficient. She was cheery and a great conversationist! The restaurant was clean and there was plenty to choose from on the menu. Since we were there near closing time it was quiet and peaceful. We ordered the French toast and a skillet. Both were absolutely amazing and tasty. I can't wait to come back here! To note though, prices were a little more than what was on the menu but that could be because the menu wasn't updated, but unsure. read more

The food is delicious, but the service is incredibly slow. It takes about 40 minutes to get your food, and the drinks are expensive, almost $4 each. Some of the waitresses don't even refill your drink until you're almost finished. read more

The food was definitely 5 stars, service was fair once we finally got noticed. One of my pet peeves is sitting for five minutes and no one acknowledges you, as though you are invisible. Just a "someone will be with you shortly," or "welcome to...." is all that's needed. Especially when they are not that busy and it's obvious you are being ignored. But the food was not greasy at all and cooked perfectly. By the way, the cook was the only one who said "thank you for coming" on our way out. Go figure! read more

Went this morning to have breakfast. Ordered the Patty melt with fries. Patty melt was good, bit too much mayo but the Patty was cooked well and a great size for the money. The fries.....well I think somebody forgot they we're cooking. Clearly overcooked or in old oil. Picked out 2 that were edible. Left the rest. My wife's home fries were overcooked as well. The service was excellent unlike the 2 visits. Think we'll just try somewhere else from now on. read more

Live close by. First time visit. Enjoyed the Country Fried steak, was cooked prefect and tender. Really enjoyed all the gravy the chef smothered it with.
