One hungry morning, after visiting my family in the area my little family and I looked for a good place to have breakfast. We were looking for something generic, like Denny's, but we stumbled upon this place. We've always wanted to try eating here, but didn't know they had one in this town. We thought, "what a perfect opportunity to try their food." Upon walking in, the decoration looked outdated - I think they were going for the "country" look, lots of pinks, greens, and white lattice. It didn't really bother me much; at least it was clean. We were promptly seated and served. I had the Jeb's Morning Breakfast: scrambled eggs, country fried pork, country potatoes, and biscuit with gravy. The food was bland. Their biscuits were good (needed a little salt), but order the gravy on the side. When you order it together, the biscuit is served drenched in gravy. It made the biscuit soggy. The country fried pork was a little tough. It needed salt and pepper. The potatoes were a bit greasy and again needed some salt. All in all, skip this joint... You're better off going to Denny's for their Grand Slam - good ol' American breakfast. read more

My first time here and it was not disappointed! Friendly service and the food was beyond delicious! I also noticed the restaurant have Crepes which make me excited! After my food came, the service gave me my check which is good also because you can pay up front whenever you're ready to leave. It was quiet and clam, the staff return to my tables several times of I needed refilled or anything. Great service, great foods, great standard. Sadly, it only open nine hours I believe? We normally love this place but today's customer service was sub par at best. They had 2 bussers but there was at least 6 open tables unbussed and a bunch of people were waiting. One of the bussers took 10 minutes to finish one table!!! One of the waitresses talked to a customer at her table for 15 minutes while people were waiting. Our waitresses Cory is ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL, efficient, and friendly. Probably just a bad day. The food is always great. read more

Stopped in just before the 2PM closing. The special menu had a Fajita Salad and my craving was a salad (I know, at a breakfast place). Well the chef nailed this dish and I will return as it was done great with salsa and a side of 2 small tortillas! The waitress was very kind and personable! Worse customer service here, was seated fairly quickly and ordered food. We were served out food really quick, within 5 minutes. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was so hard the knife wouldn't even cut through the chicken, within 2 minutes of receiving my food I was given my check, couldn't even enjoy the food on top of feeling rushed. When I got up to pay up fron the waitress ran to the register as if I was going to walk out without paying. Horrible service and food will not be returning. read more

This is the place to come...if you want some terrible food. I asked for a straw, as I sensed the cups would not be clean enough. Much to my surprise... I ordered a pespi, and there was an open sugar packet in there. Sure enough, I had foreshadowed it. Next, our meals arrived and at first I was relieved, as I hoped it would make up for it, but once again I was disappointed... I ordered a waffle-wich and I could see butter dripping from it. Much worse was the taste. If you like eating spoonfuls of butter, then you'll definitely enjoy this. I feel 5 pounds heavier after one bite. We took a chance and tried a new place for us to have breakfast. WE LOVE it. It's not huge but the food was great. Atmosphere you can't beat for a breakfast place. We have been several times and it has become our 'go to' place. The staff is so friendly and so helpful. They are even recognizing us now. Country waffles serves breakfast and lunch only...overall good experience. Server was quick to get our drinks as well as give us enough time to order. It was our first time there so we ask for extra time just to over look the menu. We order two All-American plate and one Eggs & Bacon plate. My sister order her AA with country potatoes and egg over easy with 4 links and 1/2 waffle; I order the same thing but with scramble well eggs and hash brown, the nephew order the E&B with pancakes. My sister loved her plate except that the country potatoes were burnt; I mean you could literally see the black potatoes skins. My plate; I ask for well scramble eggs and it was just regular scramble meaning it was still gooey in the center no light browning on the outer, so I'm a bit disappointed. If the cook didn't get it right the first time I don't like to have them remake it (that's just my theory). Hash brown was alright could've been a bit more brown or crisper on the top. My nephew and I just basically ate the top part of the hash brown. The sausage links were good!! Pancake was good per my nephew! I would have to say I love their waffles; super crunchy and it does not get soggy with the syrup!!! Overall though there were some bad parts to this dining experience I honestly would give it a try again--we did go 30 min before closing (still no excuse to serving not up to par food). The menu had a good selection of food that's why we would go again. The server heard me when I said "well scramble" bc it was written on the order slip so it was the cook who did not make my order right. I honestly love their waffle though!! I have eaten here a few times as I live in Merced. I have noticed that the service and cleanliness has gone down hill. Next time you visit this place, take a look at the corners of the floor, the cracks in the seat cushions and the blinds. The blinds should contain enough food splash to make a meal. I think the cleanliness is a lot to be desired and has me really questioning the kitches and food handling. read more

Be careful if you an over sized woman sitting with a sexy man in Cori's section. She will insult you. She told my husband " Be careful, if you push it towards her, she will eat it". Jealousy will get you no where sweetie... expect fired when I call the owners. Food.... We both had Denver Omelets or should I say bell pepper omelets. My girlfriend and I frequent here for breakfast after our morning classes, and the the food is always prompt. The waiters and waitresses are always nice. On my last visit I forgot to leave a tip and felt awful. when I called, the gentleman that waited on us told me not to worry about it, he was very respectful and said I can tip him next time I visit if I would like. The name says it all, but I have yet to try a waffle dish! Next time, I swear. I enjoy the french toast breakfast enough to keep coming back. The cinnamon swirl french toast was not my fave with all the glaze, so I stick with the regular bread (and proceed to douse with syrup, yumm). This might be bias because I love pink but this place is gorgeous! Their country-decor is so inviting. There are beautiful paintings on the wall and faux flowers hanging everywhere. Seems like Country Waffles tried a little too hard to give a home-y country feel to their restaurant. Overall the interior feels very dark, cluttered and tacky, only my opinion of course. The food was decent. My girlfriend ordered a meat lovers omelette which had fairly good meat, however there were far too many vegetables in the omelette and the flavor was overwhelmed by the amount of spicy green peppers and wasn't very pleasing (and we love spicy food). The biscuits and gravy was very unimpressive, just one very small biscuit split open and topped with mediocre gravy. My BBQ burger was decent but very very greasy, definitely not the best burgers in town, visit H&W for the best burgers for a local joint. The fries were "meh" as well, tasted like they were bought from the store. I probably won't be back just because I know of too many other great breakfast places around. read more

One of my favorite breakfast spots. Really good breakfast deals if you go there before 11am. Breakfast specials range from $2.88- $3.88 I believe. Their strawberry crepes are my absolute favorite! They use fresh strawberries not the goopy frozen kind. Suuuper yummy. I recently tried the chile verde omelet and that was pretty good too, chunks of pork in a chile verde sauce served inside and over your omelet. Service is always fantastic, friendly and fast. You never have to wait very long for coffee, as there are several waitresses passing by giving refills. read more

For me the decor doesn't matter as long as it's a clean place. So yeah the decor is outdated but the food was terrific! They loose a star because the waitress gave us our food and was never to be seen again. Although their bus boy was terrific. He was taking care of us how our waitress should have been. He had a terrific attitude and made the bad service by our waitress tolerable. Wish I got his name so I could give him a shout out. We ordered the peanut butter banana waffles and the chile verde omlet. Both were outstanding!!! Definitly going back! Only thing if your going on a sunday prepare to wait a bit.
