After a long drive down the east coast, I wanted to give myself a break to enjoy some good southern barbecue. I ordered the combination and asked them to sub the latter for a half brisket half rib plate. They did that at no additional charge. That was probably the highlight of the meal... The service was alright....like it was just ok. The brisket was soooo dry and cold it was as if I was eating roast beef. The ribs were over cooked and beyond dry. The worst part was that whoever made them forgot to remove the silver skin off the bottom of the ribs. Best BBQ in LaGrange in my opinion. The mustard-based sauce is what makes it great. I really love the sliced (or pulled) pork platter with bbq onions, vinegar-slaw, and pickles. Yum-yum! Be prepared for a little bit of a wait on a Sunday afternoon (church crowd), but worth it! read more

Sad and disappointing. I have eaten their several times hoping that my pervious visits were just aberrations but sadly they were not. They have gotten worse. I am not going back. The last time I ordered the brisket , my wife order the pork and what we thought would be Brunswick stew. The brisket was as dry as beef jerky , I could not eat it. Lagrange needs a good barbeque place, I grew up in Troup County and know their are some excellent cooks in this area. This place is not indictive of the the cuisine of the area. I remember eating stew cooked in a pot at Gray Hill and at Bethel Methodist Church revivals back in the 60s & 70s. People took pride in how good a cook they were. They knew how to cook barbeque. Have all the old cooks died?. Lagrange restaurants has turning into a barbecue waste land. This sad place is a miserable excuse as a barbecue joint. I've had BBQ from here to out west, up and down. The beef brisket was ok, being a dry rub. It's expected to be a little in the dry side at least. Not the best way and not how I do it. But the Brunswick stew was the worst I had ever eaten. It was real bland and the tomato was big chunks that seem to not be fully cooked in. Service was ok but the over all is not worth going back. If I just happen to be doing work on that side of town, I may go back if my crew wants to eat there. But I'm not going out of my way for it. Only if its convenient. read more

I'll say we had a fantastic server. Hannah was great! However, our food was so dry! My husband ordered the plate with chicken, ribs and brisket. The brisket was a color I've never seen with a weird taste. The ribs were super tough and the chicken which is "famous" was very dry with little sauce. I ordered the meatloaf which was dry and overly sweet. The cornbread was good but also on the dry side. We stopped here on our way from great wolf lodge because of the reviews and I feel let down to say the least. A waste of $45 for us to walk out and leave full plates. I think the only person who enjoyed their meal was our 5yr Old with his grilled cheese. Was going to try the banana pudding but they didn't have any for another 20 mins and we didn't want to wait. Everything was gross... the French fries tasted like pickles and we're very greasy the burger was ok but it was kinda cold....

We love Countrys BBQ for of all things their super double meat salad. The pork and smoked turkey are delicious! But today we got another surprise! The BEST service and waitress ever! Her name is Amanda! She was polite, quick, wry attentive but NoT too pushy! I asked for her name since it is rare that you get this great of service! Food is always yummy! Ate there yesterday for dinner w family. Chopped pork was OK, but the rest of my meal was lacking. Not as good as the Columbus GA location. Skillet apples were crunchy. Fries lack luster. French bread not very toasty or buttery. Red sauce tasted like ketchup. Yellow sauce on table had separated so tried a different bottle. All sauces not too tasty. read more

Visited this local BBQ restaurant, was so amazed I went back the next day as well! Received Ms.Haley as our waitress and was very pleased, me nor my family had to ask for a single thing nor did we get low on drinks, or anything we needed! My wife is a picky women and she still made double sure everything was prefect and on time! My family and I have been here more times than I can count. The food is always consistently good. The staff is mostly high school aged kids, don't think I've ever seen the same waitress twice. They have a vinegar/mustard based sauce which is excellent to me. All around a good BBQ joint, just nothing fancy. read more

We eat here a couple of times a month and usually have an excellent experience, but last night hopefully was an exception. Service was unbelievably slow; our server blamed it "on the back". We had a couple of mixups in our order, which were quickly fixed, but my brisket sandwich was soggy on the bottom, and the top part of the bun was as hard as a brick, making me think that it sat under a heat lamp for a very, very long time. Had dinner here. Me and my son had a pork sandwich with pickle chips and ice tea. The meat was very tender and moist the bun very fresh. Tea was perfect. Service was very fast and a very large church group walked in ahead of us and we still had our order in 10 minutes start to finish. Will definitely be back. Order the onions in BBQ sauce I was disappointed only because I must have remembered wrong I thought they were cooked down onions in sauce and these were raw in sauce so my fault. My husband and I have been to Country's bbq several time during the lunch hour. The brisket was to die for......... moist and tender, it would almost melt in your mouth. But tonight my family came in from Augusta........... I had been bragging about how good the brisket was to my son-in-law who happens to LOVE brisket. I was so embarassed when we were finally served....... apparently the brisket had been set under a heat lamp for quite some time...........it was so dry and tough it was hard to pull apart, much less chew. The restaurant should have been embarassed to even serve something that look and tasted like that. I can't think of any reason to recommend this restaurant, or even to return to it again. Loved the bbq plates. Today's special Jerk Chicken Salad was beyond nasty though. It had some weird cheese/nut loaf slices in it. Just weird! Fortunately we ordered enough other things to go around. We had a group of 10 bikers looking for a good place to eat lunch on July 4th..We found it at Country's BBQ. My husband and I both had the chopped BBQ pork plate with Brunswick stew and slaw. The food was wonderful..Meat comes out dry and you add your choice of sauces on the table (sauces were mostly vinegar based and ranged in flavor from mild to hot). The Brunswick stew was great! Next time I plan to try more sides, the potato salad and collards looked yummy. Some of our friends got the brisket and said it was awesome. The homemade banana pudding is not to be missed. Service was awesome, we never had an empty glass and plates were promptly removed. We will be back. read more

Usually eat at their Columbus,Ga locations , this location is going to hurt the franchise's reputation considerably. Ate in the restaurant yesterday, Que stew was great as usual, couple next to us noticed our onion rings and then had us look at theirs, burnt beyond recognition, have no idea why they did not send them back, I hope they didn't pay for them! When I go to the South, I want to eat Southern food. I had the BBQ pork-ribs. The ribs were over-cooked the first time I was there. I had lunch there again and the ribs were under-cooked. However, the first time I ordered a baked sweet-potato and it was the size of a football. Both times I cleaned my plate (except for the pickles (I am not a fan of pickles)). The bbq here is well smoked and some of the sides are really tasty but man do they fail on consistency. First time we ate here we had chopped pork, ribs, and a brisket platter. The pork had nice smoke and enough side meat chopped with it (but i would have preferred a bit more). The ribs were just ok... they don't remove the brisket bone from the ribs nor the tough membrane from the back and the combination makes them hard to eat. The brisket was kind of "shredded" not sliced thin against the grain like i prefer it but it tasted good, just a bit chewy from the wrong slicing method. The beans are tasty, nothing glorious but tasty. The collard greens were the best side, tender and smoky and nice. My biggest complaint is that you never know what the quality is going to be when you go in.. the last time we went on a Saturday at prime dinner time and the place was almost empty. Every single item we ordered was like it had been cooked for HOURS and on hold. The pork was dry, the ribs like jerky, the beans mushy, and the side of "chili" my daughter ordered was pure paste..you could literally turn the cup upside down with out so much as a drop...someone scraped the bottom of the pot for that cup of goo. When it's good i think it's really good que, but when it's bad, it's really bad. Guys, prep those racks down to St. Louis style and get rid of that brisket bone and please pull that membrane! read more

me and my family went in and i ordered the hamburger steak with fries and Cole slaw,in which the Cole slaw taste nasty,my wife got a chicken tender plate with the same slaw and my oldest child got the same thing as my wife ,none of us ate the slaw,i had my 4 and 5 with us,they don't even have a kids meal,never been to a restaurant that don't have a kids meal,i got one of them a hot dog with a lemonade and the other with a hot dog with a lemonade and the bill was $51 dollars ,what rip ,my kids didn't even have much to eat,i will never return ,what a rip read more
