Came here on a Sunday morning and my group of 4 had to wait around 20 minutes. There is a small parking lot but the restaurant is along the side of Rte 6 so we parked and waited along the road. I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs and my husband ordered biscuits with sausage gravy and a side of corned beef hash well done. The sausage gravy was thick and the biscuits were soft. I also liked how the avocado toast came on thick multigrain toast. Would highly recommend getting corned beef hash well done if you like it crispy. I came here recently with my parents on a Saturday morning around 8am. Since we were there so early, it wasn't very busy. We sat outside on the covered patio. I recall last time I was here (a year ago), it was uncomfortable to sit outside. Thankfully, the room was warmer this time. I ordered an egg white omelette. Music is like old rock 'n' roll and light rock. My wife loved the Ava Benny, she said it was out of this world! The searving was so big, she could only eat half. We were quoted a wait of 45 minutes -1 hour, but got the text that our table was ready in less than 15 minutes! Efficient and friendly staff and top notch food. Dishes that you keep thinking about long after you've left the table. Huge portions that reheat well. This place gets packed but it is with the wait. Right off the top, I can't say that I was responsible for choosing this restaurant for my friend's pre-apple-picking breakfast, but I was responsible for the research that laid the groundwork for the pick. As stated, Countryside Kitchen was perfectly named because if you have an opportunity to enjoy a meal at this restaurant, especially around this time of year, you will come to see how country-cozy this restaurant truly is. If seated in the back dining area, you will be treated to a banana of fall colors and cute autumn decorations. As you wait for your meal, take it all in. The food and the service were amazing but it was the size of the pancakes that took me by surprise. I had the banana walnut chocolate chip pancakes. OMG! Slap your momma good. My son wanted to take me out for breakfast and omg!! he did so good by choosing this place. Food portions are huge and delicious. We were taking a pic in the front of the store when Rudy came out and offered to take the photo for us. She was very thoughtful and welcoming. We sat in the back contemplating nature which is my thing and it felt so relaxed and peaceful. Our waitress Emely was exceptional. I visited this place for breakfast with my family, and I noticed it's not very kid-friendly. The waiter kept emphasizing that children shouldn't touch anything. I understand there are holiday decorations that can intrigue kids and make them curious. However, the waiter's passive-aggressive attitude was a bit off-putting, especially since the kids were simply standing nearby, looking at the decorations. I'm torn since I really wanted to like the place. Heck, we drove 45 mins out of our way for a nice brunch, which, according to Yelp, has 5 star reviews. However, I don't think this is a 5 star establishment. The positives are the service, which was friendly, and the portions which as everyone else has noted, are huge. The heat lamps and outside seating by the wilderness with the birds and wind chimes are also A+. Added bonus was that the black coffee also tasted good, not burnt or watery. The issues we had revolved around feeling like the food was overpriced and underwhelming in flavor, one note if you will. I picked a coconut, lemon, cherry, almond pancake (adventurous mood I was in), and they came with jarred cherries inside and on top, kind of old tasting coconut shavings and almonds. They were also sickly sweet, even though I specifically stated I wanted a more savory pancake and was pointed towards these because they didn't have strawberries. And although I told the server I was dissatisfied after eating 2 bites, no offer was made to comp or replace these $18 cakes. My hubby got the Big Breakfast with sausage, homefries, over easy eggs and rye toast, and they were ok, but for $20, those are NYC prices for fresher ingredients, not processed ones. We also had the Buffalo Sausage Biscuit, not spicy at all, and ok tasting. If I had to make a recommendation, I would suggest to be sure to get it with the eggs. Upon thinking about it some more, I don't think I would recommend this place unless you're with a more juvenile crowd (kids, teens 5 people+) that can enjoy it. If you drive past the store during non breakfast hours it just looks like a cute little restaurant. I stopped by with a girlfriend of mine to catch up and wow the place was popping and I can se why. The location itself is rather small so not ideal for large groups but they do have both indoor and a small outdoor seating area. The menu has a great mix of both sweet and savory breakfast items with some favorites that have been recognized by national chefs. I personally got the holy cannoli and it certainly lives up to its name. This thing was the size of my arm. It was delicious but it was just a lot for one person. Everything that I saw come out looks delicious and would love to go back and try some others. The staff was very nice but were obviously very busy trying to keep the turnover fast. I spied blueberries, bananas, cinnamon, etc. etc. If you want more deets on those, look at some of their amazing speciality pancake pictures on Yelp! Nom! Since I'm a savory guy, I passed on the pancakes and instead tried a tasty omelet--the Sausage, Mushroom, Hot Pepper, Onion & Cheddar one--and the Jacked Jalapeño Hash (essentially corned beef hash but with jalapeños mixed in). Both were super yummy and highly recommended. Also notable at Countryside was the friendly staff. I forget our server's name, but she and another server she was training were both fun and made the experience memorable. I wasn't starving but wanted something tasty and satisfying, I figured quesadillas would likely be on the smaller side like I've had at other locations. Wow!! I was wrong. They were massive. Huge, delicious, mouthwatering quesadillas to start of my morning, So good! You also get sides of guac, sour cream and salsa with the quesadillas. They were hearty and they were definitely messy.
