One of the hidden gem of Carmel. Was looking for a different place to try for breakfast and George place was one of the top search place. Let me say first off food was great! Was already expecting it as there was tons of cars outside. Secondly service was impeccable staffs are apologizing for late service. Also ambiance is amazing a but small place but the place feels very homey. Breakfast burrito is to die for!! Tastiest and with tons of ingredients and vegetables. Ate half and was very full already. Their servings are not to much and not to small. Muffins are also very good, plus its not that sweet! read more

My dad has been raving about George's ever since they moved to the area. When we were in town for Christmas we finally got to go! We went on a Tuesday around 10:30- so there were plenty of tables available. I do hear that it can get pretty crowded earlier and on weekends. We walked in and were able to pick our own table right away. They have a lovely little porch area but there were lots of people sitting there so we opted to sit in the main dining room area. Someone came over and dropped of menus and took our drink order. The menu had a variety of options. I am a pancake lover so I went for an order of pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were HUGE and tasty. I also tried a bit of my dad's Italian omelette that he ordered and it was very good. I never would have considered putting marinara sauce on my eggs, but it was really a delicious combo! I look forward to coming back to George's place and sampling more of their menu! read more

My husband and I stopped here on a Saturday morning, pretty early I would say so there was many tables available. We ordered two eggs, bacon, pancakes, a fruit cup, and Irish eggs Benedict. If you go on a Sunday get there before 930am if you want to beat the church crowd. The waitresses are very nice and pleasant. A friend of our recommended George's Place so we took a ride to Carmel. We were lucky enough to get parking right in front. Street parking can be challenging. When we entered, we were told to choose a seat. We did so and a short time later, the waitress brought over the menu and took our drink orders. It was cold outside so both of us asked for coffee. And boy was the coffee was good! Looking at the extensive menu, there were a few extremely popular choices which were unbelievably reasonable. For example, I had the #2 which was three eggs, with home fries, toast AND unlimited coffee for $5.50. The hubby had the #3 which added meat (sausage links) for $7.45! When I saw the bill, I thought they had forgotten the coffees, but was told the coffee was included - unbelievable. Cost aside, the eggs, potatoes and toast were fine. Did I mention the coffee was good? And the service, that's another winner. Our waitress was so fast! As she ran to and fro, she made sure we were ok and wanted for nothing. I can clearly see this is a very popular place and for good reason. This place truly deserves a 4+, but misses the 5 because of the decor. A little outdated and clearly not a first date place. But we were happy and would gladly recommend this place for a nice breakfast that won't break the bank. read more

Opted for a breakfast drive to George place before we head out to Salinger's. We called in to make sure they are open. The place is very clean, properly spaced out tables in compliance to Covid related regulations. Another outrageous breakfast....I almost forgot that they have daily specials. These time we had the pastrami omelette. Hubby and I are not a fan of hash browns so I asked for greens on the side. OmG, they gave me sautéed veggies and just perfect pair to my omelette. Fruit pancakes we ordered were apple and blueberries. Coffee is good too and they have someone who goes around to refill. All were just amazing to include service and the prices are just outrageously cheap. Glad we don't live close by otherwise I will be a 200 pounder in no time. Btw folks, this is hidden gem in a Carmel and a great destination foliage drive from the city. It is situated across Lake Carmel. No reservations so come early. read more

George's will forever be my absolute favorite breakfast place. It is such a staple of Carmel and it perfectly embodies the spirit of the community. It's the kind of place where everyone knows everyone and you feel completely yourself and at home. I used to come here every Thursday for breakfast so I'm a seasoned veteran. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed. I almost always get an egg and cheese because they are Perfectly made. The coffee is pretty good (free refills!!!) the pancakes and omelets are also delicious and worth a taste. The atmosphere is very homey, the booths are comfortable and the view of the lake is very pretty. If the weather is nice, the outside patio is a delight. The food is very yummy and comes out very quickly. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly and the prices are amazing. Daphne is by far the best waitress, but they are all great :) I would definitely recommend coming here or even getting food to go. I've never left unhappy in any way and I have nothing bad to say about this place. I hope George's never closes. read more

I can't stress enough how amazing the food was. I had an eggplant sandwich and it was out of this world. The waiters were so friendly and attentive when you needed it. Let's just say I was never wondering when I'd get a refill of water. I highly recommended the toasted muffin. I never thought of toasting a muffin but I definitely will in the future. It was so good. This is such a cute, family-owned spot to grab cheap breakfast or lunch!! My friend and I came here after a trip to the gym and we were RAVENOUS. The place was packed with the usual Saturday crowd, but we were seated immediately and a waiter brought us tea and coffee. Everything on the menu was $10 and under--a welcome change from the prices in the city--and I opted for an omelette while my friend got an egg sandwich with a gluten-free blueberry pancake on the side. Because of the crowd, the food took a while to come out, but we enjoyed taking our time with our tea and just enjoying our Saturday morning. When the food did come out, it was delicious and a hefty serving size, especially for what we paid! When we were ready to pay, we were able to just walk up to the counter and pay, which is one of the many things I love about small breakfast joints. Been living in Putnam county for over 15 years and have never been to this place, unfortunately! Today my husband and I stopped by to grab some breakfast and we both ordered the baked eggs because we wanted to try something different. The dish consists of two over medium fried eggs over spinach and tomatoes topped with a very robust tomato sauce, mild feta cheese and slices of gluten free bread. It had to be one of the best egg dishes we both had. So full of flavor! Coffee was very good, service excellent and the pancakes looked amazing even though we did not order any.
