This is a great office and I've been going here for years! I've always been confident in the care I…read morereceive here and have been consistently happy with their prices and selection. Definitely recommend!

I've been going to Ashburn Vision Source for several years, and while the doctors themselves are…read morecompetent, thorough, and genuinely good at what they do, the front-of-house experience is consistently disappointing. The front-of-house (front desk and the folks that fit your glasses) are often very young, unprofessional, and not well-informed about eyewear or basic customer service. They struggle to answer questions clearly, offer poor or incorrect advice, and overall seem unsure of how to communicate with patients. For anyone getting glasses for the first time or navigating more complex vision needs, this can quickly become a frustrating and stressful experience. You truly need to do your own research ahead of time and know exactly what you're looking for before you walk in--otherwise you may end up in a nightmare scenario. Scheduling appointments is another challenge. Every phone call feels like an inconvenience to them; the tone is unhelpful, rushed, and sometimes even dismissive. There's often audible sighing or irritation when trying to find an appointment time that works. It's clear they don't want to be there, and unfortunately it shows in the service. The only reason I continue to return is because this is the closest location covered by my insurance. If proximity or insurance coverage isn't an issue for you, I would strongly recommend choosing a different provider. The doctors are excellent, but the overall experience is significantly downgraded by the front desk staff.

Spectacular care from start to finish…read more I have been to other MyEyeDr branches and always felt shuttled through like cattle. But this place was completely different. I was able to make a same day appointment. When I arrived, I found the location was was clean and well stocked. Melissa at reception checked me in and dealt with my insurance company mess up, which was not her fault but she was a pro and super kind and helpful. Then Dr Chuh saw me and was fantastic. He took the time to listen to my concerns and provide thoughtful advice after assuring me that everything was ok (reading my test results). He is very focused on providing great care, and I was so pleased with the time he took to make sure all my questions were addressed. Strongest recommendation for this location.

After speaking to a wonderful employee from myeyedr , who stated she would look into my complaint,…read morenothing has changed. The office still fraudulently claimed my son's visit was a medical claim. I have received a bill for my medical co- pay and now both my son and myself getting phone calls from the office to pay the co-pay. He went to have an eye exam, only an eye exam. Again nothing medical. DO NOT GO OR USE THIS OFFICE. You will not be happy with the service, even after being told they will look into it. Nothing done, just now harassment for money for something that was not done. They did not treat my son for anything medically.

Was referred to this eye doctor by a friend who praised the doctor, but did give me a heads up to…read morenot expect much from the other aspects of their office. Decided to give it a try because everyone has different experiences. Overall, I would say that my family had a great experience with our eye exams, very thorough and efficient. I would rate the doctor as 5 star. The front desk people are not great and maybe I just also had bad luck with them. Our first time as a family here and found that I had to make call multiple times to get a call back, they do not respond to text message (though they direct you to use text) and seemed unfamiliar with insurance/unwilling to figure it out. Therefore, it was fine overall - we got what we needed in the end, but will probably would not go back.

Avoid this Optometrist. Dr. Kim-Eye Institute of Reston…read more I had an extremely frustrating experience with Dr. Kim at Eye Institute of Reston, VA, and would not recommend them to anyone looking for quality eye care. From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
