Literally the worst experience I've had with a service company. They installed my heat pumps improperly causing a condenser to fail. I had to buy another condenser and it stopped working after 6 months. I have a maintenance contract with them and have had them inspected every spring and fall. I've been without heat since mid November, it is now February and they've sent out techs 5x to diagnose things and they can't figure it out. The worst part is their lack of communication, I've asked for a phone call from their service manager for a month and have not received a single callback. Apparently, I learned, this is a racket when companies are failing or have too many law suits. However, it's all the same people working there, by a slightly different name. I used them for insulation, unfortunately. Part of the work wasn't even done, and what they did do had to be redone. No return calls. I learned that one of their former employees has a law suit against them. Worst company I have ever dealt with. They took the money for the complete job (downpayment and balance) before starting work and said they couldn't return the balance because they were undergoing a public audit. They installed most of an HVAC system and then it didn't work after two days. They began removing the old steam system and flooded the basement requiring the hot water heater to be replaced ($2,300). Now they are out of business and taking no responsibility for anything they have done. When I spoke to someone at the company they said they weren't out of business but were undergoing a cyber attack! If anyone is suing them I will gladly join. read more

Quite frankly the worst company I've ever had to deal with, for any kind of service, ever in my life. Mike is a con artist, and will probably declare bankruptcy again then spin off a new, deplorable company, to scam a whole new round of customers. Check out this screenshot of him leaving the group chat set up for our install. Really shows all you need to know about who you're signing up to work with. This is after months of trying to get them to come and finish the work specified in the contract. The only work we were able to get from them after install was to rehang the insulation they put in our attic after the duct tape they used - shockingly - wasn't enough to keep things together. County Comfort has poor communication within their Mahopac office. We scheduled two days for installation and they missed the first day entirely and asked me to reschedule halfway through the day. Today is the second day and I have gone back and forth with 6 different people at their office and have not had my installation resolved yet. Unfortunate because I had family members that needed HVAC services and I was planning on referring them if it went well. We've already paid $7,000 deposit on a $18,000 job. We paid for a brand-new mini split system, and in the 18 months since installation, it has experienced multiple refrigerant leaks. We are now in the middle of winter, and the system has failed again, with the technician confirming the error code indicates yet another refrigerant leak. Despite having a 2-year labor warranty and a 10-year parts warranty, the company is demanding $1,200 to locate and fix the leak, even though this has been a recurring issue since installation and is not homeowner-caused. After spending so much, I never imagined being left without a dependable heat source and having to beg them for a response. To make matters worse, I was told a manager would call me back, and after two days, no one has followed up. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to ask very clear questions about installation quality, warranty coverage, and accountability. This business sold my 87 year old father a defective electric heating system AND failed to tell him that in that area due to the severe low temperatures possible he needed to use both electric and oil. I hired County Comfort Services, LLC in December 2025 for a furnace replacement and paid an $11,200 Deposit. The company missed multiple scheduled installation dates and ultimately did not perform any work. After the contract was terminated, I was told in writing that a refund had been approved and processed, including an email stating a credit card refund had been issued with a confirmation number. However, no funds have been received. Over several weeks, I have received changing explanations regarding the status of the refund, including statements that it was processed, in progress, or dependent on funds from a supplier. For 3 weeks I called everyday the following number (914) 354-3692 and left messages with Anthony and Alvin trying to get County Comfort to begin installation (Having paid upfront). Every time they had to reach out to the manager to schedule but never called me back. On 12/1/2026 I found a number for Julio Ramos and was able to get scheduled. On Dec 8 HVAC installation begin. Installation took one week, minor complaints. Installation is not complete as of yet however, the bathroom still requires a vent and subsequent HVAC. On December 18, 2025 during a walkthrough of the property I, the homeowner, noticed that some of the copper water lines underneath the HVAC system for the home were cut. Upon further inspection it was noted that all the copper water distribution lines were cut as well as the main water supply line for the entire home inside the basement. It was also noted that the irrigation water supply line was cut, as well the electrical monitoring system for the irrigation of the whole property. I immediately called Julio Ramos (Hvac salesperson/ PM for County Comfort Home Solutions) and explained to him the situation and sent him photos. On December 30th, 2026, having no response to my phone call, I called to follow up and sent additional photos. On January 5th, I received a call demanding payment. I requested that Julio come pick up a check at the site, which he did the following day 1/6/2026. After a walkthrough showing Julio the missing punch list items for the HVAC, the cut water lines/ irrigation lines I made a payment of $7500. I was promised that a plumber would come to the property the following week 1/12/2026, which did not happen. I was also promised that the team that installed the HVAC would come back and finish the installation. On 1/12/2026, I called Julio to get a time for the plumber but he responded the plumber didn't get back to him and he would follow up. I called him later that day but the same response. During this conversation I reiterated the inspection request but was told that he would have to speak with Joe who handled permits. After this phone call, Julio stopped responding to my calls altogether. I also contracted County Comfort Home Solutions for spray foam insulation installation at the property prior to the installation of HVAC, which was paid in full at the time of contract. However as a whole, County Comfort is non-responsive. I am looking for someone at County Comfort to return my call, address the punch list issues, address the irrigation/water lines and schedule a final inspection read more

I used County Comfort Home Solutions to insulate my roof. At first, they seemed like very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable people. I had gotten a few other quotes--they weren't the cheapest, but I decided to go with them anyway. Then things took a turn. While they were working, they decided it would be a great idea to run their industrial blower inside my garage because it was cold outside. The problem? The machine emits carbon monoxide--an odorless, deadly gas--which leaked into my house, where my son was napping and I was lying next to him. The only reason we're alive is because I had a carbon monoxide detector installed, and it started beeping like crazy. If I didn't, we would likely both be dead. Once I told the workers, they moved the machine outside (where it should have been to begin with). It was absolutely freezing that day, but for the rest of their time at my house, I kept all the windows open--because, again, I didn't want my son to die. As if that wasn't enough, while they were packing up, they managed to knock off my outdoor water spigot, causing water to gush everywhere. I had to pay $400 out of pocket to have it repaired. When I brought all this up to them, they seemed apologetic and agreed to give me a $1,000 refund in addition to reimbursing the $400 repair. They said it would take 10-12 weeks to process. Well, it's been 6 months. I've followed up multiple times--via text, email, voicemail--you name it. Not a single reply. Total radio silence. So, if you're the gambling type, and you're okay with risking your life and property and being ghosted when things go wrong, by all means--go with County Comfort Home Solutions. Jonathan and his team came in to insulate our attic. They did a terrific job!! Very meticulous, working quickly and efficiently. I barely knew they were in my house. Each day, they tidied up and left it cleaner than when then came. And the insulation work looks fantastic. They took up our subfloor, laid foam board, relaid the subfloor, caulked the edges and then blew cellulose into the areas closest to the eaves. Great project! read more

I would like to make a complaint regarding a heating and cooling system installation performed by County Comfort Home Solutions (DOS ID #5979962) County Comfort Services LLC (DOS ID #751881) Contractor ID: #WC-29418-H17 Less than two years after installation, the heating system failed during one of the coldest parts of winter, leaving my household without heat. Despite repeated attempts to contact the company as of 3/06/2026, the issue remains unresolved. My concerns are as follows, failure to honor service warranty obligations: The system failed in under two years. The company has not properly diagnosed or repaired the issue. Lack of Responsiveness: Calls are routed to an answering service located outside the country, and my messages have largely gone unanswered. Unjustified Service Charges: The company charged me for service visits where no repair was completed and no resolution was provided. Possible Business Misrepresentation: When I finally spoke with a representative, I was told that the company is "not the same company" that performed the original installation. However: The trucks display the same logos. The same phone number is being used. The business name is substantially similar. This raises serious concerns that the business may be attempting to avoid accountability by operating under a slightly different entity name, despite appearing to be the same operation. At this point, I question whether: The companies are legally separate entities attempting to avoid liability; or This is the same company operating under a different structure to evade responsibility for warranty or service obligations. A formal investigation into the relationship between these two entities, should be conducted and Enforcement of any applicable warranty or service obligations. read more

This is an incompetent and disreputable company that changed their name from County Comfort Home Solutions to this name. I assume they did that to try to escape the terrible reviews, bad reputation, and complaints with various agencies, under the other name. They caused an environmental hazard on our property through a rookie mistake, and they have refused to work with us and various government agencies and consumer protection groups to clean it up and restore the house. Furthermore, they didn't complete the work, and I now found out that they improperly installed the central system. I am taking a $10-20K bath in trying to address the issues they left behind while they ghost me and gaslight me. Meanwhile, they are harassing me to sign off on the ConEd rebate that they didn't satisfy the requirements to receive so they can get more $. Find another HVAC installer or company. I feel like I am reviewing a completely different company. They were knowledgeable, accommodating, and did an excellent job of blowing insulation in the inside walls and closets (these were not accessible from the outside of the house, and therefore the job was more difficult. It required special attention to neatness, and knowledge, and they were terrific. I had insulated the outside of my 120 year old house many years ago, and I am pretty experienced with "old house " issues. They had to lift floorboards the length of our house to gain access to blow in insulation. (I have a third floor that we don't need to heat, so I insulated the floor to create a heating envelope below). There were areas in every room on the second floor that had to be insulated. Fausto had to climb into a crawl space in between our kitchen and a bath in order to gain proper access. They were terrific. read more

We hired County Comfort in 2022 to install Heat Pump Water heater. It lasted less than 2 years, which is extremely disappointing. After initial diagnosis of the problem, they suggested that it needed to be replaced. It is under warranty. After the initial discussion on cost (labor) and questions about it, they refused to answer calls. Julio, who is supposedly the lead was extremely rude and unprofessional. I called them weekly for months then after, and they would not return my calls. It was so bad that I had to call the manufacturer and even they suggested that there was nothing they could do. My experience with them has been very disappointing and I cannot recommend them at all. I would give them 0 stars if I could. They offer poor customer service and have a serious disregard for work/customers. read more

We hired County Comfort to replace our previous oil boiler system with a modern heat pump system, and unfortunately I cannot recommend them for projects like this based on our experience. From the beginning, there were regular mistakes and hiccups in the process: they attempted to charge the full project value (instead of initial deposit) to our financing company; they failed to include a hot water solution in the proposal and it was only my noticing this that flagged the issue; they at some point lost/misplaced our "Manual J" load calculation; their lead installer arrived on the wrong day expecting to start the project; during the install it took multiple visits to get the wiring correct between our equipment and thermostats; our equipment was configured incorrectly, such that it shut itself off in cold weather; a promise to fix a duct volume issue and make our system "silent" was never realized; on multiple occasions trying to resolve all these issues service techs showed up at the house with no idea why they were here; they failed to include a backup heat source in the system design (I've since learned this is basically always necessary with the equipment we have); etc, etc. If only 1-2 of these things happened I could chalk it up to innocent mistakes that might be typical of a medium sized project -- and if the end result was great, maybe it's all worth tolerating. When taken all together though, it seems like there must be an internal culture which does not follow checklists or pay close attention to detail. Most critically, though - is that after struggling with cold temperatures in our house all winter we eventually realized that the equipment installed in our house does not match the equipment listed in our contract. The installed equipment is undersized for our house, and likely a contributing factor to the insufficient winter heating. When informed of this issue, they ultimately admitted that they ordered the wrong equipment and that's what is now installed in our house. They have refused to install the correct equipment listed in our contract (or comparable), and we will almost certainly have to hire another contractor to essentially repeat/repurchase the project from scratch if we want to have a correctly sized system installed in our house. I never expect home projects to go perfectly, but I do expect people to honor contracts and do the right thing when the mistakes are on them - and that has not happened here. My advice for the business is to improve project managment and introduce some sort of quality/detail checking processes. read more

Since the posting of this review, I was approached by the company's manager expressing his regret and doing whatever is required to mitigate the problems. I'm happy to report that the manager assigned a very knowledgeable technician who, helped by suggestions made by others in this field, seems to have fixed at least the major issue. The AC is currently operational but under constant supervision by myself to make sure that I do not have a flooded attic again. If I had this kind response two years ago, I would have not needed to resort to such harsh reviews of the company and I would've probably given them 4 or 5 stars. I used County Comfort to install a zoned, ducted heat pump system. Overall the owner Joe lied to us telling us we would receive an $8k rebate in order to make the sale. Said unconditionally "I give you my word" on the rebate Then the work was shoddy, the communication was terrible, and Joe was extremely rude in subsequent communications Rebate: I got several quotes for my system installation. County Comfort had the best price considering the $8k rebate that was promised. On a call with the salesman Eric and the owner Joe, Joe assured me that the $8k rebate would be a check that comes straight to me. Eric offered to write it into the contract, but Joe said "no, no I give you my word" and made some comment about how he lives in Croton too and so he values his reputation. After the install was complete, I asked about the rebate and was informed that it was submitted, but would take a while (up to a year). Waited a couple months and called Con Ed to see if an application was submitted and was told no. Then spent weeks calling the office over and over to try to get someone to tell us what was going on. Eventually someone finally called back and told us we were ineligible and that they didn't call us back because we were ineligible Joe lied to me and ripped me off for $8,000 Work quality: The work led by Matt was decent, but there were some pretty egregious mistakes. After installing the ducts and turning on the system, I discovered that they had cut a large hole in a trunk duct and forgot to connect the flex to it, so it was spewing heat into my ceiling. Fortunately this wasn't a finished ceiling yet and so I found it and was able to have them fix it This happened because they misquoted the job and when it ended up taking longer than they expected, they had to stop installation and change crews several times. When this happened, Joe told me it wasn't fair and asked me to give him another $2k. To be clear, I never asked them to do anything differently from the original quote Communication: Getting someone to talk to you requires calling and/or texting over and over. This includes the front office and Mike (Joe's son who runs the HVAC side of the business). Talking to Joe beyond the initial sales call, he was very rude. Literally yelling at my wife and I because we had questions when trying to coordinate the install with other work that was going on. He ultimately told me that I shouldn't talk to the crew doing the install, insulting their intelligence and saying they can't field questions like that Misc * they constantly demanded payment sooner than what was written into the contract. I complied because I wanted to show good faith and I was worried about them sabotaging * they asked me if i wanted the baseboard heat pipes removed, told me they'd give me a price, but then went ahead and partially did the work without my consent and then demanded full payment read more

We purchased a new A/C unit less than a year ago in August and have had numerous problems with it . And every time its 90 or more degrees outside It starts giving problems and they NEVER CAN COME FIX IT THE SAME DAY SO THEY DONT HAVE ANYONE FOR EMERGENCIES .
