    Burger and fried green tomatoes

Good food and friendly staff. We ordered to go- they forgot napkins and condiments we had requested. The burger was good- double patty! The tea was excellent. Fried green tomatoes were freshtastic! Love they use biodegradable products(even the drink cup!)

City Crust Pizza with garlic, spinach, extra mushrooms, and extra mozzarella cheese. Absolutely delicious!

My first time here and it won't be the last! Delicious! Everything is made from scratch here. The salad was as equally tasty as the pizza.

Best pizza I've had in Green county. Service was a little slow but not horrible. Well worth the time to stop and try it out.

If there's any in other regions of the nation, I'd love to know, especially if they ever end up in the Northeast. So after I was taken to a Bible Study, my brother finally took me to my first Cook Out. For those back home who visit the South, don't sleep on these! They will definitely fill for a cheap price. How cheap you ask? Two tray meals will only set you back $16 and change. To compare, I had to pay almost the exact same price for one meal at WingStop where I live! And for how much you pay, these actually pretty good! My brother had the Double Tray with a chicken quesadilla and hush puppies. Mine was the BBQ Tray with the cheddar bites and the walkin' taco. The barbecue is about as good as it gets for a chain restaurant, and the meal is miles better than any McSad's you would go to. The walkin' taco I needed a spoon to eat because that's how you get inside the bag. The cheddar bites could be better, but they're still about Wayback Burgers quality of food which isn't a bad thing at all. If this is how your typical Cook Out gets, then you got a good regional chain anytime you make a trip to the South.

I've tried a number of Cook Outs across Tennessee. Greeneville's location is, by far, the worst. At this location I can't tell if they are closing the doors for good and just want to get rid of things before the doors lock, or they've just opened for the first time and have no idea what to do. My experience at other locations creates a glimmer of hope at the Greeneville location, but when I try it I am typically left wondering how this location keeps the lights on, but the long lines prove me wrong time and time again. Please, let me help, Cook Out. If the burger patty is crunchy, it should not be placed on the burger. If sauce is to be added, please don't try to add enough sauce to overpower (or maybe soak?) the dry, leathery patty. Just get a fresh patty and use that one. Yes, it's fast food. Yes, you should try to work with expediency. No, you should not do so to create a mess in creating, wrapping, and packing the food. While you may have decent shakes, I remind you that Sonic and Dairy Queen are far, far too close for you to rest on your laurels at better service. If you've read this far and are looking for food recommendations, I recommend you go to Pal's, just a short drive down the road.

Hadn't been there five years before Covid so it had been over 11 years. They have doubled or tripled in size. We lucked out and got there at 1:30. I believe they open at 11:30 on Saturday and we hit at a perfect time we got seated. We had our drink order within a minute of being seated, the lady explained everything we waited 20 minutes and was served our meat and all our sides for those of you not familiar with the restaurant. You are served family style in case you don't know exactly what family style means is that they bring a bunch of different sides to you get to pick the meats two of them per table and they come on platters. we happen to get pork chops and fried chicken. The pork chops had a dark gravy that was almost barbecued and was a little spicy so our table didn't quite care for those so they went with the country fried steak in a second helping of fried chicken. It got busier and the fried chicken was a bit dry the second time better to do chicken salad than to eat hot although I do like piping hot fried chicken! Side dishes vary 7 to 9 different sides. They automatically bring to the table that carrot soufflé is one of our favorites. I've yet to replicate. They have Yukon gold mashed potatoes, gravy beans, and whatever beans of the day, cream corn, green beans, corn salad, fresh rolls, and fresh skillet cornbread with delicious rail butter served on a slab and room temperature so it's easy to spread. There are several meats to choose from catfish and pork chops and fried chicken buttermilk chicken, which wasn't served on Saturday but is awesome. There were pork chops, country ham there was boiled cabbage, and the time before there were pickles and apple butter and cottage cheese years ago, so their sides vary but the carrot soufflé is still wonderful. You would swear were sweet potatoes!

There's some nice outdoor seating as well as an open air covered space that looked really nice and would help with the smoke if that's an issue for you. Now that that fact is out of the way, let's move on! The food and service are both fantastic! Our waitress was a gem. I wish every waitress could be as sweet and friendly as that girl was. The food is not only delicious, it's so reasonably priced in this economy. We got a French dip and a club and then swapped halfway through so we could each try both. No complaints from me! The fries were seasoned and the roast beef in the French dip was chopped, so you weren't trying to bite through strings of beef. The club was jam packed with meats and cheese! It was so good! Our waitress recommended the mushroom Swiss burger with a side of au jus for our next time there. She said that's her favorite and it sounded like a great combo! We will definitely be back. Our Waitress was very sweet and attentive, but everything else was pretty awful. They allow smoking inside and the odor was overwhelming and probably unacceptable to most non smokers. The food was mid at best. Nearly every option was fried and seemed like it just came out of a box and went in the fryer. The Philly cheese steak was flavorless. The fish sandwich was bland. The burgers looked good, but my husband wasn't impressed. We had fried pickles as an appetizer and those were acceptable, but nothing to rave about. Prices were reasonable, but we would not go back.
