I came in here on a whim on 408 SJ Day! I was able to meet the owner, he was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. This place opened up 4 months ago and I couldn't believe how inviting the place is. The ambience is very pleasant and homey. I liked how appreciative he was of us stopping by. He even let us sample our drinks prior to choosing. I got a semi dessert wine which was super yummy. If you're ever in the area I recommend stopping by. I also got the pork belly musubi, which was fire!! Can't wait to come back. :)

Really nice environment, and friendly staff. They had live music when I went. Drinks were solid but honestly I'm excited to try the alleged Christmas menu I've seen online. They had some food options but weren't my thing. Will be going back during the holidays

A new bar in downtown San Jose. A great list of rotating, seasonal cocktails and excellent decor. Definitely will be coming back!

We came here during the soft opening and loved the vibes! They currently have a Sippin' Santa Pop Up with their fun, tiki bar drink. There was a good mix of music playing, which was great for a Friday night. For drinks, I got the pineapple upside down cask, which reminded me of a Mai Tai drink from Hawaii. For the group, we got the punch bowl drink to share, and it was delicious as well. All the mugs that the drinks came in were super cute, and they are also available for purchase. The silent "nightcap" was also really good, but it does contain espresso. You also get to take home the souvenir cup, which is perfect for the holidays. The servers and bartenders were all very nice and attentive. Our glasses were frequently refilled with water, with the occasional question of whether we needed another drink. The theme of the bar will be rotated with the seasons, so now is a good time to check out the holiday offerings. We'll be back soon!

Opening day 11/28/2025. They are located in the old Agenda Lounge location on the second floor above Petiscos. They are hosting the Sippin' Santa popup menu. Here's what I sampled: 4.7/5: Holiday on Ice: very boozy coffee cocktail. You can get it with vodka or bourbon. Go with Bourbon. 4.6: Sippin' Santa cocktail: Amaro and rum. It's naturally sparkly. 4.6: Jingle Bird. Very good variation on the Jungle Bird. Amped up with allspice and cranberry. 4.0: Sugar Plum Mai Tai. OK rum drink but not enough character or funk.

Super bowl weekend was pretty busy but we stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. I had heard that they had a Christmas take over but we didn't get a chance to make it. They had some super bowl specials that were pretty good. I got pinapple one that I enjoyed. Service was great, we would definitely come back for a quick drink. They also have music to late night.

Tucked upstairs and off the beaten path next to the Ritz venue, this brand-new cocktail bar feels like a secret you're lucky enough to be in on. From the moment you step inside, there's a buzz equal parts intimate, electric, and effortlessly cool. Courage Anyone isn't just about the drinks. The space is built for vibes. Live music nights bring the room to life, karaoke turns strangers into instant friends, and the layout is perfect for private events that actually feel special, not cookie-cutter.

This cocktail bar was the perfect bar to start the night. The vibes were great, customer service was excellent, and the entire place was heavily decorated for the holidays. I came here with a large group of people and hung around a booth. However, some of us were standing, which we were totally okay with. A staff then voluntarily pulled a table and chairs for us so that everyone can sit together. This was a very nice gesture and we truly appreciated it! As for the drinks, I ordered the Frost Bite - which was one of their very few holiday drinks that was not rum. Their holiday drinks are so cute and come with their own unique cup. The Frost Bite was a tequila cocktail with sweet and fruity flavor. I'm glad that the place wasn't crowded at all, but still had enough people + a DJ to keep the night alive!

The newest bar in downtown San Jose! I found this place and yelp and knew I had to check it out for the holidays. It was perfectly decorated with lights. The atmosphere was similar to 55 South (also similar holiday drinks), but with so much more space. Definitely recommending adding this to your holiday bar crawl!

Super cute new Asian spot in DTSJ! Loved the ambiance in here and I can totally imagine this place getting real packed in this new year. They only recently opened at the end of 2025 so we're looking forward to coming back to see all the new additions to their menu. Booths are spacious and their stage for live music is set to debut tonight (2/3/2026) per Kenton, who was super gracious and informative. There's also a karaoke room in the corner we'd love to check out in the near future!

Atmospheric and vibey new lounge downtown! First time visiting and hope to return soon. Great drinks, super friendly + helpful staff, and excellent decor!

Ambience is amazing, played great hits, even some are nostalgic. The drinks are great and I heard it's a rotating menu so it keeps you coming back. Unfortunately I already had a heavy dinner but the bites look delicious. Service was also great and drinks came out quick! Definitely try this place out!

The cocktail menu is inspired by records, and you can feel the creativity in every sip. These aren't your standard bar pours -- they're clearly thought out and crafted with personality. Alter Ego is a proper intimate lounge with their full bar, and it feels like a world away from the street outside. Also, it had a New York type vibe with the brick walls and it wasn't too dark so we weren't struggling to look at menus or anything. The bartenders were quick and got to us within minutes. I'm currently not drinking any alcohol, so I ordered a Coco L'Orange, which ended up tasting like a sweeter Orange Julius. I really enjoyed it like a dessert drink since I just had dinner. I also appreciated how it didn't just taste like straight sugar syrup, which is my usual experience with spirit free cocktails. However, it was pretty tart, so I suggest just sipping on it. It helped a lot with feeling like was drinking with everyone the whole time without having to order multiple drinks. Regarding seating, we somehow found a table in the back where our party of 18 guys could hangout, and it wasn't so loud we couldn't hear each other. I barely go out anymore, but in this area I now prefer this establishment since I could sip on a good non-alcoholic drink without worrying about someone accidentally running into me and spilling on me. There were also plenty glass water bottles going around to keep everyone hydrated.

Another person ordered the same and our espressos just oddly looked different from one another. I'm big on how my drinks taste AND looks so wasn't too pleased about it.
