(By the evening time, all gone!) Fee computer space inc - printer :) There're also 2nd fl for lobby space and during the summer there's going to be open outdoor pool. Across from 5th ave sax, walking distance to blooming deals, Trader Joe's. Whole Foods, and Starbucks - it feels like small New York City in this areas! I highly recommend this hotel. Stayed here for just one night, and booked a room on short notice. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. The only downside on the room was the air conditioner/heater was very loud and difficult to sleep with, so I just turned it off. This hotel is just outside the DC city line, but it is convenient with respect to the city. They had free parking for members (I think membership is also free to sign up for), and told me that it was "much safer" in their lot. It doesn't strike me as an unsafe area, but hey, why not use their lot. Besides being a source of parking, it's also a short walk from the Metro and various buses. The bed was as comfortable as I've had in any of my recent hotel stays and I had a good night's sleep. There were some dodgy details including broken elevator buttons, but overall the convenience and comfort were better for the price than I had expected and I could see myself staying again. read more

Courtyard Review My family and I have stayed at this hotel 3-4 times in the last few years. This year for the Thanksgiving holiday we had 2 rooms for 5 days... Room 1213 and 1224. The rooms were ok but the restaurant and any other food/beverage service was horrible. We arrived on Tuesday November 25th and the next day we went to the restaurant for breakfast. I got there around 10:10 am trying to get a table for the 3 of us. The restaurant has 20+ tables and 3-4 were occupied and the remainder of the tables were totally covered with dirty dishes, cutlery, food, etc. Several times I asked both of the 2 people working if a table could be cleaned off for us. They were both scurrying around (empty handed) and overwhelmed. A table was finally prepared for us. My wife ordered oatmeal and my son and I each ordered scrambled eggs with potatoes, bacon and toast. The eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast were disgusting, cold and not really edible! After bringing our experience to the attention of someone who I believe was a manage the next day we did get a credit for our terrible breakfast. Furthermore, the 24 hour coffee/tea was usually empty. I write this terrible review in the hope that in the future some management will actively oversee the amenities, otherwise simply eliminate them. read more

Pros and cons, but overall, it's not a place I need to return to. They've lost our company business--just too many good choices to put up with this. Pros: Nice room, and the bed is decent. Very plain but ok. It has a small but nice workout room with decent equipment and friendly front desk staff. Cons: Totally messed up my laundry. I brought it down the night before, but the next day, they didn't send it off, so it wasn't ready when needed. The bag was still sitting there. How can they be so negligent with something so simple, but it REALLY screws up the customer? Wish I could leave tonight. Only one elevator is working, so very long waits to move anywhere. Very courteous and accomodating. Hotel had issues with allowing some large pet breeds and elevator scheduled maintenance. Breakfast for titanium members reinstated at their Trattoria Restaurant since my last stay. One star added for free room upgrade and evening cookies. On its surface, this Courtyard Marriott hotel on the boarder of Maryland is sleek and attractive. The two-story lobby features sparkling chandeliers. The guest rooms are paneled nicely with dark wood. Massive, HD flatscreens and comfy queen mattresses make this property a generally pleasant place to spend time--all in close proximity to both American University's campus and the towering office buildings of Chevy Chase. Why, then, would I not come back? It all comes down to two words: hot water. My first morning waking up in the hotel, I could not get the water to heat up in the shower. In the lobby, I discovered that other guests were having the same problem. Management was generally accommodating, handing out discounts to appease my traveling party's annoyance. But the problem persisted throughout my two-night stay. The shower handle was obviously faulty and very difficult to turn on, even during the best of circumstances. (The air conditioning vent in my room also made loud, disconcerting noises at random intervals.) Marriott has obviously spent a lot of money making the interior of this property appear newly refurbished. They would also do well to invest in plumbing that works right. One positive thing about staying in the Courtyard: the a-la-carte breakfast restaurant is quite good. I enjoyed a delicious bagel and lox entree to start my day, with the rest of my family enjoying stacks of pancakes, oatmeal and outrageously scrumptious chocolate muffins. Perhaps all the maintenance concerns of this review will be resolved by the time you book your trip. But my experience here was less than ideal. As seniors living in the neighborhood, we have found Courtyard to be a God-send when our power has gone out. It went out again this week and was expected to be out for 24 hours. I booked a room, but as soon as we got to our room a few hours later, our power had come back on. The people at the front desk could not have been more understanding and allowed us to cancel without charge. It's not often that a big chain would waive the rules. We appreciated their service and consider them our neighbors. We will definately continue to use them at other times. read more

Very easy check-in process and the front desk personnel were super friendly. There is a $30 fee for parking that doesn't get mentioned until you ask where to park your car. Bed was ultra comfortable and there is an amazing restaurant located right near the lobby. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay here again since I will be making multiple trips to the area. The only drawback was that the phone in my room didn't work and no one came to fix it after I reported it. No big deal since I had my cell phone. read more

Stayed here Sunday and Monday nights. Hotel is in a decent area while in a metropolitan area. Restaurant are along the street walking distance or short drive. There is a parking deck underneath hotel. Staff was very professional and polite. Outside and inside are clean. Room and bathroom is clean. The bed and pillows are comfortable. I reserved a room for a weekend Staycay & on all fronts was a plus. The hotel's make-over turned out nicely with visible upgrades to the lobby, lounge, business center & Market areas. The interior restaurant Trattoria 5520 offers American & Italian cuisine, Starbuck's beverages & provides the room service for the property. Upon check in, we received a card for Trattoria offering 1/2 off of drinks from 5pm-8pm, valid 7 days a week. The rooms have upgraded their mattresses that absolutely provided a comfortable rest, separate tub & walk in showers, Paul Mitchell grooming products, flat screen TV's & free Wi-Fi. The Fitness Center offers modernized equipment with free weights & the outdoor pool was well maintained. Located just a few blocks north of the Friendship Heights Metro Station - Red Line, exiting Wayne Avenue, you will find unlimited options for restaurants (Clyde's) retail shops (Sak's), movie theater (AMC Galleria) & grocery stores (Whole Foods). For parking, there are two garages, one underground & one above, both for $18 per day with unlimited access. The front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate our stay, the housekeeping team was friendly & the hotel's engineer served as the Concierge when needed. This is a typical Courtyard Hotel that charges for parking ($20/night) and with a restaurant with no identity (is it Bistro, Julian's or Trattoria 5520?). This hotel is located in an area of Bethesda called "Chevy Chase" near Friendship Village. There is a Sak's Fifth Avenue and a Tiffany's right across the street and more high-end shops are located nearby. The room was basic but had that signature sweet couch. The bathroom was basic and the closet could barely fit my carry-on luggage. The bed was comfortable and the TV was about the size of my computer monitor. I wouldn't stay here on my own dime ($300 a night). The cool thing is that there area restaurants within walking distance and this is located in a safe neighborhood. read more

I know every business is short staffed but this Courtyard has doubled their rates since December. When I arrived my tv wasn't working. I waited for service from 1-7:30 pm. Nobody answered at the reception desk so I went downstairs and stood in line for 30 minutes as they couldn't handle guest check in. I brought the remote down with a note asking service by 7 pm. When I returned from dinner nobody had come to my room yet. They said they were sending someone up. He didn't have the remote. Went back downstairs to get it. 20 minutes later he still wasn't back up. He finally returned and was very pleasant. By 8:40 my tv was working. Next morning- the fitness room had no wipes, no towels, no antibacterial lotion and no cups for water. At breakfast the waiter said they had no decaf but another sever said they did. It took 20 minutes to get a glass of water. Wanted to do my own laundry. The front desk gave me quarters telling me it cost $2. It was $3 per load. Parking pass they gave me at $24/ day did not work. Front desk very friendly and apologetic but too many issues for the high price. read more

The location and price of this hotel is hard to beat! It's on the Maryland/DC border, so you get the feel of staying in DC without the huge price tag. The Friendship Heights metro/bus station is only a few blocks away, making travel in and around DC very convenient for those who don't want to drive everywhere and deal with the crazy traffic. There are also lots of shops and places to eat in the area, too! Our room was very comfortable. Our bed was a king-size located on the fifth floor. It didn't have the best of views, but we considered it worth it for the price. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spacious. There was a large couch that could pull out into a separate bed and extra bedding within the bottom dresser drawer. The room had ample storage for clothes with a closet and a dresser. There was a separate fold-out stand for one's luggage, and we couldn't hear our neighbors very much through the walls (a huge plus!). By the doorway, there was a decent medium-sized fridge that did not have a freezer section in it. Above the fridge was a shelf with a keurig, k-cups, teas, disposable hot and cold cups, and an empty ice bucket with liners (ice is self-serve on the third floor). Sadly, there was no microwave in our room. The bathroom was nice (Paul Mitchell soaps and shampoos!). The only downside was that there was no ventilation. I wish we had a fan, because it got musty pretty fast which forced us to leave the bathroom door open to air it out. Breakfast is not free - it's done ala carte on the first floor where how much you pay depends on what you get. The staff were awesome, though! I forgot my toothbrush, which the front desk was happy to give me for free. We were also able to check in and check out without a fuss. They even let us keep our car parked into the afternoon for free after we had our morning check out (the going rate for parking onsite is $3 per hour or $18 per day). Overall, our stay was good! It was perfect for just what we needed: a place to crash while we visited some of our favorite places and people in DC. read more

This place is an ideal one if you have any businesses in the northern DC area. Very close to the Redline metro station. The hotel offers comfortable rooms which are a little worn out - especially the bathrooms do require renovation. The housekeeping do an amazing job and make you feel like home. The restaurant adjacent to the lobby is great and is well suited for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favorite is the egg white omelette served with toast and a bowl of fruits. Do not stay here. Staff are a bunch of liars. From check in to check out was horrible. Room was booked prior to arrival , and went I went to check in the room "wasn't available". My room was booked aligned with family, so we should've been next to each other but we were not. No accommodations. I was told someone would call me when my room was ready so I walked around until 5:30. (I'm from Florida). Upon checking in, I was asked for my credit card I asked why because the room was already paid for. Was told it was for "incidentals" only. I swiped it. I was so tired from walking around when I got to my room I went to sleep. When I went to shower the next morning the handle fell off. Not to mention, the tub was dirty, stains. Hairs and my son didn't even want to shower .So, I went downstairs to let them know , about my checkin experience and then about the shower. The people at the desks acknowledged having prior issues with the room I was given. They did offer to move me, which I accepted .My aunt's room, the next day floods. Leaving a sour smell, resulting in her having to move. Upon check out ,they attempted to charge me for a prior paid room. "Supposedly" they got it fixed and the balance was zero. Two days later after returning, my credit card was charged double the fee; and I am currently trying to contact the manager who basically lied upon check out and will no longer return calls. Truly enjoyed my stay at this Courtyard location while on a work trip. From the city center, it takes about 30 minutes to get here (without traffic). It is easily accessible via Uber or the metro system. Lots of chain restaurants and stores near by. The staff always had smiles on their faces, whether at 11 at night or at 8 in the morning! The hotel itself is well kept and there is very little wear and tear. I took a star off because the air conditioning system turned on and off throughout the night. No matter how much I played with the thermostat or the actual air conditioning unit, it seemed to have a mind of its own. The bathroom doesn't have a fan, so unless you keep the door open while showering, the bathroom completely steams up. Regardless, there were plenty of towels in the bathroom and our room was clean! read more

I stayed for a 1 night business trip. When I was checking in, they did not greet me the standard platinum elite offer. I also had to ask them about how parking rules and where to go, how long, how to even get to the parking. It was like pulling teeth with everything. Clean room, but kind of old. The room clock was off by several hours. Some channels on the tv were extremely poor quality (not high def) and it was annoying when I wanted to watch the NLCS. You kind of need to see if you're going to watch where the baseball is. Did not try the hotel restaurant because they are usually disappointing in my experience, so I went to get my own food at Whole Foods nearby. The staff were kind of nice but they really wanted you to check out. I felt very rushed to leave even though I requested late check out. I wanted 4pm checkout (which is allowed) but they wanted 2pm. So before 2pm, my key card was invalidated, then I had to go back downstairs to get a new key so I could finish packing. Housekeeping came by twice, once in the morning on checkout day even though I had the Do Not Disturb sign out and once at 2pm. So I called and asked if I could have the room longer and she gave me 10 more minutes. So generous. I should have been more assertive and asked for 4pm repeatedly from the get-go. If it didn't happen to be conveniently located for my work meeting, I would not go back there again. read more

Hotel in the swanky Chevy Chase Area! Jimmy Choo? Tiffany's? Vera Wang? It's all just steps away. This is by far the nicest Courtyard that I have ever been to. Beautiful modern decor. Everything is well kept and clean. The rooms have nice flat screen HD TV's, fluffy warm comforters, themostats, mini fridges, and coffee nook. The gym was clean, well equipped with two treadmills, an eliptical, and a bike. Free weights in standard sizes. I would have liked there to be towels in the gym (they were out.) The dining was decent when I tried it. The ribs were melt-off-the-bon tender. The BBQ sauce was tangy and tasty. The split pea and ham soup was totally yummy--not too salty, flavorful, well balanced. I do wish they had a more comprehensive roomservice menu. The menu provided did not reflect what was available. Location is great, near lots of high end stores, whole foods, movie theater, and tasty restaurants. Only 3 blocks from the Friendship Heights Metro station too. This location is one of the newer/remodeled Courtyards. Picked this property since it was about 2 miles from my client's site and the price was reasonable. It's in a great location and if you Yelp Around you'll find that there is shopping, numerous eateries, and even a movie theatre complex within walking distance of the hotel. Having the updated lobby area with a Starbucks, bar, and full service restaurant is also a plus. My room came complete with an HD TV and surprise the channels actually lined up with their in room channel guide! Bathroom had an extra large walk in shower with a glass door (Hooray no skeevy shower curtain!). Workout area was clean and was well equipped with aerobic equipment w/media centers and free weights. Ate at the restaurant/bar on night one and the food was not bad at all. Ordered a buffalo chicken salad and it was pretty good. Other diners were enjoying their burgers, steaks, and even a pasta dish and I did not hear of one complaint. They do have an underground parking facility and if you are claustrophobic you are in trouble. It's pretty tight quarters with a lot of support columns and very narrow driving lanes. The car paint marks on the columns remind you to take it slow when navigating down there. All in all a very good experience and I would stay here again. read more

From the beginning, the receptionist was courteous and on point. My room was beyond amazing and the thing that stood out the most was the bed. The queen bed was amazing. The pillows were really good resort quality as well. So next was the bathroom. The deep, dark wood was very calming. Also the glass tiles were a nice decorative touch. I probably stayed in that steaming hot shower for over an hour easily. I also thoroughly enjoyed breakfast the next morning downstairs. I've stayed at hotels that end breakfast at 9:00am however here they served breakfast until 11am. The hash browns were cooked to perfection as well. I recommend the pancakes as well. However, if you're getting the pancakes, I'd definitely share with someone. They give you three pan size pancakes. Also all of the breakfast combos included fresh cut, seasonal fruit. We went out to dinner and they said our room would be available by the time we got back, well no room so I waited in the lobby for them to check on what's going on I said forget it just give me sheets pillows and towels we will stay in the room. This is a great hotel in Chevy Chase. We stay here every time we go to see our family. The location is in great proximity to Friendship Heights and the Mazza Galleria.
