Food was great. Fish and chips were light and crispy. Tots were a little greasy. Salads were huge. Fast service.

Came here for the first time yesterday. Cute restaurant and pub right near Glen Echo Park. Parking is a little wonky, but manageable. My aunt and I were seated in the pub area. I arrived a few minutes later. The server came over, did not introduce himself and seemed annoyed when we said we weren't ready. I was never asked if I wanted anything to drink other than water. We both ordered the Irish burger with a side salad. The burger was DELICIOUS! The 3 stars is for the service. Never got our waters refilled and I felt like our server was annoyed we were there.

The Irish inn at Glen Echo has very quickly become one of my favorite places to go, and this last visit really sealed the deal for me. From the moment we sat down, everything just felt welcoming and relaxed. Our server Damien absolutely made the night. I don't usually say I have a "favorite" server anywhere, but now I definitely do. He's just one of those people who makes you feel like he genuinely cares that you're having a good time. He gave us spot-on suggestions, checked in just enough without being overbearing, and was so friendly and easy to talk to. It makes such a difference when the service is that good, and it's a big part of why we'll keep coming back. The food was outstanding. We started with the potato leek soup, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned--honestly one of the best I've had. We also shared the deviled eggs, and they were such a fun and tasty appetizer. Both dishes were great for sharing, and they came out quickly, still fresh and flavorful. I love when appetizers don't feel like an afterthought, and these definitely didn't. The atmosphere is another reason this place is so special. The night we went, there was live music playing outside, which really added to the whole experience. It wasn't too loud, just the right amount of energy and fun. We sat inside this time, but now that the weather is finally getting nicer, we can't wait to try sitting outside. It looks like the perfect setup for a laid-back night with good food, good music, and just a great vibe all around. Between the delicious food, the amazing service from Damien, and the cozy but lively atmosphere, The Irishman really hits all the marks for a great night out. It feels like the kind of place where you can just as easily come for a casual dinner with friends as you could for a special occasion, and that's rare. Five stars without hesitation--I already know this is going to be one of our go-to spots moving forward.

I keep trying, but man this place needs new management. Food is mediocre, service is surly and unfriendly ( at least to anyone under 60). They pour a decent Guinness, and the live music outs great, but I'll only return for dinner when I hear they have made major changes.

Great food and homey atmosphere. The only things that are holding back a higher score for me was the strange interaction that we had at the hostess stand and the hot and humid temperature of the bar. My son and his girlfriend met me at Glen Echo to walk around. We decided that we were hungry and The Irish Inn is conveniently located in walking distance from the park. When we walked in, the woman at the hostess stand ignored us for an uncomfortable amount of time then... just looked at me. I finally asked if we could just grab a seat in the bar and she said "if you can find a spot." Fine. We went and sat down. The bartender was cool and jovial, so I just let it go. The bar area is very homey and a fun pub atmosphere. They've got some great beers on tap as well as the standard fare that you'd expect at an Irish pub. If the place wasn't so warm and muggy, it would have been great. Our food was fantastic. Very flavorful and nicely presented. I got the Shepherds Pie, which should be made with mined lamb; this was made with minced beef so it's actually a Cottage Pie. I knew that going in so I was happy with it. The flavor and preparation were amazing. And even the salad that came with it was above expectation. The Irish Inn is a very good spot. The attitude when walking in greatly affected my experience. I'd go back, but next time I'll just walk straight through the bar door and dress lighter.

This local community Pub is like eating/hanging in your home. Everyone knows each other and the bar/dining seating is nice and cozy. David is an excellent bartender and is extra attentive to all your needs. He makes the best Margarita and the all the food is simple and hearty. I had a Reuben with Fries. The bread was toasted just right with Coleslaw, Corned Beef, Swiss. The Wholegrain Mustard with Irish Whiskey is a must to add into your Sandwich. If you are coming through the Glen Echo Neighborhood and need a place to stop and eat, don't miss coming here. The ambience is quiet, peaceful, and the inside decor has a vintage look that makes it feel more comfortable.

2 days in a row and going back tomorrow that's how dang good it is! The service from Damian is always amazing and Patrick the manager is awesome as well! The place is immaculate and so clean. We had the crab artichoke dip, fish and chips and the shepherds pie and of course with a straw lol. Oh and I forgot my purse the night before and thank goodness they are such nice people they kept it safe for me until the next day

Service was OK. Food was great. We also had the potato leak soup and the hamburger. Both very good. Atmosphere is nice. They charge for every lemonade refill but they did not tell us.

Since we sat outside we had to go inside to place our order and then a server or someone that worked there would deliver our food. If it was a drink then they would make the drink on the spot. I think it was a bit confusing because when you sit down at a table outside you'd assume maybe someone would notice but that isn't the case. I think that's just something people should ahead on time. It may be the same case inside where you have tables to sit down at but no server to take your order, ect. Otherwise I didn't get much here other than fries and Guinness on Draft so I can at least review something food related.. Fries, crispy, there is a crunch in every bite, topped with parmesan cheese and parsley, it is pretty good for something to snack on. The Guinness on Draft is surprisingly extremely smooth and was very enjoyable; I would get it again! My friends got the poutine and I'd say after sampling it, it's great. Fries with cheese curds topped with gravy. Savory, Delicious, and filling. I'll most likely pay a 2nd visit! That Guinness is calling me!

I would have had a better experience if there were more vegan friendly options and better service. The only thing on the menu I could find that was vegan were french fries. I wish they had a vegan sandwich option. They do have a decent amount of vegetarian options, but they could not be made vegan. I ordered their french fries and was impressed with the portion size. Additionally, the french fries were well seasoned and the right amount of crispy with a soft center. This, however, is not a meal and I really wish I could have enjoyed something more substantial. The service was so slow and that would be my main reason for not wanting to come back. It was really fun seeing how many people the employees knew by name. The bar was bustling with business. I love that this restaurant is well attended by regulars and locals. But it took way too long for me to get a second drink and the bill.

The process from start to finish was easy and everyone I spoke to was so kind. I received advice on the menu and the best way to do the drinks. On the day of the event, I confirmed the details and we showed up ten minutes ahead of time to add some personal decorations. We had the slider package, mac and cheese, onion rings, artichoke dip, and baked potatoes. Everyone raved about the sliders (my dad's personal favorite was the reuben one - he had four). My mom, an onion ring fan, was very happy. There were only good things to say about the food. The bartenders were extremely attentive to the party and there was never a build up at the bar. They offered a cake hold. They brought it out when asked, had the candles lit, then whisked it back to cut it and bring it back out. We definitely went to the Dabney quite a bit when Sam was working there. But, as for Evelyn Rose - we couldn't be more thrilled. When the Bazins announced that they were selling their restaurant, I honesty couldn't think of better new owners, and they have just nailed it. Food: The food is excellent. Always well-seasoned with lots of choices for all different appetites and preferences. A few specific touches that I personally love - half portions of pasta, options on an a la carte menu as well as a tasting menu (every evening!) and the ability to often order courses a la carte off the tasting menu. Flexibility is the name of their game, and it is truly appreciated. Chef Nick really has a way with fish, and that's frequently what I order there, but honestly, I think only one time did I have a dish that I felt was sub-par (I had a meat dish that was slightly overcooked and a tad dry) but that's a few and far between occurrence. Last night I had the rockfish dish which was perfectly crisped, and the sauce and beans that accompanied it were just perfect. My husband had the gnocchi which was light and fluffy. Service: Sam, the co-owner and Sommelier, is really just amazing at hospitality. He is friendly, warm, and always looking to ensure you are having a great experience. He's put together a small, but well-curated wine list - nothing overly expensive, and wines that you'd 'expect' to see as well as hidden gems. He's always willing to offer advice on wine pairings - not just for the tasting menu but the a la carte menu, which is always appreciated by my husband and I. Aside from Sam, generally, the service is attentive most times we have dined there - most of the time, if the service is lagging a bit, it's usually because they are packed! Vibe: Evelyn Rose has a cozy, warm vibe. Lots of exposed wood and blue and gold tones throughout the restaurant. Do note that it can get loud, especially on weekends when they are packed. Other: We are very blessed to have such an excellent restaurant down the street. Don't take my word for it - we were at Albi just a few nights ago and when we mentioned to the bartender we live in Vienna, they said "oh, have you been to Evelyn Rose?" (seriously!) Coming from a bartender at a one-star Michelin restaurant...I'd say that's quite the compliment. Looking forward to many more dinners at Evelyn Rose!
