    Deviled Eggs

The Irish inn at Glen Echo has very quickly become one of my favorite places to go, and this last visit really sealed the deal for me. From the moment we sat down, everything just felt welcoming and relaxed. Our server Damien absolutely made the night. I don't usually say I have a "favorite" server anywhere, but now I definitely do. He's just one of those people who makes you feel like he genuinely cares that you're having a good time. He gave us spot-on suggestions, checked in just enough without being overbearing, and was so friendly and easy to talk to. It makes such a difference when the service is that good, and it's a big part of why we'll keep coming back. The food was outstanding. We started with the potato leek soup, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned--honestly one of the best I've had. We also shared the deviled eggs, and they were such a fun and tasty appetizer. Both dishes were great for sharing, and they came out quickly, still fresh and flavorful. I love when appetizers don't feel like an afterthought, and these definitely didn't. The atmosphere is another reason this place is so special. The night we went, there was live music playing outside, which really added to the whole experience. It wasn't too loud, just the right amount of energy and fun. We sat inside this time, but now that the weather is finally getting nicer, we can't wait to try sitting outside. It looks like the perfect setup for a laid-back night with good food, good music, and just a great vibe all around. Between the delicious food, the amazing service from Damien, and the cozy but lively atmosphere, The Irishman really hits all the marks for a great night out. It feels like the kind of place where you can just as easily come for a casual dinner with friends as you could for a special occasion, and that's rare. Five stars without hesitation--I already know this is going to be one of our go-to spots moving forward.

Food was great. Fish and chips were light and crispy. Tots were a little greasy. Salads were huge. Fast service.

I keep trying, but man this place needs new management. Food is mediocre, service is surly and unfriendly ( at least to anyone under 60). They pour a decent Guinness, and the live music outs great, but I'll only return for dinner when I hear they have made major changes.

Great food and homey atmosphere. The only things that are holding back a higher score for me was the strange interaction that we had at the hostess stand and the hot and humid temperature of the bar. My son and his girlfriend met me at Glen Echo to walk around. We decided that we were hungry and The Irish Inn is conveniently located in walking distance from the park. When we walked in, the woman at the hostess stand ignored us for an uncomfortable amount of time then... just looked at me. I finally asked if we could just grab a seat in the bar and she said "if you can find a spot." Fine. We went and sat down. The bartender was cool and jovial, so I just let it go. The bar area is very homey and a fun pub atmosphere. They've got some great beers on tap as well as the standard fare that you'd expect at an Irish pub. If the place wasn't so warm and muggy, it would have been great. Our food was fantastic. Very flavorful and nicely presented. I got the Shepherds Pie, which should be made with mined lamb; this was made with minced beef so it's actually a Cottage Pie. I knew that going in so I was happy with it. The flavor and preparation were amazing. And even the salad that came with it was above expectation. The Irish Inn is a very good spot. The attitude when walking in greatly affected my experience. I'd go back, but next time I'll just walk straight through the bar door and dress lighter.

This local community Pub is like eating/hanging in your home. Everyone knows each other and the bar/dining seating is nice and cozy. David is an excellent bartender and is extra attentive to all your needs. He makes the best Margarita and the all the food is simple and hearty. I had a Reuben with Fries. The bread was toasted just right with Coleslaw, Corned Beef, Swiss. The Wholegrain Mustard with Irish Whiskey is a must to add into your Sandwich. If you are coming through the Glen Echo Neighborhood and need a place to stop and eat, don't miss coming here. The ambience is quiet, peaceful, and the inside decor has a vintage look that makes it feel more comfortable.

2 days in a row and going back tomorrow that's how dang good it is! The service from Damian is always amazing and Patrick the manager is awesome as well! The place is immaculate and so clean. We had the crab artichoke dip, fish and chips and the shepherds pie and of course with a straw lol. Oh and I forgot my purse the night before and thank goodness they are such nice people they kept it safe for me until the next day

As soon as we entered, General Manager Sam welcomed us like old friends. After we were seated, my wife asked if he had previously worked at The Dabney, and sure enough, that's where we recognized him from. It was great catching up as he shared what he'd been doing since then and how his dream had always been to open his own restaurant. Seeing that dream come to life made the evening feel even more special. The restaurant was busy (definitely make reservations), but we were able to enjoy cocktails while we waited for our table. My Grey Goose martini with bleu cheese olives was phenomenal and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We started with the Bison Tartare and the Ceviche. The bison tartare was leaner than traditional beef tartare, and the crispy chips added the perfect savory crunch. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and bright. For our entrées, I had the ribeye while my wife ordered the Dory. The ribeye was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. My wife couldn't stop talking about how buttery and delicious the fish was. To finish the evening, we ordered the 100-Year Port Flight featuring 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-year ports. Vertical tastings are such a fun way to experience how a wine evolves over time. The 40-year was absolutely outstanding, and the 20-year was another favorite. The 10-year was enjoyable but still showed its youthful character compared to the older vintages. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between upscale and relaxed. The main dining room can feel a little tight when the restaurant is full, while the bar area has a few TVs for anyone wanting to catch a game. One thoughtful touch that stood out was the women's restroom being stocked with amenities like hair ties and hair clips. We noticed they also offer a tasting menu, and after this experience, that's already on our list for our next visit. Between the outstanding hospitality, exceptional food, excellent cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, Evelyn Rose absolutely earned five stars.

Since the reservation form asked if we were celebrating anything, I hoped we would be placed in a special area or at least somewhere more intimate. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We were led up a staircase, which offered a cool view of the environment, but ended up at a small table in a small high traffic area. Initially, we thought it was a unique experience because of the restaurant's interior design, but we soon realized it was going to be uncomfortable...because heat rises and we were stuck upstairs with so many other people who seemed just as warm as us. It was excessively hot, and I found myself fanning myself with one of the menus at the table. While our server was probably trying his best, the service left much to be desired. We were eager to leave as soon as we arrived. After ordering and enjoying what we could of our meals, which were quite good, we just wanted to leave. However, our server was absent for a long time, leaving us stuck at the table. Instead of being a cute little anniversary dinner, it just turned out to be a disappointing experience at a new restaurant

First time: I had the lobster roll which came heaped with lobster chunks. I had to eat the lobster for a while before I could pick it up or risk the lobster falling out - so nice not to be hungry after getting a lobster roll! Fortunately for us, the food was pretty much of the same high caliber as the food from the Pisco Y Nazca location in DC. For our dining pleasure, we went with our favorite dishes and beverages - Ají de Gallina, the Callejero ceviche, and of course a few pisco sours. Although some might consider the prices on paper to be high, I think the prices are fair in terms of portion sizes and quality of the food. Overall, I thought the service was fine. However, I was a little annoyed that we learned about the prix fixe brunch, which includes three courses for $34, after we placed our orders and started eating. While eating, I noticed that other folks at the bar where ordering from a different menu, and the server let me know that they were ordering from the brunch menu. So, I'm thinking that the other bartender forgot to give us both the brunch menu and regular menu when we sat down. Regarding parking, I do not think the restaurant has its own parking, but there is street parking and plenty of parking garages in the area. If you are not familiar with the area, you may want to look up some garages before heading out because the prices can range from a couple of bucks per hour to $7+ per hour. I have a feeling that we'll return to this location - mainly as a way to avoid dealing with the rigamarole of commuting to DC and dealing with DC-related traffic and shenanigans.
