It was good! The service was okay-- we were there for a fully booked night so we unfortunately did not get a room upgrade. After staying here for almost a week, we understand just how The DuPont Circle Hotel is one of only six Michelin key awardees in Washington DC. We entered here and two superb front desk reps, Thomas and Caroline, provided amazing service. The rooms are standard size for a hotel in DuPont Circle. I spent a couple night at The DuPont Circle. The location is fantastic with lots of shops, restaurants and bars in close proximity. I arrived on a Sunday and there was a small farmer's market on a nearby street. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful. Overall, my room was comfortable enough. The work desk was a good size for me to spread out and work from. The bathroom floor is heated which was a unique experience. The reason I gave it only three stars include: 1. The shower - the shower in my room had a 3/4 glass of enclosure. Part of the enclosure "folds". The one in my bathroom would not stay in place, so either water leaked all over the floor or it was smacking me in the a$$. Also, the shower head (no handheld) had barely any pressure. I was literally up against the wall with the shower control trying to stay under the water stream. The shower head floor has black tile and while I'm sure it was technically clean, the amount of soap scum and build up was kind of gross. 2. The bed. I had a kind bed in my room and it was only slightly less firm than the floor. It was so firm that I woke up with sore joints and back because of the impact on pressure points. 3. No drawers. While I appreciate a modern, clean room, I hate when there aren't drawers. I like to unpack my suitcase and put things away. I was able to hang my shirts/ pants in the closet, but there was no place to put my socks, underwear, t-shirts and those sorts of items. Would I stay here again? Maybe...if someone else were paying. Mostly likely, I would probably choose one of the other Marriott properties in the same general area that have better in-room amenities. read more

This pains me but the entire stay was AWFUL. We booked via Amex Platinum, called last week to confirm the benefits, then were told something totally different upon arrival. We tried communicating via their "text" portal,ZERO RESPONSES. I called atleast 5 times back to back, no answer. The room was "upgraded"and there were MULTIPLE issues with the water, amenities, ac. I'm so pissed for booking this room, as it is NOT 5 STAR, at all. The service made my stay the worst aspect with the ONLY positive bring Abby from The Pembroke Restaurant. We tried the Doyle bar, waited 15 minutes with NO service, and I can tell you we will NEVER Stay here again. Terrible, terrible service. The location is the only benefit, and I mean the ONLY benefit. I have stayed here many times over the past 20 years. The room refresh was good. When we returned to our room the bed was nicely made. Fresh towels and still a half roll of TP and no back up. I ordered a Guinness at the bar at 2pm. It sat in the shelf on the back bar while the bartender was away. Once he noticed he refreshed it and got it to me right away. I am sure there are huge new challenges in the hotel/hospitality business these days. I would not know and not fair to be critical. It was not the same as I remembered years ago. It was just a different experience today. There are no doubt language barriers, and hotels face those challenges to provide the best of service. I was so pleased with my stay here! This hotel had mostly good reviews and I was coming to town for a concert, so I booked myself a room. I didn't get an immediate confirmation, and I have absolutely zero chill sometimes, so I accidentally booked myself two hotel rooms. I called the next morning after both confirmations showed up in my inbox and they were able to cancel one of the rooms for me. When I showed up the door person greeted me immediately and helped with my bag. The front desk staff was super nice, I chatted with the woman that checked me in for a bit. Great customer service so far! I made my way up to the room and was very pleased with the space. It's a very European hotel, which means there are cute little details everywhere. The note and chocolates they left me were a sweet touch. I ordered room service and it was brought up quickly. The man that brought it up was super friendly and cracked a couple of jokes. He was awesome. The next morning the door person stood outside with me while I waited for my uber and he was also a gem. Overall 10/10 experience with the team here. The hotel is in a great location and I loved all the little details. I would stay here again with no hesitation. Highly recommend based on this experience. Bonus points: fluffy oversized towels, bathrobes and slippers provided, and super comfortable bed. read more

Issues I had: - waited 40 minutes to get in my room even though everyone else around me got theirs immediately - they told me it was because the shades were broken and I said please fix while I'm gone tonight - they didn't, so I called the next day and asked again for them to fix while I was gone - once again, no one came to fix them until my last day there and left many things in disrepair and tools and switches left around; they spent two hours working in my room while I was there - when I got to my room, an employee's coat was on the bed - the handle fell off of my toilet - room service menu was terrible and overpriced Overall it was fine but when traveling for work it's nice to not have so many inconveniences. read more

I stayed at The Dupont Circle twice in the course of 6 months - first in February and then again in April (as a "redo" after a negative experience the first time). For the visit in February, my partner and I booked this "luxury" hotel for its location and reputation. I initially booked a standard level room, but paid for an upgrade to one of the penthouse-level suites at check in. Once we arrived at the room, half of the bathroom amenities weren't functional because of renovations (towel warmer, jacuzzi jets in tub, etc). We didn't give it too much thought because hotels undergo renovations all the time. The issue came when I requested a DoorDash order be delivered to my room instead of me going to the lobby to retrieve it - seemed like a pretty standard request for several hundreds of dollars upcharge nightly. After 30 minutes, my order still hadn't made it to my door, so I went downstairs. Upon arriving to the lobby, the front desk manager was holding my order (the only order there), and berating the bellhop as to why it hadn't been delivered. After several minutes of back and forth, the manager then offered me coffee as a means of rectifying the issue - after I'd already ordered ~$65 worth of room service, including coffee, that morning. I was so dissatisfied with the handling of this matter, I checked out early. Upon discovering the issues I encountered during my stay, the Director of Front Office, Lamond Conover, reached out to assure me that this was not their normal business operations and to give The Dupont Circle the chance to make it right upon my next visit. I was offered a terrace room, a dining credit, and a welcome drink upon my arrival (I requested champagne). I then rebooked for a stay in April, during the Cherry Blossom festivities. Upon my arrival, valet was nowhere to be found so my partner and I were forced to retrieve our own bags from the car, and the welcome drink was not available upon check in (I called ahead several times to make sure they knew my arrival time, but no one answered the phone). I was assured that the welcome drink would meet me once I got to the room; what actually arrived was two empty champagne glasses. Once I told the attendant that there was actually supposed to be a drink in the glasses, she retuned with prosecco instead of champagne. Other issues included one of the bellhops entering our room without knocking to retrieve room service dishes, the phones in our rooms not working, and overhearing staff at the Pembroke tell a patron that they should call the restaurant directly instead of the hotel because "they purposely turn the ringer off" and that "they never answer those phones." The most egregious part of all this is when I responded in earnest to an email asking how the stay was, and Ms. Conover responded (meant for internal purposes only), "Just respond to her request and wish her well...we do not need this headache anymore." I have NEVER experienced the unprofessionalism, egregious lack of care, and abysmal customer service I experienced at this property. Feel free to patronize the Pembroke (their food and customer service were impeccable), but avoid booking this overpriced insult of a "luxury" hotel at all costs. read more

Recently stayed here for a night. The hotel it easy to find. Since we stayed on a Saturday, we were able find street parking instead of purchasing valet parking. The only reason I knocked off a star is because I felt like the room was small for being a 5-star hotel/the price point. However, highlights of the room would definitely be the heated bathroom floors (amazing), the robes, the way the room was decorated, and the windows! Housekeeping even came around and gave us little bottles of water and chocolates. We also enjoyed some drinks at their bar and that was a great experience too! We stayed here for 4 nights during our time in DC and it was just ok for a 5-star hotel, guess it did the job in terms of providing a bed to sleep in. Next time not likely to stay here given the steep price. We had a double bed room with larger square footage to provide more playing room for our kids. That was ideal. Daily water bottle was provided and umbrellas provided during the rain. The location of the hotel was great with easy access to tourist areas. We did not interact with staff much. They had to bring us a mini fridge so we can store some drinks and food for the kids. read more

My husband and I booked one night staycation here for his birthday. The hotel room looked / felt immaculately clean. The bed was cozy, the sheets were comfortable and we slept like babies. As parents of two littles ones, a restful nights sleep is hard to come by! We appreciated the 12 noon check out and the ability to have a wonderful full breakfast delivered to our room. From the outside, this building doesn't look like much. It resembles an apartment complex more than a hotel. Inside, we were pleasantly surprised by how elegant it was. The front desk staff were friendly. The hallways had plush carpeting. Our room was clean and had premium toiletries. We stayed on the day of a parade and the windows did not do a good job of keeping out the noise and sirens from the street. We were easily able to store our bags for a few hours after we checked out. We booked through Chase and they gave us a room upgrade, complimentary macaroons, and dining and bar credits. A great property in a prime location off of Dupont Circle. The room was comfortable with some nice amenities like a heated bathroom floor, and they were nice enough to send a bottle of Prosecco up for our anniversary. The breakfast (included with our Chase room rate) was very good -- the bloody mix was homemade and tasty, and the steak was flavorful. The prices would have been a bit high if we weren't staying there, but as an included benefit it's a great deal! We had some service issues at check-in and in being interrupted despite putting up a do not disturb sign twice, but we were able to meet with the Front Desk Director on the way out who was very kind and helped us to resolve the issues. Great location in the heart of Dupont Circle and nice hotel overall. Honestly, it doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel, more like a 4-star hotel. I was in a deluxe king room and it still felt quite small -- not much bigger than what you'd find in NYC. The room was lovely and mostly clean, except for spider/bug debris on one corner of the ceiling of the bathroom. Also, the toilet kept running, so I had to open the tank to close the flapper after every flush. Very cheap ironing board with thin padding. The hotel's cocktail lounge and restaurant are quite good. Staff were friendly and helpful, including great housekeeping and room service. So I like this hotel and would stay there again, except for the 5-star pricing which feels way too high for a hotel that feels 4-star at most. read more

I stayed at The Dupont Circle Hotel for around a week in March and had a wonderful experience. The highlights were the location, service, and value. Location: The hotel is right on Dupont Circle, walking distance to a metro station and several restaurants and cafes. Though we could hear the sounds from the street at night, this was expected and didn't bother us much. Service: We had excellent service all around, ranging from someone at the front desk providing us guidance to seeing the city, people opening the door for us as we entered/exited the hotel, and thoughtful housekeeping service that even provided us macarons in our room one evening. As for the room, I found it fairly spacious with a comfortable bed. I thought we got great value for what we paid, given the location, service, and room. Would happily stay here again! read more

It has a great Thanksgiving and Valentines day menues. The Dupont Hotel is an integral part of our very distinguised neighborhood, Dupont Circle. The ground floor bar, The Doyle, has great drinks and bar food, all with the best view of the national memorial fountain honoring the Admiral Frances Dupont a civil war hero. I enjoyed the mid-century style of this hotel, but the room was tiny and somewhat uncomfortable. When checking in, you should ask for a room with a street view. My room faced the center, which was basically an air shaft. The room itself was well-appointed but small and awkwardly laid out. Also, there was no dresser and the mattress was uncomfortable--I woke up with a backache. I'd recommend this hotel for drinks, but I won't likely stay here again. read more

The Dupont Circle Hotel exceeded expectations. At half the price of the other hotels I considered, the room was small but very comfortable for two people. The design of the room was superior: there is no art in sight, but rather, the wall behind the bed is a mosaic of wood and metal leaf. Dropped ceilings with down lights at the entrance and window wall ingeniously create alcoves for the coffee maker at one side and a daybed at the other. Striped carpeting complements the leather day bed by the shuttered window, and the headboard is covered in matching leather. The marble bathroom features a radiant stone floor. All controls (for shower, lights, blackout shades, and--most important to me--the thermostat, which turns on and off without the customary delay) are easy to use and intuitive. The room was carefully and thoroughly cleaned and straightened, exceptional in an era of alternate-day cleaning. And when I'd forgotten to remove the "Do Not Disturb" sign, most impressive was the text message asking me whether I wanted the room cleaned. A minor criticism: the sink is unenclosed, and not only does that reduce privacy, but it also means that anyone using the bathroom at night and turning on the light disturbs the other person. read more

By requiring my credit card data to make a reservation, the system was able to charge me for a reservation date that I did not sign up for. Then I was told that I was a no show. I would rate this hotel with every bit of six stars! My parents checked-in on Wednesday after flying in from Germany, and they have absolutely loved the accommodations. The room is stunning, and everything in there is modern and up-to-date. For example they mentioned that the mattress seemed like it was brand new, and even better than their mattress back home. My father also commented on the wonderful bathroom, and there was no shortage of hot water. I also think that the best part about this hotel is it's location, and it's super close to all of the museums and things happening downtown. Even though it's been a little cold, my parents are used to that, and they have been out and about since 8am, and since the location is very walkable, it makes it easy for them to get to places. Wonderful luxury boutique hotel in a great location with an exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. Harriet checked us in and upgraded us to a lovely corner king deluxe room. Small but subtly elegant, beautifully appointed room with a luxurious, comfortable bed filled with large fluffy feather pillows and a corner leather couch and full size desk with an ergonomic leather office chair by the window. Perfectly comfortable for me and my husband. Only a 2 min walk to Redline Metro, Starbucks, CVS, and Kramers books. Restaurants everywhere! The lovely Phillips Collectiononly was only a five minute walk. They even have turn down service with chocolate and automatic blackout blinds behind the shuttered wall of windows. GUESTS BEWARE!!! We were hit with over $3k in erroneous charges, and despite multiple calls, there's still no resolution. I prepaid for three rooms as a treat for my parents and sister, but the day after our stay, the hotel charged my card again for all the rooms. How could they claim they have no record of payment when I have receipts proving the charges?It's now been three days, and this situation is completely unacceptable. The hotel's behavior is appalling--they're acting like scammers.Warning to all future guests: Check your card for fraudulent additional charges! This hotel has shown a complete lack of professionalism, and I will never stay here again. Update: Instead of fixing the issue, they charged us two new fees--$860 and $536--which were the original prepaid amounts. So far, I've had these amounts deducted from my account: $860, $536, $682, $1,029, $860, and $536. The first three are legitimate, but the last three are completely wrong. To top it off, there were small room service charges for services we never ordered. This hotel should be ashamed of themselves! read more

I had such a wonderful time here. I was here in early 2024 and I visited again in November-December 2024. The service is extraordinary. The staff were so friendly and efficient from booking to checkout and everything in between. They gave me a lot of good tips about local eateries and bars and how to take public transportation from the hotel. They are right next to the metro station, so I was able to go to so many places without having to pay ridiculous prices for a taxi or ride sharing service. They also have an awesome brunch and the hotel bar is quite nice. The hotel is really clean and the feels warm. I really enjoyed both my stays in 2024. read more

Everything about our hotel stay was perfect. Walking into the lobby, we were greeted by welcoming hotel staff. We were shown where the cafe is located, the bar, the area where fresh coffee will be served early in the morning as well as a $25 hotel credit to be used at our leisure. Once we were given our room keys, we were whisked up to the top floor. Is that suede on the hallway walls? Sexy! Our room was a corner room and brought nice lighting into the room. The bathroom fixtures were contemporary and the shower was large, so large that there wasn't a door?? The bathroom products were also upscale, I liked the shampoo. Oh, and "the" coolest feature?? I'm taking a whizz and the bathroom floor was heated?! Now that class baby! The king size bed was comfy, we both felt rested the next day. When they design these upscale hotels, they're pushing for a minimalist feel in a smaller space. There was no furniture to put my socks, underwear and the bathrooms had no shelves for shaving cream, deodorant and hair products. I usually stay at a upscale hotel brand but I found the Doyle Collection of Hotels by accident. The hotel group has hotels in London, Ireland and Washington DC. No NYC hotels?? I must investigate and truth be told, I was very impressed with the operation. My next review is going to be about the cafe, that was a five star experience. Easy check-in/out, very polite customer service member. Doors were held open, valet was great and easy, all questions answered. Something happened, and we were given keys to the wrong room, but getting the issue resolved was very quick, and the host was very apologetic. The room was very nice and clean, small but very nice. The bathroom has floor warmers, shower was small but nice, no conditioner provided, bring your own. It was a good location to everything. When we came back from a quick exploration trip, someone had been in the room and moved things around. Nothing was taken, just a bit unusual. read more
