This hotel was okay for what we came here for, a graduation that was right down the street. Pros : it was clean and quiet, and was centrally located to everywhere we needed to be. Cons: the hotel claims "official hotel of the NFL", however they only played the games that were on regular tv, so we had to go elsewhere to watch the Patriots game. Also, the Bistro is only open at 5pm, so with nothing in walking distance, they didn't have anything for lunch. When I went to order champagne splits from the front desk, they were out.. and didn't have many other drinks to choose from. When we went to the pool/jacuzzi around 7pm, everything was blacked out, no lights on and the jacuzzi had a very strong chlorine smell to it. Overall it was an "okay" hotel, but for the price and for it being a Marriott, I was expecting better. read more

Made my reservation in May for an August 26th one night stay. Drove 10 hours from Salt Lake City for a concert and upon my arrival I was told that the hotel cancelled my reservations and wanted to put me in a hotel 15 to 20 miles away. That they had over booked. They asked if I received an E-mail explaining this and I said no. They said because I made reservations through a third party, there was no way for them to E-mail me. The stadium is only 5 miles away and I was going to Uber to the stadium for the concert. I asked to talk to a manager and this is when Philip, assistant GM, basically said the same thing that the check in person told me. Room was cancelled and they would book me another room at a different location. I was not the only person they did this to. The front desk was full of people checking in and getting re-located. After becoming upset with this situation and how I was being treated by the hotel, Philip did accommodate me, I waited 30 minutes because their system was down and my initial room was cancelled. I did get a room which was nice, with no discount for the stress they put me through. Imagine driving 10 hours to see a concert and the hotel you booked with 3 months prior tells you there are no rooms available. When I book a room and make plans, I expect the room to be available. Will I stay at any Courtyard-by-Marriott again? Absolutely not. Will I tell my friends about my experience with this hotel? Absolutely. read more

I love staying at Marriott hotels, but I must say I was unpleasantly surprised to check in tonight here in Phoenix after midnight (because of a flight delay) to find the A/C going full blast in my room and the temperature registering at 63 degrees! So I called this my home for about a week and I will say other than being stuck in the middle of no where Arizona and having to work some weird hours... Ill probably check in here again if the opportunity presented itself... And yay for Marriott Rewards! UPSIDE: Everything is practically new. They have a small gym but its well stacked. The pool area is nice and quiet and a great place to lounge. They don't enforce the 11 PM closure but be prepared to walk around the building to get back in - if you decide to lounge after hours. Breakfast got really boring after the 3rd day but its typical continental... omelette made to order and everything else is buffet ( sausage, bacon, ham, oatmeal, pastries, waffles, fruit , yogurt ...) cafe is always available at the the coffee counter by the front desk and it's complimentary. They bring out the complimentary cookies at night.. So just incase you don't have any snacks in your room - you know where to go. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. Desk, bed, mini living room , coffee machine, iron and ironing board, couch and entertainment area, desk and work area.WIFI works well and the business center is quite accommodating, if you need to print. But otherwise you have everything you need in your room. The service is great, everyone is friendly, the cleaning ladies do an excellent job and even wrote me a personal thank you message bec I tip everyday they clean my room. The chocolates are an added touch and Paul Mitchell products are not great but ok for the room rate and despite having the iPad, I appreciated the complimentary WSJ every morning at the lounge. DOWNSIDE: Parking is free but a pain if you stay out too late. Ugh you have to park way in the back. Access to this property can be challenging bec the road sign is really small. I missed the hotel a few times but found my way. Bar and restaurant hours were inconvenient. They only stay open for 6-10 I think... Unfortunately, I discovered this when I just wanted to have a glass of wine and unwind. Note to Hotel :Stack the fridge with wine or make it available for purchase at the lil hotel store! Other than that the bartender was pretty friendly and courteous. NOTE: Bar charges appear as restaurant charges On your hotel invoice so You don't look like a total wino when you expense your stay. read more

We were in town for a wedding and stayed here. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They have free cookies at the front desk at night, and warm coffee in the lobby all day. The breakfast buffet is worth it. If only for convenience at a reasonable price. The cashier originally charged us full price for the kids, but I had he ask a supervisor and it turns out, children 2 and under are free and 11 and under are half price. Happy to learn the hotel was near the Dodgers Spring Training Camp, so we were able to catch a game too. BONUS!!! My only complaint is the night person had an attitude problem. Like we were bothering her by checking in at 11:00 PM. read more

Stayed here at the end of June for a few days. Super friendly staff. Normally I go about my business and only talk to people that I have to come into contact with, regarding whatever it is we are doing, but they made us feel like we were special guests any time we were outside our room. The rooms were very spacious and clean. They do a great job of making sure things are kept up. Ive done quite a bit of traveling this year than usual and this place was by far the best experience I have had at a hotel from all these travels. I would recommend this hotel for anyone having to stay in this area and would stay here again if needing a hotel again in this area. read more

And though I had concerns when I saw I was across the vending machine, I have to say KUDOS to the structural design of this Marriott. I slept like a baby! And I really needed it. I would like to say how wonderful this Marriott has been! My best friend and I stayed for an overnight visit to watch a local football game and this hotel exceeded our expectations. To start, Neil, the front desk staff, was beyond courteous and answered all of our questions and concerns. The room was very clean and offered nice upgrades. The following check out morning, Neil again was working and treated us with a friendly smile. The lobby here in the Marriott offers Starbucks coffee and a fresh breakfast. This is my second time staying here. We got 2 rooms both where nice at check in. Aside from the elevator the hotel is very well kept. The price we paid seemed fair. This is the problem #1 they now charge $20 per night to your credit card for unknown reasons. They say incidentals not sure what that means I guess if you steal the towels. #2 They only cleaned our room 1 time from our 4 night stay. This was completely unacceptable in my book. They weren't even busy and the cleaning lady saw us leave as she was cleaning the adjacent room. I get this is not a luxury hotel however you do pay close to $100 I would get exceptional service in a Las Vegas hotel. I'm not sure what happened but within a year the service has gone down tremendously. I'm not sure I would stay here again. To be fair it's very clean and well kept that's why they get 2 stars. read more

I went for an event and they did a great job of coordinating the activities and giving "great room" area for meet and greets. My wife and I stayed here for a concert. We checked in and went up to our room, the view of the freeway sucked but it wasn't a romantic getaway, so it didn't really bother me. After getting settled into one of the cleanest hotel rooms ive ever had, I went down while waiting for friends and ordered a couple beers, a chicken quesadilla and some wings (yep I was hungry). I was watching the Cardinals game on one of their couches and they were kind enough to bring the food out to me. The food was pretty good, and was the best option instead of trying to leave to find something. The staff here was so friendly, and funny. After coming back from the concert we spent some time chatting with the frond desk guy who was super awesome and kind. I went back out with my buddy for a night of shenanigans... I want to warn everyone about this though... After returning around 230 am with several whiskey and beers in my system I attempted to walk thru the front glass door..... Yes... I tried to walk thru it.... Apparently at night you have to use your key to have the automatic door open for you. I was not aware of this and my keen senses were not working appropriately... I face planted the glass door, thank god someone opened it for me because I probably would have just curled up and called it a night there. If im ever on that side of town and need a place to stay this will be my first choice! read more

This was the best experience I've had with a hotel in the Phoenix area for Spring Training! Every place else we have stayed has had unbelievably rude, even disrespectful, customer service, rooms have been dirty/broken, and areas have been noisy. It's been bad 6 years for hotels for us there! This year however we tried somewhere new! Marriott Courtyard treated us to EXCELLENT customer service, a new and clean lobby/bistro/bar, beautiful new and clean rooms, and a nice quiet atmosphere. We actually felt like we were on vacation! Imagine that? :) We will definitely be staying here every year going forward! And it's close to the stadiums we frequent. Especially Camelback! GO DODGERS! read more

Wonderful staff and stylish, modern rooms!! I recently stayed here while in town for a wedding and we checked in late. A very nice gentleman greeted us and we were offered our pick of rooms. We chose a room on the first floor near the workout area and pool entrance, and I was very pleased with the modern design. The king bed was very comfy and I liked the, again comfy, couch and work station. But I especially want to commend the staff of this hotel for making us feel at home and being very friendly. When I came home after my stay I realized I had left a necklace that was very dear to me at the hotel. I called, Shyla answered, and she gave me great news! Our housekeeper turned my necklace in and they had it in storage. They mailed it back to me in L.A. This hotel is A-OK! :) read more

Spent the weekend here for the Eagles v. Cardinals game this weekend. It was super clean and the staff was very accommodating. This is a great hotel with very helpful employees. Since we booked through a third party, they were unable to guarantee the bed situation (we needed two queens vs one king). Unfortunately, the first night we stayed they had no queens available, but when we went to the front desk the following day, they quickly moved us into two queens with a balcony, no extra charge. The place is clean; the Bistro is delicious! The only downside was a crazy couple yelling at 1:45am. However, a call to the front desk and security being sent quickly rectified the situation. I was honestly super impressed by this hotel. Now we did get a room on the other side of the hotel not facing the highway so not sure what its like to get one of those but our room was SUPER clean. Very very nice. I was very happy with it. The shower was great. Everything seemed so new and clean. The only thing I didnt like all that much was the bed was a bit harder than I like and the sun rose on the side of the hotel we stayed on and it was super bright in the morning and reflected off the AC in the room which woke me up. I put towels there the next night and had no problems the next morning with reflection. The breakfast is AMAZING and totally worth the price. They make eggs to order. The staff was super friendly especially the ones in the restaurant. The pool and jacuzzi were really nice. Everything was fantastic. I wish more hotels were like this one. Oh yes and its next to a huge mall with lots of popular shops so everything was very convenient. read more

i stayed here after finding a good rate on Hotwire ($58 before taxes and fees) the night i checked in. for that purpose, i was pleased with the place. their service stood out twice: once i promptly got another blanket delivered to the room, and the day i checked out i called to ask - well after checkout - if i could stash luggage there for the day. they allowed me to do this and it was a huge help. a couple criticisms: first, i'm surprised this hotel places itself in the category that doesn't offer anything complimentary for breakfast. i don't expect much from complimentary hotel breakfasts but they're a great value to me because i can quickly go to the lobby, get something to eat, then return to my room and continue with my morning. technically that's possible here - there's a coffee shop that seems to close at 9:30am - but i had to pay and it took forever. i'm generally annoyed by hotels that think they're too swanky to include simple stuff like this, and hotels that normalize charging for every little thing. wouldn't have thought Courtyard fancied itself at that level. second, the room (one queen/king?) was set up differently than a standard hotel room, with the bed rotated 90 degrees from standard, some weird kidney-shaped couch (which i think pulled out to... a twin bed?) at the end of the bed and the TV to the left of those lying in the bed. i couldn't decide if this was unnecessary creativity on the part of the hotel or compensation for a more narrow floor plan, which maybe they can fit more of in a hallway. regardless, this combined with the chintzy efforts toward making the room fancy (e.g., a sculpture, which was originally glued to a corner table but had been pulled off so it just sort of tottered) left me wondering why they didn't just do things the normal way. obviously the place sort of hit a couple nerves i have, but overall it was good and i wouldn't hesitate staying again for the same price. read more

Booked online and then the day before our arrival called just to make sure all was good. They offered to look around town to find us a room. Thought that was the point of making reservations. The bed and the shower make all the difference in a hotel stay - our room far exceeded our expectations. The room was big and well furnished with clean comfortable furniture. The shower was not a shower/tub combo so it was an oversized shower with glass doors. The hotel lobby is immaculate and looks like a five-star hotel. The staff is very friendly. My company hosted a dinner and awards night at the hotel last night and the experience was the best we could have imagined! Working with Kristine Cole was fantastic and the communication was always on point. I walked in to be blown away by the set up and I had compliments on the food all night. I came into work today to be flooded with emails on how impressed everyone was with the presentation. The staff that was there to help us was GREAT! I believe Tim was in charge and he had Anna and one other gentleman with him and they made us laugh and gave us the privacy we needed. This hotel was clean and comfortable. What made it outstanding though was the staff. Everyone we delt with were extremely helpful, especially the front desk group. We had requested a quieter room because we were first placed next to the elevator. We were accommodated right away but unfortunately next to the ice machine. I've stayed at this hotel 5 times so far and I love it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They completed their renovation in 2014 and did a very nice job. From my experience I believe they have 2 different sized rooms. I've stayed in both. The first time I was in the larger room that had a double love seat, ample counter space, and a closet as well as an armoire. I thought all rooms were like that until my next visit when I was put in the smaller room. It had a single love seat, less counter space, and only an armoire to hang clothes. I have no idea how they determine which room they put you in. I think it might have to do with when you check in and what's available because I arrived early the last time I was there and I got the bigger room again (even though I got a great deal on the price). Even still, the smaller rooms are just fine. The beds are firm and comfortable. They also have 5 pillows on the bed that range from soft to firm. The hotel is near the freeway so you do hear a little bit of the freeway noise if you have a room on the freeway side of the hotel. The new bistro is very nice with a couple of booths with a television set. Great to watch the games. The lounge area is also very nice with multiple seating areas. read more
