We stayed one night and as soon as we arrived to our room my 7 year old found an un identified pill, My daughter knows and has been through not to put nothing in her mouth. I took it down to the front desk and let them know it's important that maintenance cleans these rooms carefully because we have all seen in the news a child putting a pill in their mouth left behind by other guest and it has deadly consequences. She was extremely nice and polite, apologized and said she was going to share that with everyone. The lady in the front office this morning was rude and had such an unwelcoming face, we said good morning and nothing and when we asked her if they had ice she said nope not down here not bothering to let me know where I could find ice. No just no. This is one of the worst hotels I ever stayed at. First of all we got to the hotel the man at the front desk said that our room was oddly scheduled and that the hotel system was broken so instead of having one king room we had to get two queens. But it was when I got to the bathroom when the review went way down, the reason for this is due to the fact that there was hair everywhere. The hair was all over the floor and the shower to the point to where I had to wear my crocs in it. The bath room was also stained like it had been through major water damage. Another thing is the lotion and make up wipes had something yellow on the almost like a booger. The one good thing is the staff which were nice and helpful but that still was not enough to make up for the fact that they didn't clean the bathroom properly. I would not recommend booking this hotel unless you ran out of options due to the fact that it was a very dirty place. read more

This is my preferred hotel when staying in San Antonio. It's close to the office I visit, it's near some pretty good dining options and the space is well-appointed and it feels new even though it's been a few years since construction. While that's all nice and good I choose the Courtyard over other hotels because of the morning crew at the bistro. Marco is the chef but he also covers the register as well and I don't know how he can be so energetic in the morning much more it be infectious. I've literally heard people tell him 'you've made my day.' I wrote a separate review for the Bistro where I've extolled Marco so I won't spend more words on him. Really, there are only two points of improvement: 1-the business center computers are in drastic need of upgraded; not even Microsoft uses Internet Explorer anymore and neither should the Marriott. 2-the fitness center too could also use some updating. read more

They are located right next to The Rim, a very nice shopping district in Northern San Antonio. Check in was great, the lady who helped me was very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Overall, the property is rather dated, but actually kept up really nice, with even good working order amenities. My room and bed were comfy. Shower was amazing; offering nice water pressure, good hot water and good drainage. The only gripe was the soap really sucked... it was very hard to lather up and very ineffective. Another gripe was the AC in the room was too loud and cycled on about every 5 mins. The person providing housekeeping to my room did an excellent job! They cleaned it like it was a new person checking each day. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again when back in the area for business! read more

Stayed here recently during a business trip. The property is new, nice and fresh, and is in a trendy area. My room was very nice, clean and everything was functional, but there were a couple of minor issues. The TV isn't very easily viewable from the bed, especially on the left side, and there's no way to move the TV (other than rotating on a fixed base) for better viewing. It's a nice TV, and has Netflix and other apps builtin, but they need to work on viewing angles. More troubling was the wi-fi. After seeing that the "free" wi-fi wasn't going to cut it from a performance perspective, I tried to use the premium "high speed" wi-fi, but I had problems getting my devices connected and staying connected; I'd frequently get thrown back to the login screen, and even when it was connected, the speed and reliability weren't good. I spoke to the hotel staff about it and they promptly removed the charges from my bill. I didn't partake in any of the food/beverage services, but the bar area looked nice and had a nice TV for viewing. Lobby area was comfortable and functional for working . The shower area in my room was particularly nice, with a big heavy glass door and full stone tile, floor and walls. Water pressure was an issue, but I guess that's true almost everywhere. I did go jogging one morning, and while there aren't really any developed trails here yet, there's a fully paved sidewalk from the hotel to the nearby shopping are, and there are plenty of sidewalks there, and they're very accessible in the early morning hours before the shops open. Overall, this is a nice property, and I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Truck Break-ins Common in Area We had our truck broken into on January 18 @ 8:30pm. Called police and they came. The hotel had no one on duty to allow the cop to see the video....and no one willing to come in to let the cop view it that night!! Crappy customer service!! Their security guard doesn't come in until 10pm!! Why??? The hotel wouldn't answer that question. We were parked in the first handicap spot, right next to the front entrance. We were told by both the cop and security guard that thieves have been breaking into trucks looking for guns. We had no guns.... Just my camera. They did over $500 in damage to our truck. Did I mention we parked the truck, went straight to our third floor room and got a notification on our phone that our truck alarm was going off. Less than 10 minutes from us parking it and walking in! We had to drive over 1,000 miles without being able to lock our drivers side door. NOT FUN OR SAFE!! I reached out to the hotel and to Marriott corporate after arriving home last week. They weren't willing to do anything. Check with them on what time their security guard comes on duty. Maybe they will change it to earlier in the evening. As far as the room, we had a nice balcony room. Strange layout. Bed faces sideways not at the tv. Makes it very uncomfortable for laying in bed watching tv. read more

This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at ever! I wish every hotel was like this. The room I received is amazing...it has a full kitchen and a living room in addition to my bedroom. I could actually live here if I wanted too. The breakfast is just amazing too. Fresh eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, fruit, cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee and a waffle maker. What else could you ask for? Nothing. Also there is a managers reception at night from 6 to 7:30pm. I had no idea this existed because the last 3 nights I was working late but tonight I walked in to find a full spread of food. It was meatball night tonight and I had a nice meatball sandwich on toasted italian bread. I also found a portable beer keg too. Yes they give you beer with your food. There is no reason to go out to eat because everything is here. I lwish I would have seen the keg sooner but I got in a few beers in 22 minutes! read more

Well appointed Courtyard hotel. Property is in good proximity to Six Flags and the La Cantera Resort & Spa where I was attending a conference. No complimentary breakfast but a latte stand with additional options from the kitchen. Baristas could use some additional training for this SEATTLE girl, but the property was clean and quiet. Just what I needed for my 3 night stay. This hotel is a good distance from downtown and the Alamo if you are looking to sightsee a car is required. read more

Stayed 2 nights. The first night I suggest a 4-5 star rating but the second night = 2 star. This Courtyard is modern and clean, with the staff exceedingly courteous. The problem with my second night was the locked door to the adjoining guest room. There is zero weather stripping or sound proofing. A family of three arrived next door as I was preparing for sleep. It was as if they were standing adjacent to my bed. Fortunately the duty clerk located an alternative room for me. Do your self a favor and request a room without a door to the adjoining room. read more

Staff has been so polite and accommodating. The rooms have always been very clean. The TVs in all of the rooms are in a weird location.

Wife and I came up from Houston for a weekend getaway. The "Bistro" is a joke, entire Marriot exspearance was way below exspectations. Dirty smelly carpet 3rd floor hallway, elevator had trash on floor shower door missing gasket floods bathroom, The $2.50 coffee at front desk was old. Courtyard Marriott at the Rim is a very nice hotel in a very nice part of town. Courtyards that are new, or have been remodeled, are modern and welcoming. Not a Marriott, but not Fairfield or Residence Inn, either. It is what it is. If you want quiet, clean, small gym, small office area with a few computers and printing, airline kiosk and touchscreen news and weather for business travelers, small pool, library, comfortable chairs in the lobby that you can actually enjoy reading a book on San Antonio history in, and exceptionally professional staff who wear suits, call you by name, say hello, good bye, and cater to every and any need, stay here. This is not a Residence Inn, so don't expect buffet and happy hour-The 'Bistro' has good food for moderate prices if you don't want to go to one of a hundred restaurants or a thousand stores at the RIM or the high-end mall (a.k.a. Shops at Cantera), within a mile or two of this property. It's nice to have service in a less expensive hotel, where the agent at the front might be taking your food order, or making your morning latte or evening cocktail, or scheduling your 5AM wakeup. It's personal, not business. This is the best thing about Courtyard, and I have found it to be consistent across the country. Although close to everything, including the Westin's resort golf courses, the huge Six Flags, and I-10, it is also away from everything in a private, undeveloped area, outside the shopping center and closer to open land and condos. This makes parking safer. Because it's in the high 100s this week, the option of Starbucks in the morning, a meal to order without having to get dressed up, and a full bar at night, are very handy for the traveler who wants to stay in, and you'll have no trouble striking a conversation with another customer, or the staff. Since it's sooooo hot, and Six Flags is closed until tomorrow, and there are ZERO kids in the pool, an evening swim is a thought...nah, too damn hot outside this week...oh well...relaxing with a cold one and watching the Little League World Series is a forty-something husband and father away from home's idea of a good time. In regards to the June review, one star...really...totally unfair...the pool is small, but the fact that's it outdoors, and right next to the Bistro where one can sit on the outside porch, have a bite, a smoke, a drink, watch their kids swim safely, and relax after a long day of meetings or shopping or roller coasters...that's not misleading...that's the reality. Oh...freeways in Texas are weird...don't hate Marriott, player. In regards to the March review, he's talking about the Residence Inn...great...we did live in one for a few weeks, and it was just what he said it was. If you want to fight with the 75-year-old retired Air Force Colonel's wife over the last cup of batter or sausage patty or meatball, go for it. I'll read my free USA Today enjoying a waffle or omelet brought to my table, a Minute Maid Apple Juice and some fresh brewed coffee for 10 bucks, and I'll like it, because I have to work this week, all week, and I deserve good coffee. Stayed here many many times. Staff is polite and accommodations are adequate. Good location for my needs and the grounds are great with lots of very nice restaurants close by. Complaints: My cell phone doesn't work in the room for some reason. Food is below average. I wish Courtyard would stop serving microwave food and charging the prices they do. If I want a Lean Cuisine, I'll buy one from the freezer and microwave it in my room. Not the hotel's fault, it's a Marriott Courtyard issue.... read more

This hotel just plain smells bad. It is apparent they are undergoing renovation. That being said, the elevator they have set up as one to be used for moving stuff has moving blankets hanging from the walls. Someone or something has clearly urinated on those blankets, REPEATEDLY. The one time I saw construction people on an elevator moving stuff, they have been on the good elevator, not the one set up to move stuff. The clean elevator. Would it be too much to ask that they wash the moving blankets? 5 nights...Staff has to know it smells like that. My room smells bad. I mean BAD. I was here for a conference where the host hotel (La Cantera Resort) was full. $120 a night here, $120 a night there. Go there. it's beautiful, and smell is a big indicator of cleanliness to me. Maybe they will fix the smell, but I won't be back of I can help it. read more

We chose Courtyard at the Rim for our 50th High School Reunion and couldn't be more pleased. We got a fair rate and the banquet food and facility were perfect. Best was the bar/restaurant area where we had informal gatherings, made too much noise and never got a complaint. Very friendly front desk staff. Courtyard made this special occasion even better. I had requested extra pillows and towels for our stay, there were no extras in our room so I had to call down to the front desk to request them. The girl told me we didn't request any at all, I told the girl I did when I booked the room and 2 days before. After stating that, they were delivered promptly as well as Eric the maintenance worker who fixed a light in our room that was flickering. The girl at the front desk (Samantha? maybe a different name) was very rude on the phone when I was requesting pillows and towels. There was also NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER!!!!!! How does one take a shower with no hot water? We had to turn the sink on to make the shower water hot. That is very inappropriate, why weren't we told there was no hot water when we checked in or a note stating you had to turn the sink on to make the water hot. When even then the water was not that hot, barely manageable since we needed to take a shower. We booked this room because it looked great but we left very disappointed and will never stay here again when we come to San Antonio because there is NO HOT WATER!!! You can let your guests know that if there is an issue with the water not becoming hot or how to make it hot that way they're not taking a FREEZING COLD SHOWER like we did after a long day of travel. I do not recommend this hotel, it may look nice but the girl at the front desk is rude and there is not hot water, you know in case you couldn't tell by my explanation above. read more

I have nothing bad to say about this Hotel. Came down to visit a friend who was here on Business and was blown away on the service, comfy rooms, and modern layout. I'm giving a review of one star because the hotel had no hot water. The desk seems to be unaware of the problem and I know we are not the only ones who had this problem. I spoke with several other guests in the lobby who were also showering tepid at best. Too bad, because everything else was great. The place is clean, pleasant, and the beds are wonderful. But a hotel really should have hot water, at a minimum. read more

Convenient location to UTSA, but "free breakfast" situation is annoying. There was only one person working at the coffee bar, which is where you pick up the "free breakfast," so the line was very LOOOONNNNNGGG. But, if you want to serve yourself coffee in the lobby, you have to pay for it. Very annoying. Not sure that the room was entirely clean - the shower stall was either stained or a little dirty. Guys, I'm picky when it comes to hotels. First off the staff was extremely friendly. The lobby area was very nice and welcoming. I usually take a can of Lysol and wipes with me when we travel. This time of forgot and was very upset. Once we walked in our room there wasn't any need for me to clean again. The room was very clean and nothing was questionable. That night when we got back I was once again happy. The bed was comfortable and the air was perfect. The next morning we ordered Starbucks coffee which was a nice treat. The receptionist lady came around the corner and was friendly once again and wished me a happy birthday and still knew our names from check in. I would totally recommend this hotel. read more

We have stayed here many times and have loved it. So disappointed yesterday. Specifically requested a balcony over looking pool. All other stays, had been no problem. This stay it was. Not only that they were having a women's physique contest which might as well have been a porn convention. There was no place to park. Was told to park on street which there was no parking. Entrance to hotel had women almost nude posing for pictures. This is a family hotel. Do not appreciate having this there and my seven year old son having to see almost makes women everywhere. I was told by manager that he could not ask them to cover up. I am not a prude but this is not appropriate place for a family hotel to allow almost nude women in heels parade around getting their pictures made. Also, if you do not have a place for me to park my car, then you should not expect people who are paying guest to park on the highway. I was able to get a refund and went elsewhere. Ever disappointed in Marriott and the staff there. Also disappointed in Marriott customer service for not caring about our complaint. Marriott, you have lost a faithful longtime rewards member forever! Shame on you! You only care about making a dollar by renting out banquet space and not your hotel paying guests. read more
