I want to give a special shoutout to Barbara who truly made me feel at home. She was warm, friendly, and went out of her way to connect with me including sharing that she has family in Southern California where I am from. Charles the shuttle driver was also incredibly sweet and kind and made transportation pleasant throughout my stay. There was only one area where improvement is needed. While most of the staff was friendly and attentive my experience with Pico the shuttle driver who worked until 11 PM was disappointing. I would not describe him as rude but he appeared uninterested in engaging with guests and lacked basic customer service manners. When greeted he did not respond. When asked simple questions such as how he was doing or about Connecticut he remained silent. His body language felt cold and unwelcoming which is not ideal for a role that involves interacting with tourists and hotel guests. Additionally, he expressed frustration in front of me to the concierge about having to drop off two groups at different locations even though the shuttle operates within a five mile radius. This gave the impression that he did not want to perform his job responsibilities. This was not an isolated incident as this behavior was consistent during all three days we encountered him. I believe this could be improved by having a conversation with him about the level of customer experience expected in his role and encouraging or recognizing efforts to provide basic hospitality

I stayed here for one night 7 or 8 years ago and remembered that it was quiet and convenient, so that made it easy to decide where I would stay again. Marc at the front desk checked me in, he was so nice and since I had already parked around back, he found me a room closest to the door so I could go right out to my car. My room was spotless, bed was comfy and the water was hot for my shower the following morning. I needed different pillows when I arrived and said it was no hurry since I was headed out shortly, but housekeeping brought them right away. I need to spend another night in the Hartford area in a couple of weeks, this one is not the most convenient to where I am headed, but I will probably stay again due to the great experience and free parking (some of the hotels in Manchester are charging for parking, and that is a big NO for me!).

There is a lot of space on the ground floor, large enough to host simultaneous events, plus plenty of smaller conference rooms and salons. It seems to be a very good place to hold an event. The heated pool was clean, and the exercise room was of a decent size. I wasn't quite so impressed as a guest staying here for the weekend. While some of the room upgrades are very nice (like the bathroom), this is one of those newer-styled renovations where you say "bye bye" to things like a dresser or a bathroom door, in favor of pull-out shelves and a sliding door. While the thermostat was definitely a more ancient digital one, it provided better climate control than many other higher-tech thermostats in other hotel rooms in which I've stayed. Eating here is a choice. The restaurant and bar area is nice, but food is expensive. I went out for breakfast, but I did scan the area for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is around $24. One friend also staying at the hotel for same event I attended reported that the amount and quality of the breakfast buffet food did not justify the price. He was also disappointed that while having Marriott Bonvoy Gold status, this was the first time in many years that he was required to pay full price for a breakfast at a Marriott. I also recalled watching a hostess, talking to a family of four experiencing sticker shock over the cost of the breakfast, explain to these guests how to get to the nearest Dunkins. There are several hotels in the immediate area, and I've stayed at some of the other ones, most recently the Hilton across the street. While the Hilton's pool and exercise rooms were closed, food was more reasonably priced. If you're going to stay in the area, do some research to determine which hotel will offer services more to your liking.

My only complaint is having a room right in front of the elevators (819) and they make a noise when they reach the floor which woke me up all night long. That aside.... I enjoyed my stay. There are 6-8 buildings total, but no elevations. Only stairs so if you are on the second floor just be aware! Upon entering our room, we learned that the walls are SUPER THIN! The people next door were singing karaoke to the top of their lungs and the man standing outside was smoking trees. The room itself was decent but nothing special. It comes with a living room, kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. The tub looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. The HOT water was amazing because the temperature outside was cold! Staff did salt the walkways. The breakfast was a LIMITED selection with soupy overnight oats! The staff on day shift was friendly. I have to add that the room where we held our business meeting leaked!!!!!! Like formed a puddle on the carpet. My stuff got drenched but luckily not ruined. Not much was done to accommodate.

No one to help bring all stuff to your room so it's quite some work (no Bellhops either so be prepared). This is our first time at a homewood suites and I love this setup! It's very spacious and comfortable. I always clean the surfaces, light switch's and remote controls etc. My wipes were very clean, no dirt or dust so housekeeping does a good job! We stayed in room 6205, king suite. The bed is comfortable and I melted into the pillows. Stared at some stains on the ceiling. Sleep wise, it was noisy for my husband, who slept next to the window. He said he was woken up by vehicles outside and woke up 4x during the night. He checked his watch that monitors his sleep pattern. I didn't hear anything. Breakfast ends at 9 so I had to painfully start waking up around 7ish and finally made it up at 8. There were only 4 hot items, breads and chia pudding. Hot items included egg, potato, pulled pork and sausage patty. My favorite was the pork, this is one of the better free breakfasts that we've had. Theres a guest laundry 24 hours right next to the gym. My shower had 2 shampoos and conditioner, no body wash. I asked the front desk to leave on my door since we were about to sleep but they said they'd deliver in the morning. Got nothing this morning. Shower curtain was ripped, got to examine it while showering with no soap last night. My tissue box was also half wet from the previous customer so had no tissues and no one delivered. 9:55 am someone banging something from Nextdoor or upstairs, I think it's maintenance? I can hear people talking while I'm in bed. Popeyes and LAZ parking right across the street. Highly recommend Bear smokehouse which is a 2 min drive. Target is also very close, 7 mins away. We are in a good location. Despite a few minor inconveniences, we should would stay again.

Less than three hours after checking in, while preparing for a photo shoot for my three-year-old daughter, the supervisor, Mike, came to my room and told my family we had to leave. He accused us of hosting a party and allowing children to use the pool unsupervised, neither of which was true. When I asked what I could do to avoid being removed, he told me there was nothing I could do because I had already violated "many policies," yet he never explained what those policies were. He also told me I was "lucky" to even get my security deposit back. As we were leaving, I stopped at the front desk to get the supervisor's name. Outside, a group of white individuals was staring at my family, and one woman began yelling racial slurs at us. Combined with the way I was treated and the refusal to hear my side, I left feeling that I was not treated fairly. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this hotel to people of color. I felt unwelcome, disrespected, and humiliated. I hope Marriott thoroughly investigates what happened so no other family has a similar experience.
