I have never stayed at a residence inn before, but I was impressed. I have there for two nights. I enjoyed having my own little "condo" for a few day. The suites are nice inside, full kitchen with an ice maker in the fridge and bathroom/vanity area is large, I didn't feel as if I was ontop of my friend getting ready. The suite has a tv with all streaming stations! (except Hulu)! Beds are comfortable. Our suite had a strong food odor but otherwise was clean. Comes with a dishwasher. This would be great place to stay on a longer trip! The pool was nice, the pool guy was there when we were there and he did not clean it well at all, lots of bugs. As a Marriott Bonvoy member of over 10 years, this was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Less than three hours after checking in, while preparing for a photo shoot for my three-year-old daughter, the supervisor, Mike, came to my room and told my family we had to leave. He accused us of hosting a party and allowing children to use the pool unsupervised, neither of which was true. When I asked what I could do to avoid being removed, he told me there was nothing I could do because I had already violated "many policies," yet he never explained what those policies were. He also told me I was "lucky" to even get my security deposit back. As we were leaving, I stopped at the front desk to get the supervisor's name. Outside, a group of white individuals was staring at my family, and one woman began yelling racial slurs at us. Combined with the way I was treated and the refusal to hear my side, I left feeling that I was not treated fairly. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this hotel to people of color. I felt unwelcome, disrespected, and humiliated. I hope Marriott thoroughly investigates what happened so no other family has a similar experience. read more

The experience was horrible I absolutely feel like the staff was racist I purchased my gift cards to use online ahead of my stay. Marriot does not specify that you have to use pay before the gift cards can be used.I landed to take my son to UCONN to start college my flight landed at 1am in the morning I'm a African American female the night manager was Caucasian I was refused service because I wanted to use my gift cards I called customer service and he called the police on me also had me vacate the premises at 3am with my elderly mom son and husband even the police did not understand why the gift card could not be taken when the policy clearly states that gift cards can be redeem he refuse to call upper management. I went to the previous hotel where I stayed when my son did his college visit it was overbooked therefore the gentleman called around and found a vacancy near by where they accepted gift cards. And gave exceptional service I called customer complaints over and over with no resolution I even received a ticket number it's been 1month on a half and no response. I had to book several rooms and change my booking daily due to a high demand and over priced rooms. To accommodate the rate I had at the original location. I never expected to be so humiliated by a company that doesn't knows anything about customer service. Never booked there the staff is rude and racist. read more

I was exceptionally disappointed in this Residence Inn. I planned to stay for 6 weeks and ended up cutting my stay short and left after 8 days. The room smelled awful, no matter how much I used Febreeze I couldn't get the smell out. My clothes had to be all dry cleaned because they smell too. The towels were super paper thin as was the bedding. The room setup was fine but the smell was overwhelming. My car was broken into in the parking lot and that's when I had enough. I never felt safe there. When I reported the car incident to the GM, Mike Lessing, he made me feel like I was to blame for the car. There were no cameras in the lot and they are NOT responsible for anything stolen or damage to your car. All the five stars review that you will see in their reviews are all faked as they are bribing customers that if you give them five star review thru Trilp advisor they will give you 20,000 points and Google review that they will give you 10,000 points. Staying here makes you feel as if you were walking in the egg shell even though you are a paying customer that you had to be the one to make the staffs comfortable than vice versa. From Assistant General Manager Michael Lessing, that if you give feedback to let them know that their staffs are Not in the same page, the Assistant General Manager will Tell You that your are very DEMANDING that they watch and listen how you speak with his staffs . (Ok be careful, as every Moved and every word you say you are being watch and being listened In this hotel Which makes me Feel more uncomfortable and to even think that there Might even be Camera inside my room), to front desk staffs And housekeeping with an attitude. The room they gave me has a refrigerator that had rust all over the door. Spider on the ceiling. Door that won't open right away (for safety inspection, you will get stuck inside if in case there was a fire). Clog sink, even I already told them that the sink was clogged and yet they did not even fixed it. They will not even bother to send you a 24 hour notice to let you know that there will be some noises due to their landscaping that was scheduled the following day as not to bother you in your sleep or while your relaxing. I will not Come back in this hotel and I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND staying here and there is no POINT as well in wasting your money in this Hotel. Even I am a very very long time Marriott Bonvoy member I do not post any reviews not unless it is very necessary so to let everyone knows how is the stay in these property and how you will be treated with rudeness and all the fake five star reviews. Our daughter and son in law were making a move from Bloomfield back home to Richmond, VA. We were summoned to drive one of the vehicles back. The Residence Inn was perfect for our 3 night stay. We visited friends and helped pack an a small home. Coming back to our "apartment" each night was perfect. We had a place to stash our leftovers that piled up as we ate around town. It was nice having a larger space than the usual room aforded by a tradiditonal hotel. This hotel is laid out like an apartment complex with individual units, nothing like the standard multi-level buildings we see every day. Everything was clean. The staff was friendly and the grounds were free of debris and tastelfully landscaped. There's a basketball court, a grilling area and a pool. The pool was "closed for the season" which I imagine is the season of Covid. It looks like a Continental Breakfast would normally be included in your stay, but since we are not living in normal times, the facility offered bags filled with fruit and muffin to grab and go. If you are looking for a bit of "like-home" and more privacy than you'd expect at a standard hotel, Residence Inn Hartford at Windsor is the place! Great value for the money spent. read more

I wish I could give zero stars! My daughter was at girls night here, about 5-7 teenage girls. The night supervisor named "Holly" came to the door accusing them of having a party and of smoking marijuana while she her self had a vape in her hand. They said they would turn down the music and she began to argue with them, as she continued to smoke her vape she began yelling at them and then said she was calling the police. My daughter immediately called me to come and get her. While on my way I told her to keep me on the phone, as she did I could hear the woman "Holly" in the background, being both sarcastic and condescending to the kids. When the police arrived she continued to accuse them of smoking and began smiling when the police began to make empty threats to arrest them. Many of the reviews for this location have her painted as a racist and while I never want to go off of anyone's experience, the behavior that I heard paints her in a very negative and biased light. I should also note when I arrived there was a group of 20 kids just hanging out, I asked my daughter if she knew them and she said no. The supervisor was willing to lie and send my children to jail in an attempt to ruin their future as it seems her only aspirations is to be a hotel supervisor. Be prepared to lug all of your stuff up a flight of stairs. Be prepared for your front door to be wide open/visible to the general public. Anyone can come straight to your door without going through a lobby. At any time. Forget the fact the front desk has the front door locked 24/7 because they clearly have security concerns. Any Joe Blow can knock on your door at any time. No, it didn't feel the safest as a single woman. But I digress. Guy was pleasant - not his fault - and gave me the upgrade to a 1 bd w loft. That sounds better than it was. That's the last room he had available and my membership status comes with an upgrade I never ask for. Maybe they could've offered the upgrade as many others have without my having had to ask? Just a thought. The place was filthy. The stairs hadn't seen a vacuum this century, the toaster was filthy, the dust was everywhere. It was gross. Thankfully, they had paper towels. I cleaned the bathrooms myself. One fork. One. One spoon. 3 knives. Lids to pots no longer there. Everything in the dishwasher - and I had to call the front desk twice to figure that out. No, there was no sticker on my dishwasher telling me that, despite the fact the nice lady - and she was nice! - on the phone told me there was supposed to be one there alerting me. Nothing to wash my one fork. You have to be kidding me. Get it together, folks. I not only complained the first day to the front desk - twice - about the state of my room, I also called corporate. After no call from any manager in 2 days and after my keys stopped working again - during a major rainstorm where I stood outside getting soaked - I decided enough was enough. I'm a Bonvoy guy and am usually fine with the basic Residence Inns, Fairfields, Courtyards, etc. but I would certainly never stay at this location again. As others have mentioned, do NOT stay on the ground level (ask for the 2nd floor of these villas) as I heard every step from the family staying above me starting at 6AM. The walls aren't much better, but I had a horrible night of sleep. Between my fridge making constant noise, the lack of hot water (and an empty conditioner bottle in the shower) and the staff congregating outside of my front door this is a horrible stay (yes, I'm still here as of writing this). Changing rooms won't really solve much. The Pros? I don't know... the bed is fine. read more

This hotel is a dump. First, they were not able to create a key for us, so the person at the front desk had to walk to our room with us to let us in (meaning we were in for the night). Then, the bathroom was dirty, and there was a fly in the room with us. Next, the sofa bed (which we were using) was too close to the TV to open, so we each needed to lift an end and move it. Finally, the Grab & Go breakfast was truly just that -- a brown paper bag with a bottle of water (water for breakfast? Why not?!), banana (!) muffin, granola bar, small cup of yogurt, and apple slices. read more

It's really a 3 star, but the staff are very sweet so I'm bumping them up to a 4. This location is a bit outdated in some respects, and of course it's covid so obviously that affect things like the pool and gym (both closed). They clean once every 5 days, and you have to request that and book a slot. But when I asked for cleaning, I asked how often you can book and they said as much as you want. A bit confusing but no worries. My trip was to see family. We met at the hotel and stayed there for 5 days, which I extended to 10 total evenings. The reason I picked this hotel instead of a regular one is that it comes with a full kitchen. Plates, utensils, pots and pans. Plus a stove microwave and full size refrigerator. Was great for isolating and feeling like being inside a family bubble. Our 2 bedroom was a loft style which means there is a bedroom downstairs woth with and door that shuts, and then the entire upstairs is a loft style bedroom. Just something to be aware of if privacy is a concern. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was great. The studios and 2 bedroom suites also come with an oven. We actually roasted a full turkey in ours! It was a really cool experience. Honestly we just curled up and shared stories, snacked, and watched TV. It wasn't fancy but it was a really relaxing, nice time. And aside from a trip to the supermarket for groceries we just didn't really need to go anywhere. The hotel is a bit shabby over time and apparently a spot for locals to have extremely parties. The checkin papers specify.multile ways that no parties are allowed which made me think that must be an issue. I was right. There were a couple of townie ragers during our stay that started around midnight and went on for hours. Also polite young men in the next unit smoked weed nonstop which is awkward when you're worrying about an elderly parent getting contact high trhiugh the vents. Breakfast is the typical powered eggs yogurt and cereal. Or so I heard from relative. I never made it over to the lobby since we had groceries and a kitchen. I think the taxi ride from hartford Airport was about 30, but I don't remember exactly. There was no free shuttle. Idk if that's because of covid. read more

I don't take these reviews lightly...just a straight-shooter. This place is ghetto, and I mean that in every technical sense of the word. From the staff to the people that were staying here. It made me wonder if we were in government housing. With that as the backdrop for this review, I'll provide a few insights: 1. The actual room was really nice. In fact, there was a wood-burning fireplace which my fiancée and I took full advantage of. Two stars, just for that. #thanksfireplace 2. The breakfast is advertised as a, "full, hot breakfast," but it's a knights inn continental breakfast at best. This experience personally brought the story of, "Green Eggs and Ham," to life for me. 3. DONT stay on the bottom unit, unless you are nocturnal and don't require sleep. The floors are paper-thin, and you can hear every single step from above. Fortunately for us, we were staying underneath Bigfoot. Hi All, This is a followup. Just wanted to add that i have had several occasions more recently, where the dishes were not cleaned well...the rooms were not as clean as one would hope. Thus i am concerned about the cleanliness of the sheets. However still no bed bugs observed. Note - some rooms have flat screen tvs and fireplaces... I noticed that they are slowly modernizing the rooms with up-to-date TVs. I recommend this place IF you are a long term resident/consultant or have a need for a apt-like place. The suites are quite large with a loft bedroom and bath upstairs and a sofa bed in the living room below. In addition, there is a bathroom downstairs and a dining room with a Murphy bed. Also...happy hour every weekday includes an average meal/appetizer and free beer/sodas. So i still give it 4 stars (but it is more like 3.5 now) - MSZ read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 2019 #97 This hotel had the nicest people. I was impressed with the service. As soon as we arrived, they could tell we were from out of town and told us their favorite places to eat. And they even gave a little gift because they're under construction. The gesture was super nice. The room was awesome. Super spacious and great for long term stay or for families. My mom and I stayed at 5 hotels on our stay during our New England road trip and I have the fondest memories of this place. read more

I read some of the reviews about discrimination and I needed to add this so any minority considering staying at this particular property is aware of what I received prior to my arrival, which probably stems from the current Residence Inn I am staying with during my travel assignment I complained about Francis Terenzo the GMs tone he took with me and after 3 months of nothing but aggrevation he agreed to not charge the market rate if I left early, customer service helped me book a new reservation at 11 am and at 18:46 this is what I received I want to add my son called the hotel and asked them if they charge a deposit for a long term stay, Josh at the front desk said no but of course Josh couldn't see the caller while in the back ground I was emailing Katrina Storrs about not seeing anything about a deposit on the website. So please buyer beware CT has not changed. I did find the 500 dollar deposit on Hotels.com; but when the hotel was called and you're booking with them directly the deposit doesn't apply? read more

We stayed here for a long weekend over Thanksgiving. I love me a Residence Inn for longer stays... the full kitchen was great, the bed was super-comfy, and the water pressure was enthusiastic. The check-in process was a snap-- we arrived around 2:00am but since we called ahead our room was happily waiting for us. I was very happy to see a note in our room saying, "Hey, our housekeeping staff would like to enjoy their Thanksgiving, so they'll be refreshing your room on Turkey Day, but they're not gonna do the usual scrub-down. Thanks for being cool." (OK, I paraphrased that, but you get the idea.) I like that they think about their employees' happiness while balancing the needs of their guests, too. My only gripe was that the wifi signal wasn't very strong in our room. This is OK since we didn't spend too much time at the hotel... but if I were traveling on business it would have been a problem. Ok, I normally don't give one start for hotels, but this was a nightmare hotel. First It was very noisy to begin with, and I found out that my upstairs guests were just two nice old couple, But YOU CAN HEAR ALL OF THE NOISE! TV, regular conversation, walking to the bathroom, etc. I'm deep sleeper but I felt like someone was waking on my head all night long! Second, the house keeping - there's none. I woke up, jumpped in the shower, and I realised the wall was covered with long hairs, not one but several. And there were soap from previous guests. Yikes. It was too late to change room, so I just told the front desk and left the place. Sure the front desk was really nice and went extra mile to print out the directions, etc, but the rest of experience made me felt I never want to go back there again. And for all that crappy room I had to pay $160!? Seems Residence inn around the country is failing this past months, time to switch to other brand? read more

Hot, complimentary breakfast. Huge, spacious room. WiFi that really, really worked. Quiet location. This was a good extended stay location.

Pros: - Large, comfortable living space. - Clean. - Quite comfortable bed. - Very nice in-room kitchen, though we didn't use it. - Desk staff is very nice. Cons: - Desk staff is only erratically useful: we had to give up and call the national number both to make and later change our reservation. - Epically loud HVAC, right next to the bed. - We were in the only building not marked as "non-smoking" on the map, and while the desk clerk said "they're all non-smoking," the smell of cigarette smoke in our room, was *almost*, but not entirely, completely covered by the stench of chemical cleaners. - A Saturday night loud drunk house party in one of the units had dozens of local teenagers running around, and went completely unnoticed by the desk clerk for hours, even when they were blocking the access road. Nothing was done until I got home and told the desk clerk, who called the police. read more

The facility was safe and the room was clean but the facility is showing its age what with spots on the carpet, moulding becoming detached from the wall and poor housekeeping outside the rooms. My room was difficult to keep warm. The heater worked but the flue on the fireplace (no logs provided) would not close. This is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. I stay in hotels for work 90% of the year and everyone should avoid this one. First of all, when I checked in asked for a second floor room, they said they would find one the next day and never called me. My room has cob webs in the corner behind the door with spider eggs in it, there were M&M's on the floor by the slider when I moved in and the bathroom well don't even get me started. They did "housekeeping" the next day and all of those were still there. On top of that they did not change my sheets because I had a personal blanket on the bed. I requested housekeeping again told the Manager about what needed to be done and requested shampoo for the room as that was empty when I arrived. Well the bed got made and the kitchen counter was cleaned. The cob webs, M&Ms and no shampoo were all still issues. I went to do laundry and the laundry room was filthy. I had my clothes dry cleaned and went today to get change for laundry and they said they will have some Monday and the laundry room is still filthy. I asked for a blanket last night as they took mine when they did the second housekeeping visit and never replaced it. They did not have any. The bananas in the breakfast bags were rotten 3 days in a row. I can't get out of here fast enough. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! read more

This wasn't the cleanest Residence Inn I've stayed at (hair on my towel, yuck) but the service was at least kind. I was also embarrassed to find that they do your dishes. I didn't intend for them to wash them, but was certainly happy to find that they did. I stayed in building 4 and wireless was non-existant. I had to go sit in the lobby to get any kind of signal and as you can imagine, this was neither comfortable nor condusive to a productive work environment. I went to the "Managers Toast" a couple of times and was actually pretty hapy with the mass produced food they put out. I mean, you probably won't want to make an evening out of it, but it helped break up the monotany of the week while I was staying there. The location was convenient since it was close to the airport, and the highway, but since it was in a residential area I felt safe going for walks in the evening. Staff was mostly helpful, but one particular maintenance guy was a little too anxious to be my friend, which creeped me out. The Windsor Residence Inn served it's purpose but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. The downtown Hartford location cost more, but after taking a curiosity motivated stroll through the lobby, it seemed like you got your moneys worth. read more

Residence Inn is a predictable brand, and what you expect is what you get. The rooms themselves have nice kitchens (dishes/cups are limited), tidy bathrooms with good showers/showerheads and comfortable bedrooms. The beds themselves are easy to sleep on, but in the summer, all of the sheets will get you very hot and uncomfortable, so remove them before you go to bed at night. Breakfast is adequete, and they have a three-day cycle of menus. Day one is eggs, sausage and hash browns (and occasionally croisants), day two is eggs, hash browns and tortillas with salsa and day three is biscuts, gravy and eggs. In addition, things like youghurt, cereal and bread are available daily. The weekday breakfast lady is strange and rude - EXCERCISE EXTREME CAUTION!!! Pool is nice and refreshing (not heated), and hot tub is relaxing, but not that hot. Small coin-operated laundry with washers/dryers. No fitness room, but guests have access to the Gold's Gym nearby. Also, Monday to Thursday, an evening snack is served. Once was enough, except I found they serve free booze at that time. Overall, a standard and simple Marriott Residence Inn. read more

The front desk/check-in was very friendly and efficient. The inside of the room looked picture perfect and smelled just as good. However after looking closely it looked like a quickie clean up job. Had some leftover hair in the bathroom behind the toilet. And built up dirt in the cracks. I had a kitchenette, but their wasn't any dish detergent to wash the plates with. Room looked newly renovated, but once again after closely looking I noticed the toilet tissue holder coming loose from the drywall and several dent marks on the room door. Leading me to think that they painted over the old worn out hotel doors during renovation. I had to change rooms because the central air unit (condenser fan) just outside the patio door was so loud I couldn't sleep. But hotel staff made this an easy transition. Good: fitness room, swimming pool, basketball court, front desk, conveniently located off the highway, quiet, decent continental breakfast, bed is VERY comfy.
