This review is overdue. This location is ideal if you want to stay in the Northshore area away from the hectic Waikiki area. I loved the vibe of Northshore as the scenery was lush and lots of beautiful spots for snorkeling. The hotel does a great job of making the guests feel at home. Had to change rooms because I was put in a room right next to the pool and next to theebttance way to the pool area. First night did not get any sleep due to drunk people partying in the pool area and slamming doors but we were moved to a quiet area of the hotel away. The rest of our stay was more peaceful. Kudos to Zach for his kindness and professianalism. He made our stay enjoyable. Not sure why they charge a parking fee as they have a very wide open parking lot and it is not limited. The area is in akind of rural area of Oahu as North shore is more peaceful and has a laid-back feel compared to Waikiki. The pool is nice. It is also located next to a plaza with many food options. We were looking for a Marriott property on the North Shore, and I was pleasantly surprised by our experience at this hotel. Here's why: - nice pool with hot tub and free cabanas (seriously, free) - super close access (across the street) to a private beach. The hotel offers rentals of chairs, boogie boards, etc. - proximity to food at the Polynesian Cultural Center marketplace (no admission required) and McDonalds. Nice to not have to drive - nightly music in the lobby - lots of tables and seating in the lobby to hang out The room was standard. Loved the water bottle filler in the lobby so I didn't have to feel like a loser going to the gym just for water. Review is 5 stars for a Courtyard, not a 5 star hotel. Don't think we should have to pay $23 for parking in their own lot. read more

Suitable hotel acommodations for Laie, dedicated to the culture and people who live out here. Their swimming pool is nice with cabana, beach chairs and umbrellas to rent. There was even a basketball court to shoot some hoops on the side. Clean, modern suite room that well maintained. We were welcomed to Hawaiian Sun chocolates and heart shaped towels on the bed. You need to park behind the hotel, use the room key to enter the lot. There is a daily parking rate charge. They have a bistro to purchase food, drinks. But prices were high, atypical of Marriot hotels. We had some McDonalds' breakfast which was next door that you could walk over to. But it was raining hard so we drove over there. The fire alarm is very sensitive as the steam from shower caused it to go off after my husband finished showering. Front desk called room phone to alert of it. Believe me, that was definitely a first at any hotel I stayed at. At least we know the fire alarm works lol. We had a great experience staying at this Courtyard by Marriott! Every employee we interacted with was kind and friendly. The room was clean and had plenty of space. We even had a nice view of the ocean! We appreciated the water bottle refill station. There was also a night market with local artisans that happens on Wednesday evenings! My only reason for giving four stars is the gym. It was quite dirty. There was no hand sanitizer, the yoga mats were really gross and old, and there were not enough free weights. The room has potential! Overall, we'd definitely stay here again, but we may just not use the gym lol. read more

We liked this place so much in 2021 that we decided to return in 2024. In 2021, a lot of things were not open because it was still the pandemic or end of it, but now everything is open. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool is gorgeous and has lots of swimming toys and things you can rent so you don't have to bring them. The hotel has a bistro that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Now they offer daily maid service. Self parking is $20 a day. Beds are very soft and comfortable . Overall, this is a very nice hotel. with a great location. Good proximity to the North Shore and less than an hour from Honolulu. read more

We decided to stay here for a weekend staycation just because and we were impressed. Renovations just finished a week before our stay. The staff were so friendly from check in to check out. They even called us to see if everything was okay in our room. Note to self: this is a dry hotel so they do not sell alcohol. The rooms are standard size and everything seemed renovated except the bathroom. It was really clean and I was surprised how much free amenities were provided. There were local brand face masks, makeup remover, a box of chocolate mac nuts, and more.Parking is $20 a night, self park. Easy and accessible to all entrances. The pool area is small but nice. Plenty of seats and shade. There's also a shallow area which was great to bring a baby. Next to the pool, there's a small archery area and a pickle ball court. Great for families with kids! At night there's also live music. Overall it was great weekend stay. Super chill and relaxing. PCC is right next store and the beach is literally across the street. There's not much eateries open late at night so definitely do your research. read more

So we were coming fr Turtle bay and we went to eat at the cultural center near this hotel. We were curious about staying there for our next 2026/ June trip out to Oahu. We stay a month in Hawaii each year and have always had this place on our radar, but normally default to turtle bay. Our family was very impressed w the property- esp for the value. David, the tall man at the front desk- what a gem! He is so nice and welcoming and friendly! A true asset to this corporation. I had a lot of questions and he let us check out the pool area and answered so many of my endless inquiries w patience and a fun sense of humor. Our family really liked him and after we left- we agreed amongst ourselves to switch our (much more expensive) Turtle Bay week to this courtyard Marriott as our north shore (adjacent) choice for next year. The pool area that pleased the kids (they inspected it thoroughly fr their walk around), the proximity to the beach (which David explained the ease of, and we checked out afterward) and mostly, David's personality and knowledge - are the three reasons we now hold a week long reservation here in June, that we are very excited for. SWAG/AMENITIES: -room service -fitness center -local and local inspired art -pool and hot tub -equipment rental ( surfboard and sports and activities ) -breakfast and restaurant STAFF & EXPERIENCE: It may look like a three-star place which is to no fault of the employees there, but they surely make it feel like it could be five stars with a little redecoration. Every need and every want was made first priority and they did all they could do to make sure I stay was the best. Staff was friendly, cool and down to earth. Easy to talk to. We were given local recommendations on places to go around the island and they had lots of on-site activities to do especially ones that can be done when it's rainy and cloudy. I would definitely recommend this place if you plan to check out North shore for a few days it's a quick 30min drive over to Haleiwa or 15-20 to Kualoa. Located right next to Polynesian Cultural Center, this hotel is on the north shore of Oahu, far far away from touristy Waikiki (60-90 minutes by car). The staff is incredibly friendly and every one at the front desk oozes aloha and the spirit of Hawaii. Check in is 4pm, check out 11am. Parking was $15/night in a lot with no security and a broken gate (stuck in the up position). This hotel has mobile key, mobile check out, and responds via chat feature on the Bonvoy app. The 3-story hotel has a pool, small fitness center, pickle ball court, and restaurant "The Bistro". If you have AAA, book with that AAA rate to get breakfast included with your room, the breakfast was pretty good, make sure to ask what's included with the breakfast when you order because we could have gotten the yogurt parfait in addition to the eggs and bacon but we didn't know until too late. The rates are outrageous for a Courtyard all the way out in this rural area-$375-400/night for premium holiday weekend. Since there really isn't much competition up in this area besides Turtle Bay resort ($500/night++), you don't have much of a choice. Beds were super comfy, sofa bed was okay (not terrible), outlets were plentiful, refrigerator in every room, lots of space to walk/eat in the room we stayed in. There's a small "store" for snacks and drinks with a microwave to heat up your food, and also a bunch of toiletries/medications in case your forgot yours. This hotel has everything you could possibly need to stay on the north shore. I'd come back again. read more

This is a beautiful hotel with very kind, friendly, helpful staff. The atmosphere is wonderful. Everything is very clean and inviting. I took a star off for one reason -- poor communication. First, this is a "dry" hotel. So I was not able to enjoy a margarita by the pool. I don't recall seeing any indication during booking that this was a dry hotel. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to have realistic expectations. Honestly I didn't know there even was such a thing as a dry hotel. Secondly, the hotel restaurant menu.... This is the main reason I took off a star. This is not a motel 6. These rooms are not cheap. So I expect the restaurant to be as high quality as the rest of the hotel. While the food is okay, not very flavorful but it gets the job done, the menu online is NOT the same menu offered when you order at the counter. I accessed the menu using the QR code in our room. There were maybe 5 items to choose from. And no accommodations were available (such as asking an item not to have bacon). I went down to pick up the food (because they won't deliver to the room) and saw that there are many other (much better) food options on the menu at the counter. When I asked if I could bring a menu back to my room I was told no. They only have one and I could take a picture. How hard is it to print a menu? How hard is it to have the correct menu online? I have a very picky eater and it would have been 1000% better for us if I had known there were all these other options available. And it would have been cheaper too. No one seemed to care. That was our first day here and I am trying not to eat at this place anymore. Sadly, the only other food nearby is not open until 11am. So, would I stay here again....? I would probably look for somewhere else, but if it was the only option then sure. It is amazingly close the wonderful Polynesian Cultural Center. There are great food options there not to mention fabulous entertainment. read more

Buyer beware!! THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL MARRIOTT PROPERTY. This is a franchised location. This matters as they can treat their guests horribly with zero recourse, and trust me it happens more often than u may think. Don't say I did not warn you in advance. Let me first state that if you are looking for an intimate stay this is not the hotel for you. The front office staff makes it feel as if you are unwelcome right when you arrive to the day you check out. The spa is filled with numerous toddlers some even unaccompanied every evening. The ac units in the room smell of mold and the showers and sinks dont drain. Room service is the bare minimum as there was hair in the room upon arrival. If you dare to complain you will be rudely met with a front desk manager suggesting that you find accommodations elsewhere and a GM who could care less about your feedback. They do not care about their clients and this was by far one of the worst vacation's ever and its not even close!! read more

We love staying here when we come to the north shore to visit our daughter who is going to school here. It's always clean, the staff is friendly, and it's close to the PCC, which is great if you've never been. There are also several restaurants and food trucks nearby. We love that you can rent beach chairs here, and there is a perfect beach just across the street (follow the path, it's not ever crowded). The lobby area is great with lots of seating areas, the pool area is fun, and they also have lawn activities for families. They're in the process of updating the rooms too which is nice. My family and I visited Hawaii last month and decided to stay at this hotel for our entire time on the North Shore. I'm honestly very pleased with our experience! Upon checking in, the concierge- who very hospitable, gave us a complimentary box of Hawaiian Host chocolates at our arrival. I was very surprised and it was a welcoming feeling especially since no other hotel during our vacation had done that for us. We had a nice room with a decent view considering there's only a limited amount of rooms that have any kind of view of the ocean. The room and hotel overall was very clean. The shower had bottles of tea tree shampoo and conditioner which was very surprising because it is an expensive and high quality shampoo that I use back at home. I never pack shampoo/conditioner to save space in my carry on and this small detail made me so happy and feel at home. The hotel also had lots of great amenities (including beach towel service), has beach access if you walk across the street, and is so conveniently located. The location was a huge pro for us especially since we had a luau planned at the Polynesian Cultural Center. We just walked over for the luau or anytime we wanted to eat or visit the marketplace. So if you plan on spending a lot of time at the PCC this is a great hotel to stay at. First I will say that the hotel staff were very friendly and among the nicest I've seen anywhere! Also the hotel is clean, does not charge a resort fee and has a flexible cancellation policy, all pros. Cons: I gave it only 3 stars because the website lists the facility as having a restaurant. It is a small, limited Bistro with a Starbucks. There are very limited places to eat in the town unless you like fast food or food trucks. As someone on a special diet, this proved challenging. Also the entire town of Laie is alcohol free, so if you're wanting to go out and have dinner and a drink you are going to have to drive several miles away to do so. And no alcohol is allowed in the common areas of the hotel. The hotel is located directly next to the Polynesian Cultural Center and near BYU so if you're LDS and have no dietary restrictions this is the perfect place to stay. read more

If you want to go watch a dinner and a show at the Polynesian Cultural Center and don't want to drive home to the west side at night, Courtyard by Marriott on the North Shore is the best place to go. It is right next to the Polynesian Cultural Center. You can practically walk there from the hotel. It's the only place that we found that lets you rent a room for one night. Other places my friend looked into required a minimum stay of 2 nights. Making the reservation was very easy. I called the phone number instead of booking online. The person I talked to was pleasant and friendly. We got there before the 4:00 check in time. David at the front desk was able to take us in right away. He gave a room with an ocean view. After he checked us in, he gifted us a box of macadamia nut chocolates. The room was nice, clean, and spacious. Everywhere the property had a nice view of the ocean or the mountain. It gave a nice peaceful vibe. Very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was always someone around to take our pictures. As for parking, there is a daily charge. There are lots of parking spaces near the perimeter of the hotel. You can actually park your car and take only a few steps toward any entrance to the hotel. My friends and I found this hotel very nice and welcoming even for the short time we stayed. We would definitely comeback. I recommend this place if you want to stay somewhere to relax, and enjoy the views that the north shore has to offer. read more

Pros: *Really friendly & helpful staff *clean and spacious rooms *they were enforcing mask wearing in all indoor public spaces *location. 15 Min drive to Turtle bay, 35 min drive to Matsumoto, 20 min drive to Kualoa ranch. You can walk across the street to a beautiful empty beach. Foodland farms is a 3 minute drive! *Great pool area and they rent out chairs, boards, etc for reasonable rates *restaurant in the lobby is open for breakfast and dinner- great options and Starbucks coffee *Parking $15/night *you can walk over to the Polynesian Cultural center marketplace for great food options. Things to note: *this is a dry town (not the hotel's fault). However, you can drink in your hotel room- just not in public areas. So if you drink, stop by a grocery store during your trip. *Everything in this town is closed on Sunday. I MEAN EVERYTHING! You will have to drive for food! read more

We just got back from 8 nights at the Laie Marriott and could not recommend this place more! It is a stunning hotel, incredible amenities, amazing staff, and beautiful location. Steps away from a gorgeous beach that is practically empty most of the day so it feels like your own private beach. Pool area felt like a resort and there was a ton of additional activities as well as things you could check out so you don't need to bring them from home. My favorite thing was being able to go watch the sunrise each morning on the beach before starting our day. If you are looking for a slower, less crowded place to stay instead of Waikiki, the Laie Marriott is the perfect place! It was our first time staying on the North Shore. Located right next door to the Polynesian Center and many shops and dining choices to walk to. It was not cheap. I had to make reservations as quickly as possible and I was only able to find this Courtyard. I got a good deal since my stay was a little longer. I was really surprised at the size of the property as most Marriott Courtyards I've stayed at are smaller, no-frills and geared more towards business travellers. This one was like a typical Marriott. A large lobby that accomodates morning Hula lessons and local entertainment in the evenings. Really enjoyed our stay here. Dean, Jessica and Sarah at the front desk and poolside were great. Personable and friendly. Very nice staff. The pool area is lovely and parking is reasonable at $15 per day. There is a Starbucks in the dining area serving breakfast, lunch or a light dinner which is convenient. Plenty of space in the lobby and dining area. TVs in the booth seats. I would come back if I'm staying on the North Shore. read more

This has to be the best Courtyard property I have ever visited. As a business traveler with hundreds of hotel nights I visit many Marriott properties and this is, by far, the best. My family and I were in the North Shore on vacation from the main land, first timers, and decided on this hotel based on reviews. Gladly, the reviews were spot on. An eight day stay turned into a perfect experience for the hole family. When we checked in the front desk was extremely warm, friendly and helpful. Walking us through all of the amenities, events, and reward benefits we were immediately surprised at the activities the hotel offered. Activities ranges from ukulele and hula classes to live music and trivia. All at various times through the day and multiple days/ evenings through the week. There was always something to do. There is a large pool, volleyball court, half court basketball and pickle ball court. Many kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel equipment for rent. With a short walk to the beach front this makes for a great day at the ocean. Secondly, the hotel Bistro was one I have never seen. It was more like a full scale restaurant open for both breakfast and dinner, as most are, but also open for lunch. The food was actually very good. A similar menu to most Courtyards but they had cold brew coffee (not very common) as well as the typical burgers and flatbreads but also ribs (very popular) and salads. I was shocked that this hotel does not serve alcohol, of any type. The hotel bistro is not usually my choice for food but I was actually okay if we had to grab a meal here. Location is another major plus. Located right next door to the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) its an easy walk to shows/ events as well as a couple of restaurants and food trucks. I didn't try all of them but some really good options. There are also the food trucks of The Sugar Mill a shirt drive North that will not disappoint. FYI - Parking is $15 per day. read more

The lady at the front desk was so helpful and could obviously see we had a pretty rough time, and she was able to find us a room and got us checked in straight away. Staff were super friendly. The pool and hot tub were amazing And very quiet. The hotel location was great with a short drive to Haliewa one way, and the whole east coast from the hotel. We spent most of the days driving up and down the coast. Definitely the best side of Oahu. The hotel had beach front access which was completely empty with amazing views. We really liked the town the hotel was located. We were able to do free ukulele lessons and hula, as well as plenty of sports equipment to use free of charge. I am so glad we stayed here.
