Booked for this week for a funeral we are attending and found out we would not be needing the room but the hotel says they cannot give credit or refund despite this beyond 72 hours from check in. They opened a ticket and say it will not be resolved until another 3-5 business days, when we are supposed to be in town for this funeral in 3 days, leaving us in a situation that should not be in light of the circumstances. I've stayed at Marriotts before on the west coast that have been great, so this is very disappointing for a Marriott. read more

This is my story from this hotel. Don't trust mailing a package to a hotel.... story time: 3 boxes of books shipped and arrived a WEEK AGO to the Marriott in Worcester. Last night ...no books could be found. Today... no books could be found. I'm trying to handle this while leading a Roadshow in Oxford, Mass. The Curriculum and Instruction Director drove our hotel and found 2 of our books randomly on file cabinet. She brought them back. Magically, in about an hour, the hotel called me having found our books. ... well 2 boxes worth. I requested that they drive the books over to us. They said, we can at 3. To which I said, well, the event is over at 3. She hymned and hawed. And so... I mention: OPENING MY PACKAGES IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE. Audible gasp. She brought the books over shortly there after ... We stopped in here when our Airbnb fell through and thankfully they were able to accommodate us. We had a wedding in town and some of our family members were staying here. The man (I think his name was Kwadwo) at the desk was super helpful, kind, and even placed us near our family! The hotel was clean, had a nice area downstairs with free coffee in the morning, and our room was comfortable. It was perfect for a few nights while in town. We were close to the venue and lots of great places to eat and shop, while also being walking distance to some other places for dinner when we needed it. Overall great experience, and if we're ever back in the area, we would stay here again! read more

This is possibly the worst Courtyard I have ever stayed in. And I have stayed in many, Durham, Charlottesville etc. There was no service to my room, there are no amenities... hand lotion etc. & I am sympathetic to issues regarding staffing... the need to pay a decent wage to workers. But this was exceptionally poor. There is a Hampton Inn in too close a proximity. Corporate greed. read more

I make a point of booking at Marriott hotels whenever I go anywhere, as the quality and expectations are always met. Hard to believe this Courtyard Worcester is a Marriott hotel. Without a doubt the worst Marriott hotel I've ever been to! Really disappointing hotel, especially for a Courtyard. Uncomfortable bed, no hair dryer, elevator and grounds are gross, horrible breakfast options that are pricey for what you get. The TV is mounted off to the side in desk,, so you cannot really see it from the bed. It's on a table that pulls out slightly, but not enough to be able to see TV well unless you are sitting in the sofa bed. Add the poor lady working at the bistro this morning is all by herself and was slammed, very few breakfast choices and no non dairy creamer for coffee. I decided to go back to my room to eat a Cliff bar - good thing I brought one! Don't recommend this hotel at all! read more

I've stayed at this Courtyard a couple of times now. It's centrally located in Worcester and gets the job done for a work trip. What can you expect? - A comfy bed and all the amenities you may need in a clean room. - Friendly staff including those at check in and at the restaurant/bar. - Food options via the Bistro or room service (I got the pasta once and it was a-ok), as well as the Starbucks coffee bar downstairs which has ample breakfast foods. Not for free though. - The gym is super small, as well as the pool. I'm talking one rack of free weights, two treadmills, one bike, and one elliptical. It does have towels though! - The location is decently central in Worcester and there are good restaurants within walking distance. I also believe they have a shuttle that will take you different places you need to go. I'm usually in and out, and this Courtyard serves its purpose for that! read more

Stayed at this hotel because I was working at WPI. It is located right on campus making access to campus very easy. Rooms are large and clean. The pool and gym are small. The reception area is large and contains a Starbucks. I ordered a strawberry salad which was good. read more

The people were sort of pleasant, as for the facilities they were severely lacking. Service was almost non exsistant. The room was surface clean but when we removed the covers, the under sheets were stained. There was coffee stains in the sink and the phone looks like it hasn't been wiped clean in weeks. Bed was comfy tho, good of a quick stay. Wouldn't want to spend another week here tho. read more

If you're in the area stop by and grab a drink with the bartender John. He had me laughing the entire night and I really enjoyed his company during my business trip. This was my second time visiting the area for work and John elevated my Worcester experience. As for the hotel, the lobby is nice, the bed is comfortable, and the water pressure is great in the shower. 10/10 recommend. read more

Parking is horrendous and multiple staff members were incredibly disrespectful to me. The reservation confirmation I received notified me that I would be charged $15 per day for parking. What was not disclosed is that the parking lot is very small, with horizontal parking spaces along the edges of the lot behind the slanted parking spaces in the center of the lot. It's also a one-way parking lot. Finally, the lot is shared with another hotel which is right next door. On my second evening of my stay the parking lot was full. Upon leaving for my daughter's dance competition awards ceremony, I had to reverse my way out of the lot in my Chevy Suburban. Once we returned, there was no parking spaces left at all. I was only then informed that I could come inside and get a key to park in a nearby parking garage. That in and of itself was a fiasco, since there was nowhere to park outside of the hotel either, so I had to wait in a line of cars (again, it's a one-way parking lot), then stop in front of the main entrance (now I'm blocking traffic!) in order to run inside so that the front desk can issue a key to me for the parking garage (a slow process). All of this should have been told during the reservation process. So if you have a large vehicle just know that even though you're paying $15 per day to park specifically at the Courtyard Worcester, your vehicle may be blocked in by other vehicles. There will be no way to contact the owners of any of those vehicles to ask them to move so that you can move your vehicle. Or you may have to park in a nearby parking garage. read more

While the surrounding area can be a little shady, this Courtyard location was just fine for a recent business trip. Everyone who works there is super friendly and will go out of their way to help you. From the front desk to the courtesy shuttle service to the waitresses to the cleaning staff, everyone was very nice. Their room rates are also fair and very low and my room was clean and comfy. Additional feedback: - I had a beetle in my room for two days but as soon as I told the front desk about it, they came and got him while I was at work; - The hotel is on a fairly busy street. I was woken by police sirens on two separate occasions and by a passing train on another (not good when adjusting from West coast time!); - Loved the free cookies and candy; - Not a biggie but they need to moderate their water temp a little better. The water was generally waaay too hot at varying stages of the knob; - There was a water main break in the area and the hotel did a great job of calling everyone, slipping notification letters underneath doors and providing everyone with free bottles of water for a couple of days. All around great customer service and a decent place to stay when in the area for business. read more

Decent Hotel Great Location This a Courtyard so it is not Marriott's top brand. During my visit they were doing construction in the lobby and it looked like it was coming out pretty well. New bar and lounge were almost complete. The best part about most Marriott's is that they always seem to keep a consistent appeal. The rooms are usually pretty currently decorated and usually very clean. This hotel hits all of those marks. The staff was very attentive and friendly as well. I really have no complaints. I would have bumped this another star in the ratings but it's a Courtyard so I feel like it can only max out at a 3. Lastly, if your staying in Worcester, you will not be able to beat the location. We were really disappointed because we thought we could hang out here. Bartender said no one could order after 11pm because bar closes @ midnight?? Seriously? We walked to The Fix about a block away because of the awful service here. The bartender wouldn't give us water because she was locking up the very small amount of liquor there. Facility has been cosmetically updated to the most recent Courtyard "platform", but the rough/worn edges are still fairly evident here (along w/ the single elevator, closed swimming pool/facility etc.). Shredded carpet edges, scuffed wall kick-plates and a few odors of indeterminate origin... this facility is struggling to meet expectations of one of the stronger "brands" of the Marriott constellation. Stayed here this past weekend as part of a wedding block. Rooms were roomy and clean, plus they honored our request to be next to some of the other members in the wedding party. We didn't eat at the cafe/bistro, but I heard that the food was tasty! Also, we had a welcome reception at the bar downstairs which was great! Courtyard Worcester is A-OK. Clean, nice, new place. Friendly staff is eager to please. Comfortable beds. Power outlets by the headboard. Everything was great. I would happily stay here again. Two minor things: 1. The sink is in the same room as the beds, so you can't close the door and brush your teeth or shave or get ready without waking up anybody in bed. 2. No free breakfast. It's a normal Courtyard set up where there is a cafe in the lobby where you can purchase food, and the food is good - probably better than the "free" food at a lot of continental breakfast places, but you have to order it, pay for it, and wait for it. I liked the Courtyard Worcester and would absolutely stay there again if I went back to Worcester. read more

If I Could give them 6 stars I would. This was our first time in Massachusetts and I cannot praise this hotel staff enough. We got snowed in for a couple days and the hotel staff was extremely accommodating. Even opening up the downstairs bistro during lunch hours to keep us fed through the storm. This staff is a team that deserve to be recognized by their positive attitude, hard work, and ability to overcome so much adversity. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, bartenders were excellent (take bartender recommendations you'll thank me later). I was here for four full days and honestly have nothing negative to say. This review is based on my stay on May 21, 2013. I was not sure what to expect of Worcester, a once-big mill town west of Boston, but found the city in good shape and this Courtyard a great example of Worcester's best. This is a "standard" Courtyard, not a converted older building, and is kept in nearly-new condition. It's right next to Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Life Sciences Building - if you are doing something at WPI, you can't be much closer. Staff here was both easy-going friendly and intent on making sure I had everything I wanted and needed. My room and furnishings were all as they should be, very comfortable. Parking (free) was very close to the entrance (nice as it was a rainy time there). The new-style lobby, with a happy bar area and some enthusiastic customers, looked pleasant, but I needed bigger food and headed out. Wi-fi internet and big flat panel TV worked perfectly. At a well-run, well-kept, and well-staffed Courtyard like this one, I wouldn't say there are no surprises - but any surprises are pleasant ones. I hope I never give a Courtyard less than 4 stars, and I did not give 5 simply because there are some services they do not offer. Price was fair, if not a super-bargain. Courtyard worked well for my first night in the Eastern time zone this trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and would definitely stay here again next time. If this is your price range, you need have no fears - you will be comfortable here. read more

O.K. stay Spent a night there a couple weeks ago. Not in the best location. Kinda trashy surroundings. Clean rooms but appliances were not exactly up to date. Hair dryer smelled like burnt hair when used it. Nice room in bathroom, but lighting was dim and not exactly welcoming. Air conditioning kept the room at a comfortable rate, but slept terrible in the beds. Pillows were awful too. Served its purpose, but not sure it was the best choice for the area, altho I know there are much worse hotels in town. read more

We had a very nice stay at the Worcester Marriott. We were in town to see a show, didn't want the responsibility of driving back to Boston, so we found a good price through Expedia and booked here, splitting the cost of the room four ways. There were several other show-goers also staying at the hotel this weekend-- and the staff was completely unfazed and prepared. They even had a shuttle leaving every 30 min to give complimentary rides to the arena, eliminating our need for a cab. Nice! When we came back at 1am covered in glow paint, the front desk didn't even bat an eye. In fact, they offered us extra toiletries to bring back up to our room to help get us clean. Perhaps not the place for a romantic weekend getaway (not because of the hotel which was pretty clean and well-managed, but because of the city itself), but for a utilitarian place to crash? The Courtyard is "ok" - rooms were clean, staff friendly and overall my stay was fine. The neighborhood is a little sketchy and I was glad that I had a travelling companion this trip so that I was not out in the parking lot alone after dinner. The morning breakfast buffet is pricey at $10.50 - we'd picked the Courtyard over the Hampton Inn as it was $10 cheaper but by the time we paid for breakfast, we would have broken even. Recently stayed one night. Not at the expected Courtyard standard. On the plus side. The bed and pillows were quite nice for a comfortable night. The breakfast was delicious, especially the fluffy scrambled eggs. There was good parking availability and the lot felt safe. On the other hand, the electronic key did not work and was problematic. There was no way to buffer the road noise and trucks going over metal plates covering holes during construction. The noise was quite loud and continued all night. The closet high low design made poor use of space causing the need to cramp business clothes preventing wrinkles from shaking out. The clerks were polite and tried their best, but it seems that they needed an experienced manager. This manager did not seem to be ever present during my stay. I will stay elsewhere on future Worcester visits. read more

For $120 a night, I would expect a nicer staff and at least one that has their sh*t together. I realize it's Worcester, so maybe standards are a bit lower...but I got there around 2 PM on a Saturday before a wedding being held nearby. There was only one person at the front desk with a line of 3 or 4 people in front of me waiting to get their room keys. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying - knowing you have a full / booked hotel on a saturday, you should accommodate that, staff-wise. Eventually we got our room, only to find the door propped open with a vacuum and the room in the process of being cleaned. The maid was nowhere to be found. I decide to call the front desk, and it rings and rings with no one answering! The surly maid comes back and demands to know what we're doing - look lady, we just got handed a key to this room, don't take it out on us. Luckily my friend was staying down the hall, so we retreated there to call the front desk 3 more times before they answered and switched our rooms. Not a huge deal, but it's extremely frustrating when people do not do their jobs, or can't get organized, and then are rude to you about it. also, brett had no towels in his room. come ON. It also seemed like the cleaning cart was constantly in the hallway, and blocking doors of rooms that weren't even being cleaned. common sense was not these employees strong point. The location is convenient, but like almost every other Marriott and chain hotel out there, everything from the service to the decor is uninspired, generic, and boring. read more

Please let me begin by saying I am a Platinum elite Marriot member. I usually spend about 10 - 15 nights per month in a Marriot. It is my second home. I have been staying at this specific Marriot Courtyard for close to 20 years, probably 2 - 3 nights per quarter. I did notice a drop off in general quality since they built a Hampton Inn right next door. Parking has become a general nightmare since the addition of the Hampton Inn. I go to check in today 1/31/2018, and informed there is now a parking fee? Really? For Worcester?? $9.00. I made this reservation last week, and was not informed of the parking fee. I made that know at check in, and how deeply disappointed I was by not being informed ahead of time, when the reservation was made, however, no action was taken. In my opinion, this is very deceptive and misleading. Well, there are a now a substantial amount of both Marriot's & Hampton's in this general area, and this is the last time I will stay at this specific location. read more

I booked a room for a Saturday 10/15 and when I arrived and got up to the room, there were no towels in the bathroom or hung up. Then I pulled the top blanket off the bed, it was stained with something yellow and at that point I wanted to leave. I called down to address this towel and blanket issue and they brought new ones up but I was still grossed out. Then my cousin got the spare sheets out of the closet for the pull out bed, un-did the sheets that were in a ball , and candy wrappers and an empty Gatorade bottle fell out. I was pissed. So I called down again, they brought up sheets blah blah. The front desk was really nice but didn't offer anything to help the situation. I went directly to corporate thinking that was the fastest way to get my money back ($220, such a joke) and have been back and fourth with them every other day since 10/16. They said someone will be calling me, no one has, so I call them and they just keep saying someone will be calling me. I have no clue why this is a 4 star hotel. Check the sheets whenever you stay anywhere people. Gross. But again, front desk was very apologetic and maybe I should have gone to them and asked for my money back but I thought corporate would be the way to go. Oh well. I stayed here for one night after a wedding and found nothing to complain about. I don't know Worcester that well, but this seemed like it had pretty good access to downtown areas. I liked being able to walk over to the Fix (which I would love to write a review of except I didn't actually try the burgers there). The room we stayed in was as nice as I could reasonably expect and the amenities seemed decent enough. It usually takes me at least two nights to find the real flaws in a hotel, so take this review with a grain of salt, but I would stay here again. read more

Courtyard Marriott is quickly becoming my hotel of choice for weekend getaways. This is the second time I've stayed at one in recent history and I've been more than pleased both times. It's inexpensive and clean, and like I said in my review for the Norwich, CT location, if you're not looking for amenities and are just looking for a place to lay your head at the end of the night, this is a great affordable option. Check in was smooth, and even though the front desk clerk seemd a little overwhelmed, she was able to handle our check in, the phone calls coming in, and looking up directions for some other hotel guests simultaneously. Me, I may have gotten snippy with someone in that situation, but she remained courteous and professional throughout. We were given a fourth floor room, which I believe is the top floor. Not much of a view, I'm afraid. This place isn't exactly in the most scenic part of downtown Worcester (our view faced a giant parking lot across the street), but it is within walking distance to a couple restaurants and a quick drive to most anything in Worcester you may be visiting for. In going to explore the hotel, we ran into two other friends staying here for the night. The desk clerk gladly accomodated our request to have adjoining rooms, which came in handy at the end of the night for post-wedding partying. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to crash in Worcester for a night. read more

Where to begin? $9 to park (not advertised on site), cold shower, barely any water pressure, mattress protector must not have fit properly because it kept popping off the mattress all night, pool CLOSED in July (again not advertised but listed as an amenity), one elevator down due to renovation. None of this reflected in the rate. Needless to say, a very disappointing Marriott stay and we're frequent travelers. read more
