First time trying Dave's - how haveI not known about their phenomenal food?! I got the slider, added cheese, with fries - holy cow, that chicken was good! The chicken was beautifully moist, pipping hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned. The fries were ultra crispy. The pickles and slaw added a nice touch of freshness and acidity to balance the meal. My only complaint is that I wish I had more space in my stomach, the portions were so generous! Service was top notch (shoutout to Laura, the real MVP) and speedy. I gave the food 4 out of 5 stars--not because it wasn't good, but just based on personal preference. I ordered the "hot" level, and while it had great flavor and plenty of heat, I personally prefer a saucier, wet-style hot chicken over the powdered seasoning. Love Dave's chicken! I opted for Dave's #1 combo which included two tenders and fries ($11.99). It's cool that you can choose plain (no spice) all the way up to a truly HOT level of spice. Even your fries can be made spicy if you choose them to be. I went plain chicken, plain fries. They were very delicious! The white meat tenders were literally SO Tender and delicious!! My plain fries were coated with a light sprinkle of seasoning, but they were not spicy at all. The Dave's Hot Chicken sauce included in my combo was awesome with the tenders. As others have said, it is a bit pricier than you'd expect of a fast food type place. That said, it is pretty good. I got two tenders and fries. The bread is nothing special, just standard white bread. The tenders are generously sized and they were very nice and crispy after taking them home. I got the "hot" spice level which I'd say is fairly accurate. They don't use the Midwest spice scale. It's the kind of spiciness where you'd prefer to savor a bit instead of wolfing it down. Handicap parking is available and no drive through service. You enter the restaurant and place your order. Various options for chicken and sauces. Cash, and credit card. They take on line orders as well. Based on my first and last visit, most people placed on line orders. Requested no pickles and yes I had pickles. They must cook to order, chicken fingers were hot, fries were not hot. Apparently, you can download the apps for a free soft drink. I tried, and didn't get it. Yes, the manager was called. No free drink. If you want to have a conversation with others, best to have it earlier or after you depart the restaurant. For first time in ages I have experienced a pretty claimed hot sauce that is indeed about as hot as advertised. I chose the second from the top, since I'm more about the flavor profile than anything he ability to maim. The top hot sauces at most of the places is indeed at a level that's more about being lava than anything else. A few weeks ago I had wings at Wing Stop and the second hottest was pale. Mostly an overly sweet burn. My blood sugar levels were doubled to nearly 200 the following day, which truly made my decision to not eat there any time soon. Dave's boneless chicken was not what I'd wanted upon entry. Everything is a chicken tender. The hat was nearly enough to make me exit and return n to Mod Pizza, but I've have their pizzas enough to know they are generally good but no longer an excellent fast reasonably priced option. So I ordered the number one on the menu, and was rather irritated to find that when I chose the NO TIP option, twice, it somehow failed. But when I finally concede to tipping, it miraculously accepted. I'm absolutely opposed to tipping in this type of establishment. The cashier doesn't do ANYTHING. They didn't even bring my food to me, I had to go get it. As expected. While I rather enjoyed my first visit to this place, I doubt I'll ever return. The fries weren't as fresh as I'd like, and the second of two chicken tenders was crisp but well into the realm of dryness Clearly indicating overcooked breast meat. In any breast meat situation, there is either moist and tender or it's dried out. Cloaked inside the flavorful adornments of spicy or sweet and the crispy exterior distracts from that error. My ultimate reason for not wanting to return is not a occurrence of a single dry piece of chicken. Nor is it the seemingly forced tip. I think it's because a chocked without bones brings to mind a petri dish's ability to be a birthing ground for cloned meat production. I think that sums up how I feel this afternoon. read more

Put quickly, this place is just overpriced and not quite on the ball. I got pickup, so I can't comment on the fairly plain location, but my order was right and I checked out quickly. The chicken tenders are large, but not huge, and for $12, I'd hope to get more than two and fries. But none of that can really solve the biggest problem - these are just not hitting the hot chicken bar for me. I lived in Nashville for the last four years before moving back. Hot chicken, to me, doesn't have hot spice coating nearly so powdery - these are like eating a Dorito at a certain point. It's either a proper wet sauce or it's a light spice rub. The breading is flakier and more beautifully fried, with a little grease to soften any spice rub you're using. That's what the classic bread served under the chicken is for - it collects some of the oil along with the spice rub, and ends up a salty, buttery treat for after your meal. My bread after I finished was completely dry. This is an okay chicken tender - I'd probably skip the spice rub next time entirely. It isn't fried the way the best tenders are fried, but I've definitely had worse. But for the price, I feel like you should be getting the best of what you order. A shame, to be honest, I was hoping to have a new haunt. Also - classic sides are missing. No hush puppies, no jalepeño poppers, no corn bread. No chess pie for dessert. We went on 8/31/23 and purchased two 2-tenders dinners (no spice) and one 2-tenders dinner with the "hot spice". Dinners came with 2 pieces of white bread (Not toasted, not buttered. just. bread), french fries and a small beverage. Came to $44.25. The price seemed steep before we ate, and seemed worse after we "ate". We didn't eat much. The fries were ok. Not great, but fine. The 2 "no spice" tenders were definitely that; no spice. Not even salt. Basically just floured chicken pieces. Not good. Bland chicken with flour fried to it. The "hot" chicken tenders were (oddly) both dry and also tasteless. Again, can someone find the salt, please. The spice they put on it was not a "rub" nor was it a sauce. The only way I can explain it is to tell you to stick your tongue directly into a jar of dry, ground chipotle spice. That was the consistency of the coating. It was "hot", but powdery dry and completely tasteless. So powdery. So tasteless. Where is the SALT? Seriously . Based on the price, I can't imagine giving it another go. Sit down to wait and wait about five minutes and start seeing people that ordered after me all getting their food. It wasn't real busy and the girl who took my order can see me sitting there waiting so you would think she would of realized I hadn't got my food.
