We ordered samples from other locations and different brands because we knew we couldn't trust the 2x3 sample (with several different variations of planks). We finally found the flooring at FDC, and luckily it came with the best customer service. Charles was knowledgeable, respectful, polite, and responsive. He even spent the time with me to discuss prior subfloor issues and educating me on the best way to install our flooring system. Wish we would've found him and the flooring earlier (would have saved some money and grief). Our experience with Polina was excellent, she was friendly, kind, and very helpful in guiding us through our tile selection. Where things fell short was communication and delivery...especially disappointing as this was our first time shopping here. When we placed our order, we specifically asked if the product was in stock and were told that it was. After we paid and left, we received a call saying the product was actually not in stock and would take about a week. Frustrating, but what made it worse was the response we got when we followed up. We spoke with Glenn and explained that had we known, we might have gone elsewhere. His response was essentially that we were free to do so. Having worked in customer service for over 10 years, I found that surprising and disappointing...there was no effort to retain our business or make things right. We decided to continue with the order since we had already paid. Fast forward about two weeks, and we hadn't received any updates. I called to check in and was told the shipment was still in transit and might arrive by the end of the day. I asked to speak with a manager, and Glenn called me back. To his credit, he acknowledged the earlier interaction and apologized for the delay, but there was still a lack of proactive communication or effort to improve the experience...especially considering we had already, made multiple trips for payment and a partial pickup. Ironically, I received a call just before closing that the rest of the shipment had arrived and would be ready for pickup the next day...but only after I had reached out first. I would still recommend this place for the showroom, selection, and the help we received from Polina. Just be aware that the follow-through and communication may not match that initial experience.

So, we decided to visit "tile/stone row" on S. State College Blvd., in Anaheim. Should definitely have done this from the getgo but we didn't want to deal with the traffic on the way over there. Well, we went early on a Saturday morning and voilá, we found our tile in a few tile stores. Prices were different at each store. But the widest selection and definitely the best prices were found at this store. Sam Vasquez was absolutely awesome. He is knowledgeable and gave us the best pricing. We will be returning for kitchen and laundry room tile very soon. Oh, AND, they have a great selection of wood flooring too. One of the reasons for selecting JG Tile was Joel's expertise in plumbing, which he demonstrated when working with the powder room fixtures and gas oven. Joel offered some excellent advice, such as taking the opportunity to replace the out-dated fixtures with new ones, rather than re-installing the old ones. I took his advice and ordered a new toilet and vanity/sink which Joel picked up and installed without any up-charge.
