Took forever to finally get a quote. The owner stated that it was due to family issues. Took me overseeing the work to get any resemblance of the quality the price should have reflected. Saw workers cutting through underlayment because they were using it as a cutting board for roofing tiles. Had to force them to fix that stupidity. Took forever to finally get the owner to give us the warranty paperwork. They're a typical scam contractor. I would never use them again. read more

hey came out when they said they would, gave me a quote and a second quote per my request. Were very flexible on setting a time to start on the work. My request was to replace my aging and decaying ridge cap shingles on my roof. The rest of the roof was in fairly good condition, Their bid included to replace the ridge cap shingles and reseal the pipes, vents and flashing. The quote appeared reasonable. It wasn't cheap, nor did it seem outrageously expensive, but if you want cheap I hear mickey mouse needs work due to covid closing Disneyland, so there is that. When it comes to repairs that really matters It pays to go with a licensed contractor and not a handy man. I have to say I really underestimated the level of quality and care to the work that was going to be done. The shingle replacement went as expected, but the rest of the care was amazing. I really expected a can of Henry fix all to be gooped around all the piping and that would be that. Boy was I pleasantly wrong, all the pipes were sealed with beading that looked professional and the piping and vents given a coating of some sort to match the roof and I assume adds corrosion protection, previously the were a surface rusted orange look and the vents were unfinished bright steel colored. I told them to pay particular attention to the chimney flashing, well once again shocked and amazed in all the right ways. The flashing was enhanced and the sealant again wasn't some black or white goop job, a professional beading of sealant that actually matched the color of the brick. Our roof was inspected and repaired 3 years ago.This time with curiosity I let a person with some other reason to take the photos of roof found a few cracked portion of tiles and also loosed tiles. I hired again Blue Shoe Roof Service and with nominal fee,they sent Antonio team. They checked and replaced and tightened and corked our entire roof to take about 2 hours to finished job. They cleaned out gutters filled with dead leaves. In future if I need roof service again,without any doubt I'll use them again. read more

This review is for services NOT done. I contacted Blue Shoe Roofing after getting an estimate from another company regarding a suspected leak. The bid I received from the other company seemed high and was based on just a preliminary look, so I wanted a second opinion. The first company couldn't tell me for sure if they saw evidence of a leak and provided an estimate based on what they thought they would find if they started ripping up that area and what work would be required. Blue Shoe responded very quickly to my message, booked someone to come out, and emailed me a confirmation right away. The lady I spoke with on the phone was so friendly, helpful and quick even though it was almost Christmas. Fast forward to today. Two guys came out to do the inspection right as scheduled. After seeing the spot in the room we thought might have a leak, they took a photo and went up to inspect the roof. I heard them moving the tiles around, which the first company did not do, and waited about ten minutes for them to come back down. The Blue Shoe guys told me right upfront that they had inspected the area, and areas to both sides, and could find nothing wrong. They said they would be happy to give me an estimate, but in their opinion, there was nothing showing that the roof was the cause of the small bump in the wall. He explained to me what he thought was actually the issue and said they could still inspect it more if I felt it necessary, but they did not want to essentially scam me when their experience showed that the roof was not the issue. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of their refreshing honesty. I don't know jack about roofing, and I'm unable to actually get up on the 2nd story roof because I don't own a ladder big enough, so they could've strung me along with any old explanation and I would've had to take their word for it. But they explained exactly what they had done, moving the tiles and looking in the area and saved me thousands of dollars had I gone off of the word of one person. I highly recommend calling them if you have an issue that needs looking at because now I know for certain they are professional and genuine and will not put you through unnecessary runarounds just to get a dollar...or thousands. I DO need some minor repairs done on some sealed areas and broken tiles fixed and I WILL be using them for that in the future. The lady who answered the phone took my name, address, phone etc. and said they would get information on the internet about my house, compose a quote and get back to me. That was about a month ago and have not heard from them at all. Needless to say I got quotes from 3 other companies and signed with one. During out visit for the estimate, my concerns for unsightly venting was addressed. Turns out that a vent exists in the shape of the existing roof tiles. Once installed and painted the color of the roof, they blend great. Pictures were taken before and after the work. Our roof was built in 1991 so replacement of broken tiles and mortor joints was also done. The work was performed on time and to our satisfaction. 3 years ago I purchased my first home. Upon completion of my inspection it was highly recommended to replace the roof. I hired the "cheap guy". Not for the price but the end result apparently. After 7 leaks and a total remodel due to a bad install I had to start over. I hired Blue Shoe to replace the roof on my father's home in Huntington Beach. It was a big job, involving not just a re-roof but replacing over 3/4 of the fascia. I was coordinating it from out of town and Jared sent photos of the work in various stages over the course of the 6 days. This is my second dealing with Blue Shoe Roofing. I have a 50 + year old house with a concrete tile roof that, as everyone knows, needs attention here and there. They first came out in 2005 and had remembered their prompt and professional service for a relatively minor job, however after last winter's increased rainfall there were two problem areas noted, one involving a leak into my garage and another involving leak through the chimney into my fireplace. They came by and surveyed the job and after a little back-and-forth we agreed upon a very reasonable estimate. They were able to schedule the job in under 3 weeks and the crew was very professional and thorough, explaining everything along the way and providing before and after photos. Our seller needed to fix a few shifted and broken roof tiles from buyer's home inspection. It needed to be done this week so we could close escrow. We called Blue Shoe for an estimate. They asked for $185 inspection fee. We then found out estimate was supposed to be free. It's painted on their truck! We thought it was a misunderstanding, so we told them we didn't need an inspection. (The house was already inspected by home inspector.)
