We had our pool built by Premier Pools in Vacaville, CA and they recommended these folks for our pool cover. We spent about $25k on it and it's had to be repaired 3 times in the year and a half we've owned it. Every time it's repaired we have to argue with the owner about them covering it. Terrible workmanship, wish we had used anybody else. read more

These guys have installed three different covers during the life of our pool and each time they do a bang up job with little-to-no problems. They respond quickly to phone calls, which I really appreciate and they're helpful in figuring out problems as well. Even during Covid they were quick to get back in touch. We recently went through a pool remodel and they were in touch with the pool contractors the entire time, ensuring the cover was ready to be put back on as soon as the pool was replaced. I've never experienced any kind of negativity or rudeness from them and indeed have come to appreciate their patience as I know they have a lot of demands on their time. read more

I have been very disappointed in Coverstar. After there were design issues leading to some tearing, my dealer suggested I call Coverstar directly. I have left multiple messages and have not gotten one reply after three weeks of trying to simply talk to someone. At first they where ok and I told my friends about them and 4 of them signed up with Coverstar. After the next pool cover, we had questions about the fitting. We where given a hard time how the next cover was installed. I compared it to my friends new one, which was nice and straight. Our cover had so many folds in it, just did not look right. Also the last tech. that was out here did a terribly job, but Coverstar sent these other 2 techs. to fix it. We where told the job was really bad by the techs. Then this Mike guy got involuted , which I believe was the manager, he was and is extremely rude and arrogant individual. Does not take feedback well and starts getting very, very defensive. I was so off guard with what he was saying to me. One thing he said "no one likes working with my family and that they freak out when I call in because No one wants to help me. I did not know this. All the workers that came out we took care of them with water and anything else they would like. Mike concluded that he should not be in this position at Coverstar. He is right. How the owner gets keeps this person is just stupide. Great customer service is everything. He was so insulting to me and he gets away with it. I have never treated anyone this way. Mike always blames the customer. In a round about way he suggested that we go away . It is amazing how the owner lets him get away with it. Their prices are higher and the service they give is not worth it. My advice stay away from this place and Mike the drama queen. read more

Our pool installer chose the pool cover company, so we had no exposure to them prior to installation. A little over a year after installation, a small tear developed in the cover. Mike and his service team determined the cause of the tear, and stood behind their work and cover warranty 100%. We now have a replacement cover installed and we are super pleased with the warranty communication and experience. read more

If I could them 0 stars I would. They are by far the worst company that I have ever had to deal with. Their installation was very poor to begin with and just after a few years they want to charge us almost $1000 to replace the rope the broke. They were very rude and tried to say it was our fault the rope broke when all we do is open and close it like we are suppose to. Stay away from them or you will regret it later. They made a cover too wide so it had creases that developed leaks. When I made an appointment to have a technician come he did not show up in the pre-agreed four hour time slot. At the end of the day after I waited they called and rescheduled for next day. I was very clear that there was one particular time slot when I could not be there and they agreed. Next day the technician called and said that he would come exactly at the time when I could not come. It went downhill from there. Their dispatcher Chris told me that they cannot control their time and if I wanted the technician to wait they would charge me for the wait time. Otherwise he said "it's you problem, call someone else". I asked for the manager to call me and Mike who is mentioned as a "drama queen" called me with a lecture that I was not treating his employees right and said they would not do business with me. The reviews saying they are rude are very true. Worse service ever. Also, when installing, they cost lots of extra $$ because they didn't provide our electrician with the right parts. We had numerous extra service trips because of this. If you use anybody else, you'll be ahead because they are not worth the aggravation. They came out to fix the ropes that were broken on my existing cover. They were a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Team was on time, super knowledgeable, very respectful, worked hard, and didn't try to oversell me on a new cover. I will need a new one in the not too distance future but they suggested I try to get a bit more life out of the one I have. I will definitely use them when I do need a new one! read more

We had a manual cover and I was looking for a replacement, something automatic. I called a couple of cover folks from yelp and they wanted me to move this, break that, tear up this and throw out that. Finally my pool pH balancer said that most of them are idiots, just call Coverstar and Monte will take care of everything. I called Monte and I did not have to make much changes to my backyard, very slight modification and he recommended someone who could do it so I did not have to explain what needs to get done. Everything was done fast and great!! Now we have an automatic pool cover!! Super happy with Coverstar!! They are the best. read more

This is the absolute worst company that I have ever done business with in my entire life. We paid $8,500 for a pool cover yet can't seem to get it installed 4 months after having ordered the cover. I have never seen anything like it. They charge a $450 Inspection fee that is supposed to ensure they know exactly what is needed....yet they have been here twice and still can't seem to figure out how to install a pool cover. I would not use Coverstar I received better customer from aquatech and other pool cover companies are more professional. When I recently contacted Coverstar to complete a repair on my new pool cover(I have only had the pool cover for 8 months) and since it's a safety pool cover which is required for insurance and by law I would have thought that Coverstar would have come quickly to complete the repair, instead the secretary Mike was extremely rude and impatient and refused to schedule something timely for the repair. I ended up using Aquatech for the repair and that was a whole different experience, they were professional and amazing and great reviews on yelp. I have used Coverstar in the past when the owner was running the business but since the management has changed it has gone down hill. Mike also said he will void the warranty on the cover since someone else completed the repair, Mike said because I was not loyal he would void my warranty. read more

Service is terrible!!!! We have had to replace tracks and ropes twice in 5 years also had to replace cover when tracks broke due to a tear. Trying to get service has been a nightmare. Can't get a return call when I finally did we are still waiting for service. Our cover has not worked since August 16 it is sept 7 and still waiting for service. It's not due to COVID, we have had this issue with customer service for years. Would not recommend this company please look elsewhere for a pool cover. read more

My cover star pool cover was catching on something as it opened for about 3 days. It finally could not be opened or closed without it going sideways. The Cover Star technician, whose name I'm sorry I forgot, came out the next day. One of the ropes was broken and he felt it may have been from rodents chewing on it. I signed a $187 estimate for labor only for the replacement . After further inspection, he found a knot in the rope and said it was not my fault and may have been due to how this cover was installed a year ago. (this is my second cover). He repaired the problem at no charge. Not many companies will admit the damage was not the customers fault so I am impressed this happened. I would recommend this company to everyone. If I were writing a book on how NOT to do customer service these people would be my best example. Called on Sunday because my pool cover had broken and was stuck open and I was afraid that my 2 year old would drown. Their message machine said they were booking 3 weeks in advance so I left a message and looked for someone else. Contacted Pacific Pool covers and the owner answered the phone and told me she would be out first thing the next morning. She came and spent 5 hours doing an absolutely fantastic job. Mike the owner of Coverstar called me in the afternoon the next day and when I told him I had used another vendor he told me that they were "whores" and that i was an "Unloyal Customer". He was so insulting that I became furious. I heard today that he called the other company and bitched them out as well. We live in Sonoma, and were recently impacted by the fire. Cover Star came up to make repairs and though they were minor, they did it promptly and, to our surprise, at no charge. We have been using Cover Star for more than a decade and always found them to be excellent service providers, but here they clearly went the extra mile and have earned our business for as long as we have a pool. read more

Our coverstar pool cover is not even two years old, when it broke a while back I called up the company to have it repaired. They made me wait 2 weeks with a pool cover stuck open (with a 4 year old and 2 year old at home) only to have a totally inept guy out to tell me that he didn't have what he needed to fix the cover!! When I called to reschedule they booked me for three weeks later! On top of that the guy on the phone was extremely rude and told me there was nothing he could do. So they came out and fixed the pulley system the next week. Apparently there was a manufactures defect which caused it to stop functioning. I appreciate that Monte came out and squeezed us in to get the cover fixed in a much shorter time frame than what was anticipated. The cover works great now and no problems! read more

Be very careful!!!! They just rejected my warranty claim after the material on the pool cover caused the cover to tear. They claimed at first it was animals. Then I sent pictures showing a clean tear....now they are claiming neglect. It wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer dodges legitimate warranty claims in order to save on cost. I have escalated to their executives...hopefully they will resolve it. read more

When choosing an automatic pool cover company do your homework with the pool builder. It's a big extra investment so be sure your builder doesn't just try to sell you a pricier outfit like Coverstar pool covers. Their product, materials, and especially their service is NOT worth the higher price over competitors. They have inexperienced teenagers giving estimates that just want to over charge you. They are a hostile company putting your satisfaction at the bottom of their agenda. Terrible company, good luck finding someone to answer your call! And when they finally call you back they just want to argue with you.... so rude. I will be removing their inferior product (which began deteriorating and leaking after only 3 years bc they use cheap parts which corrode quickly) and be replacing my cover with a different company. I had my coverstar pool cover installed about a month ago. I had a great experience dealing with Monte. He was helpful in the process of picking out what was best for my pool without being pushy. He was prompt whenever he had to come out to my house and in returning my phone calls, which was a nice thing given that other cover companies I contacted did not even call me back!! Installation went very smoothly, Monte was onsite for part of the time, and the crew was polite and neat. They also went above and beyond and fixed an electrical outlet that I needed to have fixed! They also walked me through how the cover worked and answered my questions. The company was also great when I needed to have the cover adjusted after a couple of days, they came out with 24 hrs of my phone call to adjust the cover. Recently, I replaced my old manual pool blanket with an automatic pool cover by Coverstar, after doing some research and getting a few bids. I finally decided on Coverstar as they have one of the best product and the price was very competitive. I particularly liked the rail design and the drive mechanism is well built and robust. Their drive motor is submersible which is a good safety feature. Monte was professional, attentive and very pleasant to work with. He provided ideas and solutions the other vendors/dealers could not, as I have tight space constraints around the pool. The pool cover installation was timely and the crew was efficient and professional. They laid out the rails accurately, exactly the way I wanted. I am very leased with the product as it looked as if the pool cover was installed when the pool was built. The pool cover is working fine and I highly recommend the Coverstar product. read more

Monte at Coverstar came through in delivering a product that provides the saftey and energy efficiency that my family was looking for in a pool cover. He did a great job explaining the details of the installation. Everything got installed and running on time, but some of the anchor points to the old weather brick and mortar came loose. I have a coverstar cover now and have had other systems from other co.and coverstars is the best I have had.when I needed service I found mike to be very knowledgeable. They had a summer time back log but they showed up and did the work like they said they would. This was not the case with the other two cover co. I have had in the past .
