Checked this place out after the Vikes game and was pleasantly surprised! Yelp had it at 3 stars, but the service and food was pretty good and atmosphere was gr8. We got 2 apps( Country Nachos and Cheese curds) Nachos were awesome with both the chicken and taco meat. Curds were average at best. Split the large all meat pizza with my son. Best happy hour anywhere. Fantastic prices, tasty half priced apps, large patio area, tons of booths, and of course, a mechanical bull. The happy hour apps are actually a great value. We usually get the jalapeño cheese curds, but I've also had the mini sloppy joes and the tater tot dish which are super filling. Their hidden gem is definitely the walleye fingers though, yum! I didn't have anything last night because I was determined to have a two plus hour happy hour for ten bucks (is that a beautiful thing?) but I was enticed by their new and improved menu. Chili garlic snow peas really caught my attention, I'll have to try that next time. The service is usually pretty crappy, but honestly the prices totally make up for it. Usually you have to order your next drink halfway into your current one, because it will take that long, but once you know that trick you're golden. Yesterday though I was very surprised, we had Kelsey S, and she kept our happy hour going very steadily throughout. We were running errands in this area last night and thought we would stop by and check things out. The inside is very open with lots of TVs with various sports on them, and of course a mechanical bull in the middle of it all. The menus are printed on brown paper, and when combined with dim lighting, they are pretty much unreadable. Our sever commented on it actually and said many of her customers have been pulling out their cell phones to shed more light on them. Not a good start. I ordered the open face braised beef sandwich, and my wife the buffalo burger. When mine arrived, something didn't seem quite right, but the runner assured me that I had the right sandwich. She was wrong, it was a shredded chicken. I took a couple of bites, and it was good, but not what I ordered. Our server came over and I explained the issue, and she had to go get a menu to read the description to verify that indeed, I had the wrong one. Not sure if she was new or what, but it was pretty obvious I had the wrong one. Once she agreed it was wrong, she get me the correct thing, sort of. I had ordered tots as a side, and when the replacement came, it had chips as the side. They did get a side of tots eventually. As we were eating, the manager stopped over and apologized for the problems and said my meal was on him. Very nice. The food was very good actually chips rocked! Would I go back? Not sure. read more

Great steak and burger restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing classic western cowboy scean. The friendly staff is waiting for you right away. There was a 5 min wait but they offered a nice coached area with some popcorn to munch on. The side salad was fresh then came the sloppy Jack a staple sloppy Joe sandwich. It was spectacular the flavor is savory and just a bit tangy. The Frye's were good and the chips flavor was above Par. The wait staff was friendly and upbeat but it was not just her that checked up on us. the manager was involved and trying to find away to help make our experience that much better. Visited late in the evening because the hotel I was staying at next door had closed the restaurant for the evening. Cowboy Jack's was open later so we went. We came in and seated ourselves but we were not waited on for quite awhile. Normally I wouldn't complain about this if it were busy but it was pretty late and there were not many people in the restaurant. Family and I ate here during our visit to the MOA. We ordered a pizza and a few sandwiches. Food came out quick but was luke warm at best. Food was comparable to a bad applebees. Once we began eating our waitress went AWOL and we didn't see her again. Didn't check on us or offer refills on our drinks. Then after we finished our food we literally couldn't get the check to pay. Had a party of 7 on a busy night. Was told the wait would be 40 minutes but they sat us in 20 minutes and they were very accommodating. Friendly staff, and the manager came over before and after we were seated to ask if we needed anything. It was definitely loud in there, but we could talk without issues hearing. The calamari and cornbread appetizers were both great! If you get fries or tots, try them with the seasoned sour cream. It's hard to describe but it's awesome. read more

Cowboy jacks was awesome last night. Our server was very nice and delivered everything quick and with a smile. From the moment we walked on everything was nice. Popcorn was complimentary and fresh and the bull ride was entertaining. Our food came to the table very quick and everything was very good. The baked chicken "sandwich" (basically chicken, mashed potatoes, cornbread, gravy and veggies in a bowl) was amazing. The cream of chicken rice stayed hot as I ate and was VERY good. The pizza was also very flavorful, and had a lot of options. The pull tabs were also cool but the lady running it was somewhat bitter. The music was good as well with a lot of country singers covering popular songs from today and the old days. I've been to Cowboy Jack's in Bloomington a half dozen times. I really like their burgers. (That's all I've eaten there!) The prices are medium. They have great bands on some nights. My only dislike is that it's not a good place to take a date if you want to talk. The volume gets too high. Also, if you are sitting anywhere close to the band, the crowd can get bad enough to really interfere with your view and your table. read more

My Girlfriends and I went here for our routine drink after a long day. id say this was probably our 5th tome going to this bar. As we are at the bar a drunk customer approaches us and sexually harrassed myself and a one of my other girlfriends. He also proceeded to yell verbal threats and profanity at as and even started throwing things at us. The ENTIRE STAFF did nothing but sit there and watch the harassment. When my girl approached security about he completely ignored her and called her a bitch. He also proceeded to push hus co-worker for acknowledging that the harassment was wrong. I must say I have never been to an establishment where I felt very unsafe and unprotected. As well as how Embarrassing the situation was. The staff handled it poorly and I was very dissapointed by their actions. As well being discriminated against. My friends and I, nor anyone else I know will be giving this establishment anymore business and I do not recommend this establishment for women, especially those of color. They made us feel unwelcomed and very uncomfortabl. for staff to watch sexual harassment and just ignore it, I'm truly disgusted. read more

The service was simply awful, the waitress was to lazy to move around the table to take orders she stood at one end and tried yelling to everyone over the much too loud speaker above the table. When serving she would not move she handed things across your face to the other people. The food was simply awful. Had the BBQ Chicken Sandwich. It was dry and chewy and tasted like cardboard. The bbq sauce was nothing special and tasted like a jar off of any supermarket shelf with some tabasco added in. Could not eat it nor did I have a chance to say anything because the waitress never checked how things were or get a refill of drinks. This place is not a place to go for food and should be avoided at all costs. If you want to drink until you fall down drunk, then go there. Two of us decided to try the new restaurant (the former Steak and Ale) on a weekday lunch. We were greeted with "are you eating here???? " (followed by a hardened look as if what are you doing here); this was followed by a big sigh. The hostess took us over to literally the far end of the restaurant (the restaurant is HUGE) next to the bar. It was a less than ideal table to have for lunch. The food was horrible and the service was very inattentive and we felt like we were putting all these employees out. I did not care for the Texas ranch decor; however, my guest loved it. So to each their own. After we told our server that we were done. She looked strangely at our uneaten food and finally had to realize that we did not like the food (she never asked). When she did -- we told her we didn't care for the food at all. She quickly said "I'll get the manager" and ran off. We did not want to talk to the manager; nor did we want to wait any longer. Instead, we had to deal with the manager who was extremely defensive about the food and how everybody loves it. I personally think this place is a joke and it is meant for those who want to drink and have a good time watching a game or somebody riding "the bull" in the center of the restaurant. Recap: Food - -horrible. REALLY horrible. Service - WORSE than the food. Needless to say nobody said goodbye to us as we walked out. They obviously could care less about what we thought of them.
