I've been to Cowfish a few times, but this visit was so good that I had to write about it. The property is gorgeous, located on the South Shore of Long Island in the Hampton Bays. The restaurant is huge and always busy. They have two levels, and while I prefer sitting upstairs, both spaces are great. This time, I tried their New England Clam Chowder for the first time, and it was phenomenal. There wasn't a grain of sand to be found, and it was absolutely loaded with meaty, perfectly cooked, tender clams. The flavor was unforgettable. It managed to be creamy without feeling heavy. You know when a chowder leaves a thick coating of cream in your mouth that lingers long after each bite? This wasn't like that at all, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad. I've seen it presented this way before, and while it does put a little more work on the diner, it's really not a big deal to use a fork and knife. The lettuce was crisp and cold, the dressing tasted homemade, and the crouton crumble was a game changer. I decided to add the seared blackened scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. The upcharge was a little more than I would have liked for the amount, but it was worth it. After all, who doesn't love a scallop straight from Montauk? That scallop traveled less to get to my plate than I did to get to Hampton Bays. The drinks were festive, the wine was cold, and the atmosphere was lively. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family and have a great time.

Walked in in a Monday night. It was pretty busy. Got a nice table outside but covered. Cool vibe. Cocktails were real good. Got the artichoke dip which was good and the brussel sprouts which were ok. Main dish was the wedge salad with blackened shrimp. Pretty good. Prices are fair considering the location. Overall a good experience. And good service

Look, I'm just going to get to the point. This place over looks the harbor, is festive and what some might call loud, and has excellent food. The menu isn't huge which always is a good sign. Make reservations if you can, it was packed at 9pm. The whole staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I like to have a good time with staff if they're up to it. These folks all had a fun time with us. A must do if you're in the Hamptons.

The restaurant is located on the South Shore of Long Island in Hampton Bays. My brother had been here several times but I had never been so we decided to try it for dinner. It is on two levels and there are indoor and outdoor bars. They have comfortable acoustics so it is easy to make conversation. The restaurant is on the water so the view is spectacular. They do have a walk in policy [first come first served] but for large groups it is advisable to make a reservation since it gets very crowded in the summer. We were seated upstairs and our waitress came over and took our drink order. My brother got a Miller lite and I got the Sunset Spritz [bourbon, Aperol, Lemon juice and procecco] it was delicious. We asked for water as well. Our waitress was very informative [I didn't get her name, she is listed on the receipt as 300B,] She knew the menu inside out and was able to delineate the special that my brother ordered. She also came back to the table several times to see if we needed anything and if the food was to our liking. She took out entree order-my brother ordered the whitefish special and a side of truffle fries and I ordered the Block Island swordfish which came with couscous and grilled asparagus. Our food came in a short span of time during which my brother got another Miller Lite. My brother enjoyed the whitefish special and the swordfish that I ordered was flaky and tender. The asparagus were large and grilled to perfection. The squash that came with my brother's meal, [he doesn't care for them] which I ate were very tasty and delicious. After we finished our meal, we decided to look at the desert menu. I was interested in getting a double espresso but they only had french press coffee with an espresso blend which I declined. My brother decided the get the hot fudge sundae and I opted for the vanilla been cheesecake topped with a fruit compote. Both were delicious. The restroom was clean and they offer valet parking, Parking a van may be a little more problematic according to the staff. It is a pricey meal but this is to be expected given the quality of the food and the gorgeous setting. There is more than adequate help and everyone is accommodating. I would recommend.

The food here is INCREDIBLE!!! We had a kicka** salad and the ribs were falling off the bone! The tuna dish had a great rub on it and the baked potato was out of this world. We LOVED everything here and were so satisfied with the meal. Service was great and can't wait to come back when it's warm out!

Great staff, very good food, one of the nicest outside spaces on Long Island, but a few accessibility issues. Accessibility wise: no van parking, but the parking staff did make us one. The bathrooms are a little tight and the entrance has a short, steep ramp that my scooter got stuck on. Easy rolling otherwise. We really enjoyed our experience here.

Haven't been for a couple of years and as it was a gorgeous day and I felt like an outdoor libation out in the Hamptons . The bar outside is a huge rectangle bar right on the water . There's boats galore , tons of friendly people and terrific bartenders . Had some Buffalo shrimp ands perfectly made Martini and just had a chill afternoon . The restaurant is top notch and there is even a little ferry that can take you to Rumba their sister location . No Alec Baldwin or Jerry Seinfeld sightings but still .... Place is great all around . What are you waiting for ?? Let the stress melt away !!

When visiting the Hamptons, this is a must visit! From the astonishing views or delicious food, they truly deliver excellence. The clam chowder and ribs are to die for!

Had a great time here for my friend's birthday. Our waitress was friendly and even referred us to a bar for after dinner. All of the staff were on top of it for our big group of 16. The food was fresh and the drinks were smooth. The only negative I'd callout was the dessert. We got 2 cookie skillets which were a bit undercooked; granted the restaurant was closing and we were still seated.

Absolutely best location, who would of known. Decades in Hampton Bays without knowing about this place. Worth a visit, choose a time you probably don't have to wait to enjoy it more. The grounds and view are spectacular. Good choices on the menu. Comfortable seating with good acoustics conducive to conversation with a warm ambiance. The deserts are spectacular.

Now im bothered but I didn't want that to ruin my night. The waitress took our order for drinks and food. The whisky sour was ok and our wait for food began. I understand it may have been busy, but everyone around was getting there food quicker, lack of attention. We finally got our entrees and the dishes were ok. My duck was cooked perfectly but my wife's dish lacked some flavor. She had to be careful because the fish had fish bones and we had thought they had taken those out. I believe that every owner should follow this man's footsteps because he was very attentive to all and I feel that he turned our experience around for the better. Once we finished, he asked us about the food and what brought us there. Conversation with him was great and easy. We mentioned to him that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and he surprised us with a dessert and coffee. Last night I was driving back to the city and decided to check it out. I drove down the long road flanked by sand dunes. The sunset was simply beautiful. The place was pretty packed but I was able to get a table by the water with a view of the bay and marina. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The food arrived hot and nicely arranged. The main entree I selected was the "Long Island Monkfish" for 34$. The price was more than expected for the quantity of food and they should have included some bread - very much needed with the spicy vinaigrette. The monkfish was absolutely delicious! The leeks and gnocchi went perfectly with the fish. I read online that the Branzino is really good here. I really wanted to try the Branzino but they ran out of it. Before I left, I went to the restroom. They have two stalls so there was a bit of wait. The main area is open with sinks, soap and a Dyson dryer - no paper towels. The stalls are clean with ample space. While waiting, I chatted with the other people who had been to the Rose wine soirée earlier. They said it was great - unlimited rose wine plus appetizers at the beginning, including lobster rolls. Tickets were 60$ all inclusive. They had a DJ and small outdoor dance floor and it was almost all women. That's not a surprise - rose wine events tend to attract more women than men. I'm not sure why, maybe because rose wine is pink or the invite appeals more to a female audience.
