I've been coming to Cowgirl Cafe for over 6 years, and I always order the same thing -- a side of waffles, Everything Under the Sink, and some fruit. I've never been disappointed with the food or the service. The staff is always so pleasant and friendly, especially Gabriel and Samuel. When I first met them, I was a little intimidated, but I quickly realized they are two of the sweetest and friendliest young men I've ever met. The girls are also incredibly kind and welcoming, and I truly miss some of the past employees as well they were wonderful too. This place gets very busy, but the team is always on top of everything. I've never had any complaints, from the servers to the cooks. The boss is amazing and it really shows in how well the whole cafe is run. I've visited the Cowgirl Cafe several times while visiting Nipomo. We are usually seated as soon as we walk in, if not after a very short wait. The staff seem young, but they are all attentive and friendly. My aunt picked a few items and our server then pointed out a listing that had everything included, and was less expensive than ala carte. Thank you! Maybe it's because I'm always there on a Saturday morning, but it's a relaxed atmosphere and the other guests seem to be enjoying themselves too. Easily a favorite. read more

You walk into Cowgirl Cafe a visitor. You leave a local. It's a local dive in Nipomo where everyone knows your name and they serve hearty tasty food with large portions. The diner is decorated with various cowboy memorabilia which contributes of the homey local dive ambiance. My wife and I shared a half platter of biscuits and gravy and a short stack with eggs and sausages. Leslie took really good care of us and made sure my coffee stayed full. Pretty much a regular at this place while visiting family, at cowgirl cafe every item on the menu is a great option for your breakfast (haven't tried anything else except breakfast.. yet..) The omelets are very good, always a good choice no matter which one. The food is plenty, the coffee flowing and the service is truly warm and makes you feel welcome at any time. The restaurant is pretty unique with the branding marks in the walls, an interesting setup of rustic far west doors for the bathrooms and many more interesting items on and off the walls. Plenty of parking , Ashley welcomed me in with a friendly smile and sat me down . The coffee was hot and I can appreciate a heavy cup that will keep my coffee warm longer . I really enjoyed the Interior decor of a western theme. Even the patrons were friendly. I ordered the sausage and eggs with home fries and upgraded my toast to biscuits and gravy for another $ 1 and a large milk. The sausage has great flavor the eggs were cooked to perfection and the home fries were hot and the bell pepper and onion really made them delicious. The bisques and gravy were good . This whole wonderful food flavored experience was topped off by Ashley's excellent service, her friendliness and smile are contagious. Haven't been here in 10+ years. Was nice to try it again, even though it was 7:00 in the morning. It seems like there are plenty of regulars who patron this place, making it a home away from home for some. Service was fine, no major complaints. Nothing exquisite....just...fine. I have been to Cowgirl Cafe in Nipomo dozens of times. Each time, I have received an excellent meal. This visit was a bit more special than the previous dozens because I haven't been there in years. You see, I left Nipomo in 2012 and had only been back to Cowgirl a couple of times since. Today's breakfast was special because of the warm, friendly greeting we got as soon as we walked in the door. It was special because of the window seating. It was special because of the excellent personable and quite competent service we received. And, of course, it was special because the food was every bit as good, if not better, than what we remember having on previous visits. The eggs were prepared perfectly, the chicken fried steak was truly fork tender with a superb, perfectly seasoned crust. The biscuit, so big it occupied a separate plate, was tender and hot. The potatoes were still the best of any restaurant I have visited for breakfast and the gravy. Oh, the gravy - quite simply the best sausage gravy I've ever tasted. The service is friendly and genuine but the seating is right next to an intersection so don't expect a phenomenal view. The giddy-up breakfast plate was a pretty standard breakfast except for the delicious maple sausage and the upgrade to a biscuit and gravy- that is a must have. I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant. Years ago it was my dads and my favorite place. This last time I went the service was very bad. It was an hour before closing. The place was empty. The server refused to let my friend and I sit at a larger table. They shoved us in the back my the cooking crew. We asked to move up and they said no, they tables are for bigger parties. Lol ok. This is my second time visiting this cafe. The cowgirl theme is cute and the cafe is crowded, however the ambiance contributes to the portion of food given. I thought the first time was just a fluke. The food couldn't be this good all the time. This time I ordered the seafood omelette with hollandaise sauce. It was delicious! My husband ordered the chili verde omelette and the meat was cooked to perfection. The flavors for both dishes worked really well together. The service was excellent, too!
