Went to Dutch Bros Coffee this morning and had one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had in a long time. We placed a mobile order ahead of time and showed up with 7 minutes still remaining on the completion estimate. We walked up to the window, were acknowledged by staff, and then proceeded to stand outside in the cold while our already-paid-for order was repeatedly pushed behind the entire drive-thru line. Roughly 8-10 cars were served before we finally received our drinks, despite physically being right there waiting. The manager -- who refused to provide her name -- tried to justify it by explaining they "still had time" left on the order window, completely missing the point. The issue wasn't the timer. The issue was the total lack of customer awareness and common courtesy. If customers are standing outside waiting, maybe don't continuously prioritize every single car over them while pretending that's acceptable service. What really sealed it for me, though, was as we were leaving, the manager loudly started congratulating the crew with, "Good job guys, you all did a great job," clearly within earshot after the interaction we had just experienced. It came across less like encouragement and more like passive-aggressive validation of poor customer service. That moment alone said everything. Failure in customer service almost always starts at the management level. Employees follow the tone leadership sets, and this location clearly has management teaching staff that dismissiveness, poor prioritization, and condescending communication are perfectly acceptable. If you're traveling on the 101 and will be passing by Nipomo, jump off that Tefft exit and grab a coffee, rebel, flavored water or soda... there's something for EVERYONE! Every Friday, on my way to work, I stop by Dutch to get my weekly treat. I love their coffee! My go-to is an Extra Hot Golden Eagle, sugar free, domino shot (half white coffee/half regular), with Oatmilk. My favorite thing about Dutch is the amount of sugar free options they have, far superior to Starbucks. The staff is always so friendly! Sometimes I ask them to surprise me (they know my favorite flavors) and they don't disappoint. In my humble opinion, Alicia is the best manager this stand has had since they opened 4 yrs ago. You can get points on your purchase thru the App, I forgot to scan and didn't get a receipt (next time). Two drive thru lanes keep it movin' even with the small space they maximize the efficiency. This is my favorite Dutch Bros in the area, due to how easy it is to access off the 101. I come to this one the most, due to how welcoming the employees are, and the best drinks are served here. However, I came here and had a bad experience on 5/16 at 7:25 a.m. The employee (septum piercing, black hair) who was at the window/helping make drinks did not even acknowledge me, or say hello. She didn't read my order back either. Instead, she was talking with her bar-mate. The person who acknowledged me was the manager, who is one of the sweetest people ever! When my drink was ready, she didn't look happy. She just handed me my drink, sticker, and straw without saying "you're welcome" or "thank you". I have had bad interactions with this employee before, not speaking a word while serving drinks. This employee needs to learn better customer service, as she makes my experience feel like I am at McDonald's. I come to Dutch for the amazing customer service, as the company prides itself on that. I understand that it gets busy, but she can at least do the bare minimum and say something. read more

This location is always amazing. It's a must stop for us when driving up the Northern Coast of California. Love Dutchbros! They have the most delicious drinks. My go to is the Caramelizer but the golden eagle is also so good. I usually get both types of drinks in a cold brew and love them. The service is always the best, the employees are friendly, helpful and quick! The location is perfect right off the freeway. Easy access to get back on and get off. There is no indoor seating, or outdoor, it's a quick stop on the go type of coffee shop. The vibe of the place is great! The Employees make sure to make the service personalize each time we go. On our way to Los Angeles, my family and I were super excited that there were a couple Dutch Bros locations on the way; we chose to go to this location as it wasn't too far off from the route that we were taking. Unlike other coffee locations where they tend to mess up your order, this place did not mess up our drinks at all. Although there were a lot of people in line , the line went by pretty quickly. I was a bit bummed that they didn't have any stickers at this location (I got free stickers at other locations in Texas), but that is no big deal. read more

The iced vanilla protein latte is really sweet despite being sugar free and tastes really similar to one of those glass bottle Starbucks frappes that you can buy at the store! The medium has about 200 calories and 24 grams of protein. There was only one car ahead of us in the drive thru so it was super quick service and we had our drinks within a couple of minutes! I go here multiple times a week and 9 times out of 10 the customer service is horrible. Some days the workers at the window are very nice and it's a pleasant experience but others I don't even get a hello or have a nice day they just hand me my drink and walk off. That happened today and I was waiting at the window trying to get someone's attention to ask for a straw and no one even noticed. Stopped by the Nipomo location a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Very pleased with the products offered but blown away by the service! Every associate was so friendly and anxious to make you feel welcome. We have never been to a place that treated us seniors like long-lost friends. How you managed to find so many enthusiastic young people in today's job market is incredible. So we returned and returned and the service is always the same. I will come here over Starbucks . Prices are better and staff is friendly and overall the store is ran smoothly. I've had a positive experience when I come for my daily coffee . Also their drinks are sweet if you don't like sweet ask for half sweet! Plus they have a lot of sugar free options here as well ! The only down side is drive thru does get really busy after 8 and hard to cross traffic during rush hour . read more
