I stopped in with my teenager after a day of shopping. We were the only customers in the creamery, but neither the employee nor the person who appeared to be the owner greeted us or acknowledged us when we came in. When it was time to pay, the employee simply turned the iPad toward me for payment and walked away without saying a word. After completing the transaction, I stood there waiting, but there was still no interaction. I ended up turning the iPad back around myself and leaving. The ice cream was decent, but the complete lack of customer service and basic courtesy made the experience disappointing. A simple greeting and a "thank you" would have gone a long way. read more

This was my first time. I normally go to another place a little future down the street, but win for them as they were open on this Saturday afternoon I was there. The decor was so cute The shop is small, you can eat inside, but I am sure it does become crowded. There is a bench outside the shop. There is the cutest cow bench as well inside. When we walked in we order quick. I got a strawberry milkshake to try and share, the reeses pieces ice cream and at the last minute I noticed "wooder" ice! Good ol Philadelphia treat. I highly recommend getting the water ice, I enjoyed the cotton candy flavor. They did have cherry,, and mango flavors as well. Not that reeses flavor was sooooo good. It had great peanut butter flavor with a few reeses pieces to enjoy. The strawberry shake had chunks of strawberries in it and the cup was laced with strawberry syrup/sauce. The two employees working when I was there were a lot of fun. They helped guide us on their flavors. They put in a lot of effort to make my strawberry shake look and taste yummy. read more

I had a great experience at Cowlick's after a not-so-great experience at their competitor down the road (was initially ignored and they don't have plant-based ice cream options until the summer). The vibe at Cowlick's, however, was totally different. As soon as I walked into the busy shop I was warmly greeted and I saw the employees smiling and engaging with customers. The shop is bright, well-lit and colorful. They have a segmented overhead menu for their traditional ice cream and for the plant-based ice cream, which is clearly labeled and easy to read. I got the plant-based Cookies & Cream and my husband got their award-winning Carmel Cookie Butter flavor. We had great, friendly service and a smooth order process. This was my first time in a Cowlick's shop and I love that they give you a waffle cone chip with your order! I love waffle cones but usually opt for the cup because it's less expensive and less messy, but this was the best of both worlds with the waffle cone chip! The plant-based Cookies & Cream is made from pea protein and was rich, creamy, and delicious! My husband also enjoyed his Carmel Cookie Butter. What a cute little place. It's that place you walk by and go... 'sure... I could do some of that'. Upon entering, it's fairly straight forward. A place to peek at the creameries and yes, you can have small samples. When ordering you can do your usual add-ons and include sprinkles (which I did) and other various items. FYI - they don't have a bathroom if you're looking for one. But that's ok. It really is designed as a place to just grab-n-go. If we're ever in the area, we'd totally come back. MOOve your way down the street to try Cowlick's! Highly recommend! I'll start off by saying our intention was to get ice cream at Brown Dog but the line was so long that we decided to try Cowlick's Creamery.we were able to walk right in and I was immediately excited to see that Black Raspberry Truffle was a featured flavor...I wasn't disappointed. We were camping at cherry stone and drove into cape Charles for lunch on a rainy day. After an excellent lunch, we were walking the main strip and saw cowlicks so we stopped in to try it. We were so glad we did!! It's a great little spot and they have limited flavors that change so you keep going back to try them all!! Very clean and well decorated ! This could be a great place but it is not. There are several things this place is lacking. First, how about the employees actually smile and be engaged. They are rude and really come across as the customer is bothering them. Second, they only have three flavors of ice cream. Really, this is 2021; I don't expect 32 flavors but a few specialty / seasonal flavors is expected. Third, the only way you will receive a receipt for our purchase is if you give them your email or phone number! They do not have a receipt printer and the rude employees refused to hand write one after refusing to give my email or phone number. This is a fantastic place to get custard! The flavor selection is limited but they more than make up for it in quality. Keep in mind that this custard is SO rich, one scoop of their custard felt like two scoops of any other ice cream! I chose their brownie flavor, while my partner chose a salted pretzel caramel and both were delicious. They have a seating area inside which is comfortable and out of the way of the ordering area.
