If I could put zero stars I would. Let say our experience has been less than pleasurable. It started by us walking through the Walmart store in Chandler, AZ, since we just moved here, and there was a very nice young lady behind a Cox table. We needed cable so we decided to kill 2 birds with one stone. It took about 1 hour to go through the process but we had a date of July 4th (yes on the holiday) for installation which I thought was great. We had to get working on July 5th, since my wife works remotely. I received an email confirming the installation, all good, yeah right. Come July 4th no technician.....I called their customer service and was informed, by a supervisor, that the technician was not scheduled because we had not confirmed the phone service through their outside contracted service. I informed them that indeed I had completed the process and he put me on hold, came back and said that since I had not approved the process the same day I had booked it they did not schedule the technician. I completed the process the following day which was 2 days prior to the installation. According to the supervisor that was not good enough and no technician would be out to install our service for an additional 48 hours. No matter that my wife need to start working remotely the next day. They came out 2 days later and the technician set everything up.....except, oops, brought out the wrong modem. He had to come back the next day. He did and replaced the modem....all good, NOT. Every other day I have to have them reset one of the boxes because it starts working in the morning and then goes out. Today, they fixed the issue remotely and while on the chat it went out again......now tech will be out tomorrow. DO NOT GO WITH COX!!!!! THEY SUCK! read more

From the time I moved to Scottsdale I have not had a satisfying experience with COX Communications. First of all - a hard time "Communicating" with COX. You get one person and they hand you off to the next. I have had 3 different telephone numbers and they can't even get my account in the right name. Not only that - they at one time had not only the wrong number but the wrong name on the caller ID that those I would call would see, Pretty pathetic. I just wrote a letter to them and one to their main office in Atlanta. Can't do much else. Wish they had Comcast here. Never a problem with them EVER! read more

Cox is the only company in the world I can truly say I HATE to deal with. In addition to the worst service, their customer service is worst in world class. Now their latest scam is every published number you can find takes you to a sales rep after a 10 minute wait. Then from there you transferred to tech support for another 10 minute wait. Then you get the village idiot who fumbles to reboot your box over and over. My box constantly freezes and they recommend you call them to reboot it. REALLY? with such crap service, such crap customer service, and overpricing I am looking at Direct TV. If you are considering Cox then don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Cox internet support has really deteriorated! It takes more than 2 days to get a tech dispatched in Mesa. Phone support staff can't do anything more than ask you to run a speed test and reset your modem. In the meantime, they continue to bill the customer full price, as if he/she is still getting full service. They really show a lack of concern for their residential customers. Very sad... I'd recommend finding a service that cares about quality and support. read more

So today after more than a week without Cox TV here in Phoenix, Arizona, due to an outage, six calls to their service technician, five times told to unplug and re-plug in their cable box, then told that it was a bad cable box and I need to replace it at their Chandler store and reinstall the new one. Which I did and it did NOT fix the outage. Still no signal. The following week they finally send a technician who confirms NO signal, and now he 'thinks' it is a bad TV cable coming from their distribution box across the street. But he said he can't replace it because it shares the understreet conduit with my fiber optics cable. He will have to schedule a cable repair tech to 'flush' the conduit, pull the cable and replace the bad TV cable. Well the technician waits 48-hours to schedule the cable repair technician, and I have to wait another 48-hours before one is available. The "cable repair" technician arrived today, and said he can't replace the TV cable because it moves the fiber optics cable when he pulls on it. He will have to schedule a fiber optics technician to disconnect my internet service so that they can pull both cables out of the conduit. He 'thinks' they can schedule a technician maybe Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday of NEXT week!! So it could be another WEEK... or could be never before they fix the outage!!! read more

Well now Cox Communications has it set up that every time I call, they hang up on me. This happened to me last week when I was trying to resolve a billing issue. So I went in to their Cox Communications store to talk to someone about my problem and pay my bill via credit card. Horrible customer service. A simple upgrade in my antiquated cox box ended up in a new contract that, as I was told, would save me money. I found out that it raised my bill, it was only a 2 year contract (without my knowledge) and my bill would increase again after the 2 years. All this for a box swap! Then, the new box didn't work. On the phone since 10am. "Tier 1 and tier 2" couldn't repair. Scheduled a tech out between 5 and 7pm. Sat and waited. Waited for that 30 minute call guaranteed prior to arriving, No call. No show. I called and got Texas (Im in Phx). They said I wasn't home. I have been home ALLLLL day dealing with this moral-less company.. They offered me $20 for my trouble. Still don't have a working cable box. I've finally decided to cancel this nightmare. Im paying $240 a month for grief, frustration and tears. Im going with a different company. We were paying $193 a month for service that kept disconnecting. We contacted service and they said we needed a new modem and there would be no charge. The tech was supposed to be out between 3 and 5 to set up the new modem. He arrived at 4:50 even though the customer service rep said he would call when he was on his way. After waiting 20 minutes he called to see when we would be there. He said the appointments are set for his convenience and not ours. We would have been home by the time we said we could get there and one hour before the end of the range. We reschedule for a day when we were off which was 5 days later. When we got into the house we discovered our internet and TV were not working. We called Cox to learn the tech had reprogrammed for the new modem so we would have no service for 5 days. We decided to cancel service but the customer service rep offer $75 for the loss of service and for the poor handling by the tech. She had done a good job, but did not feel that we should pay for the modem and the aggravation. I asked for the supervisor who offer $36. I couldn't believe when she went backward. Needless to say I canceled service and will not do business with Cox again. read more

The service is good when it's on, but that is sporadic. My real complaint is when I had to suspend service due to a move. First, they would not allow me to keep my phone number of fifteen years because service was going to be suspended for more than 30 days. Second, and worse, I had to ask multiple times for them to send me a mailer to return the cable modem. They finally sent one after 2 calls and 3 weeks. I returned the modem that day. Even a month later, they claimed I had not returned it and had to prove that I did. (Fortunately, I had taken a picture of the package when I gave it to UPS. However, that was not good enough for Cox, and they had used a service without clear tracking.) Cox then started and persisted in sending threatening and nasty past due notices, and actually turned my account over to a collections agency. Finally, two months after this saga began and after wasting hours of my time on the phone with them, Cox acknowledged that I had returned the equipment weeks earlier. Customer service stinks. Whatever happens is the customer's "fault." Even if you have an outage for days, Cox will not credit your bill. Now, this irresponsible nonsense on the back end. If you want to be disrespected and put through constant misery, Cox is the company for you! Glad to have such compelling reasons to never go back. read more

So my cable company decided to come out and shut my cable off 3 days before I asked them to and they won't send anybody back to correct it until tomorrow. Smoke n mirrors. Last week I noticed my new Cox Cable/internet account (which had been set up for automatic monthly payment) had not been debited from my bill payment account. Even though it was after hours I called CS at Cox to find out what had happened. By now I knew my account had to be past due...even though when I spoke to Cox nearly a month and half ago to make sure it was set up properly, it was confirmed. Today, after being on the phone with Cox Ifor over 44 minutes i found out the following: my account had not been set up correctly by Cox. The CS rep told me that I owed two months and she would correct the error immediately. She also wanted to transfer me to billing so that i could make the past due payment AND my Oct 26th payment immediately and it would only cost $10.00. I told the rep I would not pay that fee and then she told me there was a late fee accrued and added to Oct bill for previous month. I asked why I had to pay a LATE fee of nearly $9.00 and why I had to pay Oct bill not due until end of month. She told me that that was the only way. I told her I would also not pay the late fee as the whole problem was Cox fault. She then told me she could Waive the two fees. I asked her why she did not offer to do so before she told me to pay the bill immediately, especially as the whole issue was Cox fault. She did not have an answer. Even though I felt conned by fox I paid the past due AND the third month in advance and made suremy account was now set up correctly. Then I asked to speak to a CS Manager. After waiting on the phone for 25 minutes a manager came on the phone. I described the above scenario. She was very polite and kept apologizing for the error. I requested that she carry forward a message to the CEO/etc of Cox that perhaps they should spend less money on their advertising and more on hiring CS managers. Also Cox has to put on my/your bill that they WAIVED late fee and bill payment fee. That makes Cox appear to be philanthropic (doing a favor) even though they were the cause of the problem. These items appear on account receivable as line items that will eventually add up to a monthly/quarterly/annual report that indicates a loss to the bottom line. Guess what a LOSS does for Cox taxes. Nickle/diming customers and not including a line item for "Oops we made a mistake" in an industry that has inflated prices, charging fees for their mistakes and then backtracking, in an industry that is losing ground...SHAME on you. Not important to the issue I am blind and my TV is a friend, I am on a fixed income that makes TV a luxury for me . Thank you. People are getting wise to companies like yours. COX STOLE MY PROPERTY! DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE! I ordered internet service and the tech inadvertently took my router. I don't believe it was intentional. What I am upset about is the way COX handled it. I called 4x and spent more than 2 hours on the phone just trying to get my property back. Each time they say they will return it or replace it and 27 days later and numerous calls and hours on the phone they have done nothing. I don't have an hour to waste every time I have t call them. I tried to be nice and that got me no where. the 4rth time I called I told them I was done being nice, return my property or I was reporting them to BBB and Police. The only reason I didn't file a police report is because the install tech was great. I don't think he did it on purpose he just took mine with his. The way cix handles the problem is horrid. I put in a transfer order a week before we moved. Five days before our move Cox disconnected the internet, TV and phone indicating we were not billed when the service was off. Yet when I spoke to billing I was billed and no credit was offered. This happened twice. A month earlier I tried putting in a transfer. Cox shut down my internet then as well. I had to call them out to get it turned on. Additionally, they messed up the transfer of service. The new service couldn't be connected. Plus they had to schedule three different connection orders. When the first guy came out I complained. He said he would fix it. We ended up with five techs at our house until 7pm. They had to replace all of the equipment because the transfer orders were written wrong. To top it off I'm being charged over $300. for this mess and they tried to charge me late fees when I'm part of their sure-pay system. Save your money use another carrier. When my contract expires I'm moving on. read more

They are the worst. No customer service at all. I'm in a new house in Scottsdale - and after 8 days of waiting, am no closer to having cable TV or internet than I was on day one. First problem was that the line could not be pulled across the street because it was "blocked", and that took 4 days (15 minutes process), then 3 days later they decide that the "ports" are damaged (not sure why nobody checked during the first repair visit...) and that could take another week to get fixed, then I will have to schedule a tech to come out which will take 3-4 more days. Overall, if I ever get service it will take 2-3 weeks from the date it was set to be installed. Nobody will ever own the problem, you cannot speak to anybody that can resolve the problem (it is all 3rd party vendors that do the repair work), and they tell me that I am lucky - since it takes some people 30-60 days to get service in a new home. BS - I am in an established development and am not the first house in the development (I am actually close to being the last). This is terrible, and I so wish that there was a good alternative (and I don't mean centurylink). They should lose their license to do business in the City of Scottsdale!!! read more

Over the years I have reduced their expensive services down to just internet. They have some great people who work in the field, but their customer service call center sucks. I waited on the phone on hold for 45 minutes to speak with a person. They had a fast chat response, but were not allowed to help me with disconnecting my service. They had fast facebook messenger response time, but then at 45 minutes someone finally answered the phone. I told him I needed to cancel my service for this Friday. He asked why and I said the price kept increasing and the service was not very good. He asked if they could do a better price and make the service better would I stay? I told him that if the service was not good now, I did not believe it was going to get better. Especially if they make their customers wait on hold for 45 minutes. He told me that was unrelated to the service, continued to talk over me, tell me how I was probably using it wrong and was generally rude to me. I kept saying, excuse me, but nope, he just talked over me. I told him that I thought was rude, but he told me it wasn't because I am canceling the service. I asked if that gave him permission to treat me that way... and asked to speak with his manager. "Supervisor" he corrected me. So condescending. And put me on hold again. I hung up. I would like to give no stars. Not an option. I am an over 25 years customer. I have phone, Internet and "Whole Home" DVR TV service. My bill is nearly $300 per month. Over the years I have had great service but not in the last few. I suspect the company has grown to fast and cannot keep up. I am reviewing the "Whole Home" service. I have 4 additional boxes and the central DVR. It took 4 service calls ( 4 hour windows) to get it to work at all when first installed. Then it started again. I have spent more time on the phone, more time pulling plugs and rebooting, more wasted hours on service calls and the system just does not consistently work. I feel like my life has become trouble shooter for cable TV. We don't watch a lot of TV live but record and watch in the evenings. It's always something. Stall, pixels, or just no go. Cannot connect, cannot , cannot, cannot. Error messages. Recently it took 3 nights of reboots and restarts to watch an on demand movie all the way through. Then another recorded show, same thing, 3 nights of unplug, reboot to see the entire program. I'm Sooooo over it. I've decided my life is more valuable than troubleshooting TV each night. We are switching to direct TV tomorrow. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for TV. read more

I can't even begin to explain how ridiculous this company has been. I will NEVER go through this company again. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I've spoken to at least ten representatives in the past month and a half and at least three supervisors dealing with the same issues. Apparently no one who works for the company knows what they are doing. I have been charged $140 for equipment I never rented from them. I have had every single representative I have spoken to confirm that it was a mistake on their end and they will be "taking care" of it and yet here come's another bill in the mail saying that I owe money. I call again. They figure it out. Our mistake, our mistake. Then another bill. Now it has been sent to collections. I call and the supervisor says, "No, I promise you it has not gone to collections." After I just get off the phone with the collections company. Really? Then I speak to ANOTHER supervisor and well you get the picture. Nobody knows what the hell they are doing here. Every supervisor seems to be incompetent. I am so beyond frustrated and over spending my time off dealing with this company. If you make a mistake, you fix it. Figure it out. If I could rate this review a zero, I would. It's not that difficult to cancel an account Cox, figure it out. read more
