I live in Austin now, but haven't found any dentist who comes close. So when I found out I had a cavity (which I've never had before) I was really, really anxious about the numbing/drilling/etc. and didn't want just any dentist to do it. I worked out my schedule so that I could fly to Allen after a work trip to see him. When they said this was going to be the easiest part of my week, it really was. He gave me some laughing gas, numbed my mouth with some gel & let that start working before injecting a tiny bit of numbing, then waited a bit more before giving me the full numbing dose -- I genuinely never felt anything. I listened to music and they talked me through everything that was going to happen so I was at ease the whole time. Never thought I'd say this, but it was such a pleasant experience. BEST PART: Gemma (the hygienist assisting) asked me if I had any big plans and I told her about flying in and my plans to drive back to Austin today. She came back a couple minutes later with two "road trip goodie bags" for my mom and I that had some coffee mugs, Starbucks gift cards and a gift card for Dairy Queen to stop for lunch on the way. They often remember my name or small details about me (where I work, who my family members who come are), and as I was in the waiting room, I heard one of the hygienists call somebody back and enter into a casual conversation about the patient's motorcycle. Everybody there is so gentle, and will stop immediately if you're uncomfortable at all, and try to correct it so you're as comfortable as possible. It's the little things like putting chapstick on your dry lips or offering a warm towel to dry the stray water droplets off your face after any work you have done that sets this office apart. Today specifically, Stephanie I think it was impressed me a lot by not only telling me about the cavities she suspected, but also took pictures of them, and went over the pictures and xrays with me pointing out what looked suspicious to her. This was my first time seeing her, but I love her already! I recommend this office to anybody and everybody! It's fantastic :)

Their office was closed several days without any explanation. The answering service did not even know why! Finally got them. The office manager Lisa is a very rude unhappy person. AT NO TIME did this office tell us they had called to verify benefits, even though we had asked repeatedly for them to do so. The final straw came today. I called Lisa, office manager, as to why they had not confirmed benefits so we could make an appointment for needed work. She stated it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get an estimate. I informed her that other dentist called and got the info immediately. I then listened to her berate insurance companies as being untruthful and not paying the claim as estimated. I disagreed. After listening to her ranting for so long, I informed her not coming back again! I have never seen a person try to loose business as she did. You don't belittle the patient's insurance company and argue! Reported this to the insurance company! Good luck if you have to deal with this office :(

When you call, you're treated with kindness & professionalism. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze, was able to electronically fill out my info. My actual appointment was stellar from the hygienist to dentist, they explained everything in an easy to understand way. The solutions and treatments were never from a sales approach but rather the best thing that can be done for my dental health. They discuss best case scenarios to worst case scenario. I recently had my first visit at Paragon Dentistry, specifically with Dr. Jason Hui, for a routine cleaning, and I'm very happy that I went to them. The hygienist, whose name I believe was Kathleen, was outstanding, and I made a point to make sure she'd be the one cleaning my teeth when I go back in six months. I didn't spend as much time with Dr. Hui because there was no need to, but he did a great job of explaining the examination and X-ray results and what I can expect on future visits. I'm very glad to have found this practice, definitely plan to go back, and certainly recommend them to others.

This office cleaned out my flex account last year, but problems persist. They're saying I may need to come out of pocket another 2 grand due to more gum problems (which I thought were corrected my previous visit which cost over a thousand dollars). Also, just when you think you've paid your entire bill after cleaning out my flex, these mystery charges seem to spring out of nowhere and because I got billed the next calendar year, my FSA will not accept the payment. It started out as a friendly relationship but now, they seem to approach healthcare like used car salesmen. I have already switched dentists.

When I scheduled my filling appointment weeks in advance, I was quoted about $50 out-of-pocket and required to leave a $25 deposit, which already seemed unusual for a small procedure. I paid it anyway. When I arrived for my appointment and was already in the dental chair, a back-office staff member came in with a new quote of $100. This was the first time I was told of any change, and the quote did not even reflect the $25 deposit I had already paid. I calmly asked when they realized the cost would be higher than what I was quoted. No one answered that question. Instead, I was repeatedly told, "This is insurance," in a dismissive, condescending tone. Rather than working toward a solution, they chose to reschedule my appointment. I requested my deposit back and decided not to continue care there. I had driven in from Oklahoma for this appointment, making the situation especially frustrating. As I was leaving, the staff member who originally booked my appointment smiled broadly and said "bye" in a way that felt clearly sarcastic and unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but clear communication, accurate billing, and basic professionalism matter. Unfortunately, this office fell short.
