Everyone is still pleasant enough but the focus does not seem to be on expediting properly... Note to self: don't tip in advance. Check the order first. El Pastor Taco: pork, roasted pineapple, onion. My tacos: pork, cotija cheese. What a disappointment as I was 1) really looking forward to trying this taco recipe (I've been a customer since the Wynwood location first opened, promising breakfast tacos) and 2) how hard can it be to confirm the correct ingredients are in the tacos, before packaging. Our only recourse, as Customers, is a review to draw the restaurant's attention to what needs to be improved. While visiting in the area, this place came highly recommended for authentic Mexican style street food. It's located in downtown Miami in Brickell in the bottom of the Axis building. There are multiple locations, the one I came to is on SW 1st ave. If you don't live in the area, it's best to Uber because parking is extremely limited. I did see quite a few scooters that people can rent to get around. Once I entered I knew this was not your ordinary Mexican fast food restaurant like Chipotle. The vibe is very upbeat, trendy and hip. The noice level is a bit loud because of the live music playing, and they get a lot of local patrons from the area. There is seating outside and they have huge fans blowing that keep everyone cool. The first thing I did when I entered was to get in line to place my order. This place gets very busy, after all they make the best tacos, and burritos I've had in a very long time. Their menu is displayed up on the wall behind the staff. You can watch as every single dish is made fresh to order, no shortcuts, so be prepared to wait for your food. Once the order is placed your food is delivered to your table by a staff member, or wrapped up in brown paper bags for takeout. This place isn't fancy, but you definitely get a feeling of pride when your here. The staff all wear black tee shirts that say 305 ( Miami's area code) and a drawing of the state of Florida on them. On their brown to go bags they have a picture of hands praying on it. What is unique about this Coyo Taco Brickell Restaurant is they have a live DJ spinning music on a Thursday night. I came around 8:30-9:00p, they are open until 11pm Monday-Thursday and Friday and Saturday 11am until 2am. Many of the Patrons were dancing in line while placing and waiting for their orders. I even witnessed people getting up from their tables and dancing to the Spanish music.It was such a good feeling to see everyone eating, drinking, laughing and very happy including the staff. Everyone seemed to know the words to the Spanish songs. I thought it great! To the left of the counter is a small bar area. You can order several types of beer, sangria, wine, fresh or frozen margaritas with I believe over 100 tequilas to choose from and they serve premium shots of tequila. I chose their frozen Blood Orange Margarita, it was really good. For my main dish I ordered the POLLO AL CARBON-) grilled marinated chicken, queso, pico de Gallo, and salsa fresca all wrapped up in a burrito. It was huge and really stuffed. I could taste the freshness. My burrito was really really delicious and I got their salsa verde and homemade cilantro sauce for dipping. I was only able to eat half and took the other half home. I also got an order of their homemade guacamole and chips. The guacamole had chunks of avocado in it and was kept simple with salt, lime juice and chopped tomatoes. It was simply dressed and very fresh, I couldn't stop eating it. COYO TACO offers dessert like churros and Paletas but I was too full to try it. When I come back to Miami I will definitely be returning here. read more

If it's your first time at Coyo, make sure you visit the salsa bar, which is around the corner from the cashier. I came to Coyo Taco kind of early on a Saturday night (around 7:30pm). It's located in Brickell so parking is limited. I took an Uber from my house and also noted the Metrorail is very close, walking distance from restaurant. It was not packed at all. There was one person taking orders at the register when you first walk in, and someone else who came when the line began to grow taking orders off to the side with an iPad. They have cups for self serve beverages to the side of the register, and my favorite part was finding out they had around 6 or so different sauces you can pour yourself and try ranging from mild to hot! Yum! The restaurant has a few large picnic tables and smaller tables for couples to sit. When the food arrived I initially got the wrong order. I had ordered a bowl and they gave me a burrito, however, when I brought this up to the staff they corrected the mistake immediately and with no hesitation. Once I got my order again and tried the food, my tastebuds were in heaven! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor! I ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and the chicken bowl for my entree. Both were so good and I'd highly recommend them, you'll leave here feeling stuffed (like I did lol)! read more

The only downfall I'd say is I wanted to order the tacos originally but as they were bringing them out to other people the tacos looked very small for the price and like not enough food. With tacos, you have the choice of flour or corn tortillas. The tacos were delicious but a little wet, which caused the tortilla to start to split making it a messy lunch to eat. My chicken burrito was really good. They somehow failed to bring out one of our meals and once they realized it, they apologized and gave us some more guac on the house. We came here after exploring the neighborhood for a few hours. Even though it was mid afternoon when we stumbled a cross Coyo, the line was out the door, so we decided to come back later. I guess it is always popular, because when we returned, the line had not changed. So we decided to wait in it. We were fortunate enough to find a rare seat for four and grabbed it. We ordered tacos which were good, and drinks. We decided to try the margaritas and the red bull margarita. I do not recommend the red bull margarita, as it is overly sweet, with an artificial orange flavor. The original blended margaritas were good, although weak. How can anyone not love Coyo Taco? This place is a classic for me. The Brickell and Wynwood locations are both great. Friendly staff, they are constantly walking around picking up trays and cleaning up. They are always packed but manage to serve people super fast, but most importantly, not sacrificing quality! I always get the burrito bowls but everything else is great. The tacos, burritos and the guacamole - uff!! Soo good, so fresh. The avocados are always perfectly ripe and have great flavor. My husband and I were super excited to try Coyo Taco. Who doesn't love tacos?! Granted I'm biased because I'm from Los Angeles and I know good tacos very well. We ordered a few orders of chicken and carne asada tacos and a half gallon jug of the margaritas. We were given tortilla chips to eat while we waited and they were super stale. We told one of the employees and she said it's because they don't make them fresh (*side eye*). Overall the tacos were definitely edible; the meat was cooked well and the texture was right but the flavors just didn't come together. They did not hit the spot. We would definitely come back for the margaritas though. They were basic but strong and we couldn't get anywhere near finishing the half gallon. Glad it was in a container we could take home! YES. I am so excited Coyo Taco opened down the road from me, offering fast casual Mexican food to the masses! If you're a fan of the Wynwood location, you'll be excited to know this outpost has more seating indoors, and introduces some new menu items like tortas and most notably, brunch on the weekends. My go-to order is a steak burrito bowl with a side of guac and chips. It's super filling and if I'm able to show restraint, I can usually take home part of it for an extra meal. Besides that, I'd highly recommend any of the tacos but especially the duck, as well as the pulpo frito if you are feeling adventurous. For aforementioned brunch (which starts at 11:00 am on Saturday and Sunday), they offer an array of dishes including breakfast burritos, quesadillas, huevos rancheros and more. I ordered chilaquiles which was a giant portion of tortilla chips topped with chile, cheese, eggs and more. So filling, so delicious. If you want a sweet treat, I'd highly recommend the churros that come with a chocolate and cajeta (similar to dulce de leche) dipping sauce, or a refreshing paleta (popsicle). They currently don't have a full bar but do have beer, sangria, sodas and agua fresca. You'll pay more than you would at some hole-in-the-wall shops, but the quality and atmosphere is worth it. This spot has quickly been embraced by the neighborhood as it's buzzing for lunch and dinner throughout the week. Only a sign of more good things to come! read more

What says I love you more than tacos? That's what I thought. My boyfriend and I came here on valentine's day at 9 pm. There wasn't much of a crowd but man did the food take foreverrrr to come out. That's why I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5. They also forgot about one of my orders. It's also a tad bit pricey here. With all that aside, I think the food here is pretty damn amazing. If you haven't tried the duck quesadillas then you're missing out. Most unique quesadillas I've ever had. The corn was good. Guac was mehhhh. The grouper tacos were also crisp and fresh. They have an assortment of free salsa. The chipotle aioli sauce and chipotle sauce were my fave sauces. Spacious Indoor and outdoor seatings available. Nothing to be alarmed about because the rest of their food is actually delicious as well. Here we order a chicken quesadilla and a fried fish sandwich. The fish sandwich, although I wish it wasn't fried, was absolutely amazing. I know! I was surprised myself. But hands down top 5 fish sandwiches I've had. Would of made top 3 if a blackened option was a thing. But as far as flavor and size good, it had plenty of both. A fair amount of fish, a bit big on the bun but the factors were great and a secret ingredient that made it pop too me was the beans. It also comes with avocado with is amazing already. Moving onto the chicken quesadilla, it was good. Plenty of chicken n cheese and the flavor was nice too. The chicken was seasoned just right and it comes with a side of sour cream and it's topped with cheese and pico as well. Great all around. What I didn't like was the price. I recently tried Coyo Taco because they are new in my neighborhood. Their location in Brickell is great. Love the decor, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Orders come out fast! The food is terrific. I haven't tasted corn tortillas this good since I was in San Diego. Everything is fresh and delicious. My only gripe with the his place is the time it takes to be served. My God, it is a ridiculously long wait. I stood in line today for 15 minutes in the heat waiting to get up to the register. There were only a few people ahead of me in the line. I timed how long it took me to place my order and pay (35 seconds). So why is the line not moving faster? Maybe it's because the place is new, which I would understand, but a solution needs to be made. Thank goodness the food is so tasty or I would not be back. But as I get older, I realize just how much this location caters to the younger, college going, spring breaking crowd. Outdoor seating is vulnerably right at the sidewalk, where music blasting cars, engine revving motorcycles, and money begging homeless people can continuously interrupt the enjoyment of these delicious tacos.
