We love Coyo Taco so much that I could summarize this review in one word... EXCELLENT! And I am Mexican so, I take my Mexican food very seriously. It's a taqueria but tastes like homemade food. Everything is good but I have to say the Cochinita Pibil Bowl is my favorite. Low key and informal atmosphere with lots blue accents and plenty of outdoor and inside seating. I needed a late night bite. I found this gem. The location is a vibe. I order the Al Pastor Burrito that wasn't for me to be honest. However I got the Birria Quesadilla. That slapped. I came to Miami in December for art Basel and this was a very popular restaurant with lots of bars and a very long line so I have been looking forward to trying this food for several months. Fast forward to May 2022 I had another opportunity to come to Miami and I made sure to stop by and try the food. I got the shrimp burrito with guac and the churros. Everything was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the burrito the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Get in my belly. I was so excited to find out this was located walking distance from where I was staying and it was open late. After a evening flight, nothing like some tacos and margaritas to complete your night. The tacos were great, fresh tortilla and overall flavorful. Not pictured is a chicken quesadilla, it was also very tasty. You are able to get salsas to your liking on the side of the counter. The margaritas were great and we got the spicy chili rum. They have juices available strawberry and I can't recall what else. Overall wait time was less than 5 mins and as we were eating inside they assigned us a number and then brought over the food. Came here first time I went to Miami-- it was the first place I ate after getting off the plane. My friend recommended it to me, so we Ubered to it, and it was exactly what I needed. There are multiple locations, one of them being Wynwood which is also a cool area! I ordered a burrito bowl, which contained all fresh ingredients and satisfied both my hunger and want for something on the healthier side. Food came out fast, and the workers all smiled and were very genuine with their happiness. So many different salsas to choose from.. hard to pick just one! Only reason I knew of Coyo Taco is that my friends stayed in the same hotel last year for Miami Music Week, and they said this was their go-to spot for food everyday. Alright, I was in a damn hurry, so I was like sure might as well try it out. The food here is good...prices, not so much. Had the al pastor taco and carne asada quesadilla. Thought it was solid Mexican food considering we're in Miami. Being from California, I've obviously had way better. Problem for me is that prices are way too damn high for what you're getting. Tacos of these size should not be $3.50 per under any circumstances. Service here was also pretty slow, which was kinda befuddling to me given the relative paucity of people that were in the restaurant when we came here (Thursday at 2 pm). My visit was more a product of convenience than actual desire to go. Any future visits, if I ever come back to Miami and am in the area, will fall under that same category. read more

Yummy yummy yummy! We tried another Coyo location on cinco de mayo and are now hooked. As we were out and about in Brickell last Sunday, we decided to stop in here for a $5 margarita. I was recently in Miami and I learned firsthand how unfriendly if not rude, most of the people in this city are. We came into this restaurant after a long day wandering around the city. The only reason we stopped into this one was because it was close to our hotel. When we walked into the restaurant, I held the door open for one of the employees who was hustling food to the tables outside. He brushed up against me and almost knocked me down twice. I figured he was in a hurry and maybe stressed out at work so I didn't sweat it. He didn't say thank you for holding the door open multiple times or apologize for almost knocking me down, but given my experience with the other unfriendly locals, I didn't stress over it. When we got inside and went to the cashier to order, she seemed annoyed by little requests, like no onions on tacos. When she asked what we wanted to drink we told her the watermelon margarita which was on full display in one of those machines. She said which watermelon we have multiple. I only saw one so we said the frozen one assuming they had a frozen one as well. She didn't correct us. She was obviously annoyed being at work. She was straight up rude. When the drink came to our table, we noticed it didn't taste like watermelon at all. We looked at the receipt and it very plainly said Red Bull frozen margarita. There may been some confusion somewhere, but maybe it should've been pointed out to us when we repeatedly asked for a watermelon margarita. Once again, we didn't try to let it stress us out. When the worker that had been hustling food, outside to other customers finally brought us our food. He knocked our frozen margarita over spilling about a third of it all over the table. He apologized and cleaned up the mess. Accidents happen. I get that. What annoyed us was we just lost a third of our drink and he did nothing to replace it. He didn't bring us another one. He didn't top off our current one. He didn't even offer. I have never seen that when eating out. This is not our first time having someone knock a drink over. It's not a big deal. The standard thing you do when this happens is to replace the customer's drink or even offer something comped. Not a huge deal. The fact that he didn't do anything for us just shows how poor the customer service and training at this restaurant is. I would like to say that when we finally ate our tacos, they were amazing but I can't. They were average by Los Angeles standards. I don't know how most tacos in Miami are, but these were nothing special. We actually found a much better place for tacos in the Wynwood area. If I could give less than one star for this restaurant I would. I can't remember being treated more rudely at a restaurant before. Given the fact that I'm on Yelp all the time reviewing restaurants obviously I eat out a lot. This place is terrible. Avoid it. read more

Wandering around looking for a place to eat found this place and tried to sample everything on their menu literally everything, here are some of the items I sampled and how everything faired. One note the music at this spot was on point, I do enjoy mix of high tempo reggae from the late 90's instead of the reggaetone being played everywhere else. Here are some of the items we sampled Drinks Michelada - sadly this was served in a plastic cup not traditional glass with all the fixings, taste wise it was ok, I would not order it again from here The tacos - before I describe each when you order taco's I did not know they came in 2's just an FYI so you can imagine how many tacos I had to finish lol The Al Pastor- marinated pork that was juicy, flavorful, I could do without the pineapple but still a definite must try The Alambre - picture this cheese melted, and wrapped in the meat is skirt steak, bacon, chiles toreados, salsa is it over powering yes, is it delicious yes, it is massive on a single taco, definite must try The Cochinita - Yucatan style roasted pork with habanero picked onions, honestly I know habanero is hot, this taco with the meat was not hot at all, flavor wise was good, I would order this again The Camaron- shrimp tacos which came out as more of a wrap then a taco, two huge shrimp per taco with all the seasoning, definite must try, I highly recommend this taco The Barbacoa - slow roasted short ribs with chipotle sauce juicy, favorful, So total of 10 tacos with all the fixings, walked out more then satisfied, definitely recommend to try all the tacos I sampled if not more, bring a friend or a group there is allot of food to be sampled tacos ***** Michelada ** sadly would not order this again, if they offered it in a tall glass cup probably would still pass price $$ service ***** ambiance ***** the music was on point, open area, seating outside if needed read more
