I had the pescado and octopus tacos with some guacamole . The octopus taco was the perfect amount of tender and just a smidge spicy The pescado taco was folded over perfectly to ensure that it didn't spill everywhere . The only issue they had was tooo many people not enough seats . The outdoor picnic tables could work in other cities but miami has a tendency for people to not want to sit very close to others . This place gives me life. I think I go twice a week on average. The food is delicious! The tacos come 2 per order. The carne asada is my favorite. They have street style corn. Burritos, guacamole, and salads are good. Everything is a la carte, but can be shared. Oh, and the churros are mouth watering. They have a salsa and aioli bar for your tacos or burritos. The place is small and quirky. When necessary I am the woman with the stroller fighting my way to the register apologizing the whole way, sorry! There are no high chairs for kids, but they have always been very nice to me tugging my toddler around. I would have taken a photo, but I devour the food so fast. I really enjoyed this place. Food in front, party in the back. Come to this place for food and drinks or bring your friends to impress. When you first arrive you order yourself some tacos priced at $3 and up (each taco) and then if you're feeling adventurous head over to the back room where you'll find a bar. Make you feel like you're going into a hidden speak-easy. The craft cocktails are priced at about $12-$13 and up. You get to see the bartender in action concocting your poison (I mean drink) of voice with all the ingredients right on the counter. They place good music, but you probably don't stay that long unless you're trying to spend your week's earnings in here. Thankfully, your trusty friends at Yelp hooked you up with a 10% off your bill when you check in. Make sure to show that when you pay. The ambience is nice as it has deem lighting and the little light there is comes from the lit up bar. Parking for this area can be found on the street at metered spots. I would have given Coyo a 5 star review had it not been for my unpleasant experience last night when I (who am a regular) ordered a side of Guac ($3) for the first time and received 2 "1 ounce" sample cups of it, as opposed to a bowl with at the very least, some decent presentation to deceive me into believing that the $3 I paid for were some what worth it. When I addressed the sample-sized cups of Guacamole to the staff, I was treated like a nuisance by the cashier and "chef" as if my shock was unwarranted. The server alone agreed with me that the portions were laughable. The "chef" as I refer to him (because he was dressed in a white chef jacket) arrogantly handed me an extra sample cup -as if the table spoon sized portion would resolve my issue- and stated "those are each one ounce, here's another one." So wait, what? I'm confused. Did I pay $1.50 per 1oz sample cup of Guac? Large sized, ripe Avocados alone cost $3, hence, I could have filled 10 sample cups for that amount. I'm very disappointed. The menus should be modified to describe the portion size of this option. With the exception of last night, however, I would recommend turning a taco into a Guac bowl and asking for extra crema (theirs is very good). The Octopus & Shrimp taco is delightful and if you're a fan of corn, get the Elote as it does not disappoint. Margaritas are good and definitely give you a good buzz with just one. I typically have a nice culinary experience every time I go...innovative and tasty. 2nd on my list of top Mexican food in Miami, whereas my 1st is an authentic Mexican restaurant. Not as affordable as Mexican food typically is...but to me, worth it when you're craving Coyo. read more

My boyfriend and I went to COYO for lunch today. I decided to have pollo al carbon (since they were out of pineapples), but made it into a burrito bowl. My boyfriend had the shrimp tacos (2) and steak (2). The bill came out to be $30. For the price, the food here is very decent, even though the steak and chicken were a little over cooked. The place is very hip and inexpensive. It's also very quick so if you're trying to grab a quick bite, this is a great place instead of resorting to another fast food restaurant. However, seating space is limited, and you might have to eat while standing. Either way, the food was tasty and their green rice is awesome! read more

The octopus is good but bc of the way they are served they sit with the juices gathering resulting in the entire taco falling apart. Located in Wynwood, this place has the look and feel of Southern California. The atmosphere and music played is very chill and matches the wynwood artsy feel. The food is good. I ordered Pollo al Carbon and Carne Asado tacos. Both were good. They have a few select sauces you can mix with your tacos and chips. Wouldn't be that Mexican feel without a little spice tingle in their ingredients. Overall I loved my first of many experiences to Coyo Taco. You can't go wrong with the carnitas de pato. They are flavorful and juicy with a wonderful little crunch. They sell out for a reason. The carne asada I've tried twice. Loved everything about the food except for the Octapus tacos. They weren't *bad* but they weren't as tender as they should have been- yes it's a long process to tenderize but if you're gonna do it do it right. The carne asada tacos were on point. The sauces were amazing- the creamy chipotle- oh man. My friend and I were happy to have gone for dinner after the sun went down so it wasn't so obvious we were stuffing our faces like fiends. The organic black beans were also amazing and so was the guac. The pickled vegetables are super spicy - be careful. We weren't sure how many tacos to get- 2 girls who can put a lot of food down- but 2 orders of tacos (2 tacos in each order) and black beans/large guac/and chips was more than enough.
