The owner, John, was very upfront about expectations, and said it could possibly be in the $2.5 to $4k range if another rebuild and expensive parts were needed. After he had a chance to take it apart to inspect, he determined the main problem was that it needed a new solenoid body. He replaced it, along with some other work, and the cost for parts and labor was a fraction of the initial rough estimate he gave. The best part is the T-Bird shifts great now and is a joy to drive again (I can put that V8 to good use now :) John was honest, fair and really knew what he was doing to get the job done right (and, as a side note, a really nice guy to deal with). I was…read moreon the tollway, going with the flow of traffic at about 70mph, when I suddenly heard an awful, terrifying, loud metal screeching sound coming from my car. When I was able to exit the tollway & pull over to a safe side street, I looked at the under carriage & found that the metal skid plate that covers & protects the underside of the engine, had come loose & was dragging & scraping the pavement. Knowing that issue creates dangerous sparks & other problems I decided to call AAA. Lucky for me, the tow truck driver suggested Charlie Car Care, and took me & my SUV there. The staff took my car immediately, reattached the skid plate with new bolts, and had me out of there in under an hour! Their price was very reasonable! I expected to pay 3-4x more, so was super pleased when they told me the price. The waiting area is nice & comfortable too. In addition to all that, the staff is super friendly. Madeline and Moises are excellent at customer service. Just like the other reviewers say...they are really professional & very friendly. All the staff members deserve 5 stars!
