We first checked into another Best Western close to a junkyard. Wow. we were so happy when we…read morerealized we were at the wrong address. This is really Montana at its best with Big Sky's hospitality and a deep sense of hospitality. Our cowboy Jordan checked us in the only remaining executive suite, after my brother in law kindly offer that room to us. The room is super spacious and comfortable with the rustic charm of western comfort! Their Wi-Fi was not working properly and Jordan got it fixed in a minute. Their blanket service is fantastic with super clean and individual plastic cover. Overall this is by far the best "Best Western" I have had the chance to visit. A little bit outdated but everything is top notch! Happy Fourth of July to all Yelpers!

And, what a pleasant surprise that was! I was greeted by the General Manager, Suzanne, who was so very helpful and accommodating, even though she was swamped with so many locals just looking to shower and get warm. That included a wedding party that was booked somewhere else, that unfortunately had also lost power. Twenty-six needed rooms and Suzanne and her crew made the wedding party VERY happy! I can't say enough about every staff member, but special thanks to Shelia and Cindy for the yummy breakfast buffet! Make sure you leave a big tip, because the breakfast is free .

I'm still on cloud 9 from my visit so I think now is the perfect time to write this review. We…read moreopted to go for the adult only retreat as our youngest child (the only one left) had no desire to go and if we weren't taking our kid we certainly didn't want to deal with anyone else's. Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

It's a peaceful lodge tucked away in a corner of the property that has a serene porch that we sat out on each night with views of the mountains. The room cleanliness was impeccable - much cleaner than any chain hotel I've stayed at. The housekeeping staff even left hand written notes for us, and went above and beyond in making sure all of the guests needs were not just met but exceeded when we needed help. You will not meet a more pleasant front desk staff who was genuinely excited to talk to you each day and answer any of your questions! The drive to the entrance of west glacier was maybe 5 minutes - perfect for quick access to the park. 2) We did the fly fishing all day tour which I would highly recommend. I would be amiss without mentioning our guide Chaney by name. He reached out to us ahead of time and was extremely kind and flexible - adapting to any requests I had to make the trip personalized. And he was amazing during the actual guide! He had us laughing, smiling and learning so much throughout the whole day. And he did it all while rowing us down rapids!! His knowledge of the local wildlife was impressive and you can tell he truly cares deeply about what he does. Not to mention the beauty of the river itself - it would have been worth it to go just for the views, and getting to fish while doing it was even better! All in all - exceptional place, I plan to re-book for my next visit in the area.

They also borrowed us bear spray which was convenient as we did a lot of hiking. They also offer complimentary lunch packages which came in handy as we often left really early. We didn't have time to do some of the activities they offer, but might try them next time. There are also some dinner options close by. Would definitely come back here.

We were there to celebrate my birthday, and although the staff knew it was my birthday, there wasn't any acknowledgment, which I thought was a little odd. The amazing food definitely makes it worth a visit, and I'd recommend giving it a try!

We appreciated the history, architecture, and overall atmosphere of the hotel. However, we were…read moredisappointed to pay such a premium for a very small room with an inferior view. I would not recommend booking the Honeymoon Suite. When we made our reservation, it was the only room available, so we took it. Having now seen the hotel in person, the price is very difficult to justify. The room itself is tiny, which we expected in a historic building and didn't mind. The issue is that it costs significantly more because it's described as having the best view. In reality, it's tucked around the side of the building. You can see the mountains, but the less expensive front-facing rooms actually have a much better view. The listing also advertises a private balcony. Technically there is a balcony, but it is shared with the neighboring room, and the other guests clearly weren't happy to have to share the space. Their dirty laundry was unlovely, hung to dry alongside the slim view. Also, do not dine here. If you're considering staying here, I'd recommend booking one of the standard front-facing rooms instead. Based on our experience, I would not recommend paying extra for the Honeymoon Suite.
