Kielbasa omelette

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Vista. The menu is quite large, but the quality of all the dishes is maintained. What I most appreciate is the simplicity. None of the dishes are overly complicated. The restaurant is large, but there isn't a lot of decor. They just do breakfast and do it well. The service is great, the food comes out reasonably fast and they come around frequently to top off your coffee and make sure you have everything you need.

This place feels like wandering into your grandma's kitchen ; cozy, bustling, familiar in the best way. It's always a little busy, but the food comes out exactly as you hope it will, every time. I had an avocado and spinach omelet with home fries (I prefer mine a tad crispier), and my kiddo happily polished off his plain cheeseburger just the way he likes it. Service is friendly and perfectly timed, the coffee flows freely, and the bonus delight is their case of pies calling your name on the way out.

Ambience Reminds me of a mom and pop restaurant with dishes similar to homemade. Ordered take out, food was ready on time and hot. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Would definitely visit this place again.

California chicken sandwich with cheddar and Ortega chili. Half fries and half sweet potato fries

We stopped into Coyote Cafe for dinner and it's been quite a while since we've he dinner here. I have breakfast here more often. Really large menu and a lot of specials on the board. My wife has the California chicken sandwich with avo, Ortega chili and cheddar. She had a split with fries and sweet potato fries and she really enjoyed everything and even took 1/2 sandwich home. I had the French dip with Ortega chili and Swiss cheese and fries. The au jus was hot and rich and delicious! It's the best French dip I've had in a long time, will def have that again but with sweet potato fries! Ice tea was very refreshing too. Our server was very nice and attentive and this place is always clean and tidy. Starting coming here after Saturday night service with our kids many years ago and it's as good as it ever was. Give them a try!

Good! A solid place to get your American Cafe on. Just nothing really memorable. Good sized plastic plates filled with enough to fill you up. Just nothing memorable. Corned beef hash is hailed on the menu as house-made. OK, made in house as characterized by the hashbrown potato slivers scattered throughout the finely, yet tasty, chopped corned beef. Just rather underwhelming. The very good country potatoes on the wife's plate would make a better, yet repetitive, hash starter. Go figure. The omelet on the wife's plate was big and satisfying. Again, just underwhelming. Service was pleasant and the overall interior feel says "American Cafe". Do stop in and give their huge menu a try. Dicks

Been here a couple of times and every time has been great. Their breakfast is delicious. Love the diner feel to it. Good prices. Lots of variety to keep everyone in the family happy! Friendly service. I appreciate that our server brought out coloring books and crayons for our kids. I really enjoyed their chicken fried steak with their white breakfast gravy. Sooo good.

Had to go check it out we got a free appetizer coupon. Restaurant was jampacked. Another good sign of a good restaurant. Food was good. Totally would recommend it. If you're in the area our server Ana was great. They even had live music going around the tables.

What a great find! Had a nice meal here in early afternoon on a week day. The cafe had no wait and the service was friendly and efficient. The ambiance is like stepping back in time, clean and cozy. Nice menu, with a huge variety of options. I opted for a pork chop dinner with everything being perfectly cooked. The chops were thin, yet juicy and the mashed potatoes and gravy were delish. I could not believe how large the salad was that came before the dinner. After the meal, the check came with a small dish of delicious tapioca pudding. What a treat! Great meal.

Our waitress, Samantha, was very accommodating and attentive. She made sure everything was just right and truly made us feel at home. It was our first time there, and we're really impressed by service , food and drinks. Especially since it was a busy Friday night. Even though we had a few thing that didn't come out quite right , it was handled very well and came out great overall. The ambiance had a laid-back brewery vibe -- very chill and comfortable.

Comfortable and casual. Many sign posted about disruptive kids and pets. It was early on a Monday evening, so I don't know if they enforce or not. The fish and chips were cooked very well. The flavor was good on the fish. The fries were crispy. My only disappointment is they served the malt vinegar on small portion cups instead of the shaker bottle. Hard to get an even spread. The pazole and the Cole slaw were both very good. Our server was attentive and friendly. They have water stations - coolers with cups stacked nearby. To me, the water tasted old ( I know -makes no sense). It had a very earthy note to it like the coolers weren't adequately cleaned. Would definitely go back!!

We found free parking on the street a block or two down from the restaurant. Service (4/5): You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. A couple of things stand out to me about their service. I was looking at the menu and was about to order. Someone behind me cut in line without asking if I was ready to order. The lady working noticed this and asked me to order first. Humanity still exists! They also check on your periodically even though this isn't true table service which is a nice touch. On the flip side, they did try and upsell me to add bacon bits to my dish which I was all for until I saw it was a $3.50 upcharge. I asked them to remove it. A little too steep. Ambiance (4/5): My type of restaurant. Casual with some charm. We sat at a table across from the bar. They have some cool decor, too. No complaints. Drinks (4/5): I had a beer flight because I often can't say no to a flight. I love the variety and being able to try new beers, especially when I'm traveling. While they don't have a huge selection, they had just enough beers that were interesting for me to take the plunge. Food (4/5): I did the country poutine which comes with fries, gravy, fried chicken bites, and green onions. I'm a sucker for loaded fries so I couldn't say no. Especially for this twist on a classic poutine. Generous portion size as I had hoped. A little more chicken would have been nice, but outside of that, very solid.

The location has a pretty extensive menu written in chalk on the walk, and it's easy to read. There are choices of sandwiches, salads and a lot of great food in-between. After taking a minute to decide we went with the Southwest Chicken Salad ($16.99) as well as the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich ($15.99) with a side of hushpuppies. The sauce on the salad was flavorful with just a bit of zest, and they gave us extra so that was really cool. It's a really comfy place to eat with a little bit of a Louisiana feel to it. For good food served by good people, this is the place!

If I could give it a ZERO for this visit I would! I have been going to Connie's for several years…read moredined outside etc. Met Coninie several times she showed us around and talked about all the wall goodies where they were from with MUCH pride she was a ball of joy!! BUT in the past year plus something has "drastically" changed in her personality, the last time I was in before this past week, she looked depressed and ready to give up, she said she was tired and her chef was out sick. I came very close to offering her a break and running her restaurant for a couple of weeks, FREE. I have many years of restaurant business, owned my own back in the day, and a great cook, so this would've been a piece of cake. I didn't but I decided to take a friend there last Wednesday from out of town. We sat down, she had a few tables but by no means busy, she came over to take our order, my friend ordered coffee, me water. She brought those like it was the toughest thing she had done that day, her energy was so DARK and ICCKY, I wanted to leave before we got started but we were hungry and had a big day planned. She was not the least bit FRIENDLY, I placed my order and asked if it would be possible to get my waffle after my main meal. If looks could "KILL", she glared disgustingly at me and said, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME" I didn't quite know what to say it was a very simple request I wasn't asking to substitute or anything other than A TIME DEAL. She huffed and puffed and said, "I have that big table out there so it's gonna be awhile". It was a 6 top, WHOOPEE! I said that's fine, my friend ordered and she walked away, I sat for a minute and thought HELL NO, I will not be treated this way by anyone especially the owner of the restaurant and subject my friend to her ICKYNESS on her vacation! So I got up walked over to her open kitchen and said, "I think we will go somewhere we feel more wanted". she looked up glared and said fine! We started to walk out and she came out and said $3.00 for the coffee, like she was A DRILL SARGENT! I would have said, bleep, bleep, bleep BUT..... MY friend hadn't even touched it but put the $3.00 down and asked for a to go cup. That made her even madder, my firend said, tough day?AND her excuse yet again was her cook was sick. Sorry lady that only works for awhile and why was that our problem. I personally think it's time for her to retire with that attitude! We decided to go down to our new local restaurant "BLACK BEAR DINER"! What a great experience, had an excellent meal and service was awesome too. Will never return to Connie's NEGATIVE diner. Head the warning!
