It is my favorite variant of ice cream: super rich, it has a soft and delicate mouth-feel, and it is extremely creamy (hence the name). The Creemee stand (owned by the Boyd family) is my favorite place serving Creemee in the area. They always have vanilla and chocolate (which you can get as a swirl), and Vermont Maple. All three are outstanding, but I like Maple the best. There's just a hint of maple, which adds a hint of a maple/caramel that accentuates the creaminess of the vanilla. Sometimes they also have Black Raspberry, which is also very good. They also serve hard scoop ice cream as well and I'll bet it's really good. I just will never find out because if I'm at the Creemee Stand, you can bet I'll be getting some Creemee.

I will have to agree with another poster who said there was very little maple flavor. I really felt like I was eating a vanilla soft serve. However when I get there, I saw some guys drinking beers at the bar which piqued my interest so I took another look at the menu. Why not get an Affogatotini? Caffeine and a maple creemee all in one! This was DELISH! The girls that work here are so nice. I visited twice in the same day and both times this place was swamped. They took it in stride and still had a smile on their face while working through the line. The Maple Reserve offers ice cream / creemees, coffee, pastries and serves alcohol. They have a little area where you can also buy pure Vermont maple syrup, jams, sauces, small kitchen accessories, etc.

I don't think they were quite as good as Lake Champlain chocolates, but they were a close second. I always appreciate the freshness factor (in addition to flavor), so it mattered that the orange peel and apricots were very fresh. If we are ever in the area, I'd come back here for sure, but I'd stick with the chocolates only. No more baked goods !

In February and March, their Sugar House is open and you can request a free tour of how they make and bottle their maple syrup. From the tapped trees to the raw syrup in vats, to boiling the syrup and taste-testing, the owner and the staff were very knowledgeable and great with kids! They also have a small animal farm that is always fun for the kiddies. It's a great place to stop by, taste test, take a tour, and shop!
