We had to be on this side of town, so I suggested going to Cozy Cabin because I love kitschy little diners. The first thing I noticed was that the place is incredibly clean. It's light and airy and it smells of soap -- not nasty disinfectant, but just pure, clean soap. And it smells of nicely cooked food as well, of course. The waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming, which is always nice. I ordered the senior fish & chips and the server, Jennifer, asked me if I was old enough. I offered to show her my I.D. & she said she believed me, but that I didn't look it. Needless to say, that made me feel good. (Although, not to toot my own horn, but I don't look my age.) The fish was two big, thick pieces. I actually only finished about 3/4 of one piece! It came with fries that were fine but nothing special, and I got cole slaw instead of soup. That was good as well. But, it was also served with canned green beans. Just...no. My sister got a turkey club sandwich which also came with soup or cole slaw. She enjoyed that as well. And I loved that the iced tea was served in mason jars. Such a homey little touch! The prices were very reasonable as well. In fact, I think they were less than those of a fast food place we stopped at later in the day for a carry out! Definitely worth a stop -- nothing fancy, but it's good, solid food. read more

It's bustling and busy in here. We were seated shortly after walking in. Coffees and menus are out several minutes later. The homestyle Cinnamon French Toast sounds good. Ordered veggie skillet, bagel with cream cheese instead of toast, Greek salad, feta on the side and turkey Reuben with onion ring side. $42.75 Food was out almost an hour after we arrived, must be patient for your food to come out. Their cinnamon bread for their French toast comes from MO, why not get it here locally? The first coffee mug had some black stuff on the rim. The onion ring batter looks like, but it's quite heavy and soggy. The rings also smell and taste like fish. Must use the same oil as their fried fish? Not pleasant. I think the batter for the onion rings could be the same used for their fried fish. Their turkey Reuben is so-so, it's sliced deli meat. The cheese seems like cheese sauce. Nothing special. The bread is at least nicely toasted. The Russia dressing is tasteless. The Greek is old work out iceberg lettuce. The onions are big and not good for this salad. Dressing is thick and bland. My friend and I went for breakfast/lunch this morning. The food was very good and reasonably priced. She had french toast with eggs and sausage. She said it was one of the best breakfasts she's ever had. I had a blt wrap which was delicious. We also had Opa. It was perfect. Inside is a cool looking diner dressed up to look like a cabin, showing some age-- broken windows, torn seats, broken paper town dispensers in the restrooms. How have I never heard of this place? It's not like it's terribly far from where I live, and I know the area, so how did I miss such a good place to eat at? The date and I came here for breakfast after I wanted something different and close to his place for food. It's right next to a bowling alley and facing the street, so we headed off to dine here since we were starving. We don't mind coney island, but there's a time and place for that sort of stuff and it wasn't this morning. It looks like a log cabin from the outside and pulling in, we found a spot right away. The menu here is pretty big, with a nice variety of food to choose from. They are open from about 7 am until 5 PM, so make sure to get here before they close. The waitress said their known for their breakfasts, and we were also told about the specials that were located on the board. Mind you, I never have good luck with specials at places, but this place actually had good specials. Potato pancakes, stuffed French Toast, and a breakfast Quesadilla. I went with the breakfast quesadilla with Turkey instead of pork, and the boyfriend went with the meat lovers skillet with toast. We both got coffee and our food was fabulous. I polished off all of my food, and boyfriend took some his home for later. Coffee was good, water was in mason jars and our server was fabulous. I mean, she was really good. The people watching here was fabulous, and we want to go back just for that alone. Sometimes, at this breakfast places you get the annoying old men who want to sit around and talk about boring stuff like cars, their IRA, their sick wife or whatever else old farts talk about. This place? NO. There were only 3 other dudes in the place and they were such complete odd balls we loved it. One had a mullet, the other one looked shady af on his tablet, and the one behind me (according to my date) sat frozen after his food was cleared for 5 minutes. Like no movement. The only downfall? While the seating here is plentiful even with covid restrictions, there is barely any room to fit in between the booth and table. If you weigh more than 10 pounds and are over 3 foot tall, it literally feels like you are jammed in the booth. I don't know why that is. Anyway, we're coming back because this place is way to much fun to not people watch, the prices are on point and the food is actually good. Thank you Cozy Cabin, you really made our day! read more

This is our go to for breakfast and lunch. We have been coming here for years and never had a bad or even questionable meal. The food has always been excellent. The service has always been great. I highly recommend the home made bean and ham soup and the Reuben or Club sandwich. The place is decorated like a comfy little cabin, always very clean. Excellent food and service. This place is almost perfect. Food is absolutely incredible and this place is one of my and my wife's regular breakfast spots. Sometimes, however, they have weird issues and it's not often. Like their portions are small, the cook messed up both my over medium eggs, the bacon looks like it's the really cheap stuff and I get like 10 pieces of it even though I don't eat it. The waitresses here are also 4/5. Most of the time they are all great but sometimes big issues happen. I've had a to eat my entire meal without condiments because after I asked for them I didn't see a waitress for over 10 minutes. Options are eat without condiments or let the food get cold... Also if a customer asks for something specific on their food, even if a server doesn't cook it, it's his/her responsibility to not bring it out if it's wrong... it's the cooks fault but the server is the one who will get a lesser tip now. Unfortunate. It's consistency that would earn cozy cabin a 5 star review. I would also like there to be a bigger breakfast combo. Something like a "hungry mans" that comes with a full savory breakfast plus a small side of pancakes or something. read more

Come to eat here monthly, the food is ALWAYS amazing! I've never had a problem here once yet! The Biscuits are to DIE FOR they are great with honey or the Gravy they make! This place is literally 5 minute drive from my house, and I haven't been here until today. It's like I stepped into a time machine...or a movie set. You know those diners that you see in movies or TV shows where people meet for coffee? Or meet for some "questionable" transactions? Yeah, this is like that place. They have a lot of strange looking decor that is quite visually unappealing, but it's placed out of direct eyesight so it's no bother. The breakfast deals are from 7-11 am, but after that they still have some pretty good prices on breakfast. The sausages here are quite bomb-tastic, and not too salty (which is good). Overall, it's like a Denny's or Ramshorn, but not a chain. The food is standard fare, but what can you expect from an American diner? At a certain point, it's the same. I havent tried anything besides the breakfast eggs, sausages and pancakes, but it's not bad. Overall, I'd come back to try the rest of the menu, but I'm in no hurry. read more

The fiancé And I come most Sundays for a late breakfast, the food is standard small place food and the quality is decent (obviously since we frequent here), the biscuits seem frozen and reheated which stinks unless you get biscuits and gravy so they are smothered. The omelettes are our fav along with the country hash. From the few reviews I read, it was obvious most people come here for breakfast. It was nearly one in the afternoon and breakfast was outta the question! The menu is very large but prices are fair for the quantity of food you receive. Typical family dinner food. I ordered breasted chicken while the rest of my group ordered breakfast and sandwiches. My meal came with soup/salad/Cole slaw option (pick one) My meal came out several minutes after the rest of the family. We watched my food sit in the window for awhile. My chicken was decent. Definitely not the best broasted chicken I had. Chicken was juicy but the breading was crunchy and hard. Broasted potatoes were also hard. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I would likely comeback and try something different. Restaurant is a little dated with decor and old tables and carpeting. I have ordered from them a few times on Doordash, a food delivery site, first was two Coney hot dogs and fries! They are the only place around now a days that has real home fries, they are thick cut fries, cooked perfectly, not too salty or too greasy! Their Coney's though were more like chilli dog, as in a coney dog covered in chili bun and all, so you can't pick it up to eat it, you have to eat it with a fork instead! It tasted good, but it was messy! My second time I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries, it was very good! I have not tried anything else yet, but will! Such cute decor, whether you want a booth or table, it's comfortable. The staff was super nice and came around frequently to make sure we were good.
