Tasty novelty burger place. I got the tuna burger, which was fully cooked. I expected it to be more like a seared tuna steak, however, this did not detract from its dynamic construction and ingredients. Side of truffle fries- not the best I've ever had, but had lots of spices and I ate them all. Had a spiked adult root beer float and thoroughly enjoyed it. It did not taste like it contained any alcohol, which adds to its appeal. I wish there was a non-dairy option, but this was worth the sacrifice on my digestion. Trying to find a place in Aspen that wouldn't cost 2 people $80 to have a basic meal. This wasn't it . Me and my wife were in Aspen for our 30th wedding anniversary and being the avid John Denver fan that I have always been, my wife thought it would be nice to be here and explore, and definitely see the John Denver sanctuary. We came to CP Burger based on other reviews but obviously missed the "this ain't no cheaper than anything else" part. Cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, 2 orders of fries and 2 milk shakes. Almost 80 dollars!! And the kicker, the main part of this whole issue, is the 20%"service fee" they added on for, I don't know, doing their jobs of taking our orders, and cooking our food?? After two years, I gave them another chance. Still below par. Grilled chicken sandwich was slapped together and a real mess when unwrapping it. Well... I used to come here fairly often (4-5 times a month) and thought they had one of the best burgers in town, albeit quiet expensive. But hey that's Aspen. However, if you're paying a premium price for a burger you should get a premium experience and at the very least a quality piece of meat. The last two times I visited (late summer 2018) the burger was sloppily put together and the VERY last time I will ever step foot here the meat was tainted - I took a couple bites and threw the rest away. Either the manager is falling down on the job and allowing tainted meat to be served or something else has gone amiss in the kitchen. I just spent three days in Aspen, and CP Burger may have been the most satisfying meal I've had yet. By "satisfying" I don't necessarily mean that it was the very best, but given the price, the atmosphere, and the food quality, I think overall it can't be beat. We went there for lunch, and I had the Ahi Tuna Burger with some tater tots. The burger was delicious, and all of the ingredients seemed very fresh. It really reminded me of Gott's / Taylor's Automatic Refresher, if you've ever been to Napa or San Fran. They also have a great selection of spiked milkshakes. I had the banana something or other which was... um... not sure... some mix of banana ice cream, chocolate, and liquor. Great way to keep the day going :-). Nice spot and food is fine - but we paid a $100+ for food and golf and my 2.5 year old who'd never played mini golf before threw his ball in the 18th hole and lost it five minutes in. I asked if we could get him another ball and was told we'd have to pay for another round. I get that that's how mini golf works - but you can't make an exception for a two year old? read more

Maybe 2 places over 3 yrs ago were at best worth my money and time. So my hub's said this place had good burgers, though he ended up down playing it when we were near here. All burgers are cooked the same and it's small like a jr burger. It looks plump and fat, but that's because it's like my hand making a "c" cup shape. Chican burger- Only tasted the green chili's and no flavor, I had to add salt. Truffle fries- these were by far the NASTIEST tasting fries ever!! They tasted burnt and looked dehydrated. I couldn't really taste any truffle and even with a lot of salt on the fried, it tasted like I was eating ashes! NASTY!! Sweet potato fries- I'm not usually a fan of sweet fries, but these were the best by far and I ate these, mainly to get all the burnt taste out. Kale salad- Okay it was hearty, but flavorless.. I make mine much better with sliver of the salad almond toppings, truffle olive oil, hawaiian salt and lemon. For almost 9 bucks, who could by my ingredients for less and have more than 2 servings. Soo not worth it! I mean why is everyone raving about this stuff, when kale salads been out and in stores over years especially in vegas. Best part was character names and that was it.. I love the burgers here! I had the Summit Burger and the beef patty was juicy and exceeded my expectations. The burger was also the perfecy size - not too big but it filled me up. Also ordered the Parmesan garlic fries which I couldn't stop eating. The second time I came here, had the Kale Salad. You can add chicken for a few extra bucks but I just got the straight-up kale as I wasn't very hungry. It was good, but left a strange aftertaste - not sure if that's just kale or something else. You can walk right on into CP Burger with your skates on. They serve a range of good and creative burgers (jalapeno burger anyone?), fries (parmesan truffle fries perhaps?), edamame (!?!), Joel Gott wines, and a few interesting beverages with a kick (The Smuggler: chocolate ice cream w. peppermint schnapps, or the XO-Chino: Patron XO coffee liqueur, Amaretto, vanilla ice cream). Yum! Upon placing your order, you are given a 'star name;' they'll call you back to pick up your food at the counter by calling out something like "Chubby Checker, step right up and get your chili cheese dog and hot chocolate buddy!" Love this place for quick lunch, they have the best tuna burger with kale and wasabi yum! They also have sweet potato fries, is so good! The location of this restaurant is very convenient because its right across from the Ruby Park bus station and very close to the Aspen mountain gondola. Location may be the best part, but the food ain't half bad. A big open patio with umbrella'd tables at the foot of Aspen mountain gives you space to breathe and relax. It's a food-on-trays kinda place but they have a vegi-burger and its tasty. Add some truffle fries and you are set for a meal on the cheaps. Meal companions say the meaty-type burgers are pretty tasty too. In the summer, they fill the ice skating rink with a mini-golf course. The bun is so soft and fresh it feels like velvet in your hands. This is probably one of the more expensive hamburgers at $9.80 after Aspen's outrageous sales tax rate but worth every penny. My daughter wanted a kids meal grilled cheese listed on the menu as "grilled cheese" (same thing she gets every time) and included a side of tater tots and a fountain drink. When my daughter reached for her cup for her drink the woman working at the register snapped at my daughter and told her she would have to order the "kids meal grilled cheese". I asked how much more that would be she proceeded to rudely tell me she had already placed our order and seemed as if she did not want our business. On top of that their credit card system was down and it took 10 minutes to order. She never gave us a name to pick up our food under and continued to treat us as if we were idiots when we didn't come to her calling for our food. I've always found Aspen to be a smaller LA in the Rockies. CP Burger is proving my theory. This place is a total LA gourmet burger joint. And it's fantastic! Super friendly workers with a clean, simple and creative menu. I was weighing between the tuna burger and the falafel burger. I was in dire need of some protein, so I went with the tuna burger. It was incrediballs. I think it had something to do with the miso vinaigrette and kale that generously topped my perfectly seared fish. It was served with truffle parmesan fries. They were ridiculous. Apparently they're pretty common in Aspen and you can casually ask for them in most restaurants. Delightful. Everything comes in neat little packaging, which is, of course, biodegradable. However, the BEST part about this place is their system of taking names while you wait for your food. I think this should be adopted by other restaurants because it's fucking awesome. Instead of taking down your weird ass name, they assign you a celebrity name. No questions asked, no misspellings, and why wouldn't I want to be Robert Wagner while I eat my burger? From salads to lattes to milkshakes to TATER TOTS, it's all at CP Burger. The burger was good, but it had a stray onion, which I did not appreciate. Also, the help was all over the place. One cashier stood at the cash register but refused to take customers, and my burger sat for over ten minutes because the cook did not call out the order. Everything was super crowded and there was no take out or delivery from just about anywhere. When I saw CP Burger with no line, it was like an oasis. We went in around 8:30 (it was a Saturday night) and were immediately told at ordering that they closed at 9, so we needed to "eat fast." Now I am from the south, so perhaps I am a little sensitive to rude behavior, but they did not even say "bless your heart." I have never one time been told to hurry, we are closing. As an aside, when I was leaving, I heard them telling others that they had 5 minutes and then they needed to pack up their food and go, they could eat it outside! The goofy names they put on tickets make it hard to know when your food is ready. When I realized they were calling my ticket, I jumped up to go get it (since I was in a hurry, as directed). I forgot my mask at the table as I had been drinking. When I got up there, I asked this female worker what name she had called. She looks at me and rudely answers, do you have a mask? I said, at the table, sorry. Now, walking back by people to get a mask and then back up there seems counterproductive at this point, so I ask again, what name did you call? Thinking I need to grab my tray and hurry back to sit down since Covid cannot be spread when you are sitting without a mask, as opposed to standing. She says, look at the ticket yourself. What the hell? You want me to touch a tray with food (that may or may not be mine), to dig out a receipt because I am not wearing a mask (on accident). The burger was not very good but mostly because I do not like thick chunky patties. The bread fell apart and I just chunked most of the whole thing.
