My pool looks awesome after getting resurfaced and the guys that did the work were incredible, polite and worked clean.The best part it happened in a matter of days not weeks. Selected tile and signed contract on a Wednesday. They were willing to start next day but I wanted the pool for the weekend. So,Tuesday they did demo to the tile and plaster. Tile came in from supplier Wednesday. Thursday they did the tile, Friday the Pebble Tech. Saturday Acid wash and refill pool. Monday was the startup of getting the water right with chemicals. We kept going back and forth as to what to do with the large pool in our backyard. The pool was in really bad shape, and needed a complete overhaul i.e. the whole works--tile, plaster, skimmer, plumbing, pump, filter, lighting, etc. People we bought the house from didn't take care of the pool and we had to drain it because someone stole our pump during renovations... (don't ask...). So the pool was starting to get to be a huge pain, and developing into a health hazard (according to all the numerous government agencies who came by to tell us so as rain water had accumulated in the empty pool). Long story short, we ultimately decided not to contract with CPR, but not because of their pricing which was very competitive and fair given the amount of work, but because we ultimately decided to look into decommissioning the pool altogether. I appreciated CPR's patience with us through the whole process, fielding my questions, and not pressuring us to go through with the renovation even though technically we had already signed the contract. They allowed us to back out because nothing had started yet, and I was just so impressed by how they conduct business. Jan and Robert just re-plastered and re-tiled our large pool. I was expecting a long, messy nightmare, but it was just the opposite. The demolition went quickly and quite cleanly. The new plaster and tile were installed in about four hours. The whole project was completed in less than a week. Robert also advised me about updating and replacing the pump and filter, which I did, and Jan guided me through the rebate process. The plaster was scratched, moteled (sp?) and the cement coping was so bad it left my sons foot bleeding when he stepped on it. They get 2 stars because in the end my pool looks great, but the actual service I received left a lot to be desired and ended up costing more than estimated. Their "customer satisfaction guarantee" is pretty much worth the electronic ink it's printed on. This project was replastering my pool and replacing all of my pool equipment. What should have take a week or two stretched into 3 months, with several mistakes that ended up costing me (allowing the pool to drain after I had filled it with water), installing wrong breaker. When it started getting warm out my pool pump and heater stopped working and I noticed none of the pool equipment was getting electricity. Turns out they installed a totally inappropriate circuit into my circuit breaker that kept tripping when it would get hot out. I spoke with Jan several times about this and she kept promising to send someone out to take a look, but never did and quit answering my emails. I had to pay an electrician to come out and fix their mistake. read more

Robert's team at Complete Pool & Spa just finished a gorgeous reno of my kidney-shaped pool in Woodland Hills. After reaching out to several different contractors in the area for quotes and inspections, Robert was the clear stand out. Best vibe, best pricing, best timing. His office staff (the incomparable Jan) is always available via email or phone to answer any questions and his workers are professional, hard working, and just all around good guys. Our old plaster pool had numerous structural issues due to ground movement compromising the pool bowl, as well as the standard peeling plaster and paint. Per Robert's recommendation, we chose a new fiberglass shell (prettier than pebble tec imho) and a sleek white moroccan tile to complement the look. The work was completed in one week and then another two days to fill the pool (I'm dreading my water bill). Couldn't be happier with the result. read more

We hired CPR to do a full re-plastering and re-tiling, new pump install and water leveler install.. The pros: -Robert, the owner, is pleasant to deal with when you're lucky enough to get a hold of him (more on that). -Jan (who answers the phone) is also pleasant to deal with. -The plastering and tile work seems to be done well. The pool itself looks good. -The crew was mostly neat. -They were helpful with providing the guidance I needed to get my DWP pump refund. -I was on a timetable that they kept to. -After some shopping around, the price was reasonable. The cons: -HORRIBLE communication. Robert disappeared for a long time despite multiple emails and voice messages I left over issues and problems that arose. When the emails were returned by whoever, they failed to address most of my questions. It was beyond frustrating to contact them after the plastering was complete. It was in fact infuriating. -The workmanship on the pump install and the water leveler was both sloppy and incompetent. Ex. A main pump valve couldn't turn because it was installed in such a way that the pipe blocked the handle from turning. When they came back to "fix" it they moved it but did it yet again. It took three times to install correctly the most basic pool pump plumbing, The piping on the water leveler was crooked, thereby putting strain on the valve. The pump pvcs and leveler were spray painted so sloppily that they actually painted my plant, fence and the brick on the ground. They finally fixed these items - to a degree - after many, many unanswered calls and emails. -The communication about what was to be done by the maintenance company they contract to adjust the pool chemicals so the plaster sets properly was horrible and led to enormous confusion. It's still not clear to me who was supposed to do what and therefore whether this sub did what it was supposed to or not. As I mentioned, they did ultimately came back and fix the problems - to a degree - but I was frustrated and infuriated by then. So, I could just as well have given one star because rarely have I been so frustrated by a contractor, but the main thrust of the transaction was the re-plastering and re-tiling and on that score they seem to have done a decent job. I hate giving low scores to small businesses, especially when it seems to be a family business, so I hope they learn from this and use it to improve. There seems to be a constant theme emerging on Yelp about this business and that is "communication." This is so so easy to fix with a little effort. Everyone accepts that mistakes happen and things go wrong, but being frustrated by horrible communication is intolerable. read more

We had a pool that was notorious for cracking and leaking. We kept spending money for band aid fixes such as epoxy patches. The fixes would work only temporarily until new cracks and leaks would appear. Finally we decided to repair our pool the correct and permanent way. Robert was very knowledgeable and explained the differences between fiberglass composite lining vs just replastering the pool. We went with the fiberglass option and so far so good. Pool looks awesome and brand new. Robert and his crew did a great job with the remodel of the pool and of my backyard as we got pavers installed. After searching through many listings, I found Robert Lansing on Yelp and carefully read through all of the reviews. I arranged for him to come out to share his ideas for our pool. Our pool was previously plastered in 2012 it turned out with a bad batch of plaster eventually developing (within 4 months) black stains all over. It was plastered by the former company once again, and within a few months, developed even more black stains. Robert explained that the plaster was now decomposing. He laid out the possibilities for plaster or fiberglass composite to refinish the pool. He said the fiberglass would make it "beautiful." I trusted him and he was right! We now have a beautiful pool complete with new tile and an energy efficient pump that, once we receive the DWP rebate, will almost pay for itself. On a personal level, Robert is calm, intelligent and has a great crew that work hard all day and clean up with the same care that they showed while doing all the work. It took a little less than 3 weeks from beginning to end and I think that is a fair amount of time to cover any unforeseen possibilities. Robert and his team did a very good job redoing the fiberglass and tile on my pool a few months ago; it has held up fine so far. The work was done on the predicted schedule with a modest delay in part due to rain. Robert accommodated requests outside of the contract such as custom tiles and plumbing diagnostics. His team also came back at my request to take care of minor clean-up issues. There were a couple of misunderstandings about the contract and aesthetic decisions, reflecting less than perfect communication, but I share in the blame for that. Overall the result is great. It took me several weeks to decide on who, and more importantly, which way to go with repair an above ground pool that was showing leaking and rusting. Robert Lansing and his crew replaced the plaster in my pool last week and did an excellent job! He also bead-blasted my tile and brought it back to looking like new. His crew was courteous and every day cleaned up after their work of demolishing the old plaster and hauling it away and applying the new plaster. When filling up the pool and restarting the filter they took the time to do everything right and all of the surrounding area of the pool and yard were left clean and better looking that before they starting.
