The lady was hitting my hand so it would "relax" and being very agreessice on my visibly fragile and weak nails. I have always struggled with my nail strength and am rather insecure about it. she spent the whole time pointing out how short my nails are and how it makes her job shorter. At the end of my manicure she called a coworker to show how short my nails were. she was unhappy with my tip amount and demanded I added more. I thought 10% was enough after the painful experience but she rolled her eyes and asked for 20%. would you leave a 20% tip when you left the nail salon bloody? I don't think so. I wish they actually accepted Apple Pay as this is listed on the maps application. I was foolish to trust before learning (after $187 in services rendered) that they do not take Apple Pay. I reported this issue and it was "resolved" but still appears that they take Apple Pay through my iOS map. My nails look great. They took great care and paid attention to what I wanted. DON'T GET WAXING HERE!!! I got a lip waxing here today and they ripped off half of my skin. The lady told me their wax was for sensitive skin but clearly they lied. The lady doing the service was also rushing through it. I paid 20% in tip just to be polite and she was still complaining about it , despite doing a terrible job. Yes, the manicure is $18. Is it worth it? Also yes. If you're in this midtown area, it's going to be pricey OR dicey. This salon does take extra measures to make sure you're getting your $18 worth. They start you off with a bowl of warm water and adding a few drops of essential oil in, making it smell nice and relaxing! Then they slip warm collagen gloves onto your hands, which stay there through the buffing and trimming, right up until the hand massage. My hands feel so soft hours later, even after washing my hands a few times. Both of these little extras were new to me and such a treat. My technician was VERY attentive to my fingers. I admittedly pick my cuticles and the skin around, and she made sure they were buffed smooth so no strays grow in to tempt me to pick again. LOVE when they pay that much attention to detail. Even though it took extra time, she committed to making them look perfect. Her hand massage was strong and satisfying--always a plus. They use warm towels (which isn't that out of the ordinary, but always appreciated). She got the color polish all the way down to my cuticles so that they'll definitely look goof for at least a week. (Sometimes I find that they don't get it all the way to the bottom!) I am extremely pleased with my experience here. If you really want to treat yourself, I'd recommend this salon highly! read more

I stopped by here on a business trip to NYC because, gasp, I broke a nail!! I did not make an appointment and was worried they would be full due to the stellar location right off of central park. They got me in no problem and fixed me up perfectly! She took a lot of care in matching the existing color and shape, and you can't even tell which one was the broken one. The ambiance inside is fabulous, clean and modern with wood details. I'll be stopping by for a pedi next time I'm in town. read more

Alright place with a price on the expensive side. Their service is not bad that they offered hot green tea to us in such a chilly and rainy day. Nice clean place because they are newly opened. Maybe because they are new, they are only ready to do colors or basic style like French manicure, but not little more complicated ones, not alone the ones with ornaments. They did a great job on profiling the shapes of nails and clean the cuticles which makes your nails look very neat. The painting job is just very mediocre, something you can do better by yourself I'd say. Chipped edges of gel near cuticles, the edge of French manicure is triangle shaped kinda. Been coming here for about a year and usually I haven't had an issue. However my mother went a couple weeks ago and they filed her gel off to a bloody pulp. It was painful and even though she kept telling them it hurt they kept filing away. I went there today and after I paid and was drying, one of the techs leaned in and told me I tipped her terrible. First, tipping is my discretion. She told me I tipped the other tech more than her. I told her "no, I tipped you both the same." She continued to tell me that people usually tip her more and that she dwarves a better tip. I felt SO UNCOMFORTABLE and wanted to leave. I was so awkward I reached into my purse and gave her an additional $5 because I was in such shock. I got up with wet nails to leave. I didn't even let her help me with my coat because I wanted to leave so fast. After a year of coming here I will not be back. Had absolutely no idea what they were doing , felt uncomfortable and knew weren't being done correctly- within 24 hours my non chip acrylic with gel varnish nails were chipping - went back to salon to get re done , again within a day or so my nails look awful - they are either not using the proper varnish to cure gel or they are just winging it - i noticed they were also watering down all there varnish with a clear fluid , which is probably why paint is chipping off ! I paid $120 for something a child could have done more professionally- they also butchered my fingers , I was bleeding in several places and sore on almost every finger from their complete lack of care - my skin is now sore blistered and bloody - would not recommend this place if you like your nails !!! woman was also rude and gave me a filthy look when I tipped her 15% due to being unhappy with the process - when I went back for them to correct my nails she was disgusted and just wanted me out the salon - most awful awful place - DO NOT WASTE MONEY HERE !!! read more

Great find by Central Park south! We walked in with no appointment, and they happily got us started on our mani pedis right away. The service is great, everyone is so nice and welcoming (they sometimes try to up sell you on the pedicure, though). Our nails were done flawlessly, and they gave GREAT massages. Would definitely recommend a 10 or 20 minute massage. The place is beautifully decorated, and very clean. It is a happy medium between an upscale spa and a walk-in nail salon. read more

Very clean and conveniently located so I really wanted to love it but I've been here around five times and none of the visits have been without issues. The latest is when the cuticle of my nail was cut so harshly that I couldn't get polish because it hurt so much. I booked a mani-pedi here on a Friday night and had no trouble getting in. The staff were pleasant and professional, and I really enjoyed my experience. Very friendly staff...nice pedicure and thorough manicure with powder fill (they don't do acrylic but so far this seems fine) and she made my nails nice and thin! The only reason I am giving this spa a 1 star is because they don't have an option to give ZERO. Our experience was fine while we were there but their English was so horrible they took advantage of us not understanding them. They charged us $235 for two pedicures!!!!!!
