I can't rave about Mega Nail (and Winnie, my nail tech) enough!! Mega Nail is a bright, beautiful space in Hell's Kitchen and they're doing a nice 10% off deal Mondays and Tuesdays from 10-2. I walked in on a day I didn't have too much time, and was able to get a seat pretty immediately. The prices here are definitely not cheap, but the quality you get makes it so worth it. My GelX extensions lasted me five weeks with no chipping, and after that I got a regular gel mani that has lasted me three so far with no signs of peeling. The techs treat your nails with care and respect and they know their stuff in terms of what's trendy and what will last. What was not fine, was the fact that my friend's pedicure was completely finished before mine even started. So for over an hour, I just sat there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was not asked what type of pedicure, I wanted, or asked anything else.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They cut and filed my toenails--didn't ask if I even wanted that or what shape. She then painted them and that was it. She didn't do any callus removal or anything else--literally used a dirty nail file on the back of my toe when I asked for about 2 seconds. She then put lotion on me, and then just wiped it off with a towel. They then tried to send me on my way and pay over $80 for basically a polish change. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I complained about the service, they didn't care.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They then called their manager, who could only offer me 15% off. Ridiculous. I went to get my nails done before my Disney trip. Saw a design online that I loved and stopped by the salon to see if they could do the design. Without hesitation they said they could and booked me on a Friday. I am glad I went in early and made an appointment. When I arrived on Friday they were super busy but did not make me feel rushed at all. My nail technician was Cece she was so great. She even thought the same as me when I showed her the sample photo the base color was too dark and would not match my skin tone right so she adjusted. The designs were exactly how I wanted them. I've gotten my nails done here a number of times and I'm always happy with the work they do. My gel x manicures last over a month-- I only get them redone because of how much my nails grow out in that time. I've never had a nail break or lift. I appreciated them accommodating a same day appointment. The salon was cute with great ambience and looked clean. The prices were a little on the high side. The pedicure was listed as $38 and then all of a sudden they asked whether I wanted a jasmine or vanilla scrub. When I asked if that was the regular basic pedicure they told me yes. I didn't realize until I went to pay that I was charged $56 which was confusing as the price was listed as $38 on the wall behind the register. And the scrub really wasn't necessary. When I went to pay they kept asking for cash and eventually accepted visa which was weird as an establishment that they wouldn't accept Amex. I ended up paying a lot more than I was expecting but I didn't argue it since the lady who did my nails was sweet and provided good service. But it was sketchy that a nail salon has an atm inside. I decided to leave this review after my dip powder manicure began to chip less than a week later. My dip always lasts at least two weeks which is why I'm such a fan of the dip. However after paying over $55 For a manicure I'd expect better results. read more

Bad experience overall. No customer service at all. The salon is overloaded and keeps rushing. Took a pedicure and the lady cut my toes with scissors, when trying to remove dead skin. My nails turned out uneven with their length and the shape wasn't what I wanted either - usually at other salons my techs will always look at my nails and file down accordingly but now my nails look a bit silly with the different length. The tech/owner also skipped steps like massage and lotion and oil. I felt rushed and not valued as a paying customer especially when short cuts are taken throughout the manicure.
