I had the loveliest manicurist ever for years. Her name was Lily. She commuted every day from Queens. She worked hard at this location. She invested her time. I invested time and money as well. When this person took over the salon she fired Lily. She was unhappy that Lily was so popular and that she should share her clients. How do you do that to someone ? She relied on this income and supported her family. As far as I was concerned, she yelled at me to leave. I criticized her letting Lily go and made suggestions regarding colors and such. Finding a nail salon that has the perfect combination of great service, clean atmosphere and friendly staff is a Diamond in the rough. The best eyebrow/tint/waxing connoisseur Naaz (who also works at Ah Nail Spa), recommended this location for my gel manicure and pedicure but she says I'm very "picky" (far from picky, I just need a flawless gel manicure that's all ). Excited I booked an appointment with Tracey (the owner). My appointment happened to be on the day NYC got hit with a snow storm that crippled the city, knowing I needed a manicure I hoped Ah was still open but understood the safety concerns in which the inclement weather posed and I was willing to reschedule my appointment. Pleasantly surprised when Tracey called to confirm my appointment. Upon entry, Tracey provided instructions to sanitize my hands and to wait at the front of the salon to complete my temperature check. Now for the fun part, the pedicure !!! My feet hasn't receive this much love since prior to COVID...(FYI, add the 10minute massage to your pedicure package your feet would thank you). And the manicure....I will say that the "picky" part me comes to my manicure...I have long nail beds and my nails are shaped like "arches", which many find difficult to catch the sides. But not Tracey, she polished my nails with ease, catching every side without getting polish on my cuticles....and it was at this very moment I claims this nail salon MINE !! Oh and there's a special trick of drying your gel manicure using the UV lamp that prolongs your manicure...but I won't share it here, you have to check it out yourself. And while you are there, you must show you eyebrows love with Naaz!! When has been tinting and shaping my brows for about 5yrs. She is THE BEST!!! read more

I'm embarrassed I haven't reviewed this place yet but I've been coming here for almost four years. Tracy is the best nail tech I've ever had and I'm been consistent about my nails for decades and even lived out of state for a few years (still the best salon). The place is clean, the wait time is minimum to nothing (make an appointment!), they use disposable tools and you can actually see them ensuring their metal tools are being UV disinfected. It's the best pedicure in NYC (the green tea pedicure is amazing). A lot of the pictures posted are of simple designs but they can do pretty much everything (chrome, Swarovski crystals/stones, cat-eye, and even free hand designs). This is honestly the nail salon of my dreams and I would gate-keep this but Tracy is a really kind person and deserves as much business as she can take! read more

Naaz is the brow queen. She is the first person who has ever made my brows perfect. I have a scar and she is able to work around that and make their shape fit perfect for my face. I literally will never allow anyone else to touch my brows ever again. Update: I followed Naaz to Ah nail and spa. The salon is modern, and clean. Have been coming to get my nails done with Tracy for 3 month now and I'm obsessed. She has a beautiful establishment and very COVID safe. First when you walk in they make you sanitize and take your temp as well as social distancing and mask are required. I used to come to this nail salón about 2 years ago, today 07/26/19 I revisit the nail salon, and it looks like they change owners. The service it's bad, and the nail technician that took care of me looks like she doesn't have much experience in the field. I'm a contemporary dancer who requires callous remover and the nail technician didn't even offer. I had to ask for it after she try to scrape my feet in 5 seconds not removing the callus. They also don't have a price list up, so the front desk lady try to charge me $25 for a pedicure when the flyer says $25 for a mani + pedi. It's very unfortunate that this establishment change owners. This nail salon used to be so good back in the day. Now it has poor management skills and costumer service. read more

The star is for the lady who did my pedicure - she was great. However the boss that came to finish the job and also collected the fee had the most terrible attitude. I was looking for a new salon and found this place near my office last winter. I typically go around 5:30pm. It's quiet, calm, the staff are polite, kind. I've gone about 4 times before covid and every time the work was done very well. I can't find a place this good for this price where I live NJ but i can't go into Manhattan now. They're also clean and everyone gets a new file and buffer at every visit as part of how they to keep things clean and sanitized. read more

The owner tells me that she can't fix my nails because it's been a week. She then tells me she will give me a 10 dollar discount. Mind you, I paid 45 okay tip. I went to AH a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. I checked it out a couple of months ago, when I first moved to the neighborhood but it was under different management back then. The staff was not pleasant and I ended up not even getting my nails done the first time. I'm glad I gave it a second chance. It caught my eye when I was walking by a couple of weeks ago after work and I could not believe it was the same salon! A lot more inviting from the outside and very warm and friendly when I walked in. Tracy was absolutely lovely. We started talking and I knew right away I made the right decision coming in that day. She literally told me "we're one big family here, so don't be a stranger"! She gave me a mani and pedi and kindly let me know about other salon services. I never once felt like she was pressuring me to get a different service or add on more to the services I was getting. That meant a lot!
